Politics › Has The Notion 'Jonathan Divided Nigeria Along Ethnic Lines' been Proven False? by PRYCE(op):
So PGEJ was labelled a 'National Disaster', 'Nigeria's threat To ethnic Unity' and stuff like that...

Nigeria's truly complex! Its people are so divided ethically than ever before... And who made it worse?? Ask me again!

Yoruba's and Igbos are all up in each other's business, Igbos, a fair chunk of Yorubas are at each other's throats, The Niger Deltans who've recently found their voice after their Son Contested and won The Presidential election back in 2011 also have their own fair share of hate to throw around..... Too Bad!

The Divide has never been this thick or vast. I started to notice a trend during the early stages of the electioneering period; The Igbos ressurected their Awolowo- era feud with the Yorubas for their open endorsement of a northern Candidate in PMB... Calling in a 'death-calling partnership' or a 'repeat of history' And there came The Oba Of Lagos' Inciteful ' Lagoon' comments and so everything went south from there... The Yoruba's would not be so belittled, They staged various comebacks, Voting massively for PMB was one of them.

Buhari Won but the feud never went cold no thanks To the emergence of Radio Biafra: A radio broadcast calling for the reborn of the secessionists of The 60's/ 70's. But, All these didn't hit the final nail to the coffin of Nigeria's Unity as the recent Appointments.

Unlike GEJ who stuck to the Federal Character Clause in appointments, Mr. Buhari has totally neglected its existence! Out of the Many Appointments he's made be it heads of parastatals, or members of his Administrations inner circle, 97% has gone to the North and 3% to the south (south south, east, West). Talk about total disrespect for ethics and Laws.

Buhari's Actions are undoubtedly sending Nigeria on a path of Anarchy. The public Out cry it has created even among top politicians one would expect to keep mum on issues like this was at an all time high. Social Media Ran Wild and Newspaper headlines weren't encouraging!

Kachikwus's appointment had Danjuma's signature all over it, Adeshina's had OBJ's and Maybe Enang's wasn't anybody's doing but so much for a President who " doesn't give a hoot about Pleasing ANYONE, Political Oligarchs inclusive. as I've heard APC loyalists say.

I believe GEJ's emergence as the president back in 2010 gave a section of Nigeria a voice, His appointments had Federal character oozing from it from all Angles. The Man basically treated Nigerians as equally as humanly possible. I can authoritatively tell you all that boko haram and the rampaging Herdsman were the only dividing factor among Nigerians during GEJ'S tenure and that was even mainly religious and not tribal

Buhari's body language keeps confirming people's fears of a grand northern/ Islamic conspiracy coming into play.
Why appoint mainly Northerners into sensitive positions of power and as heads of major Government agencies leaving out a sizable part of the nation? Does he think Northerners are more competent? Well, that'll amount to being sectional. Mark my words, when Buhari eventually appoints ministers, 50% of them will still be from the North bringing his Administrations inequality percentage to an outrageous 75% to 25%. This will be his greatest undoing.

People kept saying He's has the right to appoint those he's comfortable with into top positions... Yes he does! But by that, It'll mean GEJ, Yar'Adua and OBJ were the ' uncomfortable president's ' judging by the zonal balance they had during their respective administrations.

Nigeria's already a sectionalized state and no amount of #CompetenceOverEthnicity campaign by some Nairalanders can fix that.

By these, i'd be forgiven if I say Buhari and his actions are the biggest threat to Nigeria's Unity!

Lest I forget, The Man categorically said his 97% percent would feel the presence of his government more than the other 5%! What a Man! What A President! What a comment!

...And who doesn't know Jonathan is a wicked man? grin

But mr Boyloaf, i don't agree with you on the issue of negotiating with bokoharam and granting the bastards amnesty. These pple are faceless killers who have no moral justification for their killings. If you grant them amnesty now, it means we should be expecting another blood-thirsty group to spring up soon(with the expectation of bn granted amnesty in the long-run).
So you don't support Mr. Buhari's Amnesty offer for the boko hamists? I'm surprised!

BTW, Even you don't think GEJ's wicked! grin

Your being proud of GEJ and licking his arse daily despite known, speculated and yet to be revealed heinous things he did and how he almost tipped Nigeria into the path of irredeemable darkness,if not for God's intervention, summarizes all about u.
First rule of survival:don't stick your neck out for a fool when all evidence has shown he would remain a fool.
look who's talking! Have you chidded your Oga about the inciteful comments he made in 2011 while brandishing a spear? I'm from the north and I understand Hausa like craze... the man clearly said " Ku halaka su" meaning destroy them.... have you said anything too about his brutal time in power? Have you said anything about his kidnap attempt? Have you said anything about the alleged missing suitcases during his Administration? Since we now talking speculation...

You are just another Buhari Bitcchh!!
He ruled wen nigeria had a strong currency, and oil prices were high, why didn't he turn his own village to say the least into a mini dubai?

Jonathan ain't a saint but he ain't a killer, Control freak, sectional and brutal leader like your paymaster!

When Oshiomole said if Nigerians knew the full details of the havoc GEJ wrought on the nation,he would be stoned, some people said he talks too much.
For a president known more for empowering militants and touts with phoney contracts and allowing all manner of politicians to do willy willy with our nations coffers, not to remember to provide ordinary portable water for his own hometown, not d entire Bayelsa o,summarizes the make up of the man that ruled Nigeria!
Here is a man that was deputy gov, gov, deputy president then president;an entire 16yrs in topmost public office and yet his people cannot boast of him attracting the construction or building of a portable water facility to his hometown!!
Anybody that says GEJ wasn't a curse to every territory he ever ruled is living in a nauseating denial!!!
stay here and keep ranting GEJ while the man savours his time outta this fuckeddd up country... your obsession with PGEJ Will kill you oneday!

When has supporting APC for presidency largely because of Buhari translated to supporting all those "corrupt" people you mentioned. Even among corrupt politicians there are lesser evil.
Lol @ 'lesser evil'

The fact that you punctuated the word 'corrupt' means you don't think those guys are indeed corrupt.

Another Stalemate!!! Too Bad!

I personally think we should hold ALL our leaders accountable even Em Buhari whom have built a good reputation for a supposedly flawless record... Party affiliations aside!

This is just damn serious. Just two official cars?

I am lost for words with the level of stealing of government monies and properties by our officials.

How did we get here? I blame the person who laid the foundation of corruption in our modern democracy - OBJ.

OBJ had eight years to put us on solid footings but he didn't deliver. I weep for Nigeria!

And there are some eediots who still take it as their duty to defend some of these looters; always shouting witch-hunting at the mention of probing. On what moral ground should anyone defend "pen robbers" who have knowingly sent many to their early grave and made many become destitute in their own country full of milk and honey?
Thesame reason why people like you support them Amaechi who stole Cars, Furniture, and EVEN CURTAINS!

You see? All of Us weep for our nation in our own way by being crassly partisan!

You accuse me of supporting Corrupt people, I accuse you of thesame... what is achieved? Total stalemate!

But how on earth could one support the likes of EL-Rufai, Amaechi, Sylva etc when these are some of the people that oversaw or partook in Nigeria's downfall in the last 16 years? But of course you'd say they are repentant( for joining APC) or They weren't indicted by any court and things like that.. If that's the case, Them IBB, Danjuma, Abacha are all saints as far as we concerned!

hmm..brother, but you and I know that Tinubu has bn tried b4 under previous regimes. Not once, I think twice or even three times sef and nothing was found on him. Funny enough, all these while, he was in the opposition. So now that he is in the ruling party, I doubt if anything can be done about him.

I don't think any of those shouting for him to be jailed have any hard evidence against him and that's why they are really frustrated. Remember that jonathan tried to get rid of him too in the most critical time but couldn't.

Its one of these; Jagaban knows the right people in the right places OR he knows how to cover his tracks...Or he is not as corrupt as people think. And God knows best.
I like your honesty! Despite You being A Lying Liar! grin grin grin
