Instead,u shd hit the msconfig command to view the startup programs and services.moreso,find a registry cleaner to remove invalid entries from the registry...
These are the main causes for ur problems else ur hard drive is weak and probably having defective sectors..ur ram can never be the cause,if it was,it wldnt boot up

Then remove the RAM module and reinstall it. If the problem persists, replace the RAM module.

It could be a poorly seated or defective RAM.

But do the following first.

Boot into Safe Mode, leave it there for a while and see if the same thing happens.

Does the system hang randomly? Or only when you perform certain tasks, e.g web browsing?

Is it a single 2GB RAM module? Or 2 pieces of 1GB RAM module?

Yes. It was only the RAM upgrade that I did. Nothing else. And yes, the system hangs randomly. Even when performing simple task. It can even hang on its own while on standby. The 2GB RAM module is single.

No. I didn't. I just upgraded the RAM.

Please, help me. I use HP mini notebook. Recently, I upgraded its RAM from 1GB to 2GB. Since then, it's been slow. Sometimes, it hangs for few minutes before it starts working again. Is it as a result of the 2G RAM or something else? Thanks. God bless you as you reply.

Having exhausted the 3-week ultimatum
given to the management of Nasarawa State
University, Keffi and the state government to
meet its demand, the Academic Staff Union
of Universities (ASUU) NSUK Chapter on
Monday 7th March, 2016 declared a
“comprehensive, total and indefinite strike
that will continue until all issues raised are
resolved”.
In a press release at the end of the meeting
held at the Assembly Hall of the University,
the Union ordered that there will be “no
lecture, no supervision, no field trip/
workshop, no defense whether internal or
external, no weekend lecture, no sub degree
lecture, no practical, no conference on
campus, no external examination, no
ceremonial activity such as convocation and
matriculation involving academic staff and
academic staff in library and ICT will not
render services".
The release also states that “no statutory
meetings at all levels- senate, faculty,
department, and subcommittee” involving
members should hold.
It directed “members who holding positions
as Council members, deans, head of
department" not to attend statutory
meetings called by the administration.
ASUU also instructed members not to see
students, supervise students or perform any
engagement whether official or private with
students of all cadres.
The Union is demanding payment of
backlog of Earned Allowances and the
repositioning of the university’s
infrastructure.
