The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, announced the sack of his in-law, the Deputy General Manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA Aba Zone, Rowland Nwakanma, early thursday.

In a government press release by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr Chris Ezem, Ikpeazu also dissolved “all LG Waste Management Zonal Heads in Aba except Aba-Owerri Road, Ikot Ekpene Road and Express”.

The governor however directed that “all sweepers in these areas are not affected and should continue the discharge their daily duties of keeping the roads clean”.

Ikpeazu further directed the State Commissioner for Environment, Sam Nwogu to take over and oversee waste management in the zones. The governor mandated the commissioner to “immediately advertise for the engagement of professional waste managers to handle the various zones”.

“Government will henceforth, not condone any lapses in waste management in Aba and Umuahia, and immediately expect immediate evacuation of all residual wastes in all locations around the cities of Aba and Umuahia without any delay”, Ikpeazu warned.

Earlier in the month, the ASEPA General Manager, Hon. Eze Okwulehie was in less than two hours, removed due to a reported radio commentary made by him. Okwulehie told the radio station that all the requests made the agency to deploy its duties effectively were not honoured by the relevant financial authorities in the state.

so without maintenance , without paying anyone salary it would take 118 years to break even ......if we add salary n maintenance then you are looking at 300 years plus

We can give the top 10 ceramics importers $20 million each to build plants n stop importing ceramics .....this would save us $2 billion dollars yearly , plus boast GDP with over $3bn using only $200 million

Another $200million can be used to set up 10 cassava to ethanol factory giving that as loan to the biggest cassava farming unions ....we can be the biggest ethanol producer in the world ...with a potential to export over $2 billion ethanol and produce for local use also ...plus over 20,000 jobs

Same $200 million can be used to set up 10 to 20 cassava to glucose/ethanol plants ....we taking of a $70 billion dollars market we have absolutely great comparative advantage ...capture 15% of that that's over $10 billion a year industry

First, about Peter Obi’s legacy in Anambra, I want you to go to Upper Iweka and shout that Peter Obi did nothing in Anambra. Even at the height of the political war between Obi and Obiano, Obiano has never, and I mean NEVER, questioned Obi’s legacy in Anambra because he knows Anambra people will come for him if he dares.

Second, about IGR, high IGR equals to high taxation. That’s a socialist principle. Peter Obi is a core capitalist with a believe in a market driven economy and not a tax driven economy. In Tinubu’s time as governor in Lagos, because of OBJ’s withholding of FG allowances to Lagos, Tinubu started taxing all taxable entity in Lagos just to survive. But Peter Obi being an economist knows that high taxes kills startups and SMEs. If Peter Obi wanted Anambra IGR to hit the roof while he was Anambra governor, he would have done. His not doing it is not lack of capacity but because of a believe in different economic principle of how a state should be run.

Lastly, about the boys Peter Obi has raised in Anambra, I beg to tell you that Igbos don’t build empire and we don’t play Baba Sope politics in the East. If anything, he installed Obiano to succeed him and when he wanted to go against Obiano Anambra people refused. Not because they have forgotten what Peter Obi did for them but because Igbos in entirety despise being tele-guided. Or can you tell an Igbo politician who has “raised boys” in the sense you wanna look at in comparison to Tinubu?

Take Peter Obi off your mouth. Your conscience knows, Nigerians know and the world knows that if Peter Obi rules this country that he will turn it around for good unlike Tinubu who will be more interested in “raising boys” than governance. Look at the mess Lagos is with the nuisance of motor park touts and “owomida” urchins; that’s what he will turn Nigeria into. God forbid!

Lagosians should beg Tinubu to stop collecting 10% of their taxes through Alpha Beta Consulting he awarded a monopoly against conflict of interest when he was Governor in 2003 to collect Lagos state taxes against best practices and competitive bidding.

After collecting his 10% tithe from Lagos state taxes, he leaves the remaining 90% to be shared by 20 million people.
