Pu7pl3 I know what "developmental" means and that's not NXT. It's a 3rd brand, but the company still calls it developmental, so who am I to argue. That being said and done, a former world champion has no business going to developmental brand to win belts. Neither Ronaldo or Messi will return to their developmental brands for anything, when they are not insane. But this is pro-wrestling, where nothing makes sense, so we'll leave it at that.
Wrestling is all about building and elevating as much talents as you can. Becky winning that title not only solidifies her own legacy by getting the one that eluded her finally but her presence also elevated the whole environment and the other women she is going to work with.

WWE NXT REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Tha Man
Before we get started here, big shoutout to the cat rocking the “Owen 3:16” t-shirt. I haven’t seen that in years and it brought back so many memories. Hard overstating just how crazy and seismic 1997 was for WWF.
But I digress.
Before the championship match between Tiffany Stratton and Becky Lynch, we got a story that didn’t play to the typical old school vs. new school. Becky gave Tiffany all the props in the world but believes she’s a selfish brat only looking out for herself. That’s Tiffany’s character so that makes sense.
Tiffany, for her part, believes her success now dwarfs anything Becky did at that same stage. If she’s at this level now, imagine how high she’ll go with more time. Tiffany, in a way, felt picked on and bothered by someone who is jealous. I didn’t buy that but Tiff’s the heel and that plays into Becky’s critiques.
Once the talking stopped, we got a very solid match between the two with several highlights. It started with Becky showing her agility and gymnast skills. A little mind games go a long way and that established she can do what Tiffany does if she really wants to go that route. Tiffany didn’t try wrestling Becky’s game but she showed off her power multiple times. She lifted Becky with one arm to reverse the Dis-Arm Her, and she even tried reversing another arm bar attempt with a powerbomb. I say tried because, once again, Becky showed the agility when she countered the counter with a Frankensteiner.
There’s something here with both wrestlers pulling tricks out their respective bags. It showed how important the championship is and how big this match is for both women. Becky never won the NXT Women’s championship while Tiffany understood what a win over Becky does for her career. Saying they pulled out the stops sounds cliche but it’s still true.
The other idea on which they built the match? Becky’s veteran instincts. Tiffany went for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever not once, not twice, but thrice. And Becky answered every time. First she met Tiffany on the middle rope and hit her with a Russian Leg Sweep. Then she played possum and caught Tiffany on her way down. And the third proved fatal for the now former champion. Becky rolled out of the way, Tiffany landed on her feet, and then Becky attacked with the Manhandle Slam. Those little details told a story on their own. Tiffany never learned her lesson and kept going back to the well, despite the fact it appeared bone dry. Her arrogance, which Becky also pointed out on Raw, ultimately cost her a championship.
Tiffany looks good in defeat here as she took Becky’s biggest shots and never gave up. Plus, there’s no shame losing to Becky with a championship on the line. None at all.
That was all she wrote. Ladies and gents, we have a new champion.
The intrigue comes now that Becky rules the NXT roost. Hopefully the division benefits and she puts on great matches with everyone, while eventually creating a big star on her way out. But that’s for tomorrow. In this moment, let’s just bask in her glory.
NXT just got a lot more exciting.

B-Sides
Physical Stamina
Ilja Dragunov’s matches revolve around one question: Can you withstand the physical punishment? Every match, including this one with Wes Lee, reaches a high point where either him or his opponent waves the white flag because they just can’t take it anymore.
Early on, it became clear that Wes not only prepared for that punishment but dished out so much of his own. I loved this match and the way they booked it. Just two guys beating each other up for a shot at the most important championship in their lives. No errors, no false moves, and everything made sense. They presented a match that might go in a different direction on another Tuesday. But it came down to Ilja’s pain tolerance over Wes’. That’s Ilia’s whole thing thoug; he loves punishment and hurt, therefore he always has the edge. He not only suplexed Wes onto the commentary table, but slapped him so hard once that Wes’ hair tie flew out his hair and hit the mat.
After almost every big move Wes dished out, Ilja rose to his feet first. And that includes a hellacious Hurricanarana that spiked Ilja’s head. It took more out of Wes than his opponent. That’s why Ilja won and it’s also why his match with Carmelo Hayes at No Mercy might outdo their first bout from the summer.
Incredible match that deserves all your attention. Also deserves your attention? Wes cleaning out his locker later. It happened with Melo and Trick Williams having a heart to heart about their friendship. And then that thing above this paragraph happened. Curiouser and curiouser.

Da Mad Face Invasion
I wish I got into the Dana Brooke and Kelani Jordan. I love when everyone has something to do and we’re even getting character development. But they’re selling this as Dana showing jealousy over Kelani’s success. And to that I ask, what success? First it was Dana showing aggression that Kelani didn’t have, thus showing her the ropes. Now it’s jealousy? Dana lost to Lyra Valkyria because of course, but let’s figure out the angle here before continuing.

False Prophets
Guess what? Myles Borne turned his back on Briggs, Jensen, & Fallon Henley! That’s the main thing from this very short match that saw Myles join forces with Briggs & Jensen against Charlie Dempsey, Drew Gulak, & Damon Kemp.
I do love when Briggs & Jensen get into beef with someone, so at least that part interests me greatly.

Say Hi to the Bad Guy
I didn’t fall for Baron Corbin’s schtick but I enjoyed it. He fronted like he felt for Von Wagner (out indefinitely with a skull fracture) and that he had words for Bron Breakker. NOPE! He actually congratulated Bron for what he did. He said as much on commentary last week; Bron showed him that special thing which he yearned for anyone in NXT to display.
Bron not caring about any of that stuff though is always a nice touch and keeping with the character. Bron challenged Baron, keeping his word from several weeks ago when he essentially told Corbin that he wanted a piece of the former Bum Ass.
Baron playing the old man telling kids to get off his lawn amuses me at times. This is one of those times because he played off someone who I truly believe doesn’t care that he retired Kurt Angle or stood toe-to-toe with the Undertaker. We’ll see how that translates to an actual match but I’m looking forward to it.

Gettin’ Up
Sticking both Heritage Cup Invitational matches here because one really impressed while the other got relatively no time but is no less important.
Tyler Bate vs. Axiom rocked my world. I don’t recall a single unimpressive match from either man and they worked beautifully together this week. Tyler just overpowered him; the big strong boy came to play. Tyler refused to say die while Axiom eventually gave in after a flurry that included a springboard lariat and the Tiger Driver ‘97. That came after Axiom reversed the Tiger Driver a few moments earlier, which meant Tyler knew the only way to get the job done and he handled it.
As for the match between Nathan Frazer & Akira Tozawa, like I said, not a lot of time considering they went on right before the main event. But good offense out of Nathan and a W that actually means a lot for Group B. Duke Hudson asked someone to do the math (man after my own heart because I’m always asking others to do the math for me) and informed us that if/when he beats Joe Coffey next week, we get a three-way tie between him, Joe, and Nathan. That makes for some drama and I’m all about that. Hopefully it plays out that way.

Poppin’ Tags
I wonder what they’re doing with Malik Blade & Edris Inofe. We got a new attitude out the boys last week and that continued this week during their match against the Brothers Creed. They didn’t resort to anything underhanded, but they poked out their chests more and showed more hunger for the W. Yeah, they lost, but just barely.
Of course the tag team scene exploded during the aftermath. The Family watched from their locker room while Lucien Price and Bronco Nima threw hands on Malik & Edris. Meanwhile, the Creed’s stood victorious and welcomed a challenge from Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza, who looked on from the bird’s eye view.
Chaos always amps up anticipation.

Fantastic show. Several dope matches, some big announcements (NXT Women’s breakout tournament, Melo vs. Dirty Dom next week), and more table setting for No Mercy. And the Wes Lee saga took another cool turn that only makes me wonder where he goes from here.
Good show all around.

"Took themselves seriously" in what context? Because it was billed as a "Fantasy comedy" and nothing in that sub genre screams seriousness tbh. just wanted to make a "simple " live action of a popular merchandise and make many people's childhood fantasies come true, the promotion just went out of whack, as many brand didn't want to waste a once in a lifetime "PR goldmine" by not tapping into to it, Heck if i was a marketing lead at a big firm, i would probably fear for my job if i didn't"tap into the Barbie hysteria". WWE RAW REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Friend or foe
The ballad of Jey Uso continues this week. Kevin Owens wasted no time making his presence felt and his feelings known. And I’m thrilled they got this out the way quickly. After Sami Zayn’s warm welcome last week, I wondered how this might complicated things with KO. While he seems okay with Sami’s position, KO has no love for Jey. That said, he related to Jey’s circumstances. Much like a later moment with a different wrestler, Kevin kept it real about his past transgressions and complexity. He understands that no sins go unpunished and he certainly paid his dues for his. But he also informed Jey that a lot of the locker room wants the former Bloodline member out of Raw immediately.
Yeah, about that.
The Judgment Day’s offer still stands and they spent most of this early segment, and the rest of the night, selling themselves to Jey. They actually worked like demons in horror movies: isolate the main character and leave them no other choice.
It started with the impromptu match that saw Jey team with a very reluctant KO against Finn Balor & Damian Priest.
Jey & KO got along and worked well together until the former accidentally kicked the latter in the mouth. Now, it looked inadvertent even while Jey ponders Judgment Day’s offer. In fact, my one criticism for this opening match was the lack of tension on that front. It didn’t take anything from the match and obviously they still got to the main point, but I’m always down for more logical suspense.
But after the kick and KO taking the pin, Jey tried explaining what happened. But his track record works against him. Would KO or anyone trust his word? The Judgment Day might and they made sure they let him know that they’re fans too. Even after that match, they want him on their side. And still, Jey seems open to the idea. He’s making too many enemies at the moment, and we still don’t know who SmackDown gets as compensation, meaning that enemy list won’t get shorter any time soon.
I don't know if Judgment Day works with Jey and on the real, the man is crazy over as a face right now that it seems silly putting him with anyone else. But I’m curious how long they play this out. And yeah, I’m interested in seeing him as part of that group, even if it’s for a few weeks.

B-Sides
Return of the Funky Man
Nia Jax is back and in full effect. And she wants the Women’s Heavyweight champion.
How did we get here? Well, it started with the championship main event match between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez. For those who missed it, this served as Raquel’s rematch after Dirty Dom did dirty things at Payback. Adam Pearce banned Dom from ringside, which left Rhea all by her lonesome. How would she handle Raquel without Dom?
They booked the match perfectly at the start. Raquel showed power and aggression early while putting Rhea on her, back. Rhea looked human and confused. While I never saw a title change happening, I enjoyed seeing Rhea look vulnerable.
Eventually, the champ found her footing and it became an excellent back and forth contest between two powerhouses that rocked my world. Rhea even pulled off a Frog Splash, complete with a top rope shimmy. Just reminds the world again that her relationship with Dom is one of the best things going today.
This is the second match on this week’s card that deserves your attention. Not really for the finish but for everything preceding it. Rhea and Raquel killed it and gave us a memorable main event.
Now, let’s get to Nia. She showed up months ago and then disappeared but now she’s back for good. At least I think. She attacked Raquel during the match behind the ref’s back and snatched away all of her momentum. Rhea handled her easily at that point and secured the W with a Rip Tide.
Nia, rocking purple by the way, stepped in the ring while Rhea celebrated. The two almost gave each other props but Nia ended that blissful moment with a headbutt. Then the beatdown commenced and she ended it with her own Banzai Drop on the champ.
Rhea handled Raquel, although Ms. Rodriguez clearly has clause for another rematch given Nia’s actions. But now with Nia on her radar, how will Rhea react to this new challenger?

Massive Attack
I like them reestablishing Miz’s bullying antics. That’s the only reason he not only faced Akira Tozawa, but hit him with not one, not two, but three Skull Crushing Finales.
I do wish we got a more effective version though. Beating up on someone like Akira has a payoff when the true challenge is in the building. LA Knight’s nowhere within the vicinity, thus not around for a save. But, that’s just a barrier when building a feud between two cats on two different brands.

Da Mystery of Chessboxin’
Tommaso Ciampa seized his moment.
Before the intrigue, GUNTHER celebrated his historical reign and even got a little emotional. But he didn’t break character completely so props to him. And even more props for his loafers with no socks look. GUNTHER has style and I respect that.
What came next though let me know that when he loses that championship, it belongs to Chad Gable. Chad interrupted GUNTHER’s celebration and talked about their last bout. He talked about coming up short but also pushing the champ further than anyone else. He also referenced the tears that rolled down his daughter’s face when she watched GUNTHER beat her dad. And as a father, he can’t abide that.
GUNTHER called Chad a great competitor but a terrible father. And yeah, a fight ensued. So I firmly believe this championship goes to Chad because he vowed to do so for his kid. And, as GUNTHER put it, there’s no one left for him to beat. Or is there?
Cue Tommaso.
Adam Pearce challenge him to take a shot and that’s what he did. That resulted in a very fun six-man tag with Imperium on one side of the ring and Alpha Academy & Tommaso on the other.
The best moment occurred at the finish: Tonmmaso hooked GUNTHER in the Sicilian Stretch while Chad locked Giovanni Vinci in the Ankle Lock. Tommaso made GUNTHER watch his partner tap and rendered him utterly useless. Loved that so much.
This little union between Tommaso and the Academy totally comes a part the minute both he and Chad want GUNTHER’s belt. A triple threat match this fall sounds great. Doesn’t it?

Dead Homiez
Well, I didn’t see this coming. Xavier Woods approached Drew McIntyre this week. He took plenty umbrage with Drew’s comments about Kofi last week, and Drew compounded that disrespect with more vitriol thrown Kofi’s direction this week!
Habitual line stepping at its finest.
But Xavier threw all that shade right back at Drew and called him jealous. Of what you may ask? Of the fact that Kofi won his championship in front of a sold out audience while Drew settled for an empty Performance Center.
We do know Drew never got his moment in front of thousands, so yeah, I buy that to an extent. Either way, that gave us this fantastic match between X and Drew.
Go watch it and watch it now. Drew got the W and set his sights on Jey. Next week, he takes on Jey, a man he does not trust and doesn’t believe can stand on his own two feet.
We shall see.
But the bottomline: These two tore it up in Norfolk and it’s worth all your time.

By Your Side
Remember last week when Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler wrestled and seemingly joined forces? Well, that possibility became reality this week.
Shayna wrestled Chelsea Green, who hit the ring with a returning Piper Niven. Thank God she’s back.
After Shayna summarily handled Chelsea and finished her off with her version of Piper’s Pit (she says the move is hers because she’s the baddest woman on the planet now), Piper attacked her because, well, she’s Piper. Zoey hit the ring for the save but focused most of the attention on Chelsea. Then, illustrating just how intimidating Zoey & Shayna are together, they told Piper to leave the ring. No fists, no kicks, just tough talk. And Piper listened.
That’s a good moment. Backing down one of the strongest and toughest women on the roster shows how tough and strong they are.
Maybe they’re next in line for the championships? Actually, yes, I assume so.

Ready or Not
This thing between Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura still holds my interest. I like Shin’s promos where he keeps it real about Seth. Seth is, at his core, villainous. It seem small pointing that out but it continues his overall theme of exposing Seth to the world. And that goes beyond his injuries.
Seth, to his credit, responds by accepting those flaws and faults. He admitted he’s everything Shinsuke says he is, but he’s also a dad and a fighting champion. He’s showing complexity that few characters in wrestling get the chance at exhibiting. But it all boils down to fighting. Seth called out Shinsuke one more time. And just like last week, Shinsuke declined. But this time he involved Ricochet in his response. Shinsuke’s made Ricochet his Seth stand-in; he issued the customary backstage beatdown to Mr. O’Shea. Next week, we get Ricochet vs. Shinsuke, and I’m sure Seth will make his presence known.

Solid Raw with at least two dope matches worth your time. Stories moved a long, Tiffany Stratton and Becky Lynch signed their contract (without a fight), and Dom even interrupted Cody’s Jey Uso promo. They packed a lot in three hours but it never felt smothering or rushed. We got hooks for next week’s show too, so no complaints at all from me.

WWE SMACKDOWN REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS
The Bloodline saga continued on Friday Night SmackDown this week, in its usual main event slot.
Jimmy Uso, perhaps realizing the gravity of his situation now that his brother, Jey, has abandoned ship and skipped off to the greener pastures of Monday Night Raw, is back to attempting to get in the good graces of The Bloodline. He’s been met with resistance, of course, and even Paul Heyman seemed awfully stressed about how to handle things with Roman Reigns.
And then Heyman went and got himself hemmed up by AJ Styles and wouldn’t you know it, Jimmy was there to save him.
That set up the headlining match on this show, where Jimmy was attempting to take care of business as ordered by Heyman. Solo Sikoa, who Heyman originally said wasn’t there, showed up early in the match to look on.
And then Sikoa inadvertently cost Jimmy the match, considering he turned his back on his brother, giving Styles the opening to take them both out. Then he pinned Jimmy to the mat, 1-2-3.
Roman Reigns surely won’t like that.
It was almost instantly forgotten, though, because of the surprise that followed.
When Styles was trying to get himself out of dodge, he got clobbered from behind by The Judgment Day. They then offered him up to Sikoa while Corey Graves wondered if it was a peace offering.
This was also notable because Styles had told Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows to stay away from his match tonight after a disagreement backstage. So he ended up with one faction throwing him to another without his own faction to back him up.
So many factions, so little time. Or something like that.
I’m finding myself less and less interested in Jimmy’s plight here and more intrigued by the idea of a giant war for SmackDown between the competing factions trying to claim the territory. Hey, we’re not far off from Survivor Series and maybe the return of WarGames, right?

Your LA Knight segment of the week:
My man LA went and did it — he cut a promo calling back to one of my all time favorites from the late 90s, Kevin Nash, and his legendary misunderstanding of the English language. He made sure to deliver a receipt for Nash calling him out too, making sure to slide in a remark about Big Sexy being a slowpoke for not knowing the difference between an adjective and a verb.
I love Nash, but this was pretty great.
Here’s what I’m really coming to love so much about Knight and how WWE is presenting him — The Miz has pretty much been right! He’s absolutely an Attitude Era throwback, from the way he walks to the way he talks to the juvenile nature of the insults he deals out. He reminds me of my childhood, when pro wrestling was a lot more mainstream and The Rock calling everyone a candy ass jabroni was cool.
Of course I love this guy.
Here, he had a ball of a time putting down Austin Theory and Grayson Waller before getting the chance to avenge his previous defeat to Theory. Sure enough, despite Waller trying to assist his friend, Knight pinned Theory after Blunt Force Trauma to keep the momentum going.
YEAH!
Oh, and we also got an interaction between Knight and Paul Heyman on this show, a formal introduction between the two. Heyman flexed some muscle (figuratively speaking, of course), and LA flexed a bit in return and they left it at that. But boy oh boy did they clearly want us thinking about the future.

All the rest
-The show kicked off this week with Charlotte Flair and Shotzi teaming up to take on Damage CTRL. It was a fairly standard tag team match until Asuka showed up ringside, taking the women’s championship off Dakota Kai’s shoulder and distracting both Bayley and Iyo Sky, allowing Shotzi to score yet another pinfall victory over Bayley. After, Asuka climbed in the ring to firmly establish herself as Sky’s top opposition. They had a staredown but didn’t come to blows just yet. The sooner we get to these two throwing down and having the kind of match they’re capable of, apart from all the other nonsense around Sky, the better off quite literally everyone will be. Later, they had Sky lay down the challenge herself. So it’s happening! We later learned it will take place in two weeks.

-Now that Finn Balor and Damian Priest are tag team champions, Triple H wasted no time booking them for SmackDown. They came over to say they’re the most dominant group in WWE, and none other than the Brawling Brutes answered the call to dispute that fact. Naturally, The Judgment Day took down Ridge Holland & BUTCH after a fun match. And then The Suit Profits hit the scene for a staredown. They vowed to be the ones to fill the power vacuum The Bloodline will be leaving behind when they inevitably crumble (which they’re in the process of doing). This was one hell of a tease for more faction warfare. I’m here for it.

A lot of videos on this show recapping quite a bit but still a strong effort.

The Miz can see through Cena and now he just shifted the perspective to you the viewer. He just exposed John Cena for the fraud that he is, the same way he will expose LA Knight at Fastlane.

Just like a David Lynch movie, the symbolism may go over the heads of the more casual viewer but the real theatre connoisseurs know the truth.

WWE NXT REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Baggage Handlers
I stand corrected. Tiffany Stratton and Kiana James created a solid championship match that set off NXT. Kiana gave Tiffany her best match since winning the title. They moved fluidly, got a little physical, while both women wrestled just a tad differently than what they usually give us. They didn’t wrestle a long match but it told a beginning, middle, and end, complete with Tiffany going for Kiana’s bag and opting for the DQ. Of course, that didn’t work, but she still found a way to cheat her way to a W when the ref missed her raking Kiana’s eyes.
I initially disagreed with Tiffany kicking out of the 401(K)...but then Becky Lynch showed up on the screen after Tiffany got her W and it made sense. If she’s putting her championship on the line against Becky next week, then making her look as strong as humanly possible is paramount. They did that in this short time and now she gets Becky.
On the real? Let Becky win. NXT’s women division feels rudderless at the moment. Let Becky run it for a while, create great matches, and make someone on her way out. Essentially, let her do what Dolph Ziggler did a couple years ago. Plus, there’s nothing on Raw for Becky right now. Trish Stratus is out of the picture and they’re separating her from Rhea Ripley. Let her work in Orlando for the time being.

B-Sides
The Day You’re Mine
I wanted to talk about Ilja Dragunov vs. Oro Mensah because I dug it. Oro rarely gets the chance to get serious in the ring anymore but he showed he still has that gear. And he got some character growth in as well, mocking Ilja at a point. He paid for it, yeah, but that’s one of the perks that comes with a faction.
Ilja won, yes, but they booked a competitive match that made Oro look a lot better after the fact than he did beforehand.
But the real story here is what happened after the match. Wes Lee hit the ring and told Ilja his time is now. He even promised Ilja the first shot at his championship after he defeats Carmelo Hayes. They bickered a bit but then Melo came out and set the record straight.
All that stuff I wrote last week about Melo letting pressure get to him and hearing voices? Yeah, that’s over with. Remember when he barged into Shawn Michaels’ office last week? Shawn not only booked a number one contender match between Wes and Ilja, but he convinced Melo that there is no asterisk on his W against Ilja. And the same goes for his match with Wes; they both took risks and Melo took advantage.
That’s wrestling and that’s the game. The person who makes the fewest mistakes normally wins. I do wish we got more out of that from Melo but I appreciate him going to his wrestling daddy for advice. Melo is a chip off the old heartbreak kid block. But there’s a bit more here too and it involves Trick Williams.
Ilja confronted Trick because he believes Trick lied to his best friend. Ilja says Trick knows Melo can’t beat Ilja, and then gave him a very weird ultimatum. Trick has two weeks to either stop lying to Melo or stop lying to himself. Ilja said it with all types of threat in his voice but I’m not sure what he’s demanding or asking Trick to do. Someone catch me up if they caught it.
Next week though? Wes vs. Ilja and the winner gets Melo at No Mercy. Fantastic. I can’t wait.
Oh! And Ilja’s old theme music is back. I’m not sure if he used it last week but I noticed it here and I’m overjoyed.

The Score
I wish Nathan Frazer and Duke Hudson got more time for their Heritage Invitational match. Not that they didn’t do a lot with a little, but I liked what I saw and think they had another gear. Very different styles, completely different characters, and contrasting approaches for the Heritage Cup.
Duke tried overpowering Nathan, thankfully. A man that size wrestling Nathan’s style hardly works for me because it negates their biggest advantage. But Nathan used that power against Duke, reversed a Razor’s Edge, and took advantage.
Big W for Nathan as the Heritage Cup Invitational moves forward.

Stand Strong
Tyler Bate got the victory over Daba Kato. Smart move and smart match. Not long at all, but Tyler attacked Daba before the bell went ding. Once again, logical booking given the size discrepancy between the two and the stakes.
But props to Tyler for not only lifting Daba on his shoulders but then spinning him around multiple times. I didn’t count but the fact that he spun him around even twice is amazing.
A perfect showcase for the Big Strong Boy.

Count Me Out
It’s always hard writing about matches that aren’t really about the match. When we have Dragon Lee and Mustafa Ali wrestling for a shot at the North American champion with said champ refereeing, it’s about that.
That said, Ali and Dragon did the damn thing. Minus one slight hiccup towards the end, they wrestled a clean match. But the intrigue stayed with Dom. He called it down the middle 99 percent. But that other one percent? That made all the difference in the world.
After slow counting Dragon’s pin attempt, he hit a super quick count for Mustafa’s next pin attempt. And that was that. Of course Dom never wanted Dragon. And he always wanted this match just to pick his next opponent.
For his troubles, Mustafa knocked him out after the match because that’s not how he wanted the win. He isn’t giving it back, of course, but still.
This makes me think Dom defeats Mustafa somehow some way and sets the stage for Dragon vs. Dom down the line. That’s the big match with the most emotion and story given their respective backgrounds and opposing views on Rey Mysterio. It’s the son Rey always wanted vs. the son he wish never existed.

Mob Ties
Butch and Axiom gave us the best match this week. Bar none. And it felt like the perfect moment for a tie-in the Heritage Cup Invitational. These two battled to a stand still and it added more drama while effectively illustrating how much this cup matters. When neither wrestler gives up even an inch, that says it all.
Butch got another point in his grouping but he felt horrible about it. Even that works wonders for any tournament.
Watch the match, thank me later.

Three Stories High
Thea Hail showcased more of her new attitude this week. This time, with Jacy Jayne firmly in tow. They did little character stuff with Thea, like Jacy telling her to tone down the energy and drop the bullhorn. Gigi Dolin looked on in disbelief. In fact, the only reason we got Thea vs. Gigi is because the latter offered some unwelcome advice to the former. As Jacy’s former friend, she knows a hustle when she sees one. Blair Davenport came out of nowhere and agreed with Gigi but since those two still have issues, that harmony only lasted so long.
I’m curious if Thea grows into roll or if her looking this uncomfortable is the point. I’m guessing it’s the latter. She wants to be Jacy but she’s not.
But the big thing here, besides the match itself, is Blair attacking Gigia and helping Thea get the victory. I like Blair vs. Gigi a lot because that screams violence and aggression. Let’s do that.

Bear Meat
A great few days for fans of meaty men slapping meat. Bron Breakker and Von Wagner added their names to the meat pantheon with nothing but violence and meat slapping. And while Bron won, the whole thing felt dedicated to getting Von over. I think they succeeded.
Couple key moments.
One, Von reversing the Steiner Recliner. Bron sold it beautifully and it showcased Von’s strength.
Two, Bron spitting on Von. And I don’t mean a little dribble either. That man hacked a loogie at Von and it was brilliantly disgusting. That set off Von and caused a chain reaction of violence. Starting with repeated Kendo stick strikes and ending with Bron going headfirst through the NXT set. Oh, and of course, Bron got tabled.
Lastly, the ending. Bron won the match and then kept going. Things apparently got so nasty that once he picked up the steel steps and slammed them on Von, the camera cut to black. We still got audio and we heard the crowd’s reaction along with Baron Corbin on commentary shocked that Bron actually did it. It’s up top, you saw it.
He smashed the stairs on Von’s head. The cameras cut it but it’s not hard putting one and one together. Even for someone like me who sucks at math.
They’re really making next week must see television, aren’t they?

Solid show. The rhythm felt a little off since they got to a lot of important stuff early, but that left more room for the main event so I understand the sacrifice. I didn’t touch on the NXT tag team scene but just know that the Creeds reinstated the Diamond Mine dojo, invited all the teams for a get together, and hell broke loose. Is anyone shocked at that?
Next week is stacked in what might be their best show of the year, at least on paper.

I started yesterday.... 3 episodes in and I'm hooked as fvvk. Ma stupid bank wey debit me without reimbursing me my airtime.... I for don download the remaining episodes by now.

I haven't watched the anime tho. The live action was weird at first but after 30mins and moving past the first episode it got engaging.

I'd say Netflix kinda got it as well as many fans online saying they did a pretty good job.
I swear bro I had really low expectations for it but I was pleasantly surprised.
I was even shocked they showed blood and some gritty stuff I didn't expect.
IT was really good.
