Earlier this today, popular Nollywood actor, Kate Henshaw, reported on Twitter how a  “somebody” – a euphemism for VIP – stopped his convoy and came down to urinate in public.

In Nigeria, public urination is a common feature on our streets and roads.

People – especially men – empty their bladders in the full glare of the public, and with total disregard for the law against such practice.

In Lagos State, the government continues its efforts towards achieving a mega city status for the state.  However, poor sanitation and open defecation continue to blight the city’s drive towards this achievement.

Sadly, the government has done little to provide sufficient decent public toilets. The lack of public toilets robs people of their dignity.

It has been said that eateries and filling stations are compelled by law to keep their toilets neat and make them available to members of the public. However, compliance with this law is very poor.

People have also suggested that Banks, churches, mosques and other ubiquitous concerns should also be mandated to make their toilets available to the public in order to check this trend.

A school of thought maintains that even if these places make their toilets available to the public, the culture of public urination would still persist, as it has been ingrained in our subconscious.

So, who can we blame for the people urinating in public: the government or the people?

Hello Gurus. Thank you guys for all you do here. I have been a silent reader here for about 2 years now and I can say I'm finally ready to give Deutschland a go. I am a recent graduate that is due to go for Nysc by june/July this year but I also intend to process the application, I plan on leaving if the opportunity presents itself and everything falls thru. My question is will the absence of nysc certificate among my certs cause any trouble. Is the nysc certificate compulsory at the embassy for MSc applications. Please respond. Thank you.

A.L = Admission letter, i got admission late January, 2 admission actually. Ilmenau & Chemnitz

Interview = 22nd February, incomplete funds, no birth certificate and no courier envelope. I was given until 1st of March to update these documents.

26th feb: i went to submit these document.
I used Chemnitz for my application.Resumption: 1st April. enrollment deadline: 26th April.

feb 26 - March 26:waiting waiting
March 26: i called the embassy and they i should send mail
March 27: i sent embassy a mail, NO REPLY
waiting waiting
April 1st : sent another mail, No reply
April 2nd : sent another mail, No reply
April 2nd : Mailed my alien office
Alien office: we have your documents here, please send us your blocked account confirmation so we can finish the process

April 3rd: mailed alien office
Alien office: we have sent your approval to the embassy, contact them for more information.
Sharply i mailed embassy, No reply.
April 4th: i called embassy that i have sent them several mails but no response
they said the mails is irritating that i should hold on for their response.

April 8th, 8:59am: Received mail to bring my passport and 6 months Insurance stating my travel date.

I don go give them Jare.

I dont know so very much about Germany but i did 90% of the whole process on my own.
It would be a great pleasure to assist anyone in any little way i can.

Go to the embassy around 12pm and tell the security man that you have an inquiry. He will put you on the queue and Paulinus will gently attend to you..it will be excellent if you can tell him who you VO was.. But the first thing you will do is to tell him the problem you have...please and please nobody will walk you out of German embassy not even the security if you came for an inquiry ( talking out of experience) do it ASAP.. May God be with you.

Please I need suggestions on what to do. I applied for long term student visa for Germany through the German embassy in Nigeria. I did my interview on 7th February and up till today I've not gotten AM(approval mail). I have tried contacting the embassy several times but nothing positive came out.. I.e they have never replied to any of my mails and even when I call they just tell me to send them mail. I contact the alien office about three times too and each reply said they had not received my documents from the embassy and that I should contact the embassy, infact the last mail i sent to them this Monday, they replied that I should refrain from sending them multiple mails. Now I am so confused and helpless cos I can't even say what is causing the delay. I funded my block account even before the interview date and submitted all necessary documents. my enrollment deadline was April 11th, I had to plead with the school to grant me an extension, now they gave me 1week extension latest, so my new enrollment deadline is April 18th but the embassy is yet to give me feedback till today, I'm really worried. Any suggestion or what next I should do? Should I go to the embassy in Lagos? Will that help?

Still waiting , no news from the Embassy yet , I called and the lady asked if it was up to 8 weeks I would have to wait until up to 8 weeks before I can lay a complain

I wrote to the alien authority of Kiel demanding the status of my Visa application and was told his been approved that I should contact the embassy.i mailed them yesterday no response from them yet.please what should I do as my enrollment deadline is fast approaching. please help
