Kenthumphz: Hallo
So my interview is next week and I have some questions I wanna ask the house, especially to the big guys that have gone ahead of us
-When asked about my plans for after studies, what should be the best approach to answering it or best response?
Do I just tell them am gonna come back home and seek for a good paying job, impacting knowledge gained over the years into the economy of my home nation (Economic Policy) or tell the VO that I really wanna continue up to PhD level and come back home to lecture or work in a government establishment like in my state, Enugu after completion of my studies up to that level.
I have gone through so many transcripts on this thread, so those that may wanna refer me back to them shouldn't bother. My reason for asking is cos I hope to lecture and I feel I need to attain at least PhD level before doing that. Working in a government agency is one of the dreams too.
Thanks as I anticipate your kind responses. abeg tell them say you dey come back as soon as possible. You need apply the knowledge acquired for obodo Nigeria. |

Ikechukwu12: I don't get the reason for this thread? Did any Anioma that partook in the last sit at home tell you they wouldn't? Since we partook in the last one, what makes you think we wouldn't this time around. Please tell us your reason.
Secondly, stop insulting Anioma. Ika does not equal the entire Anioma. Ika is a small aspect of Anioma and they aren't even the good side so the f2k? Please stop insulting us. You have Aniocha, Ndokwa, Ika and Oshmili. So what makes you think the entire Anioma is Ika? When someone is correcting you, listen to it and stop arguing senselessly. Thank you my brother thank you for telling the OP. He can't tag the whole of anioma "ika" |

gidgiddy: Listen. These names are names of local Government. A local Government is not a tribe. The name Anioma came about in the 80's.
The name that the Igbos of the old Western and Mid-Western Regions were known was Ika-Igbo. Ukwuani, Aboh,Asaba, Umunede, Agbor, Ogwashi-ukwu were all known as 'Ika-Igbos before the war. After the war, people started calling them selves different names. Im using the name existed before Biafra, not the ones that existed after. you cannot tell me about my people. Agbor, umunede, ekuoma, ite-ogbeje, abavo and so many are called ika's. From isheagu to ogwashi-ukwu to isele-ukwu and mpkitime to the ezechime tribe of onicha-ugbo, idumuje unit and ugboko are called aniocha. . The oshimili people consist of Asaba, okwe, oko(anala, ngbele e.t.c), Ibusa, ebu, akuku-ibo, ugbolu, okpanam and so on. Finally the Ndokwa's which are the Ossissa, kwale, ebedei, Abbi, aboh, iselegu, umutu and so. The ika language is called asusu-ika, and the Ndokwa's speak Ukwuani language. Note: the aniocha language is almost similar with that of the oshimili but have slight difference. An average aniocha/oshimili man, including the Ndokwa man hardly understands the Ika language. And also the Ika man and the aniocha/oshimili man hardly understand the Ukwuani language. So my brother the difference much. |

g0tze: Ndiigbo let us avoid this hand of fellowship we have been extending to our so called brothers across the Niger. They keep telling us time and time again that they aren't igbos but a distinct ethnic group. The post i quoted now has lent credence to what i have been harping on. I never said that the anioma's ain't igbos, what I said is that the OP should stop twisting stories. He can't tag the whole anioma nation "ika" just because he wants to pass a message. Eku gom ka Oha m na onu. |
Politics › Re: Calling On The Ika-Igbo Nation(Anioma) To Embrace 30th Of May Sit-at-home by princetigris(m): 4:12pm On May 09, 2018 |
gidgiddy: I was impressed with the compliance of Asaba during last year's highly successful sit at home protest on Biafra day. Asaba is generally seen as the capital of the Ika-Igbos and I'm hoping it will be better this year. Im hoping that Agbor junction and markets will be deserted on the 30th of May.
Who are the Ika-Igbos? They are an 'Igboid' people on the Western flank of the River Niger from Asaba all the way to Igbanke(Igbo Akiri) in Edo state. With the creation of the Western Region, the Ika people came to be known as the "Western Igbos". With the creation of the Mid-West Region, the became known as the "Mid-West Igbos". When the Mid-West Region was renamed Bendel state after the war, the became known as 'Bendelite Igbos'. In the early 90's, Bendel state was divided into Edo and Delta states with the vast majority of Ika put in Delta and they became known as "Delta Igbos".
With the declaration of Biafra many son's of the Ika Igbo nation chose to fight with their kith and kin in Nigeria. The included
Brigadier Conrad Chukwukadibia Nwawo Brigadier Okwechime Colonel Okonjo Colonel Macaulay Nzefili Colonel Chukwudi Sokei Colonel Joe Osekoka Achuzia Colonel Ochei Lt Colonel Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu Major Isichei Major Albert Okonkwo
These men stood shoulder to shoulder with their kit and kin across the Niger and fought against what perceived to be Northern domination of Nigeria.
So I call on the Ika-Igbo nation to set aside 30th of May to remember those we all collectively lost in the war. Let us remember those they lost in the Asaba massacre and the Benin city killings
May 30th of May be a day of atonement Nwokem stop misleading people. Anioma people are made-up of 4 different tribes namely: Ndokwa's, the Aniocha's, the Oshimili's and finally the Ika's(which are the Agbo's, umunede e.t.c), and of which the Ndokwa people are the majority amongst these four tribes occupying the northern senatorial district of Delta State. Finally, none of the underlisted men comes from the Ika extraction. Brigadier Conrad Chukwukadibia Nwawo Brigadier Okwechime Colonel Okonjo Colonel Macaulay Nzefili Colonel Chukwudi Sokei Colonel Joe Osekoka Achuzia Colonel Ochei Lt Colonel Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu Major Isichei Major Albert Okonkwo |
