TonyRazor: EDITORIAL:UNIZIK, Reconsider That Student's Expulsion
BY TONY OKAFOR
The recent expulsion of Miss Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has sparked widespread debate about the severity of the punishment.
The incident, which involved an altercation between the student and a lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, raises important questions about the university's approach to discipline and student affairs.
Punishment should serve as a corrective measure, aiming to reform and educate, rather than destroy.
Expulsion, in this case, seems like an extreme measure, one that may have long-lasting, detrimental effects on the student's future.
As a moulding institution, UNIZIK should strive to provide guidance and support, rather than resorting to draconian measures that can be career-killing. Actions have consequences. Sowing and reaping is one of the laws that governs man. She can choose to either go and take Jamb again and then get serious with her studies or go fully into content creation..... |

Kobicove: If that's the case I suggest you stop fueling the generator until he settles his indebtedness to you.
Since you can cough out over 200K every month for diesel you should have no problem spending about 200K to buy a smaller 3Kva generator to power just the basic necessities in your apartment.
I can guarantee that if you do this he will come back to settle cos there is no way the current solar equipment he has will be suitable to power an industrial freezer for the cold room.
He has to either power the generator or risk loosing all the fish stored in the cold room! Take this advice. Do not quarrel with him. Just be calm and get a generator that you can manage if you cannot stay without light for a week. The inverter purchased by your will definitely need power to charge and also the wife must need that generator. Just sit down and watch what will happen in two weeks time. When they come to you again, ensure you have a written agreement which will include the debt. Again, do not quarrel with him. |

Sirjamo: "I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have, more shall be taken away. BUT THESE ENEMIES OF MINE WHO DOES NOT WANT ME TO REIGN OVER THEM, BRING THEM BEFORE ME AND SLAY THEM" (Luke 19: 26 - 27) That was Jesus speaking in the new testament, asking his deciples to " bring my enemies before me and slay them." Many Christians had used such verses in the Bible against other faith adherents before: The crusaders used it against Muslims and Jews, the Nazies used it against Jews, recently, the Bosnian Christians used it against Bosnian Muslims.
Of course, I took the verse out of it historical context, and that is what every Muslim terrorists also do with the Quran, they single out the part that suite there lunacy and used it as justification for there madness. |

nicedayontop: What you failed to realise is that there are many indigenes of Niger state studying in better schools in various states of the federation. Grow up in your thinking and not become myopic. In my school here in Abuja, I can count six girls who scored more than 320 in jamb and they are from Niger state. The north is not as backward in education as many southeners think. Six girls who wrote the exams themselves? Is that what you mean? And you want to tell me that the only thing you went about doing in a citadel of Learning is looking for girls from the north who scored above 320 for research purpose abi? And what was there course of study or didnt you bother to ask them? Mr researcher!!! I wont want to banter words with you. We all know the essence for the introduction of THE EDUCATIONAL LESS PRIVILEGED STATE and FEDERAL CHARACTER. |
