Judging from this response, it is clear that you don't have the blue print or feasibility study of the business you intend to invest in. Business don't thrive on baseless assumptions(e.g @ bolded). You need to show people 'the numbers'! You don't look for money first before feasibility study and concrete business plan- that's a recipe for failure. I feel concerned because you are seeking for fund from the masses (majority of whom you don't know). In summary, I have no reason yet to conclude that your idea is a scam but you simply need to show wise investors 'your numbers'!

Please as much as I try not to be involved in a debate with you, I wish to clarify some issues. I have not asked anyone for money. Why I still do not want to be too open on the business Idea yet is that, I wouldnt love it to be hijacked. So far, I have done feasibiity study on two businesses that could yield that much. and besides since its going to be a cooperative, I cant deside that myself

toluxa1: I cant believe people are this gullible to fall for this. SOmeone tells you he is looking for 500 people to contribute 2k each and bluntly tells you your money will be invested in HYIP, FOOTBALL BETTING, FOREX and any other high risk business, hahaha, those three businesses each have about a 95% chance of failure. Heaven knows what the other high risk businesses are. If you are wise, run with your money now oo. We have been into online biz for too long to we even slightly interested in this.

please dont make this look as bad as you sound... plz read my post again, modify your post and apologize if you have a conscience

@ bolded. How?

when you do your calculations, you get our target, with hard work, some lucrative legitimate business can yield that over a period of time... just keep an eye on us, it just a year issue

obasy09: I doubt it that the op has really researched what cooperative means, its mode of operation and legal requirements.If your goal is to raise money from multitude to achieve economic of scale, a better term to use is JV or partnership!
You disclosed that registration of ur cooperative is underway when you claimed to have had only 4 members (you inclusive). How is that possible?. How many meetings have you held? Do you even have cooperative register ready?
I'm not condeming ur laudable idea or forsight, but you don't go about cooperative biz model the way you're doing. If you think I'm talking nonsense, you can challenge me to a debate on cooperative business.
whatever your views are, I respect them but I would not like to debate what name should be given to it. what we are about to do is that we are registering as a group, we will raise money together as a group, invest it over a period of time, get our target and share among ourselves. so you can give it your name

Tonjeola1: Good idea only if op will be sincere and let people have trust in you, because this na money matter, by the time 500 people contributed 2k each, what is the guarantee you disappear?

the cooperative is getting registered. So till then, we are not collecting any money

Education / Financial Advice For Aspiring Student by proselector: 7:25am On Nov 08, 2013
Good morning all:
I just felt I should give some financial advice to aspiring nairalanders.

Being in school could hectic expecially in the absence of financial support. Even when you have a sponsor or on a scholarship, you might still at a point be faced with some challenges. So these tips might help you while preparing for school.

1. Saving: While awaiting resumption, you could do some little savings. instead of buying latest phones, keeping the money in the bank could help solve a need in school.

2. Rationalize Spending: If you intend to scale through school expecially when not so financially endowed, you need to be rational in spending. Dont just buy for buying sake. And attimes look out for alternatives. I know a girl in school that buys new cloths and shoes every start of the semester. And goes broke two weeks latter.

3. Plan ahead: With the money you have athand, plan ahead. If you know that getting an accomodation outside will criple your finance, why not stay in the hostle? And if even the hostel fee will cripple your finance, you could squat with someone if its permitted.

4. Work hard so you could secure a scholarship.

You could raise money enough for your fees or to buy a laptop through nairaland.com cooperative society www.nairaland.com/1507688/nairaland-e-cooperative-society

I hope my tips do help...
please comment or add yours. thanks

Nairaland / General / Why Do You Like Nairaland? by proselector: 2:06pm On Nov 07, 2013
I have many reasons to like nairaland.com
but these are just a few reasons:
1. The design. I so much love the look of nairaland from every angle and its features like followed post, likes, etc kudos to seun and his team

2. Comments: The funny comments on nairaland sometime makes me want to go through all of them

3. User names: Some user names can just be imagined, some can never be. I think I was blank when I choosed mine, cos it has nothing to do with my name

4. Please add yours

Business / Re: Nairaland E-cooperative society by proselector: 8:10am On Nov 07, 2013
I think this is a nice opportunity for students who wish to raise money for business. Other than business the money raised could go a long way of meeting some basic finantial need. ASUU is about to call off the 4 month strike, investing a little from all you have made will definately pay in a long run. Think fast and join us

Szczeny is the golden hands,
Mertesacker is the Vertebral Column, the one that stands tall at
the back; Koscielny is the Neck, the flexible one; Sagna, the
Right Shoulder; Gibbs, the Left Shoulder; Santi is the Brain,
thinks faster than others; Özil is the Eye,that sees everything;
Ramsey is the Heart, beats in the middle; Wilshere is the Lungs,
the powerengine; Arteta is the Ribs, who holds them all together;
Theo is the Legs, the fastest ones; Rozzais the Vein, transfers
everything silently; Flamini isthe Abs, the strength in the middle;
Giroud is the Stomach, you feed it and it provides the necessary
energy;
And now finally, Emirates is the Blood, as
both are red, and Wenger is the soul.
