So the elections have come and gone. Winners have been announced. Some losers have accepted their loss while some have chosen to go to court.

But reflecting on the LP movement and the strides they made, I expected Peter Obi and the LP movement to have done more after the presidential elections. I expected Peter Obi to have campaigned for the LP Gubernatorial and State houses of assembly candidates. It seems his only focus was on Lagos where he couldn't even win. He should have campaigned for LP candidates in the SE, SS and NC. May be the whole movement was just about him and taking Lagos.

Peter Obi had a chance to build a formidable 3rd party. He won In 11 states and should have built on that momentum and focused on building a party rather than taking Lagos. Hw could have learnt from Tinubu.

After leaving office in 2007, Tinubu focused on winning gubernatorial seats for his party. He started with just Lagos, then Osun and Edo. Later Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo joined. He was then in a strong position to form an alliance with CPC and make APC a national party. This process took 8 years. And then Tinubu became president after 8 years of APC.

It seems Obi has already given up on LP after just 8 months. He should have campaigned very hard for LP candidates in the SE, SS and NC may be he could even get 4 governors. But at it looks now, he will only get one governor. The one governor would be isolated and easily defect. His strategy of focusing only on Lagos was the wrong one. He could never win Lagos with GRV.... he had a flawed candidate. This process takes time and you just can't create a new party and become president in 8 months or governor in 4 weeks.

So Obi is in court which he will almost certainly lose. So what does he do next? Rejoin PDP but Wike will smoke him out. Lead the Biafra movement thereby challenging MNK? Or just retire to his trading. Please what next for Peter Obi and LP....

Electronic Voting on national level cannot be compared with local election within a state. Reason is that this electronics have more than 500000 ways of manipulating it. Believe you mean, the memory slot where the votes are store can be manually changed, hacked or destroyed remotely. Moreso, results can be intercepted during transmission. There are tons of loopholes desperate politicians can exploit to manipulate results. The Government might also collude with INEC to pre-programmed to favor a candidate.

Judging from the attacks on irev portal in the recent president election, report has it that there was more than 10000000 attacks on a single day. Now factor that big electronic distributed in about 180000 Polling units, imagine the different alterations, disruptions and manipulations that can be deployed to favor a politician?

I’m of the opinion that a proponent of leadership in any part of Nigeria at this challenging times should not be inciting violence or supporting a rebellion. I’m also of the opinion that, based on the posts alleged to have been put up by this ‘Gbadebo’ Rhodes Vivour guy, recently or in the past, he should not be allowed to contest as an administrator of Lagos (especially Lagos being a state that resides people from all tribes and regions in Nigeria)! The question is, is it too late for him to be adequately probed about his intentions and interests and whether or not he’s willing to serve the interests of everyone regardless of tribe, ethnicity or religion? Left to me, I’d say he should be arrested and questioned by the DSS… what’s your own opinion about this?
