Years ago, as a Christian, I often wondered why I still had problems. I thought Jesus paid the price, and that meant our problems were over. Or perhaps my mindset was influenced by people who painted Christianity as a solution to all life's troubles. However, as my faith matured over the years, I realized Christianity isn't the easy, carefree life I once imagined. Our enemy, the devil, is prowling around, seeking someone to devour. Can we really blame him? After all, this world is his domain. After the fall of man, the dominion of the earth shifted to the devil, and he’s certainly not going to make life easy for us. When you accept Christ, he becomes even more displeased and will stop at nothing to see you fall. This world is no friend to us; it is filled with sorrows. Even Jesus, when He walked the earth, faced many troubles. He was tempted by the devil. He was abused, despised, and rejected by the very people He came to save. And ultimately, He was killed. So, what am I getting at? Am I trying to glorify our problems? As Apostle Paul would say, God forbid! Instead, I’m debunking the myth that Christianity guarantees a smooth ride. It doesn’t. But Christianity does make you an overcomer. That’s the life God intends for us. Yes, there will be challenges, but as Christians, we have the Spirit of God dwelling within us. It is this same Spirit that makes us overcomers. Jesus illustrated this truth with the parable of the houses built on the rock and the sand. So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well-built. But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house right on the ground, without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.” — Luke 6:46-49 (NLT) Notice that both houses were hit by the same harsh conditions. The floodwaters rose against both. The difference wasn't in their appearance but in their foundation. Unlike the house on the sand that was swept away, the house built on the rock stood firm because of its strong foundation. Who is the person built on the rock that can stand firm in harsh conditions? Jesus says it is the person who "comes to Him" (accepts Him as Lord and Savior), listens to His word, and follows it. This is the person God is rooting for us all to become. Jesus said, "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." — John 16:33 (NLT) This is our testimony— in Christ Jesus, we “have overcome the world”. If you're not acting on His word yet, take this as your sign to start. If you haven't been listening, now is the time to take God's word seriously. And if you haven't accepted Jesus as your Savior, now is the time to make him your saviour and friend. He alone can guide you through life. He’s the most dependable person you will ever have by your side: Say this with me: Lord Jesus, I come to You today in faith. I believe that You are the Son of God, and that You died for my sins and rose again. I ask You to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Forgive me for all my sins and make me new. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and help me to live for You every day. I trust in You, Lord, and I place my life in Your hands. Thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace. In Your precious name, I pray, Amen. |
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and a sound mind. We hear words about God being loved. Everyone wants power to move mountains, change our situation and get things to work in our favour. Little is said about a sound mind, and fortunately, it is the balance to love and power. God doesn't just do anything he likes, he is a God who reasons. He has feelings, emotions and thinks too. You don't believe me? Remember he created you in His image and likeness— Gen 1:26 That said, the progress of many has been hindered not because they don't love God, but because they lack a sound mind. Ask questions like why should I give. What does God require of me as a Christian? How do I put the word of God to work in my current situation? Many people never reason. And If you take time out to build your mind with God's word and reason in every area of your life, you'll see God's blessings like never before. God is a man of His Word. He works with principles, and if you want to get answers to your prayers, reason with him with facts and figures from the Word. Take a look at the faith of the Gentile woman in the bible (Matthew 15: 21-28). Her daughter was possessed with demons and she wanted Jesus to heal her. At first, Jesus gave no reply. He then said he was sent to the lost sheep of Israel and responded, "It isn't right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.". She presented and reasoned her case with Jesus. The rest is history. He answered her. Likewise, the biggest miracles today often come from reasoning. When you pray, do not use vain repetitions like the heathen does, instead follow a sound mind. Reason with the word of God and watch God move in your favour. If you're going to take the path of building a sound mind, God is open to reason with you and you can reason him to your side. Happy Sunday everyone. P.S -Love without a sound mind hurts. -Wielding power with a sound mind breeds control. -God's blessings without a sound mind cannot be sustained. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and a sound mind. |
Salvation, first of all. Then peace and Victory and in a world of uncertainties. Righthussle: |
I've seen people call Christianity a scam. They were probably told that after accepting Christ, their problems will evaporate. I sometimes wish that was the case. Who no like soft life? But, that's not true. Christianity is much more than a problem evaporating mirage. Jesus, when he was on earth, had lots of problems. Eventually, he was killed by the very people he came to save. Paul, oh, look at his words in 2 Corinthians 11:24-28 : "Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked"… I could go on and on with examples of believers who suffered greatly in the bible. What then do you stand to gain as a Christain? When you accept Jesus, you're reconciled with the Father and no longer condemned- John 3:16 You also have peace and hope. In your troubles and trials, you can rejoice knowing you have a friend with you. You have faith in God's word and unlike unbelievers who guess what may happen, you are assured of Victory in your troubles. What is your guarantee? God does not lie, and he has never lost a battle. To know God is to know peace ✌️ “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”-John 16:33 Need a friend that sticks closer than a brother? Then get on your knees and welcome the Lordship Jesus into your heart. Confess him and accept him as a friend and personal saviour , and that's it! Welcome to the Peace and Victory Club . |
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. This is going to be a short one. Why are many Christians boxed within the church? Yes, they are well-recognized as zealous workers, but on the outside like, place of work and others they live a mediocre life. The effect, we go on evangelism preaching the gospel and people see no reason to accept Jesus because our lives don't exude fruits in character and influence. The holy spirit came upon Peter and, Peter, a once timid man, became confident to stand before thousands of men. God worked with Abraham and he became the father of nations. God worked with David and he became a mighty king who never lost a war. What about Daniel, taken into captivity and became one of Nebuccadezar's Noble men… I could go on with examples from the bible, but is point is... We need more Christians like the above who will shake the world. People who will rise in leadership, Administration, health, Security, and Agriculture and permeate every sector. No longer do we need aggressive evangelism, our light will be enough proof that we know Christ. So how can we achieve this? Plant seeds. Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Now I don't mean planting crops in the ground. In this context, the seed is the word of God. If you want a life that defies all odds then you better start out depending on God's word. Seasons change, time change, but God word's remains the same. Find out what God says about you and trust his word with all your heart. Diligence. Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean [men]. There's no shortcut to success. Ignore pastors who preach miracle money without emphasizing hard work. God is a God of order, and he follows due diligence. If you don't work, you ain't gonna eat. So, that which you have determined to do, do it with all your heart. Your salary can't pay your bills? work still with all your heart. Your boss is mean? Give yourself still to your task and watch how God who you serve will promote you. That's it for today. Wishing you all a happy Sunday. |

You're welcome. |
As a Christian, you're never going to get more from life until you learn how to use your faith. I lost my job sometime last year and God took on a journey of faith to depend on him and trust. At first, I had lots of doubts, fear almost crippled me. But then I resolved in my mind, if God's word is true why not bank on it? The result? I have lived the best life since them. You too can experience the best of God only if you'll believe and trust the report of the Lord. But how do you have faith? And how can you grow your faith? Hearing the word. Romans 10:17 So then faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. This is where faith begins. The words are seeds and when planted in our hearts begin to germinate. If you need faith, spend time listening and understanding the word. Dig into what the bible says about your current situation. Go to church with the heart of a receiver and the humility to learn. Do the word. James 1:22 But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. You'll get no result being just a hearer. Get out and put the word of God into action. The woman with the issue of blood heard about Jesus, but she didn't sit at home expecting a miracle in her lap. For a woman in her condition to step out and walk through the crowd to see Jesus, it was a lot. Do you need a job? The seed has already been planted by listening to the word. Step out and send the job applications. When I lost my Job, I sent out tons of pitches to companies and organizations. Yes, that's faith! You gotta act and take initiative. Speak it Challenges will come your way. The devil is going to tell you you're deceiving yourself. I have a word for you though it tarries, wait for it- Habbakuk 2:3. In Exodus 13, God took the Israelites through a long road why? They needed strength and courage for the journey ahead. God wanted to build them into a strong nation and the easy route won't do. Likewise sometimes, what you desire is going to take a while. What do you do while waiting? Hold fast to your confession of faith without wavering, for God can be trusted to keep his promise- Hebrews 10:22. Use this moment to also give thanks to God for his word. His word is the guarantee and through faith, you have what you desire. Receive and tell it And when the opportunity manifests, receive it. When the idea comes, receive it. When the miracle comes, receive it. Jesus prepared you and now you have it, Glory to God! When your desire manifests, also use the opportunity to testify. Your words will encourage and strengthen someone to also trust God for theirs. Your testimony can also win souls into the kingdom. Don't be silent about what God has done for you. Build on your most holy faith As long as you remain on Earth, you'll need lots of faith. The world is unpredictable. Every day things are thrown at us, but the one who will survive is he who is built on the Word God. Never stop listening, never stop using your faith to get bigger things because with God you can achieve the impossible. And never stop praying in the holy ghost to strengthen your faith. Happy Sunday 🤗😊

Some sincere Christians left the faith. Some popular ones backslid and were restored. Yesterday was no exception—the internet was agog with rumors of a popular celebrity musician, now a famous Christian, cheating. I read through some comments, and people said, "Unbelievable". Some people expressed disappointment and said they couldn't believe in love again. In my heart, I was like, who is your standard as a Christian? Is it your pastor, a celebrity or a famous icon who is human and prone to mistakes? We have an imperfect body. Like you, they have flesh and blood. Yes, society expects high standards from them. But don't let their values define you, especially when they don't match the word of God, because when you look up to men and put your trust in them, you'll be disappointed. The Bible says to call no man your father: Matthew 23:8-10 "Don't let anyone call you 'Rabbi,' for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters. And don't address anyone here on earth as 'Father,' for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father. And don't let anyone call you 'Teacher,' for you have only one teacher, the Messiah. No man should be called perfect or attributed the role of God. They can guide you, but let your standard be God. It's Him alone you should expect perfection, and when you realise this, you'll be more compassionate and stop the toxic criticism at backslidden Christians. Happy Sunday Everyone. |
Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes |

You're having it rough lately. The economy is biting harder thanks to the fuel hike. Salary stays the same, and you have many hands to feed. Worries creep into your mind, and fear whispers in your head. Perhaps you have enough now, but your fear is more about the future. God calls you to a place of peace. But first, let's see why worrying isn't healthy and what it does to you. Why worrying is never an option I have been in contact with people who worry, and it's not always a joyful moment. One moment they are all smiles, and the next, their mind is alert, thinking of everything that could go wrong. Worrying costs you peace. And if you keep at it, it could wreak emotional havoc and even shorten your life expectancy (harsh but true). So what do you do instead? God wants you to trust him and stick to him as the anchor of your life. Your boss promised to pay your salary, and you believed how much God whose promises are forever true? What You should do Instead Surrender. Which is better- You walk the rough road alone, worrying if it's the right path or surrender to Jesus who knows the end from the beginning to lead you? Matthew 11:28-30 says to Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light To know Him is to know rest. If you want the peace of God to reign supreme in your heart, then enter into rest through faith. Do this today by laying your burdens at his feet in the place of prayer. Meditate on God's words. From time to time, the environment, enemy and even people around you will whisper fear. It's normal, after all, we live in a corrupt world. In times like these, meditating on God's words and declaring his promises over your life will keep you at peace. It's not enough to surrender; you must fight worries with the word. The Bible says to cast every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Soak yourself in the word, so that in moments when worries come knocking you can say: -I will not be afraid, for the lord is my refuge. -You can look at the situation and say the Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Final Thoughts Worrying comes from a place of uncertainty, a place of doubt. And God countered this by promising never to leave nor forsake you. Do you believe in Jesus? Do you believe His Word? Then stop worrying and start walking in faith, "for we walk by faith and not by sight". |

Rockefeller the billionaire took ill at 53. His physicians predicted he would die within a year. The world's first billionaire had money to buy everything he wanted but he could only eat crackers and soup. As he lay on his dying bed, he remembered the words of his mother to help the poor. He contacted lawyers and told them he wanted to channel his wealth to hospitals, research and charity work. Surprisingly, Rockefeller lived from 58 -98. Giving back made him whole. Perhaps that's the most exciting part of the story. His foundation led to the discovery of malaria cures, penicillin, tuberculosis and diphtheria. John Rockefeller wrote this in his diary before his death: " The Supreme Energy taught me that everything belongs to him, and I am only a channel to comply with his wishes. My life has been one long, happy holiday; Full of work and full of play I dropped the worry on the way and God was good to me every day. " So you may be thinking how does this apply to me? Here are some learnings: 1. Your cooperation with God determines your blessings. 2 Corinthians 9:10: For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Do you want to enjoy God's blessings? Then you must be a generous giver to the poor, church and people around you. Rockefeller activated this key and God blessed him with true wealth. 2. True joy is in giving The Bible calls us the light of the world and the salt of the earth. You'll find true joy when you begin living this purpose, adding value to everyone around you, and living beyond you. I have learned to give and the joy I experience in seeing a smile on the faces of others is endless. 3. Life is about living behind you Matthew 6:33: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. The economy is tight, you have needs or don't have enough to cover your expenses. Jesus understands. And He wants you to reach a point where you look beyond your present circumstances and connect everything you do to eternity. Let your choices be founded on his Word. Take Rockefeller for example, he remembered his mother's words to tithe and help the poor on his deathbed and God preserved his life till 98 years. Can you remember the words God spoke to you? Hold onto it and watch your life turn around for good. .......... If you're reading this and haven't accepted Jesus yet, here is an opportunity for you to have eternal life and live beyond you. Say this with me: Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that you died and rose on the cross. You died for my sins. And today I accept you into my heart. Come be my personal life and saviour. Amen. |

I have seen Christians countless times getting deceived by a pastor who saw a wrong vision over critical issues in their life or some spending months on the mountain and never getting answers from God. Is God so hard to find? Why are Christians getting caught in the trap of deceit and lack of direction? Know this, your pastor doesn't have the answers to your life. He also has problems. Even Elijah, the mighty prophet, couldn't see that the Shunamite woman would lose her son. That said, how can you get answers? Ezekiel 7:26 Disaster will come upon disaster, And rumor will be upon rumor. Then they will seek a vision from a prophet, But the law will perish from the priest, And counsel from the elders. 1. Revelation God doesn't only speak to us through visions or dreams. Revelation can come as a voice. Or knowing in your spirit what path to take. Get into the place of prayer and seek out God's will. But in instances where you receive no revelation, do you keep waiting in the place of prayer for years? This leads me to the next point. 2. Instruction The bible says my people perish because they lack knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Through knowledge also shall the righteous be delivered (Prov 11:9). In a situation where you didn't get a revelation, bring the word of God into action. What have been learnt from all the years of going to church? Now it's time to put it in use. Pick up your bible and find out what God says about the situation. You can also listen to a Christian tape about it or go to church for the bible in faith that you'll get answers to your situation. This is one of the ways God speaks to me and, unfortunately, many take the word with levity. Even when a pastor tells you a prophecy, to ensure you don't get trapped, you have to checkmate with the word of God. But what if you don't get an instruction? Then go for Godly counsel. 3. Counsel Do you have Godly friends and leaders? If you can't get revelation or instruction, seek Godly counsel. Speak to your leaders who are much more experienced. Reach out to someone who has been through your situation and find out how they handled it. . . . We are in the last days and many Christians are getting deceived in the name of vision. Save yourself the trouble by knowing God for yourself and soaking in his spirit and word. But note that you can only be led when you've accepted Jesus. If you're not saved, say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I accept you into my heart as my Lord and personal savior. I believe that you died and rose and that you're Lord over everything. That's it. Congratulations! |
