Buhari is Nigeria's WORST mistake! I wonder sometimes why he kept contesting to be president straight for over a decade & now he has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to offer. Nigeria is the worst it has ever been... under Buhari. I truly regret ever supporting the man. Cluelessness has never been better defined better than what Buhari is.

Foreign Affairs / Re: US Brands India’s Response To Ukraine War ‘Unsatisfactory by prettyboi1(m): 12:13pm On Mar 27, 2022

Int'l Politics is very funny and interesting. The leverage the US is exercising as a blackmail for many of the so called allies "trapped" in this anti Russian coalition is that Russia violated Ukraine's sovereignty (Which is correct).

Now, the same US is threatening the decisional sovereignty of many countries who dared to not buy it's endorsed response (Sanctions) against Russia.

What a paradox! It leads u to believe the theory of realists that when morality is at variance with a country's interests (as is sometimes is), the question of action will be decided by power and power plays. This is Russia's illegitimate fate over Ukraine. This is America's fate that opposed Cuba being USSR's proxy but support Ukraine's being NATO'S expansion.

This is int'l politics. Only emotionally overwhelmed folks choose a side and think they are on the path of justice grin

Your objectivity is what I love most about this post of yours. Interest supercedes emotions in these things as emotions would only set you up to be annihilated. On the other hand, what annoys me is the fact that the US would go any length for its own interest but turn around to pretend not to understand that every other country too would go any length for their own interests.

It certain sure Vladimir Putin will never end well, United States of America and all Nato member are definitely coming for him, just yesterday the world most powerful and the most strongest president Joe biden admit that Vladimir Putin can never be in power again, just watch and see what will happen to the most useless president in the world

Some of you are just slaves.... Nothing more than that. Who told you Joe Biden or any US president is/are "the most powerful man/men on earth". It's irritating that you guys just vomit what media & movies program you all to say. At least have a mind of your own to question things, to research things, to learn things & to be objective.

Well, as regards your claims towards Russia & Putin, it is clear that you know absolutely nothing about geopolitics and the world. If you knew better, you won't have said what you said. Even US knows better than to misbehave towards Russia. Russia is not one of those small countries that the US has bullied in the past.

Because Africa (particularly Nigeria) media space is dominated by pro-western perspective, many just find themselves hating Putin for no reason, the narrative that he is a warmonger, a mad man fits well with their biases, as its conludes and leaves no room for deep research without understanding the bigger picture. They've been spoon-fed all their life with western perspectives and are basically second class Europeans in worldview, even if they've never left Nigeria.

Most have never read a war book in their life about geopolitics from an historical landscape, have never been exposed or deliberately look out for other perspective from the Russians themesleves, also the indians, chinese etc, have never left the country, don't have foreign friends, don't speak a different global language apart from English, but somehow, they consider themselves war generals, because they have Internet, can use Google, they've become expert in geopolitical and global affairs.

Nothing will happen to Putin, and people in the west are crying already. Gas price have increased, and with Putin announcing that gas price must be paid on rubles, westerners are bracing for a hard time ahead. Mass protest are erupting all parts of Europe, and this winter will be hell if this things ain't solved. So called west have become a dictatorship.

For me I'm hoping Russia wins, so there will be a reshuffling of a new world order dominated by multiple powers. From 1991 to the 2010, just a space of twenty years when the US was a sole global power, the world tasted the evil that such world would be. Just in twenty years, Yugoslavia, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq was destroyed. There was no other power to checkmate the west, and it's only Time the fate of Syrians will happen to you in Nigeria, when your leaders go out of style. Perhaps this was why Nigeria immediately sanctioned Russia after the US asked themnto in the UN, because its afraid of offending its western masters.

Lots of US supporters are so used living in a Anglo dominated world, a world where they will forever be slaves and poor. Even if I'll fault our leaders for our bad system, the real problem is the global order, which is led by the west, and determines which country succeed and which does not, but like I said in the first paragraph, most don't even have a deeper knowledge of the scope and manners of how their world have been structured. Sad.

Beautifully and objectively stated.

Exactly! This is how the Ukrainian president (Zelensky) should have thought before the war started in order for Ukraine to both get what it wants & for all sides to be happy as opposed to putting his entire country at risk for something he can't win at.

The Canaanites lived on that land before they were conquered, some were taken as slaves, others were displaced as refugees.

The Canaanites are
1. Phoenicians (modern day Lebanon)
2. Philistines (wiped out by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 5th century BC)
3. Israelites

The Israelites want their land back.

It would interest you to know that modern day Iran has sworn to wipe out Israel from the map, and one would not blame the Israelites for trying to defend themselves.

All the above people you mentioned, are they Europeans? Lebanese people for instance are natives of that region & look like everybody else in that region. Do the present israelis look anything like Lebanese or people from other countries in that region? No!... Cos their ancestors are/were Europeans. Did you even search for the history of modern day Israel like I asked you to?

Good day Nairalander. I'm single, 30 years old. I studied agriculture related course at University level, and I presently worked in that field and I earned about 120k monthly.

I feel unfulfilled and I'm lacking interest day after day. The unfulfillment brewed mostly from my bosses egoistic and narcissistic approach to his employee, the insane working hours, and the lack of liberty, and most importantly, I feel I could do better. Now I have a meagre 2 million naira saved up, small? I know. Buy I'd like to pursue my passion in tech albeit from ground zero.

Now my dilemma is:

1. Seeing that I'm old and already past my prime for a career change at 30 yrs old, does a pursue of another career make sense?

2. Knowing that 2 million is small and would not last long. Does is it make sense to just up and leave?

3. I have a small biz I ideal which I feel could give me close to 50k monthly, but thing is, this is Nigeria and I might be wrong.

4. Should I just suck it up and continue for another year or two? Everyone I asked seems to think I should.

P,S. I worked 12 hours a day and its impossible I merge the two together.

I'd be honest with you, as much as you don't think so much of yourself at this moment, I personally admire you simply because of how you're feeling now. It takes an ambitious person to feel the way you're feeling now & so I would like to encourage you to not see yourself as little. Time is all you need & sooner than later, you would achieve bigger things if you keep up with doing your own part. Blessings to you man.

If you search the history on that land, it was 1st occupied by the Canaanites a group made up of Israelites, Philistines, and a third I can't recall the name.

The Philistines were wiped out during one of the conquests led by a monarchy from the East, the rest were displaced, and the people of Palestine occupied the land.

... & then persecuted European jews from Europe were moved by the UN in an exodus to a carved-out land that belonged to Palestinians. Instead of staying within the limits of the carved-out land that the UN settled them on to, they've been trespassing & taking more of the lands of the natives. Have you ever noticed why it's only the Israelis that look different in the Middle-East? That's cos they are ancestrally Europeans. This present day Israel was created in 1948.
Before the UN moved them to the Middle-East to carve out a country for them, one of the options considered for the UN to carve out a land for them was Uganda. So, you see? Today's Israel might as well have even been in Africa (precisely East Africa) if the UN settled to carve land out for them from Uganda. All of these things I have told you are verifiable. Research on them.

How is this dumb? Do some research for yourself. For instance, a few days ago, Russian forces
uncovered an American biolab hidden in Ukraine. The same US always denied that. Considering now that they (US) have been caught, expect to hear in a few days something like "Russians blame to use chemical weapons against Ukraine".

Lastly, Russia doesn't plan to occupy Ukraine so they don't need the land. The charred land would be the dumb Ukrainian government's problem & responsibility.

Buhari is the father of poverty, I've been saying that for a while now. You can argue & say oil prices are determined by the global market, if you do that, you would also have to tell me if inflation & breakdown of everything are sold on a global market. Now, it's obvious that Buhari only wanted to be Nigeria's president only for the title, he clearly had no vision for the country the 4 times he ran. As terrible as Goodluck Jonathan performed as president, Buhari has even outperformed him(Goodluck) in terrible performance.

Honestly I don't understand why Muslims, especially Yoruba Muslims are so excited that Russia invaded and bombing Ukraine without a humanly justifiable reason.

Dear reasonable Yorubas, you guys need to wake up oh, the Muslim fanatists amongst you are hell bent on turning Yoruba land to Syria.

Imagine them up there cursing Zelensky and blaming him for a war he didn't start.

Most of them don't even have full knowledge of the crises. How do you expect a President of another soverign nation to happily and willingly sign that part of his country (Creamea) you forcefully seized from him and annexed since 2014 to amen his nation's constitution to accept that that annexed region belongs to you Russia? As if that's not enough, you sponsored more regions (Doneskt and Luhansk) to breakaway and you also want Ukraine President to formally acknowledge those two regions as independent regions and that Ukraine will never lay claim on them ever again. A President like you, how is all these possible without negotiations and some agreements? Because of that you leveled several accusations against them and just invaded them killing both military and civilians and yet some foolish inhumane souls are cheering Putin on just cos of religion.

Russia never agreed boldly that if Ukraine do this they would attack. There was still negotiations going on since last year. Putin promised the world that he won't attack Ukraine that there was no reason to, that his military were only carry out routine drills.

NATO this and that, Ukraine haven't joined NATO and its not as if NATO would have accepted Ukraine that wanted to join with a huge military burden. And joining NATO doesn't even take months, it takes some countries years to fully comply with the requirements just like joining European Union.

And if Putin had a justifiable reason to invade Ukraine why is he telling Russians in Russia lies that he only went there to help Ukraine defeat Fascists and Neo Nazi militants? Why cant he be bold enough like every other country to show Russians the wonderful work Russian military is doing in Ukraine? Why is he blocking news channels and free media from showing live video streaming of the invasion of Ukraine to Russian citizens in Russia?

Yet inhumane, heartless Nigerians on this forum who are mostly Muslims are rejoicing over this and cursing, blaming and shutting Ukrainian President up, to what benefit?

This is really disturbing.

This injustice some of you are foolishly cheering, be careful, life is mysterious more than you ever think. Dont think you are in a safe haven, before you support inhumanity against fellow humans think twice, life is beyond what you think or see

Keep quiet & stop being ignorant on an issue you know absolutely nothing about. You're the religious bigot here... What has religion got to do with this war? Both Putin & Zelensky are Christians, both majority of Russians & Ukrainians are Christians. Also, most people here that support Russia are not Muslims. This war is a proxy war between US/NATO & RUSSIA & the stupiiiidtt president of Ukraine, Zelemsky chose to be a pawn that was used to provoke Russia.

For decades, Russia had warned western countries about what is now happening as Russia had mentioned its valid security concerns to them but they refused to heed. Even Ukrainian presidents before Zelensky found how to balance their relationship between western countries & Russia. Zelensky's inexperience was capitalized on by the west & they used him to poke Russia & now that a war has started, they've all abandoned him to his fate. Don't come here talking about what you know nothing about. A good number of us here knew some of the issues related to how this war started years ago. Today that the war has started, you're forming armchair general. Zelensky knows what to do if he cares about Ukraine & Ukrainians.
