That’s far from the truth. There was no way to call a leopard ekùn. The name ekùn came from the humming sound that tigers make, which leopards don’t. Even if tigers are now extinct in the present day “Yorubaland”, they existed and the forefathers also saw tigers (which they called ekùn) in other kingdoms (Bariba/Borgu, Dahomey, etc.). Ogidan ọlọ́lá iju, akomo nílà lai lo abe refers to tiger’s sharp claws that it uses to scratch its prey as if making tribal marks on a child.

Incorrect. A leopard can kill faster than a cheetah but not run as fast. There's a difference between agility and being fast.

A leopard is quicker but a cheetah runs faster.

Leopard is ẹkùn, Àmọ̀tẹ́kùn is cheetah.

Ekun is tiger. It’s also called ogidan.

I subscribed via Standard Chartered and I don't think they paid upfront.

For TBills, you get your interest upfront at the time of a successful bid, except you advise them to reinvest your interest. Any other arrangement is a scam.

Lol no. The true yield of a 20% pa rate at a commercial bank is higher than what investment firms will offer because they won’t pay upfront interest.

People don’t speak out because of the cancel culture they use to suppress those who complain or go against their system.

It’s in every country, even in the West, America inclusive. However, she might have merited the promotion according to the standards and criteria of the university; many such promotions are backdated because it takes time for the university senate to review the submitted qualifications and achievements.

I applied on Friday via GTB. Didn't get any debit alert whatsoever throughout Friday. Tried calling the account officer but he wasn't picking my calls. I checked my account balance today being Saturday via ATM and noticed that the entire amount is gone including the interest. Still yet to get any alert sms or email. The account officer is still not answering my calls. I'm just kinda confused here.

That doesn't sound right. On Monday afternoon if you still haven't seen any notification, you may escalate to the branch's email address; send a message to your account officer and CC the branch. You should have the email adresses in your online banking platform.

Please those who have purchased TBills via secondary market with GTB, What's the process like? Is the entire amount debited first before the upfront interest is credited back into the account? And how long does it take to credit the interest?

Contact your account officer to ask for their current rates for the various tenors, then specify which one you want. After your application is accepted, they will deduct the discounted amount (total invested less the pro-rated interest) followed by the VAT and custodial fee.

You will then have the face value (amount you requested to invest) indicated on your online banking platform. You will also see the tenor and maturity date indicated.

I purchased TB of 300k for 182 days at access bank today at the rate of %14. My thoughts was I would be debited around 258k but they just debited me 279,800.

I thought since it's at %14, I should be getting 42k

14% p.a. 182 days = half a year. I hope that solves your misery.

Africa Prudential registrar was the best. I filled the form on their website without a single paper, signed my signature with my phone, uploaded my nin id card and BVN and I was credited at the right time.

I am hoping First Registrars does the same. I have shareholdings in some companies they manage with e Dividend activated. I loaded some PRESCO units and filled in the eDividend form online with my signature. I have not heard back from them, but I'm hoping to get paid my bribe tomorrow when they pay.

How sure are you of this statement? I usually retain one unit of a company's shares whenever I want to maintain my dividend mandate with the registrar.

The discount rate is like the rate your account officer gives you when you ask for Tbills. Yield (rate) is the percentage of the amount you invest less the upfront earnings you make from the investment.

This is another common misunderstanding in Nigeria. Primary (and maybe secondary) education is the right of every child, even in advanced economies most of you use for comparative basis. In the US, people pay through their noses for college education; SAT, GRE, etc. are for-profit college entrance examinations (for undergraduate and graduate studies, respectively) that generate billions of USD annually. Quality education is essential for development, but education is not only obtainable in the four walls of tertiary education institutions. No, I think the system is beginning to work. There is no more rampant expos/runs as it used to be when people who could not properly spell/write their names scored 300+, denying more qualified candidates who wrote exams solely with their abilities admissions to choice programs of study.
