I Agree with you to an extent..buh bro, it is "incompetence" on one part, and it is another thing on another part. We can't overlook or hide Badeh's flaws under the shade of "incompetence". What I am saying isn't totally different from what Gubio said. The man said, from the statement Badeh made, it gives him away to have deliberately led innocent soldiers to their early grave, and to have caused the death of many north-easterners concurrently(GENOCIDE). If the soldiers can say they were ill-equipped and Alex Badeh could come out to deny it..and subsequently leading some other soldiers to the war front with the first-hand knowledge of the situation of things, what should we call that? You and I know if the soldiers are not well equipped in times like that, it means the civilians are jst dead pple awaiting burials.

Bro, this is human lives we are talking about. Gubio isn't wrong to have said all he said.
I understand! Badeh's all about his stomach... But the problem of Inadequate equipments was well beyond Badeh and to some extent, Well beyond even GEJ and that's where the US and Amnesty International comes in. For reasons known to the US (probably the LGBT ish or "human rights abuses"wink, They placed a weapons embargo on Nigeria... Nigeria whereas were cautious not to hurt their 'ALLY' by opting for another producer ( Russia and their former soviet brothers or China Whom are OPEN US competitors). When GEJ finally damned em and went for soviet Weapons Believe it or not The US began Sabotaging GEJ'S administration covertly... I can't tell you what they did but I know they did.

I think Badeh's was in the form of Financial corruption and crass non challance! During my days In Maiduguri, a soldier working just outside our quarters openly said he did not receive his Allowances since the insurgency started and he wasn't motivated no more.... Also on Intel gathering and perfect execution of Missions based on those intel.

Honestly I strongly agree with him. Badeh should have made this known b4 the expiration of GEJ's regime. Badeh gave Nigerians hope by words of the mouth when he was in power.

The day the man vowed Boko will be history was when the Chibok girls were abducted. Fast forward to a week or so, the man said he knows where the chibok girls are buh doesn't want to use force to rescue them...(well, this is not really a problem)

Lemme also remind u that Alex badeh announced a ceasefire deal in Oct. 2014 which the Boko boys never asked 4. Hmm, could this be owing to his incompetence? Or could there be more to this? Only time will tell

Do I still need to remind you of those soldiers that were charged for mutiny cos they complained of not bn well equiped? How did Badeh and co react to this? ...In short, the big question is, Why is he just saying this now?
I know bout all the points you mentioned! And I acknowledge that Nigerians Have got this mentality of unflinching loyalty to the 'hands that feed me' ( Gov't of the day) Infact NOT ONLY NIGERIANS.... I'm yet to see a Gov't official around the world that openly condemns his principal or the body he heads.

Badeh has his problems for sure but what you're saying is far different from 'the northern genocide' this Northerner's purporting.

What you pointed out was Badeh's incompetence....!

A Borno elder, Dr Bulama Mali Gubio, has called for the prosecution of the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, at the International Criminal Court, ICC, for deliberately leading an ill-equipped military that allowed Boko Haram terrorists to massacre thousands of lives in North-east Nigeria.

Gubio said he was not in any way impressed with the belated confession of the former CDS.

The retired tehcnocrat, a former head of the Borno State civil service, insisted that it was very disappointing that Badeh, who is from the North-east, would deliberately collude with the government of former President Goodluck Jonathan to sanction the killings of his own people by not voicing out the fact that the Nigerian military under his command had no requisite equipment to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency.

“My personal view and comment on the pronouncement of the former Chief of Defence Staff is that we are very much surprised that AVM Alex Badeh who is from the North-east would act in the manner he did during his time as Nigeria’s defence chief.

“If he knew that the military under his command was ill-equipped, he should have since voiced out his concerns. But he kept quiet and refused to talk! We all knew how our stateqA governor, Kashim Shettima, was nearly removed as the then presidency and even the military were threatening total state of emergency on Borno and so on, all because he came out to state the truth. It was God that saved Borno at that time,” Gubio stated.

According to him, Badeh had accepted that he deliberately led a military without ammunition in the war against Boko Haram, meaning, according to him, that he colluded with the government of former president Jonathan to watch the people of the North-east massacred by Boko Haram.

“It was really sad that when our governor was crying out that his people were being killed mercilessly by Boko Haram terrorists because Boko Haram had better equipment than the Nigerian soldiers, the military under Alex Badeh’s command as well as the government of former president Jonathan were busy denying it.

“There is no two ways about it; he (Alex Badeh) deliberately presided over an ill-equipped military. So, we call on President Muhammadu Buhari to take up this matter as voluntarily presented by Alex Badeh and join it with the indictments made in the Amnesty International reports on Boko Haram, to ensure that he and others that were so indicted face trial at the ICC. They have to explain to the world why the people of Borno particularly, and the North-east in general were allowed to be so massacred,” he said.

And do you agree with him Mallam Midolian?

I schooled in UNIMAID and can categorically tell you that what happened in 2009 when Boko Haram started under Yar'Adua can't be described By mere words! So Yar'Adua should be resurrected and face justice too Since it was his people he was killing!

When you are the president, you cannot give the excuse that you have people against you. As unflattering as this is, it is an admission of incompetence.

The issue of the refineries is beyond trade, we can call it a factor of National security.

There can be no denial that under President Jonathan, there was massive corruption. Corruption here being knowing the right thing and refusing to do it because it favors your friends while the nation suffers and remain stagnant.
Yes I agree! Jonathan's Culpability was founded in his inactions!

Do you need any professor or soothsayer to answer this simple question? The answer is obvious and already answered by the OP and others who have commented. Let me help you again.

THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE REFINERIES. DIEZANI AND CO KEPT DECEIVING NIGERIANS (NOT GEJ) SO THEY CAN CONTINUE WITH THEIR FRAUD.

The thunder that will fire Diezani, GEJ and co is still doing press up with General Burantashi in Maiduguri.

Meanwhile, let me be waiting for my friend, barcanista who is already in the studio producing the normal useless wailing rejoinder to these incontrovertible facts that my 9 months old sweet baby girl know of.
Guy Like it or not, Barcanista is a good researcher!

Look, an APC supporter just published an anti-GEJ thread but hardly see insults to his person! Most arguments are issue-based!

Here is another side tk the story.

The refineries did not need much to be fixed but people were making so much from the subsidy and importing of fuel that they preferred that the refineries not working
Now that's a better explanation!

But Do you know that even Presidents as glorified as they are are powerless against some forces emanating from some quarters of the polity? Okay GEJ wasn't stout enough as do military men but how can one fight the likes of Adenuga, Danjuma, OBJ, IBB, E.t.c? which I believe ALL have stakes in Nigerias Petroleum sector and It's Woes. Would you agree with me that this men ARE ABOVE THE LAW IN NIGERIAhuh?? EVEN BUHARI CAN'T TOUCH THEM.... I know that yes the refineries are now working because The cabal too have got reservations about whom they are dealing with now. But when their pockets start drying up, That's when sabotage comes in! And the worst is these guys often play neutral! As in lil or no party affiliation!
Politics › Re: Jonathan's Government And The Refineries, Lest We Forget. by PRYCE(m): 7:06am On Aug 02, 2015
Mynd44:
True but can we say the last administration fixed them?

Now that will be the question. Show evidence that the GEJ government fixed the refineries, show us the contracts awarded to fix the refineries, how much was paid and when the contracts were made.

Remember they said the refineries wont work until first quarter 2016. This is not even last quarter 2015.

Personally, I doubt anything major was wrong with the refineries in the first place with these news. It was just more profitable to some people to import fuel than for the refineries to be functioning
Okay GEJ didn't fix em... Buhari said he didn't! So who fix am ni? Oduduwa? These two are the only presidents between the refineries' rehab and take off! One has to take credit for it!

The Foreign media will tell you about 'the despicable lagos slumps'! With biased statistics!

I kept asking myself; The UN says 69% of Nigerians live below the poverty line ( $1 per day). Whereas, The NCC just announced that there are about 150m ACTIVE cellphone lines in Nigeria. My question is... how could over 120m nigerians afford the cost of those phones( since no phone is available at less than a dollar), How do they Recharge the Mobile accounts, charge their phones and still live on a dollar per dayhuh
