These situations are always dicy. I'm referring to payment of balance on drawings

I'll share an experience: I contracted an architect to produce a drawing for a duplex, payment 80% was paid upfront for the job. I told the architect to produce drawing in accordance to govt town planning specifications.

After the final drawing was sent and balance paid, The client took the drawing to town planning, and they requested some changes to pass approval.

Do you know the architect then requested more money to make those changes and refused to modify the work?

So I can understand the need to review the final drawings before the final payment is made.

My 2 cents: As a service provider (especially with things that don't require materials) your work is your legacy and represents you even when you aren't there, you should be willing to make modifications to your work within a sensible time frame. In this case, someone who was willing to pay a person 75% of the funds in trust, will definitely pay the balance. I'm sure he is trying to avoid the situation I mentioned above.

And as many people have stated here, fighting with a client/customer is never a good idea regardless.

@brickdevo In business we all have wins & loses no matter how much due diligence you adopt, it is just how life is. If the client decides to play funny, count it as a loss and keep doing your great work. No shake, the universe that brought you this client will bring more.

1150 x 900 is sliding window with sliding net

700 x 2100 is a standard bathroom door with key

The 100k is for permanent net.. which I'm not considering anymore for now, I will source for cheaper alternative

Depends on the floor the blocks are being laid, generally the higher you go the more it cost.

If you are on the ground floor, depending on location it can range from 60-80 per block.

Avoid the ones with 2.0 Engine and V6(except it's foreign used installed with VCM MUZZLER), watch out for the catalyst or better still install spacers, check the condition of engine, transmission, electrical, air-conditioning, signs of rust, check the chassis(if accidented and badly affected)and finally before interior and exterior condition.

If the budget was available Then I might as well go for tokumbo direct import. Even Gazzuzz sold one around August asking was 2.4 so it probably sold around 2m-2.4m

What I really wanted to know , if what kind of problems/signs to look out for specific to that 2009 accord.

From my experience work with different clients on various projects I’ve learned a few things to reduce stories that touch :

- always do research and due diligence before engaging anyone for work. Go and visit their former or current projects , don’t rely on pictures.

- get a quote for the same job from a minimum of 3 people. And don’t be afraid to enter market to find out prices

- ask plenty questions because it is your money at risk. A good number of vendors lack integrity and don’t care if you lose $, their only concern is their pockets.

This is key

- As I always suggest to my clients, always get someone to watch your contractors preferably an independent consultant. Like those invigilators during final exam lol if anybody tries to do ojoro they will chop koboko

The fault might also lie in depending on our building codes alone for guidance instead of copying best practices from elsewhere - by that I mean, meeting the standards of our building codes, but exceeding them in the interest of the client and their own professional integrity.

That said there are houses being built in Nigeria, and I have been to a few that do not have problems with water and mold - not the house and not the fence. There must be something different that those guys are doing that ensures that never happens.

I think most of these practices in the Video posted are mostly adopted in commercial builds in which water rising up has been considered from the beginning.

For some it is an after thought when the problem has already set in. it is not a usual practice to put this many preventive layers. The mould/damp shows up years after building is complete when builder has left, owner has sold the building.
