Iyanya officially launched his Mavin career today, October 31, 2016 with his first single on the label, Up 2 Sumtin, a track where he revealed his feelings about his split with erstwhile partner, Ubi Franklin.

The singer reflects on the broken promises and unfulfilled dreams he had with his long-time friend and partner who forced him out of Triple MG, a company he co-founded after their relationship became frosty.

Although, Iyanya’s move to MAVIN took everyone by surprise as it was expected that he would start another label from the scratch, the move is hailed in many quarters as an inspired one as the artiste is in good company with the Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage and Dr. Sid of this world.

Iyanya, in apparent reference to Ubi in the first line of the new single reminisced on the promises they shared about growing together and becoming great together, hinting once again that it was never his desire to leave MMMG in the first place.

Messaging app firm Snapchat has announced its first gadget - sunglasses with a built-in camera.

The device, which the company is calling Spectacles, will go on sale later this year priced at $130 (£100).

The glasses will record up to 30 seconds of video at a time.

As part of the announcement, Snapchat is renaming itself Snap, Inc.

The renaming decision underlined the company’s apparent ambition to go beyond the ephemeral messaging app, a product which is highly popular with young people.

on Friday showed Snap’s 26-year-old creator Evan Spiegel in a series of pictures taken by fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld.

In an interview, Mr Spiegel explained his rationale for creating Spectacles.

"It was our first vacation, and we went to [Californian state park] Big Sur for a day or two.

We were walking through the woods, stepping over logs, looking up at the beautiful trees.

"And when I got the footage back and watched it, I could see my own memory, through my own eyes - it was unbelievable.

"It’s one thing to see images of an experience you had, but it’s another thing to have an experience of the experience. It was the closest I’d ever come to feeling like I was there again."

On Saturday, Snap released some limited information about how the glasses will work.

Footage will be recorded in a new, circular format which can be viewed in any orientation, the company said. The battery on the device will last about a day.

A light on the front of the device will indicate to people nearby when the glasses are recording.

Prior to confirmation from Snap about the product,
news website Business Insider published a promotional video it found on YouTube showing the product.

The video has since been taken down.

A top official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed to SportingLife that the federation has got sufficient assurance from the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel that the turf of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo would be ready before the Super Eagles’ home tie with Algeria on November 7.

Eagles’ boss, Gernot Rohr complained about the pitch of the stadium during the final 2017 AFCON qualifier against Tanzania which Nigeria won 1-0 but Governor Emmanuel during the reception held for the senior national team and the Taifa Stars shortly after the tie exuded confidence that the pitch would be ready before then.

An official of the NFF told SportingLife that the federation would wait patiently for the governor to fulfill what he said but that they still have the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt waiting as an alternative to host Eagles’ home matches.

Nigeria Football Federation secretary-general, Mohammed Sanusi has disclosed that there are efforts being made by the Akwa Ibom State Government, to ensure that the playing pitch of the Goodwill Akpabio Stadium is in good condition.

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr had raised concerns about the pitch adding that the team may not return to Uyo, if the turf is left in a bad state. “The NFF values its relationship with the Akwa Ibom State government and will always advise directly on what areas need to be improved upon.

“We have spoken directly to those who matter with regards to the concern raised about the pitch, and we are happy that work has already started in that area,” said Dr. Sanusi The Super Eagles laboured to beat Tazania 1-0 at the arena with a wonder strike by Kelechi Iheanacho.

Sanusi declared that the NFF was enamoured by the arrangements made by the Akwa Ibom State government for the two teams, match officials and the NFF’s organizing team.

“The NFF can only commend the efforts of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State for the wonderful role they played. Even for such a match that had no effect on the qualification race, we had a full house at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. That underscores the level of work done by the Government in the area of mobilization.
