Education / Re: 59,000 To Retake Examination: JAMB by Psalm18: 9:20pm On Mar 19, 2016 |
destinysaid: I know of a young lady who wrote in abuja( bwari center). She got 226. She got to the venue at 7 am and didn't start till late evening. She was able to pass because of her inner strength. Not everyone has that mental strength to be a singleminded in purpose. Exams are meant as test not avenue to frustrate candidates. I have written series of examinations successfully here and outside nigeria- making conditions conducive is part of the testing process. Dibu and his gang knew jamb 2016 was coming since last year and budget was made for the ict centres, power backup and security. On the day of the exam; candidates, jamb officials and the press reported that computers were logging out arbitrarily, some centres lost power and exams started late. It is for candidates who no fault of theirs were affected by all this; I cry for not those who failed to read and prepare. 2017 is around. The time for planning is now not February next year. Jamb should build more ict centres- mega centres, get lister generators etc Jamb gets subventions as well as exam fees- they should plough majority of that back to the candidates who by the way, without them- they will be no body like Jamb 1 Like |

destinysaid:You are ignorant on the matter. So you shut your hole. Of course logic is not your strong suit nor data analysis. You are used to emotions and making decisions based on your shallow brain. Two things for you to reflect on 1. Why is jamb prepared to allow this number of candidates (50K +) resit the exams if the whole process worked smoothly. 2. Don't tell me the story of someone you know who didn't pass because she didn't read her books. Where you with her every minute of the day to understand if she did or did not study. People like you are quick to pass judgements based on emotions. Because of jamb she should not interact or make socials visits anylonger. Finally why was jamb releasing two sets of result for one candidate. Ponder on those issues if your brain cells would engage. 3 Likes |

Swift and fast Innoson. Some of our victorious national teams are grandpa's still waiting for their houses and plots of land. Proud of the guy for having the courage to tell Okorocha to sustain the free education- some of us will have used the occasion to sing fake praises on the governor. 6 Likes |

One of the blind candidates scored 286, so why should others complain? The arrogance of the man called Dibu Ojerinde. So because one candidate scored that; others with legitimate concerns such as ict failure, late examination etc should throw a party for jamb and the so called blind candidate. You want to hope for Nigeria at times but things like this sinks you. For a 'professor' not to understand that one candidate who had no hitches is a drop in the ocean compared to the thousands jamb system failed makes me wonder if Dibu is Dino Melaye in a mask. So insensitive and arrogant. P. Buhari should do the right thing and sack this fellow tout de suite. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Should Dibu Ojerinde not be tendering an apology and immediately resigning for administrative failure. If this army of young people who for no faults of theirs are unable to get into schools this year. As a nation; we are transitioning future kidnappers, prostitutes, thugs and once chancers by our collective inaction to resolve their complaints. |

I am not aware that ability to cope with the rigorous and laborious training offered in medical schools is dependent on the age of the students. Available evidence does not suggest that. Seriously, I don’t think you have to be a grandparent to study medicine or dentistry in Nigeria or other parts of the world' Well said by Nigeria Medical council 2 Likes 1 Share |

Expectedly. Why are policies in the main announced at functions. Eg- invite cbn governor to women forum; he will announce govt intervention for women. Invite him tomorrow for men forum; he will substitute women for men. This sort of 'occasion' policy making attracts flip flops. 4 Likes 1 Share |

And the real economist, accountants and related professionals are on nairaland engaged in abusing each other over these thieves. To think this is happening under Buhari watch. If their qualifications are put side by side with their positions; don't be suprised lots of them did not read courses related to finance. Tomorrow; these clowns will say the future of Nigerian youths is entrepreneurship but they hustle government jobs for their kids. If entrepreneurship was that easy in an economy like ours why are their kids not involved. 51 Likes 5 Shares |

Crime / Re: NDLEA Arrest 4 Nigerians, 4 Mexicans In A Drug Factory In Delta by Psalm18: 8:28pm On Mar 12, 2016 |
This is a big deal. The south american cartels have been looking to outsource their production in countries with weak institutions and poverty. Guinea Bissau, our regional neighbour is already termed the first narco state in west Africa. The cartel detest losing money; so the factory should be razed completely. And then the Mexicans sent to the US DEA. The next worst thing to the cartels is having its operatives singing to the feds. If we must beg the Americans to accept to extradite the mexicans-then let's do it. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

I think for clarity sake; these are not the fulani herdsmen allegedly killing and raping across nigeria. These are bandits who steal cows. It's a whole cycle of violence-a sort of positive feedback loop- herdsmen loose cows and kill those who steal from them. Extra judicial killlings from both sides won't stop the violence and also our borders are too porous. The fulani who are killing operate using dark as cover. 13 Likes |

I read only the first page to gauge people response. Nothing new. Abuse, commendation, silly comments, etc. It's important young people get involved in politics if the motive is right. Same way 'religious' people should be involved to bring desired change. The op has nailed his colour to the mast for pdp; everyone should be encouraged to be involved in the political process. The danger of not being involved is that inferior elements like thugs and thieves will take over. Also it's important to have a healthy opposition to keep the other side in check, Nigeria working should be the goal . 1 Like 1 Share |

Due to the potentials for invasive species and contaminated products which cost billions of dollars; countries are very careful what they allow in to their borders except nigeria of course. The quarantine service has to be strengthened with human capacity and technology. Lip service won't cut it; rest of the world is serious about import/export so we have to buckle up. 1 Like |
