It is pertinent to state that the reason it is perceived that the National Security Adviser has some authority over the Service Chiefs is because of the military tradition of respect to senior colleagues as we have had retired military officers as National Security Adviser who are senior to the Service Chiefs. In reality and in accordance with the responsibilities of the National Security Adviser as captured in extant regulations and mandate, he is simply the adviser to the President in security matters with no recourse to direct or authorize the Service Chiefs. In essence the Service Chiefs are only answerable to the Minister of Defence and not the National Security Adviser. |
deji17:Well observed. I really wonder the technical proficiency of Presiero. You are playing a traditional goal poacher like Osimhen and decide to play inverted Wingers in Simon and Chukwueze that cannot cross balls accurately into the box. The result speaks for itself. No goals in open play in 180 mins of football against a Guinea Bissau team that comprise majorly players playing in the 2nd division in the Portuguese League. |
The new nomenclature is Landing Ship Transport and not the WWIi term of Landing Ship Tank. |

Obviously he adopted a grid trading methodology. Doubling his bets as price went down and not willing to cut his losses. It's a problem of trading physcology; not accepting you are wrong. Been there myself. Strange how a small loss taken early could balloon to margin call. |
Speculative Trade on Crude Oil by a trader ends in big losses of 320 million dollars for Mitsubishi. This lays further credence to the need for economic diversification by Nigeria because the price of crude oil is driven not only by fundamentals but speculators.

It could easily been have 4-0 for the Germans. Manu must make changes in the second half |
Akinov, I admire your passion for Chess. I see you have openings (raw lines) as part of your prep. I suggest you first understand your chess personality. Are you cast in the mould of a Tal, Kasparov, Fisher or are more conservative and risk averse like Karpov or the current world champion Magnus Carlsen. This would determine the openings you would focus on developing as part of your arsenal. Second I suggest you get the Houdini or Komodo Chess commercial Engines from chess base. They are arguably the 2 strongest chess engines in the World and come packaged with a lot of analytical features which every serious chess player must have. Goodluck on your endeavor. |

My opinion on the whole issue is that the whole deal was not handled properly by those who negotiated the deal. When dealing in the arms market as a sovereign nation it is expedient that you play by the rules book even when buying arms from Eastern Europe where majority of countries who do not have good standing with the west go to acquire arms. First the NSA did the correct thing by issuing an End User Certificate. But there is no way those arms can be exported without the arms manufacturer getting an End User Certificate from the host government allowing the exportation of arms out of that country. Second if we wanted to get these arms from the black market why not go straight to to the main market in Eastern Europe since we are not sure of the quality of Chinese made weapons. Also there are several renowned Nigerian arms dealers who have in previous occasions acted as middle men and obtained arms or military hardware legally for our country. |
Do you realize that security and socio-economic development are like the hen and egg. Security underpins all other facets of development. If BH reaches your backyard, you would not be talking about health or employment. 1mindchrisr: |
I think it is important we analyse the wire transfer for the $5.7m. Before that kind of transfer is done several processes are carried out on both sides. Central Bank officials of both countries would have been notified because of the huge amount involved. If there was any illegality about it the transfer would not have gone through in the first place. So the SA Bank received the money and had no problems until the money was to be returned to Nigeria. Interesting! |
