Oga, give account of the money from oil, gas, litheum, gold, etc. U all as govt took away everythng god gave us as gift, yet u still want to take from our income. Is that not wickedness? What have u done with the VAT and resources money in billions and trillions? Where are they?

Democracy is one of the biggest scams of government: using your own hand to vote for people who clearly do not have your interests at heart.
I am also on the opinion that humans need to reaccess this conceptt of leadership. I will prefer a return to era where only the strongest should lead. Not these lazy ass who cause wars, then send masses to go and fight and die. Then sit back, and get paid heavily by the masses. Rubbish!

With the Minister of Finance we currently have, a tax expert, I am afraid things will not change. It's one thing for us to learn the education that was given to us, it's another thing to know who we are and what works for us. Many times what we often do is copy a western system to an African environment without thinking about the underlying issues. The result is obvious.
You are a smart person. Africans dont need western style. We have everything, like bro, every damn thing.
Now, imagine security is fixed and we can use agriculture well, that will solve a lot of problems. Instead of tackling security, these moda fukas feel that increasing income tax to 25% is the way to go in a country where citiznes are so poor, and the moda fukas are proud to cap tax threshhold at 800k per year? Like how na? Anyone earning 800k per year in Nigeria of today is not living, the person is dead.
I am so ashamed of my leaders. They wrecked lives and destinies. People lives and destinies wasted.

Questions, questions, questions.
But the answers lie in the concrete roads from Lagos to Calabar and from Badagry to Sokoto....if anyone feels offended they should tell me exactly what key investment the government has made in this country to affect the citizens positively. Citizens from which they have taken much...taken almost all....

The answer to all the questions above lie in three simple words. Poor Quality Governance
Government have taken every thing from me. My life and everything. Nigerians have accepted to sleep in darkness and in heat. Why? Why such a wicked governance system? The politicians sleep and wake up in AC every damn night, but wants me to sleep inside heat. If u have a wife and a child and see them sleep in heat, in mosqutoes, every night, u will cry. U will cry like u brought these people to suffer.
This is why I run generator all night!
Politicians exposed me to such suffering and stil dey ask me for 25 percent of the income I sources abroad to pay to Nigeria. Like why? why?

I was just being sarcastic. Thanks for your analysis, I like it. I wrote something like that this January 👇
I love the piece u wrote, very smart and intelligent. I keep saying this same thing. We have no business paying income tax. Like no way. Eurpeans never had the type of resources we have. All we need is proper management of our resources, use the income from resources and build public infrastrcuture, not to pay politicians and their families so well.
Build our educational system so we can start converting our raw resources into finished goods. Like our lithium into batteries instead of selling the material alone to China. But no, these muda fukers think that taxing me up to 25 percent is the best. Just copyying Europeans blindly. Europeans wont be this wicked to their people if they have half of what Africans have. Africans have land for agriculture. Like mad, we can be self sufficient. I honestly dont know who cursed this continent and her leaders and people.
An oil and gas rich nation taxing her citiznes 25 percent is mindblowing. Like mind blowing, after still taxing VAT, import, banking services, everything we get from FG, we pay for it such as drivers lincense, VISA, all documents are paid for. So, WTF is this guy's doing exactly?
All Nigeria needs is proper resource management, cut down on the too much money spent on politicians and block corruption to the core. none of these politicians want to work actually. That is the honest truth

I read and liked your post last night, but reading this comment of yours that I'm quoting here, I'm sorry to say you're mistaken.

The reason why there's hardship in the country is because of two things: Subsidy removal on fuel and Forex.

Which of those two things has Peter Obi come out to say he would bring back? Why didn't he do these things you're praising him here for when he was the governor of Anambra state. He loves education so much but, as a governor, he increased school fees for Anambrans. I want to believe you're not one of those unruly bullies called Obedients, so answer the question logically and not emotionally.

Listen, none of Tinubu, Obi, and Atiku have the answer to the troubles bedeviling the Nigeria. The foundation on which this country is built is faulty. And to correct that foundation might require something very uncomfortable like a forced restructuring, revolution, or war (God forbid).

You really negated your initial post by presenting Peter Obi as the solution to the things you labelled up there.
Let me explain two things I believe in:
I strongly believe that Nigeria's structure is bad and I have always preached about it here. And bullying? Na, not my thing. But it makes me laugh when people say supporters of Obi are bullies. I have never identified my self with any tag or any group. I am not a group person. But it is funny when some say this becuase the grandmasters of online bullies were APC, they unleashed the online bullying and tribalism way back before the 2015 elections. I was so young then and was confused at how politics became such a bitter experience. So, I dont blame some Obi movements who inherited exactly what APC dished out, they did worse, protests, casket image of the president, dog and name calling, etc. Let leave that aside, not the focus of this. I only replied that comment based on question.
I strongly believe that until Nigeria leaders start to fear the masses, they wont do the right thing. See, to fix Nigeria mainly is by increasing her production capacity from a dependant and importing economy and u can achieve this by investing money where u need to invest it, not by spending heavily on politicians.
We spend so much on politicians, so we simply sit back and consume.
Corruption is so high which makes investment into key areas bad.
Now, if we get a system where the politicians get to understand that if thhe people suffer from their policies, they will be voted out. We want a country where 8 years is not a right. U can be voted out, once we get that, we have solved one problem and a huge one.
That way, politicians will begin to fight hard to please the massses and not the politicians.
Do u understand the system we have now? It is pure elitist and that is what Tinubu presents. It was a mistake to vote back Buhatri after that such a failure. We should stop rewarding failure.
Vote this one out, let anyone take over, period. If that one failes after 4 years, vote him out.
What do we use to measure success?
Simple, we want better security
we want proper healthcare system
we want higher purchasing power
we want corruption serioulsly tackled.
We want our public schools getting back to shape where I wont need to send my kids to private school for them to get good quality education.
We can achieve all these within 4 years if corruption is dealt a serious blow. And Obi has hammered so hard on this.
Look if u fix electricity now, hardship will reduce. Yes, it will reduce.
Fuel subsidy problem was due to smugglers, attend to that. if u must remove fuel subsidy, then tell us exactly where the money will go and how u intend to track that they are spent exactly where needed. Not to increase the money for governors, then the governors wil be happy, join ur team and help u win elections and they wont be tried or persecuted for wasting public fund. It is like stealing from us to make the elites happy.
So, I only answered a question asked, Obi is not the only opposition. I dont't know if it was u who asked the question or someone else. I only replied to that question. From all candidates that I have seen, I like Sowere more due to his idealogies.
The question targeted Obi and I replied on that. For Obi, I like his focus on education, production driven economy, interest in electricity and cutting governance cost. Some of u dont know how much we will save as a nation if we fix corruption, cut down cost of running Nigeria, we will save billions.
Bro, one person dey loot 35billion for Nigeria, that money can fix lot of electricity issue.
Tinubu has no plan for corruption. Like nothing! He is interested in tax which is purely capitalist mindset. I have studied him and see that he is an elitist. Go and read that up. Such people are dangerous and can hold on to power for long if not resisted. It is same pathern the Europeans used to conquer us. Simply make few people happy and they will control the rest. Elitist system is what powers Africans presidents who stay in power for long.
So, in summary and in logics. I support complete destruction of Nigeria's current system, Yes. But before that can happen, we need a leader who truly wants the best for the masses, not an elitist.
So, I believe in two things: ensure politicians start to fear the masses due to election. No body should make two terms their birth right. They have made it so now, we dont want that.
Secondly, we want a system that tackles the following:
Corruption
Electricity
Cut down on cost of running Nigeria which pays politicians so well via mouth watering packages.
Increase our purchasing power
Invest heavily in our educational system so that our kids, not us anymore can have a better and reliable future, these ones don already waste our future, anyone above 15 years future don kpai aready. The investment in education is for younger generation

U people just hate tinubu cos it's not your own that is there, the bad news I have for u is that either u like it or not tinubu will rule ur papa till 2031
Hahaha, student loan abroad is for people who arent able to pay fee and many preaches against it. U are copying abroad format when the abroad economies have high paying jobs to pay back the loans and yet, people are preaching against it. I cna share with you videos of people against it and how it is a death trap. Now, I have come to realize how u people think. So, u guys just copy blindly European style, no wonder he has been on tax matter. But u guys fail to copy the European strong anti corruption system, a system that wreck havoc on currupt officials. U guys wont copy the strong system of separation of power where the legislative dont go about ass licking executive.
U wont copy the true independency of the judiciary grin
U wont copy freedom to protest, independency of the electorial system. No, na foolish things una dey always copy.
Baba, simple question, tell me why I should vote Tinubu, not loan matter, leave laon, na loan e be. People go pay back if they will even see jobs that wil pay them well. That is how crazy una team can be. U copied a system but didnt copy that the system requires high paying job ecomomy and high purchasing power to flourish and it is a debt trap which many only resort to as last option.
Like I always say, most people in this country are not exposed, not smart and are easily decieved by politicians.
I want to know why I should vote him regarding:
Electricity
healthcare
Quality education
Public health and education quality
purchasing power of citizens
corruption
Electoral reform
police reform
security
Housing

These are the cards and indexes used to rate any government, not these rubbish u are talking.
Are most Nigerians richer under him or poorer?
From the comments u can see that people became poorer, people standard of living went down. So, u can see, that is what counts.
Not taking loan to attend a wack university withh poor educational system and no hope of securing well paying jobs.

People like you are the reason these politicians keep staying in office even when they’ve clearly failed to perform or deliver results. If politicians knew they had only one term to prove they truly deserve a second, they would take governance more seriously. But people like you, driven by ethnic bias and religious sentiments, would rather support an underperforming politician just so they can complete an 8-year tenure. With this mindset, it’s hard to see hope for Nigeria, and sometimes I can’t help but question why God placed me in the same part of the world with people who think like you.
Like bro, i wish to see face to face people like that guy's comment u quoted, like who dey heck told them that two term is a birth right?
I have said this many times, we need to learn to chase politicians out after one term and learn to investigate pass presidents and governors. Why has no ex president tried? Why cant they be tried? How can these men mess up Nigeria and go freely? It is like u cant try these men, why? But each day they keep making laws that suffocate us the masses but can never make laws that suffocate the politicians.
Until politicians learn to fear the masses, we cant achieve anything. By the time we remove two parties, like we need a system where if the president fails, we remove all memebers of his party across the country. If we do it three times, others will learn.

You don't pay enough taxes for development. That's why.
We have been paying taxes, my father and mother all paid, we pay taxes such as VAT in billions and trillions, we pay all types of bank levies and taxes, importation taxes, income taxes. The only sector not paying much of income tax remains the self employed sector. And income tax is not the only tax, Nigerians have been paying tax since colonial master came.
And Nigeria has mad resources that we dont need to pay such heavy taxes. What the new tax he brought does is widen those who will pay especially those who work online who were not captured in thhe previous tax law. As the previous tax law stated that u pay income tax on income earned/sourced within Nigeria. This put out thhose who earned money from abroad for paying income tax but they paid all other taxes such as VAT, property taxes, etc. We have been paying tax. And Nigeria has made mad money, but our problem is corruption and wastage. And extremely dependant economy. U are taxing heavily a country that imports everything.
Let me give u one idea, imagine we have a secured country where u and I can farm. Imagine in each family, one person is a farmer in large scale. We will have enough to crash food prices and export a lot to nearby countries which will boost the power of naira.
U can only grow when u export more finished products, not by importing everything.
Now, u need electricity for industrialization. He is not doing anything in electricity and security. These two are important for self sufficient economy buut he is focued on widen tax. Who dey Bleep told him that? Europeans grew their industries before heavy taxation and that is because they have not much resources.
One person in Nigeria will loot 30Biliion. This is the real issue, nigeria has money, it is wasted on political packages, and corruption. They will spend 350million on library renovation and u will check, u wont see any renovation. They will use 750 million to build govt website. These are the issues.

The problem of Nigeria is not something any of the incoming candidates can solve infact not even peter obi.
The structure of the country itself won't even allow it to progress.

Current democracy we practicing is too expensive.

What do we even need a bicameral legislature for?
Legislators should be working part time.

We should go back to parliamentary system of government.

We should a create a new constitution with stiffer penalties for corruption.
There are two things I like about Obi for now: He is known for prudent, which means all these wastefullness he will tackle it.
He believes so much in education. Bro, if we had invested heavily in STEM based education over the years, all these rubbish we produced as citizens would have not happened.
He also believes so much in fixing electricity and production economy. Tinubu is more of a tax master, very terrible. I like Obi's idea about taxation which is like a social contract which should happen after provision of social services. Like borrow to fix electricity, then once electricity is working, tax for the electricity to make money to pay back the loan.
But this one wants to tax u ontop providing nothing. That is evil.

I dont even want to mention fuel for car, fuel for generator is already choking, on car fueling, bro, I am hitting 200k now. Roughly 50k per week. Na why I said seems the man wants us all to sell our V6 cars and buy corolla. What type of human is this? He is not cutting down on his own enjoyment but wants me to cut down on mine, suffer and pay him tax. Like how?
On a serious note, this man should have make do with VAT and leave income tax for now. The truth of the matter is that over 97 percent of Nigerians wont have any savings at the end of the year not to talk of savings for tax. Except they are ready to completely live like poor people. The currency is so weark now.

PoliticsGive Me One Reason I Should Vote Tinubu Again by Princedapace(op): 8:00pm On May 16
I was battling with network issues recently, and it reminded me how difficult it has become to survive here. There is no stable electricity. Most of us survive on generators.

South Africa achieved significant progress in electricity within two years, yet after four years, nothing meaningful has changed here. It is still the same story and the same daily struggle.

Now, remove emotions for a moment and look at the reality:

A kilogram of gas is about ₦1,400. That is extremely high for a country with very low salaries.
A crate of eggs is between ₦5,500 and ₦6,000.
A bag of cement is around ₦12,000. This is one of the reasons house rent has skyrocketed, because many citizens can no longer afford to build homes.
Renting a 2-bedroom apartment in most state capitals now starts from about ₦2.5 million and above. That is insane for a country where the majority of citizens are struggling financially.
Fuel is around ₦1,400 per litre.

Fuel powers our generators. If you run two businesses, you may need two generators.

For someone like me who works online, I need electricity almost 24/7. A huge part of my income goes into fueling and servicing generators because, most nights, my generator runs till morning. I work with clients across different time zones, sometimes at 2AM.

What does all of this mean?

Our purchasing power has dropped drastically.

Yet, despite these realities, the tax burden keeps increasing.

I honestly want to ask: does the government truly understand what Nigerians are going through?

Even someone earning ₦25m–₦30m yearly in today’s Nigeria is not necessarily living comfortably. A large percentage of that income already goes into solving basic social problems and surviving.

You pay for:

Electricity
Security
Healthcare
Transportation
Water
Education

Everything.

So where exactly is the money left to pay huge taxes from?

How many Nigerians can genuinely save millions yearly after handling all their responsibilities as parents, children, and providers?

To survive, many people are already being forced to reduce their quality of life:

Cutting down electricity usage despite terrible heat
Moving children from good schools
Switching from bottled water to sachet water
Selling better cars for cheaper alternatives because of fuel costs
Cancelling vacations and basic comfort

The painful part is that many self-employed Nigerians hustle endlessly just to stay afloat, yet at the end of the year, they are still expected to pay heavy taxes.

One of my friends, despite earning what many would call “good money,” is already in debt because of school fees and living expenses. Yet, government expectations are based only on income figures, not the harsh realities behind those figures.

And remember, this is a country where many parents depend on their children financially just to survive.

Honestly, many leaders cannot relate to what ordinary Nigerians are facing because:

Their electricity is sorted
Their security is sorted
Their healthcare is sorted
Their feeding is sorted

So they may never truly feel the pain of the average citizen.

Dear Nigerian leaders, Nigerians are suffering.

We are exhausted.

What could be done differently?

Reduce excessive tax burdens. Maybe 3 percent for now. Please, this country is poor or increase the threshold to maybe 50m per year if you truly wants to target the rich for income tax.
Fix electricity.
Tackle corruption seriously.
Improve security so farmers can return to farms safely.
Support the tech economy so more young people can earn online.
Invest in skills and digital opportunities.
Cut down excessive government spending and luxury packages for politicians.

Nigeria is a poor country with multidimensional poverty. In many homes, one working person carries the burden of an entire extended family.

Tax should not be the first priority when citizens are already struggling to survive.

As I write this now, my area is in complete darkness again. Families will spend heavily on fuel tonight just to have light for a few hours.

So I ask again: after paying for survival, where exactly should the tax money come from?

We are tired.

The bills are too much.

please can someone push this to front page?

I want to understand why the sacrfice must be done by the suffering masses instead of the politicians. I am curios to know why. Why must I suffer what I didn't cause?

Over 25 percent of their lands under russia is massive and dont forget, Ukrain is the largest land in Europe. So, that 25% is huge.
Ukrain also has the largest military in Europe, has massive funding from US, Europe and gets intel, training and politics from US, and Europe. Omo, that is enough for anyone to actually win a war. Infact, if Biafra had such support or even half of it, they would have gained independence and left this shithole since.

Which internal security? I believe the northerners have invaded our land and they have positioned their people in our midst. Even here in Lagos, I believe we have been compromised. 90% of motorcycle riders in some areas are the northerners. To what end?
That is why when I see Igbos and yorubas fight over stupid things, I luagh. The fulanis, not Hausas actualy want this land. They dont have any, our lands are rich. Both east and west are rich. We both lack nothing, the fulanis have nothing. They are happy with the fact that east and west keep fighting. Well, by the time they are done with us, maybe both east and west will become muslims and slaves. They attacked a place in Umuahia recently.
Also, this is why I am in support of South Africans calling on illegal migrants to leave, and low skilled workers to leave. Unlike us who are less concerned about the invaders from Sahel who have wrecked havoc on us. Make we continue to play.

We should endeavor to blacklist any news coming from SA here.
Bunch of xenophobic ingrates.
Since we saved them, we should save our selves. I always wondering how we could save another country and cant save our selves since that we dont have ordinary light. See University strcuture na, the entire country called Nigeria has nothing close to this.

One senator from far Borno is sharing money in his constituency and you're spitting saliva over nothing.

Jump into the Lagoon if you're not happy with the Borno Senator

Sharing allocation money meant for the whole constituency to your party faithfuls publicly for a religious celebration.
Naija is on the road of no return...
It is a useless country with balless citizens. These few old men who cant stand any young man on one on one fight just messed up our destinies and future and that of our kids and we keep quiet.
Honestly, Kanu did no wrong then. This country is useless.

PoliticsRe: You Can’t Demand Development Without Paying Tax, Says Tinubu by Princedapace(m): 10:54am On May 16
Stephen0mozzy:
We know that one.
What we're saying remains the same thing that has not been answered.

1. You don't have the justification to ask for tax when you and have not shown evidently across the citizenry how current taxes have been utilized.

2. Why are overbearing need for tax as if we're a country without any natural resources? What are we doing with all the oil we have? The Vat? The IGR? The incessant loans?

He that must come to equity must come with clean hands. Why ask us not to complain about tax, when even after taxing me, my street is flooded when it rains, my salary can't even take me to the hospital clinic two times for medical checkup, I'm providing my own electricity, I've dug my own borehole.
I dont understand why this country is mad, I really wish to interview these mad leaders. Why are people scared of asking them questions?
Nigeria has aboundant resources and make mad money out of them... from gold, to lithium, to coal, to oil, to mind blowing gas reserves, to mind blowing agriculatral lands, empty fucking lands that can comfortably feed west africa.
But these mad men leave what should be a focus. Agriculture can feed this nation and give us something huge to export and make good money and strengthen naira. Instead of focusing on decentralized policing and border control to mitigate against rural insecurity which has destroyed our farmlands, these mad men wont do that. They rather look for more tax to fund their useless lives.
Look at how much it cost Nigerians to maintain policians for life who seerved just 4 years.
Like it cost a lot. Mouth watering packages for national assembly members, state, governors, ex governors, ex presidents, etc. Billions of naira.
They wont look at that. They are lying to us that more tax means more development. Liess!
I want someone who defend Tinubu to challenge me on this.
Nigeria is rich, we need to stop fight corruption.
He complained of smuggling as one of the reasons they removed fuel subsidy... Oga, so u cant end smuggling? Like u cant have a better border control, efficient security system. U are copyying europeans who have no resources and relied on taxation to survive.
U are copying taxation of Europeans but we are heavy dependant of importation. DO u know what what that means? It means we will suffer. If we were heavy producers of what we consume, relatively tax of about 7 percent would be fair. But we import almost everything, now u want us to pay 25 percent. That means we are dying.
First step sir:
tackle security so people can farm in modern way, produce what we need and export the rest.
Tackle electricity so that there will be 24/7 electricity which will boost productivity.
Decentralize police and border control to reduce insecurity.
Work on making corruption a capital offence like in China!
Invest in education, not student loan. We need high quality education programme so that the loan will be worth it. Education foced on STEM.
What can be done to create jobs via Sport and health care? These are billion dollar industries.
All our natural resources money should be used more to fund capital projects and nt to pay politicians salaries and their packages.
When u do these, our purchasing power increases, u can now introduce 5% tax because Nigeria is rich. Our problem is leakages and corruption. Not taxing the very few Nigerians making small amount of money and relies on imported goods for survivor. Do u know what it means to be paying 25% of ur income while importing everythhing?

Demcratic Republic of Congo is super rich with even smaller population. Some of the best resources on earth comes from there and billions made out of it. But they have some of the poorest citizens on earth. So, do u think if they increase their tax base to 60% the country will develop?
Lol, it wont. Corruption and leakages are the problem. Stop copying European models.
Foreign AffairsRe: ISIS Leader, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki Killed By US & Nigerian Forces - Trump by Princedapace(m): 9:03am On May 16
seunmsg:
This is a big victory for Nigeria. Congratulations to the Nigerian and American forces that pulled off the operation. At least, the rest of the world can see that Nigeria is not a disgraceful country. We are a country of exceptional human beings who are willing to cooperate with the international community to deal with all existential threats to the good of humanity.

I am also glad that President Trump recognizes the complexities of the mission despite the collaboration between the two countries. Fighting terrorism is always complex even for the richest and most equipped army in the world.

Now, imagine what Nigeria alone has to face in dealing with the various security challenges facing the country. In our case, it is even more complex since we don’t have the kind of intelligence gathering capabilities, high tech equipment, and endless funding capacity like the US. In addition, we still have to manage the ethnic, religious and political angle of fighting these terrorists. With irresponsible opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi who are always quick to downplay the effort of the military and spin military success against terrorists to killing of innocent civilians, it even becomes more complex.

Overall, kudos to President Trump and President Tinubu for working together on this. With more cooperation, a lot more can be achieved.
So, it took another country, the US to threaten ur country president to protect Nigeria, right? And u are here capping rubbish. Like, do some of u think that every Nigerian has low IQ? I dont understand. U guys should be ashamed that the US has to lead a force to eliminate this person. And it took the US to force ur country to take lives serious? Like arent u ashamed? Like e got somethings una supposed no dey comment on. Bro, if e sure for u engage me why u are celebrating rubbish? Like so, China now, will wait for America before protecting citizens? I dont understand some of u. Nigeria govt started taking thhis shit serious when Trump threatened them. They have seeen his capacity to eliminate presidents, now ur president started corporating. Like America soldiers run this country's operations is a big shame bro.
