Politics / Re: I Returned Metuh’s N25m To EFCC, Sambo’s Ex-aide Tells Court by Psalm18: 5:06pm On Feb 04, 2016
Kyase:

Keep dreaming

You think the judge will sentence metuh based on media trials and judgement passed on nairaland..
Wake up from dreaming..the law courts don't work that way.
You present hard evidence,
You get reliable witnesses
You ensure there is no doubt in the mind of the judge
It's a dogged battle

Fani kayode was convicted on pages of newspaper. He is free today.
Ibori was set free in a Nigeria court. Dariye has been in court for over ten years now.

We all heard on the phone, the voice of farouk lawan asking for bribe. I believe he is still a senator today
So many others.
Politics / Re: I Returned Metuh’s N25m To EFCC, Sambo’s Ex-aide Tells Court by Psalm18: 4:57pm On Feb 04, 2016
Already the prosecution team is presenting evidence that does not meet the standards of the evidence act.

Don't be surprised if Metuh walks free.

How can an organization as critical as EFCC keep on employing lawyers that are substandard?

Keyamo made so much noise and he could not secure high profile convictions
For almost ten years now, Chief Rotimi Jacobs has been prosecuting EFCC cases. I don't know how many top dogs he has successfully prosecuted.
Efcc should get the best defense attorneys and pay them the going rate this criminals pay to get out of jail.

Education / Re: Photo Of Overcrowded Lecture Hall In UNN by Psalm18: 5:22pm On Feb 03, 2016
Shameful

1.Oregon state university, USA chemistry class

2.University of Ghana students listen to their political science professor, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh in Accra, Ghana on October 14, 2015.

It will be difficult if not impossible to produce the next batch of successful chemist in that crowded hall.
Little wonder we cannot produce employable graduates.

Nuc needs to do more unannounced assessment visit and sanctions schools with more students than facilities.

Symbolic acts are good and well..
Just match it with real actions.

Oshiomole also wears khaki but we hear allegations of his waste in Edo.

Give me a person who will wear expensive clothes on his salaries but execute projects well..
In universities, some of the biggest thieves as lecturers are those who call themselves ' comrades'

Enoquin:
Russia won again by sending the first female.

But was it a random selection or was there more to sending Komarov?
From my reading further on it .looks like he was selected from a pool of others and he was the most qualified.
His backup in case he refused to go was to be Yuri Gagarin who was also his best friend.
He agreed because he didn't want Gagarin to take his place: he sacrificed his life to save him.
Everyone according to the reports I read knew the soyuz spacecraft used for this mission was defective but nobody had the guts to tell Brezhnev who was Russia premier at that time.
Essentially everyone accepted he was never coming back but the mission still launched.

I personally have never heard this story before today: use Google to find NPR radio, the American public station it has a voice recording of Komarov screaming as he hurtled to death.

Fascinating read OP.
The space race during the cold war when both countries sacrificed billions to be the first to put man in the moon.
Of course the Russian won the battle ( first in space) and America won the bigger prize( moon)

The 'truth' is just more conjectures and guess work.

With the way, the SUN worded the headline, I was expecting the actual name of the illness.

Sensationalism is thy name, Sun newspaper.

Oliseh should be asked to step aside based on compassionate grounds.
He is clearly not the best fit for the eagles.
I just pray he is now humbled to realise the hard work Keshi put in place to win the afcon.

If the good minister Dr. Oby won't get this trending and head omojuwa won't start a hashtag on twitter, please lets rally round this professor who is illegally been detained.
Sahara reporters may have also lost their local bureau chief in Northern Nigeria. I checked their webpage and nothing was on it.

Those comments above are not hate speech not in any ways, not in any sane clime..

The police due to political pressure may arrest him, that's their prerogative but I'm.confident he will be freed by a competent law court.

El rufai said more terrible things about Jonathan on his twitter.
If the Kaduna police had any sense, they will go after the mosques and madrassas where young boys undergo indoctrination under pedophilic mallams who rape their minds and bodies.
If the Kaduna state government had any sense, they will put structures in place to curb the practices of Fulani herdsmen who rape and kill its citizens.
Finally if the Kaduna state government under el rufai had any iota of sense, it will investigate those who indoctrinated a young abdull mutalab, the underwear bomber to carry out his terrorist acts... If they had any sense they will leave a lecturer who is contributing his quota to lifting Kaduna citizens from being zombies to well rounded individuals.
Our schools already suffer dearth of good lecturers, don't victimize this one.

students of Nigeria history, will remember we lost great lecturers under the government of IBB who were afraid of criticism and this caused brain drain.

Politics / Re: A Rejoinder To Pics Of Metuh Having Dinner With His Family After Making Bail. by Psalm18: 12:45pm On Jan 29, 2016
senatorbayor:
Good thoughts and reasoning though!

Let's not join the frays of those who do media trial and condemnation.

Let's remember that every accused remain so until the court proves or find him guilty.

That an accused gets bail and join with his family does not denied him privileges of life.

The law does not recognised emotions as some of us may want it to be.

If we are to be judgemental in our opinion, I can bet you, lots of the politicians we celebrate today should be putting on veils but alas, they find their way into our political space, do one or two political abracadabra and they win our hearts and the gullible youths begin to defend them and call them hero of democracy.

Until we change the law to ; you are guilty until the court pronounce you innocent, then we must not call any accused criminals or thieves until such cases are proven and they are found guilty as charged.

Majority of those who constitute the ruling party today have one corrupt case or public perception about them, yet they join others to cast aspersions on an accused like them.

Let's move for judicial reforms, executive political will to implement reforms, legislative ideology to amend archaic laws to conform with present happenings.
Then we are at liberty to call an accused criminal.
What if the court finds them not guilty based on the evidence provided, do we retract our bad comments about the accused?

Today, OBJ who is the chief initiator of corruption in the NASS has written an hypocritical letter accusing them of same ; I'm sure he will be called an hero of anti corruption soon and all his past deeds of introducing Ghana must go politics and do or die will be forgotten without his apology.

I won't join in the media propaganda but wait for the court to decide.
The river state election is an eye opener.

The court is not a father xmas to dash out judgement based on public perception and emotion but how you can prove your case with proven evidence.

Nigeria shall be great again.
Amen
Well spoken.
The hypocrisy stinks at time to high heavens.

More pressure should be put on EFCC to get their investigation thoroughly done.
As you said, courts are there to dispense justice.

In as much as I believe 90% of our public officers are nothing but thieves, law enforcement has to do the hard work diligently of prosecuting them.
We need good institutions not hard men.
Hard men die, lose elections, become chameleons but good institutions will outlive all of us.

Not surprised.
If he was not guilty, why will he stall the trial for almost 6 years.

Next in line should be Odili, who got an injunction barring EFCC from ever investigating him.

As for Atiku, every man and his dog knows he is found where shady dealings are taking place.
When President Buhari starts compiling list of homeowners in Dubai, Atiku name should be first on the list.
