- This is the first time Leicester have scored five against United since November 1930.It appears LVG is fast proving to be a greater record breaker than David Moyes. That last 'record' is particularly damning considering we've only played small teams like Burnley, Sunderland, Swansea, QPR and Leicester City (a point per game is too, too poor). To think all these records came in a single match, against a newly promoted team, with far better players at his disposal... LVG's sack may come sooner than anyone expects if he continues at this rate. |
nitlad: Bros chill. . .Lol... you beat me to it. I tire mehn. ![]() |
dopeJemi: Its either u've lost the ability to read or u never had it IKILL: Let me assume u were high last night, obviously you are not blindLOL. Are these guys for real? Chai! Naija education system ehn... ![]() I know it's a trend in this sports section especially to throw jabs so as to seem tough (or cool) but y'all need to calm down. "Are you representative of..." is a very grammatically correct statement. The word "representative" as used in the sentence serves as an adjective, rather than the noun you both obviously assume it should be. The inclusion of the indefinite article "a" before "representative" would change the meaning of the statement altogether. Are you representative of the average United fan? - Do you typify/epitomize/embody the average United fan? (which is what dayo meant). Are you a representative of the average United fan? - This is not even grammatically correct due to the inclusion of "the average", but if we were to ignore that, it's basically a question that asks if you are an agent or delegate of United fans (which is not what dayo was asking). You are welcome. ![]() |
raumdeuter: You sound like an illiterate. Are you representative of the average manure fan? It must suck being you anyway dopeJemi: The ironyAbsolutely nothing wrong with the grammar there. Quit giving dayo a reason to yab United fans abeg. |
Rooney's first touch though. ![]() |
Rooney just saved my fantasy week with that goal. Another two goals from him please. |
MrAnony1: Yes, the OP was once an atheist. Then he got wise.I see you haven't changed a bit. You didn't even say anything differently. By your own admission, you only do good because of a belief that you have been redeemed vicariously. Otherwise you have no reason to do good, for then you would feel guilty for failing to return the 'love' of this supposed redeemer. And why should you feel any guilt in the first place, except for the fact that the penalty for being unable to 'love the one who first loved you' is an eternal vacation in hell. "He loved me first so I must love him back, or else I'm doomed" ...sounds like a very unhealthy relationship if you ask me. |
elampiro: I saw something like that, I think yesterday or day before, I refused to read the details. If you read the report, you'll see that they included details of the other guys you listed here as well. For instance, Madrid overpaid for Rodriguez too. Barca actually underpaid for Suarez. Chelsea underpaid for Fabregas, etc. CIES calculate using variables like age, contract length, goals, points per match, etc. You can calculate yourself using their online tool: http://www.football-observatory.com/The-CIES-Football-Observatory-transfer-value |
elampiro: some said Di Maria wasn't worth above £35mYou raised good points, but those that argued this part weren't wrong. According to the CIES Football Observatory, Di Maria's actual value is £35.8m but we overpaid by £23.9m. Read the full report here: https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/pitchside-europe/manchester-united--overpaid-for-di-maria-by-%C2%A324m-200537147.html |
Saw this somewhere: United under SAF were like that old factory engine, held together by makeshift pipes and wiring, of which only that one old engineer knows how to run it. Once that old engineer retires no one else knows how to get the thing running. Moyes tried with more makeshift wiring and piping. He failed. Van Gaal has decided to build a new engine all together. |
This one that all our players are dropping like flies. Last season, Moyes was the dinosaur over-training the players. Is Van Gaal a dinosaur too? Dutch fitness coach Verheijen seems to suggest so. "The Luke Shaw case is the climax of Manchester United’s predictable pre-season injury crisis due to 'too much training too soon'." "During the World Cup preparation, the Dutch players had to do frequent double sessions, so not surprisingly the muscle injuries accumulated…" "At Man United, in the first few weeks, LVG has applied the same approach and, as expected, with the same result: accumulation of injuries." http://www.squawka.com/news/dutch-fitness-guru-raymond-verheijen-slams-louis-van-gaal-over-handling-of-man-uniteds-luke-shaw/158910 |
elampiro: You are brainwashed with OMO.This man is a clown. ![]() |
elampiro: Must everything ascribed to me be countered? Did I claim anything on my own? I didn't even think it to mean anything until someone said this thread had more pages before I joined. .... And it turned out to be a lie. Just to disprove any claims given to me.elampiro, you seem to suffer from a very severe case of acute persecution complex. You seem to always somehow perceive the whole world to be against you even in simple arguments. You wallow in so much self-pity, it's almost unreal. You must be one of those people who constantly rant about imaginary "haters" and "enemies". You need to grow the fück up and quit thinking everyone hates you just because they point out something that seems unfavourable to you. DayoKanu/raumdeuter until recently was a one-man army in this section for years. On every thread he goes, he is opposed vehemently and insulted immeasurably; yet I have never for once seen him play the victim. He mans up, stands his ground and doesn't allow things to get at him. Heck, I think he has even won Poster of the Year on at least one occasion that I remember and he has been nominated several times. Before you joined this thread, there was a rule in this section that once a thread reaches 100 pages, it will be locked and a fresh one will be created. If my memory serves me right, United has had the most number of locked threads. There is no doubt that you and coogar have contributed your share to the traffic on this particular thread but even before your arrival, Manchester United threads have always thrived and that's exactly what I was pointing out to Nihilist. Perhaps you have a persistent need to feel special, and I do not intend to take that away from you. But please, quit this thinking that people are out to deliberately discredit you, especially when it concerns something as superficial as your perceived influence on a faceless forum. @red part, this is exactly what I wrote: Purist: Manchester United threads have always had the highest number of pages in this section before Elampiro found his way here.elampiro, man up and quit whining like a b!tch every gaddem time..!! |
Nihilist: I guess apologies are in order. My bad. We're cool. |
Nihilist: What other thread outside the politics sections offers this much entertainment value?Manchester United threads have always had the highest number of pages in this section before Elampiro found his way here. Nihilist: I can't remember a single thing of interest that you've posted in your 7 years of activity....LOL. I see I hit a nerve there. Anyways, sheathe your sword, GustavoFring. I actually enjoy your posts here, so that wasn't exactly a dig at you - just an observation. Worry less about me, as I'm more of a spectator around here. |
Is it just me or does Nihilist spend more time on the United thread than on Chelsea's? ![]() |
Van Gaal never said Luke Shaw was unfit. He said Shaw was not "fit enough" for the wing-back role. Big difference. StarBoard: *van Gaal said he needed to assess his players. If he already knew them there was no need to assess them.I think some perspective is needed here. Here is exactly what LVG said: "My method is always the same. I want to look at the players now - the players present. And of course, I know the players - how they play. But I don't know the players who I have trained and coached. So first I want to see surely the first three, four weeks - what they can do and then maybe I shall buy other players. And the players that we have bought now, Shaw and Herrera, were already on the list; so I gave my approval because I like them. But first I want to see the players performing my philosophy." He was clearly talking about assessing how the players would conform to his own playing style. So yes, he already knew them AND still needed to assess them. Secondly, it's amusing to watch peeps here give various interpretations to a very lucid and concise statement made by the manager. 'Shaw and Herrera were already on the list. I gave my approval because I like them.' In other words, if he did not give his approval, those two wouldn't be donning the United jersey today. Funny, when we were not signing players last summer, it was Moyes and Woodward at fault. This summer, only Woodward is at fault. Last season when Rooney was set to be named captain, Moyes was the weakling who had no balls. Now that the almighty Van Gaal has made Rooney captain, there is a loud silence from the usual suspects. Apparently, it appears Van Gaal can do no wrong in the eyes of some United fans. |
Thanks mukina. ![]() |
Mukina, codes please. Thank you. ![]() |
What a pass from Kagawa!! 3 - 1 |
tess1: I think Rooney scored the goal.Rooney didn't make contact with the ball. That was a beauty by Young. |
Argentinaaaaa!!!!! <3 Messi has to win this. ![]() |
Jarus: Essien is a great guy. Majority of Ghanaian football followers are not. I remember jsut before the final of the 2008 olympics between Nigeria and Argentina, where one Ghanaian user on Ghanaweb said he would commit suicide if Nigeria won. Since that day, I stopped supproting Ghana in any competition. I supported Uruguay against then in SA 2010.You stopped supporting Ghana because of ONE comment made by some random anonymous user? And how exactly does your singular experience translate to the 'majority'? ![]() |
How Valencia still starts games for us is totally beyond me. ![]() |
coogar: elampiro is a hypocrite.....lol... when I first saw this stat a couple of days ago, I remembered the Berbatov argument on this thread. So guys, is it too early to conclude that Suarez is a flat track bully as well? Or do we wait till the end of the season? ![]() |
WELBECK!!! |
superstar1: I am assuring you, he will wait till the usual 60th minute. You were saying? ![]() |
