It’s been 17 years of immense positive contribution to the ever challenging terrain of the Gospel music Industry. The space has inflicted and influenced the majority number of the breathing being now, both Old and Young.

The things we see on social media has made a large number of us gone wild without knowing if those things are real or fake. I have stayed close to a lot of people that like posting flashy things on social media, believe and doubt me not, majority of them owns not those things the post, some the borrow, some bragged just to get the attention of some numerous senseless human being.

My main aim of writing this is to open your eyes, inspire and encourage you with my own little ability.

Killing yourself because you saw what somebody posted on social media is the worst and the most craziest mistake one will ever do.

Can you remember when phone � came out newly, types like Nokia 3310, Samsong that used to have pole, Siement and many others, those phones were so expensive that some of us even our parent couldn't afford it, talk less of us children. Who were we then. you can imagine buying only phone 100,000 and SIM at 15,000 by then. Some youth then went ahead to look for one to steal just to be among those that have phone, in that process they were killed, beaten mercilessly, some were even burnt to death.

They lost their lives just like that for phone.

Did you ever think that the will ever be something like android phone?

Did you ever think that you will own a big phone sold above 20,000?

Did you ever think that those set of expensive phones will be taken for nothing now?

PLEASE STAY CALM DEAR! THIS LIFE IS LIKE AN AMERICAN MOVIE, THIS LIFE IS A SET UP.

i can remember vividly when i was around 8 years old, how me, my siblings and friends used to sit out and be watching the main road, any car that passes the first person to see will say this is my car. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called off the nationwide strike.
NLC President Ayuba Wabba made the announcement on Sunday, September 30, 2018.

According to Channels TV, Wabba said the decision to call off the strike was based on the Federal Government’s promise to revisit the issue of the new minimum wage.

The Federal Government had earlier said that the Tripartite Committee on the new National Minimum Wage will reconvene on October 4, 2018.

The NLC strike started on Thursday, September 27, 2018.

Social Media is a tool. A good one at that. But like any other thing in life, it can be abused. It’s now common to come on a space like Instagram to see nice and lovely pictures of people “looking very fine and happy”

And One mistake to make would be to judge your own life by what you see online. Don’t forget that most times people would post the nice part of their lives online. They’d show you the nice clothes, cars, vacation, events, relationships, and share quite a number of their good news. Which is not bad. But what they may never post are the not so great sides. The tears, pain, the broke moments etc. They’d show you how they’re having a 3 course meal. But may not share the moments they had “drinking garri. “ And if you’re going through a time of trial, may leave thinking there’s something really wrong with your own life, forgetting that in the virtual space, things don’t always seem as real as they appear - Or better put, as they are portrayed to be.

Going forward, always remember that everyone regardless of what you see online, and how perfect everything looks, goes through his/her share of trying times. Also, never judge your life by those of others. Let God’s word be your yard stick. God’s word, His will, His timing and opinion of you. Any other basis would always leave you sad, frustrated and sometimes depressed. Believe God, not the world of make-believe.

It was awesome yesterday at Uyo, the capital city of Akwa ibom state. A state named after God in Nigeria, located in Southern part of the country ( Nigeria ).

A Carol Festival, an Annual Event that always gathered thousands of worshipers together to magnify the name of our Lord Jesus Christ took Place yesterday, they 22 of December, 2017 at Uyo city. It was such an amazing and beautiful thing to ever happened in the midst of Africa as a Whole and According to Guinness Book of Record, it is said to be the most and plenteous Carol gathering in the World.

The idea of the Event was brought in by the Former state governor who is now a Senator. And was formally known as 9,999 Carol Singers and was also including some foreign Choirs.

The 2017 Version of the Event tag; "Emmanuel" was just what no man can mention, the number of people that were blessed that very Night. People in the state, Akwa ibom and even outside the state and the country at large who came to partake in the Event were just so happy and were filled with Holy Ghost.

A Large numbers of Gospel Singers were there live and burn the Stage with wonderful joyous Worship and Praises. Artists; Nathaniel bassey, Progress Effiong, Eno Michael, Chris Shalom, David Ekene, Kingsley Ike, Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Umoh, Esther Edoho, Jimmy D’psaimist, Eben, Bob Fitts, Dr. Ron Kenoly, Dani Andi and Many others.

Choirs; Akwa ibom state government Choir, United Cameroon Voices ( Foreign ) and The Earth Shaking 5,000 Carol Singers.

In the Event was a group of Trumpeters and Saxophonist that included Davidwhyt, Aniekeme and Others.

Some powerful Men of God’s presence were also visible there such as Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, His Eminence Dr. Sunday Mbang, Bishiop Cletus Bassey, Achbishop Emma Isong, Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia and Several Others.

In attendant was also His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Akwa ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel , Sen. Godswill akpabio, The chief Judge of Akwa ibom State, Right Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke. The all were accompanied with their wives.

4. Know Productive Things:-

If you keep too much junk in your head, you get a junk life. I know a lot of men who are so sharp when you are talking about girls, about soccer and about street politics, Who is Rich who is not, Who has a good house � but you can't bring a topic about investment, innovation and business, they start looking at their phone, busy on social media doing nonsense and busy informing other idlers about his whereabouts, yawning or saying bye.. Useless things, videos and memes go viral fast than constructive things.. A man must know how to do atleast one productive thing (have one skill) even without having gone to school/college...

5. Get Connected to Big Men Who are better than you:-

A lot of men are failing because they are not mentored. They don't have anyone to whom they can sit down and listen, with obedience. In the old days, old men would sit young men down and show them how to hunt and kill animals... and no man was considered a man enough until he has personally killed an animal... now these men of nowadays are not mentored and can't even kill a bird.. There are men out there who have made it in life, find a way to get mentored by big men who are making waves and impacting people in our community.

6. Prayer is good.... disclaimer however:-

Spending your time all day just praying and fasting and doing nothing, yet you know that the Bible tells you that God will bless the works of your hands!!!!! yes yes! The blessing finds you on your way doing something,Stop using Prayer as an excuse not to work.....unless it is a Divine (Mandate).....not everybody is called to be a man or woman if cloth.

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis told executives of leading internet companies on Friday to use "their great profits" to defend children from sexual exploitation and other dangers lurking online.

The pontiff, speaking at a conference in Rome, said the Catholic Church needed to accept responsibility "before God, victims and public opinion" for its own sex abuse scandals, but wanted to share the lessons it had learned.
Speaking to participants including representatives from Facebook and Microsoft, he said social media businesses had to do more than set up filters and algorithms to block harmful content.

The 80-year-old pope spoke out against the spread of extreme pornography, the dangers of so-called "sexting" between young people and between adults and children, and cyber bullying, calling it "a true form of moral and physical attack."

He said "heinous, illicit activities" such as the commissioning and live viewing of rape and violence against minors via the so-called Dark Web had to be stopped.

The Church-organized conference — called Child Dignity in the Digital World — was held two months after a monsignor was recalled from the Vatican's Washington embassy in August after the U.S. State Department said he might have violated child pornography laws.

Church officials have been caught up in a series of scandals around the world — two years ago, the Vatican put its former ambassador to the Dominican Republic, an archbishop, on trial for child sex offences. He died before a verdict was reached.

'IMPRESSIONABLE MINDS'

The conference, held at a pontifical university in Rome, brought together experts from digital companies, law enforcement, medicine and academia to discuss online bullying, pornography and the preying on children by pedophiles.

The pope said social media businesses had to invest "a fair portion of their great profits" to protect "impressionable minds."

He said it would be a mistake to think that "automatic technical solutions, filters devised by ever more refined algorithms in order to identify and block the spread of abusive and harmful images, are sufficient to deal with these problems."

Businesses also had to address the broader ethical concerns associated with the growth of technology, rejecting the concept of "an ideological and mythical vision of the net as a realm of unlimited freedom."

He said that while the digital revolution had enormous advantages, "we rightly wonder if we are capable of guiding the processes we ourselves have set in motion, whether they might be escaping our grasp."

The pope acknowledged the Church's "own failures in providing for the protection of children: extremely grave facts have come to light, for which we have to accept our responsibility before God, before the victims and before public opinion."

Because of "skills gained in the process of conversion and purification," he said the Church felt "especially bound to work strenuously and wipth foresight for the protection of minors and their dignity."

Since the Church's scandals exploded around the world about 20 years ago, it has strived to put in to place so-called best practices to protect children.

It has defrocked priests, worked with local police and the pope has declared a "zero tolerance" where clerics could not appeal a conviction on technical grounds.

But victim's groups say the Vatican and the pope have not gone far enough, particularly in making bishops accountable for covering up or mishandling cases of child abuse.

A commission Francis set up in 2014 to advise him on how to root out sexual abuse has been hit by defections by two key members who lamented lack of progress and cooperation from Vatican officials.

The Rome conference's 13-point "Declaration of Rome" called on politicians, religious leaders, law enforcement organizations to help build a global awareness of the need to protect children from exploitation via the internet.

MONKEY POX ALERT!

Most Bayelsans woke up this morning to the terrifying news of 10 unconfirmed cases of monkey pox identified and quarantined in the state's teaching hospital with 49 other suspected cases being followed up.

The index patient who was said to have killed and eaten a monkey was with other close contacts seen to have developed the rash.

Monkey pox, a viral infection first discovered in 1958 in monkeys (hence the name), can also be transmitted to humans by rats, squirrels, antelopes and other primates via animal bites, contact with animal blood or bodily fluid, consumption of poorly cooked meat of infected animals, and handling of infected animals.

Human to human transmission, though limited is also possible through respiratory droplets and contact with bodily fluids of infected person.

If you ever had chicken pox, or quite unlikely, small pox; you'd recognise the symptoms and rash to be similar, only that the rashes in monkey pox appear larger and are more terrifying.

Prodromal symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, muscle pains, exhaustion, swollen lymph nodes.. are experienced a few days before appearance of the rash.

There is no specific treatment for monkey pox, hence the need to raise awareness on risk factors to reduce infection and viral exposure:

~Avoid contact with dead animals that could harbour the virus, or their secretions.

~Avoid materials that may have come in contact with infected animals

~Cook meat adequately

~Avoid intimate contact with infected persons.

~Practice good hand hygeine after contact with infected animals or humans. Wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizers.

~Avoid sharing a bed, room or utensils with infected persons.

~Report suspected cases to local authorities.

The disease is self limiting, lasting 2 to 4weeks and confers lifelong immunity on survivors.
