Actually YES. PHP is slow, but Wordpress is madddddd slow.

If you do a little research, you will find out that most themes comes with unnecessary clog of scripts & styles. Once you remove all that & only include what you want, meaning maintain only your custom built HTML website styles & scripts, It works like magic.

Hmm is this the major reason though? PHP is actually dying a natural death, I mean we have GO, Ruby which people still learn & use daily with growing numbers & they are only Backend.

Ruby on Rails is also dying and giving way for Node.js, I still prefer Ghost CMS or Strapi to WordPress when integrating into a react application, WordPress is also good.

Yes, why not? Firebase was built using mongoDB and it is highly scalable. It makes development easy also because of its elimination of SQL in development. No more SELECT * FROM schema WHERE .....

Everyone of us assumes about the technology we don't know about, Someone says Mern stack is the worse, another says PHP covers 70% of the web so people should learn it instead. Another says don't learn it cause It sounds like PDP.

Ironically, an ideal way to create a Wordpress website is to create the Theme from scratch, not as hard as some people think. Performance issues already solved just by taking this approach, because readymade themes tend to include a lot of scripts and styles which makes Wordpress sites slow like tortoise. You can also implement your own security easily.

Anyway RIP to those that lost their lives in Arkansas, they have 7 virgins waiting for them.

So let's blame PHP's slowness on verbose scripts and styles. I really think that it's slowness chiefly comes from the fact that it is mainly the first language most programmers start with fresh out of college, or when learning programming.

Most pick up bad habits and don't observe proper On standards due to their initial novice level. I wouldn't advice anyone to learn php in 2020 cos it's severely limited to backend development. JavaScript is the best cos you can do loads with it, even machine learning.

I'm on this whatsapp group that shares security information (mostly my university classmates), someone posted "dem no dey let people rest, dem nor go rest too" with some pictures attached, immediately, I saw the leader's face I recognized him with some others I saw that night, they didn't wear mask during operation. They were also members of a cult according to the poster and we're killed by soldiers during operation.

True talk. I was indeed lucky, they probably didn't want to kill that day, I had nightmares for over 5yrs about that incident, that particular squad except for 2 members are now in the grave as they were killed by soldiers 7-8months later. Life goes on.

Magento is based off PHP. Wordpress powers 35 percent of websites globally and is still in demand o. It is not as you think. Go and build a Wordpress theme or plugin from scratch then come back again.

Congratulations to him. I'm an advocate of technology and not a fanboy since technology is just a tool utilized in solving problems. You asking me to build a WordPress theme from scratch is like me asking you to use JavaScript to analyze topological features using synthetic aperture radar interferometry and rendering the result with React.

We should all pat ourselves on the back regardless of tech stack or framework. Someone lost his life in Arkansas over Angular vs React fight, say no to fanboyism. Shalom.

The MERN stack is the most useless and the worst stack any newbie to programming will ever choose. Learn React Sha because it makes your life easier but forget nodejs MongoDB and express. React can be used with almost any CMS or backend now even wordpress.

The way some of you bad mouth tech stacks amaze me. Why would someone wake up one morning and say that the Mern stack is the worst for newbies? The Mern stack is where the job is at the moment all over the world except Nigeria where they love WordPress. If you have any dreams of relocating abroad and don't know Mern, sorry.

I'm not a newbie in anyway too, no need telling me to learn React. I eat, dream and breathe React.
