I and wife invited my mother-inlaw for one month visit she submitted her application on 30th of sep. On 15th of Oct 2019 my wife received a call from the Embassy she was asked the following questions below:
Question: Are you inviting your mum?
Answer:Yes
Question: For how long is she going to stay?
Answer: 1Month
Question: Is she working or self-employed?
Answer: Self-employed
Question: Any Dependant?
Answer: Yes, the dependant name was given which shows in her bank statement sending to him monthly.
Question: She is married?
Answer: Yes but her husband is late now(Widow) which also submitted the Death Cert.

Please Guru in the house what does this call mean? Positive or Negative?

[quote author=nomad26 post=80750533]Hello house, I bring good news. My mum and brother just got their visit visa valid for 6 months cheesy. My mum is retired and self-employed, this will be her 2nd time visiting the UK. While my brother has 2 years work experience in IT but no travel history and first time applying for any visa.
I put a budget of 3K for 2-weeks stay for both of them (fully sponsored by me).

Timeline (Standard): TLS Lagos VI
20th June: Submitted online application (document self-upload)
26th June: Biometrics
18th July: Call from UKVI (asked if I was inviting anyone and how long they are staying, if I am fully sponsoring and how much, my brother's job title and company he works for, my immigration status in the UK and my job title...I think that was all)
19th July: Received email stating 'Application Concluded'
23rd July: Passport ready for pickup
Picked up passports same day with both visas approved

These are the documents we submitted with their application:

Mine:
1. Invitation Letter for both of them (electronic copy with a scanned picture of my signature)
2. Copy of BRP and my passport data page
3. Tenancy agreement (scanned copy with signatures)
4. 6-months payslip (e-copy)
5. 6-months bank statement salary account (downloaded from my online account with no bank stamp)

Mum:
1. Cover letter - highlighted my mum's sources of income, she collects pension and is also self-employed. I also highlighted how much she has currently in her savings)
2. Copy of previous UK visa
3. Company CAC certificate
4. Pension Letter
5. C of O of residential house
6. Land C of O
7. 6-months bank statement (the one that her pension and income from her business comes into)
8. Excel table explaining deposits into her account, with 4 columns - Date, Amount, Sender and Purpose of transfer (we highlighted any inflow greater than 50K)

Brother:
1. Cover letter - highlighted his job, how much he earns and how much he currently has in his savings)
2. HR Letter of introduction
3. Work Offer Letter
4. Work ID card
5. 6-months payslips
6. 6-months bank statement (both salary and savings accounts)
7. Excel table explaining deposits into his account, with 4 columns - Date, Amount, Sender and Purpose of transfer(we highlighted any inflow greater than 50K)
*I was a bit worried about the fact that we didn't include tenancy agreement for my brother because he shares a flat with his colleague and his name is not on the agreement but thank God that it didn't seem to matter. We didn't include tax cards either.

Thanks to everyone who contributes here, especially to giselle237 & MadameW for taking the time to answer my questions. God bless you all!

Hi

Please can I have the template of the cover letter for your Mum and excel tablet explaining deposit. I will really appreciate your response.

my application took 8 months to arrive and in that situation anyone would have given up hope. i wrote them 3 times and got my wife to write to them through the MP and in all I held on to God and he showed up .visa was granted in October and I travelled in November well aware that I had to collect my BRP so immediately I landed myself and my wife went to the post office and the BRP was not there I was still within the 10 days of arrival or 30 days of the vignette expiring. when I reported it on their website they said I did not successfully collect my BRP and it had been returned I then wrote a letter to them that was within the 10days of the BRP collection and came far before my vignette expire why would the BRP be returned, so I had to wait for another 25 working days before they finally sent my BRP to me December after 1 month and 20 days of my arrival. I tell you it was very tiring everything became boring because I cannot do anything without the BRP and all I do is sit at home and take a stroll in the evening. when the BRP finally came in December I was very excited and on checking it thoroughly I discovered that there was error in the length of stay about 7 month was cut off(Please people don't get carried away with excitement of collecting the BRP check it thoroughly particularly your name and the length of stay return it immediately if you notice any slight mistake ) if this is not corrected particularly your length of stay getting your ILR after 5 years will be very difficult.so I had to return the BRP immediately with a Letter to accompany it and also I attached the letter from the home office showing the length of stay and validity of my visa and after 7 working days the error was corrected and I now have my BRP with all the correct details. started working now and everything going on smoothly.so please check thoroughly
I had the same experience. Thanks to God for winning the battle.

Thank you so much.have you done the NI interview and GP registrstion?. Thought the N.I will not be possible without BRP.I called the line and the lady I spoke with said do I have a BRP.told her am yet to collect it was that the case with you?as for the NI did you go online or you called them?
Yes I've done my NI interview and GP registration, i was able to do the NI interview because i printed the email between me and the home office and my hubby also wrote introduction letter,I could not do my provisional licence because of my BRP. I received my BRP today, I was given 2 years instead of two and half years.

How much did they charge you for NHS subcharge?

hello Priorygroup have you been able to get your brp now and mine has not arrived yet please what number did you call or did you use this site gov.uk/brp. today is the 10th day and the brp has not arrive and on the site i was given the option of either to collect it at home or for delivery at the post office.the post office is very close to the house just like 3 mins walking distance.which option did you choose just want the one that will be faster cos i need to settle this fast have some pending this back in nigeria
Yeah I used the gov.uk/ BRP. I told them to deliver it to my home address, I got an email from BRP Department on the 15th of Nov saying my BRP will be delivered 3-5 working days. Hopefully I will get it before Friday by Gods grace. My hubby was able to my Sons own from the post office. But you can still go ahead with other stuffs like NI interview, GP registration etc.

Senior Men and Boss Ladies in the house, I greet all of una. Please I will submit my online application on Friday 2nd November and I want you guys to kindly go through my checklist if I don miss something. Just trying to do my assignment right.

Please note that my application is a bit different because I am applying from Germany. I live here on a student visa. So there are some things on the list that applicants from Nigeria dont need and things I dont need as well bcoz I am applying from Germany like the Tuberculosis test.

I got a UK marriage Visitor Visa and did my wedding in the UK. I am a regular customer to UKVI grin and I have six visit visas (all 6 months) of which the last is still valid. Been to the UK 7 times already this year and I have never spent more than 10 days on each trip. I just hope my good record with them helps in a positive way towards my spouse visa applcation.

For the financial requirement, I dey use Category B option. That's why I have 12 months payslip and bank statements on my checklist.
Don't forget to put dates on the pictures.

Hello everyone

Thanks to all the gurus in the house, I really appreciate all support and encouragement. God bless you all.

Now quick Lesson for anyone still waiting.
I and my son was granted on the 20th of Sep 2018. We got our passport on 19th of Oct, just 24hrs for visa to expire, so we travelled on the 20th of Oct 2018 been the last day on the visa, luckily we were able to get Virgin Atlantic which was just 6hrs flight.
Please and please, I will advice anyone to buy your ticket yourself from Nigeria. When I we got the airport, we were told they need to see the debit card that was used to buy the ticket, told them my husband bought the ticket from UK, they said we will not be allow to travel without seeing the card, I called my husband and he called virgin ticket in London heathrow and they asked him to bring the card to heathrow, he quickly drove down because we've got 1:30mins left, getting the airport he was told he needs to buy another ticket, by then , we've got 30mins left, so end up buying another ticket and they said previous money will be refunded. Thank God I and son are in uk now.

That you guys take your passports to the application centre or British embassy?
If it is application centre, no need taking your baby with you.
There UKVIS should send you the list of what to take to the application centre, if is it application.

Hello Deji,

The VAF4A form is the same as the online form you filled. The hard copy is designed for countries like North Korea. Just print the online form out, sign where necessary and submit it instead of the VAF4A form

You only have to PRINT, FILL AND SUBMIT the appendix 2 form and I believe the SUO7 form.

Good-luck with your application.
I will advice you not to waste your money on priority. They are all the same.
My opinion tho.
