Sitting on a $280b mountain of cash, said to be only half of his company's portfolio size, and refusing his loved one a humble request of $40,000 tied to a specific need, suggesting it's not a habitual pestering for money.........

Here is what a miser looks like, both in Africa and in America.
At 80+ what much time left does he have to share love?
He was only saying that if you want it, you earn it. The entitlement mentality is a bane to any society, and that's why most developing "backward" countries have a majority of their population with such a mentality.

Meanwhile, the old man already said some time ago that his children will not get much of his assets when he passes away--he plans to donate most of his money to charity or a foundation.

Tinubu is a madman. This scheme has always been one of his plans, but he is trying to implement it without people knowing and compromising it by bringing their brothers from neighboring countries up north. Although I strongly believe having a robust, accurate, and reliable national database is essential to effective poverty alleviation and a general social security system, people should not be dehumanized before we can establish a working national database usable for many economic and security planning purposes.

What is the essence of that study?
Education is not for making money. The primary purpose of education is to emancipate human mind and contribute to the advancement of humanity. The secondary purpose is enhanced employment opportunities. When poverty mentality overthrows reasoning and the purpose of a tool is not understood, the tool is overly abused as education has been bastardized in Nigeria and Africa. However, the idea of education for money (or employment purpose) was borrowed from modern America and Europe where capitalism has taken over and is corrupting everything!

If only Nigerians can stop diploma syndrome, the economy will greatly benefit! No hard feelings!

Please I need investment advice.

I'm kinda stuck investing my $15000 funds with my bank in like a fixed deposit at 6% with very heavy penalty (80%) if terminated prematurely.

Please I need better alternative as I don't know any and how to go about it. This is my life saving so I'm kinda cautious so I don't lose it. The failure of Heritage bank and the abysmal NDIC coverage is making me have second thoughts about holding my investment in any Nigerian bank.

Is the amount I have too small to invest directly in USD denominated bonds?

If no, please how can I get started?

Please help copy other knowledgeable people here to guide me.

The word bunkering means fueling or refueling a ship. We all know how we "use" wordings in Nigeria. That is why I said in Nigeria context. Bunkering (stealing of crude oil) in Nigeria is illegal. I am sure GEJ would have mentioned fueling your ship is legal. He's from Niger Delta, he knows what bunkering means very well.
grin grin grin grin grin[/quote]grin No, he said what I said. Bunkering is not illegal, but illegal bunkering is our problem. Go dig out his speech.

In Nigeria context, bunkering means stealing of crude oil. It is illegal; don't sugarcoat it.
grin grin grin grin grin
Well, that's in street language tongue. However, technically and formally (by the law), "bunkering" is not illegal. It is more or less a supply chain process.

megawealth01:
So bunkering is not a crime in Nigeria?
No, it's not. Even a former president (GEJ) said it on national TV.

in the case of illegal bunkering, the military is heavily into it and they don't work on their own,the same thing with the hausa/fulani. We are not even 10% anymore because of tompolo's job to eradicate bunkering.his kinsmen can't do anything......
For clarification, bunkering is not a crime or a bad thing. However, illegal bunkering is a crime and a bane of the oil and gas industry.

Good evening everyone, someone sent me a list of secondary market tbills with there tenor and I saw the 13 days tenure at 17.55%, is that really true? I refuse to believe the rate could be that high, house please advise me because I plan on putting all my life savings on this. Thanks
Just to clarify, I hope you know that rate is per annum. In 13 days, you’ll only get ~17.55%*(13/365) = 0.2689% of your investment face value minus fees and charges. So, if you invest N100m, you’ll get less than N268,900.

As far as longterm growth and valuation is concerned, Presco don leave Okomu for tarmac.
Even Okomu's CEO said it. They don't have any expansion plans.

Presco na boss now. Dem no be mate.

Both are quaility businesses by the way.
No problem, we'll still enjoy the ride. Okomu will continue the trend until Monday. That would be at least a 20% run in two days.

We have no tiger nor have our fore fathers ever seen it in yorubaland. Leopard is what hunters called ogidan ọlọ́lá iju he who have sharp claws and make tribal marks without marks (Leopards claw is described as being similar to a living chain saw).

Leopard is Ẹkùn or ogidan.

I made this thread so I know what I am saying.
That’s far from the truth. There was no way to call a leopard ekùn. The name ekùn came from the humming sound that tigers make, which leopards don’t. Even if tigers are now extinct in the present day “Yorubaland”, they existed and the forefathers also saw tigers (which they called ekùn) in other kingdoms (Bariba/Borgu, Dahomey, etc.). Ogidan ọlọ́lá iju, akomo nílà lai lo abe refers to tiger’s sharp claws that it uses to scratch its prey as if making tribal marks on a child.
CultureRe: Animals Names In Yoruba And Their English Meaning by presiade(m): 9:27pm On Jun 15, 2024
N3cR0mAZc3R:
Incorrect. A leopard can kill faster than a cheetah but not run as fast. There's a difference between agility and being fast.

A leopard is quicker but a cheetah runs faster.

Leopard is ẹkùn, Àmọ̀tẹ́kùn is cheetah.
Ekun is tiger. It’s also called ogidan.

Banks don't pay upfront interest or they do?

I subscribed via Standard Chartered and I don't think they paid upfront.
For TBills, you get your interest upfront at the time of a successful bid, except you advise them to reinvest your interest. Any other arrangement is a scam.

Lol no. The true yield of a 20% pa rate at a commercial bank is higher than what investment firms will offer because they won’t pay upfront interest.
