Actually, while Fellaini certainly isn't the coolest of footballers, I think his disciplinary record is sometimes exaggerated. Yeah, he's a yellow card magnet (but then, so was Paul Scholes). However, Fellaini's only had just ONE red card in the past 4 seasons. |
FOLYKAZE: Hello.... How about killing mosquito or chicken for food? It same thing as cannibalism right.http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cannibalism FOLYKAZE: It up to mazaje anyway.....im good with any decisionIf a human were to be used for this demonstration, who would wear the 'jazz'? You? |
@Mazaje and FOLYKAZE How's the bullet proof test coming along? P.S. I had to go back a few pages, and something struck me from the exchange between you two. While FOLYKAZE implicitly entertained the idea that his 'jazz' could fail, mazaje on the other hand, was fully confident that it WOULD fail. By acquiescing to the demands of the skeptics here and accepting to use a goat instead of a human, it means that even FOLYKAZE himself recognizes the apparent fallibility of his so-called 'jazz'. After all, from our apparent anthropocentric worldview, any harm done to a goat is 'nothing' compared to the life of a human. I don't know about you guys, but supposing I made a claim that if I smash a glass plate on a concrete floor, it wouldn't break; no amount of pressure from skeptical folks would change my stance or make me accept to substitute my demonstration with a wooden plate instead. |
Uyi Iredia: I dey laff ! It is because you're on the gay supporters team your intellect hasn't gotten no slight yet. Let's see what you have here. I see, so being gay have no known adverse effect. Let me grant that. It just proves my point when I said disgust has been used as a metric to determine morality or otherwise. It so happens that if you use adversity as a moral compass, you fall into circularity, because adversity presumes evil. It is pitiable you don't mention lying. It is laughable you hardly note that stealing has been beneficial, much more so when the perpetrator isn't caught, the same for murder.smh. So much verbosity, so little sense. As I stated already, you and I have nothing to discuss here. Good day. |
Uyi Iredia: I didn't bring your sexuality or otherwuse into the issue so your talk of it is a non-sequitur. I don't think it reasonable that one draws parallels from other human aspects eg racial discrimination, prevalence of fornication, pleasure from l€$bianism into the gay debate as support and think it unserious when others draw parallels to inC€st, b€$tiality etc or in this case I softpedalled to lying and stealing. I think it highly fraudulent and deserving of censure. You can't, furthermore, expect me to gake you seriously if you refuse to look at the bigger questions on morality given this issue. That said, you happen to be one of the people I least associate with here, your name is not my problem. Your stance I strongly disagree with and yet it doesn't give me sleepless night or worries, I have more pressing concerns. Disgust has much to do with morality since there are things disgusting deemed immoral eg dirtiness, nudity and torture. There are many instances. Try as you would to seperate the two, you are fully aware that in your example, disgust for a hairstyle can be used as a basis (or used to find a basis) to deem it immoral. While I would indulge your request, my stance holds, and I'm confident that the article forwarded won't impugn but reinforce my statement on FHR.Apart from your idiotic insistence on comparing homosexuality (which has no known adverse effect on humanity) with stealing and murder (whose extremely negative effects are self-evident), all you've said so far can be summed up into one ridiculous non sequitur: "I find it disgusting, thus, immoral." Until you are able to provide a reasonable answer to kandiikane's earlier question, you and I have nothing to discuss here. kandiikane: Tell me, how is two men (/women)* in love immoral? (/disgusting?)* Uyi Iredia: I deem it so.* emphases mine |
jidegirl12: WoW you just broadcast my exacts thots I've had in my head throughout this week! You know, I had the same discussion with a very very liberal Namibian friend a few months back. As liberal as he is, even he couldn't help but fall into the same trap. His words: "two girls doing their stuff together is very cool by me, that's normal. But two men? Naah, that's just disgusting, mehn." Hypocrisy at its finest. ![]() |
Uyi Iredia: Hey ! Rottenkane. You've got another professor here. Let's see what he has here.lol, Uyi. I see you've been unnecessarily argumentative of late. Plus, it seems my username tends to give you erections. Just for the record, I'm possibly the straightest man alive. ![]() You see, when you begin to compare homosexuality with lying, stealing and killing, you cannot possibly expect me to take you seriously, or engage you in a reasonable discourse. By the way, issues of disgust and morality are very separate. I might personally find your hairstyle disgusting, for example. But by no means would it be deemed "immoral", even if 20,000 other people share my disgust. Lastly, please exert some effort into educating yourself on what human rights entail. http://www.ohchr.org/EN/Issues/Pages/WhatareHumanRights.aspx Cheers. |
One recurring hypocrisy I've frequently observed among the huge anti-homosexuality populace is that the vast majority of them (men in particular) have absolutely no problems with two women engaging in sexuäl acts together (lesbianism). As a matter of fact, many of them do not only thoroughly enjoy such spectacles, they even go as far as to repeatedly masturbäte to them. It's interesting to observe as well that whenever people debate homosexuality, they almost always have just one image in mind -- two men sticking their pénises into each other's anuses. They hardly ever mentally picture two women together. This in itself presents a very worrisome bias. For those of this inclination, it's interesting to note that recent studies have shown that anäl sex is possibly far more popular among heterosexual couples than it is among homosexual couples. Homosexual couples, it's been reported, are more likely to engage in only oräl sex and manual stimulation for their sexual pleasures. Such bias is made further evident by the fact that in virtually all reported cases of "gay beatings", the "culprits" are more often than not, men. I am yet to read of women being paraded on the streets, or being harassed, or being beaten to a pulp because they were allegedly "caught in the act". My observation is that the grouse many have with homosexuality is hardly a moral issue (save for the bible thumpers). It's simply one of personal disgust. This is evident in the way most men have no real problems with two näked women making out, and might even proposition a ménage à trois to fulfill their own fantasies; but the same men would easily puke at the sight of two men doing exactly the same thing. The danger here is that we cannot afford to make legislation based on our own individual subjective feelings, neither can we use such feelings to harass, debase, and subsequently, strip others of their own fundamental human rights. |

elampiro: The difference between SAF and Moyes is that SAF learnt how to keep his mouth shut while Moyes opened up or led the press to every of his inner thought.Apart from Fabregas, I don't quite recall Moyes telling the press about any transfer target so far. ![]() |
Copied. Football fans in England (and anywhere else for that matter): "I hate how the game is all about money now, ticket prices are ridiculous, and all players care about is money... But hey, why isn't my team buying player x, y, and z? We have only spent 20 odd million so far, sack the manager, the season is over!" ![]() |
SailorXY: whoever isnt happy with the extra cash paid on the fellaini deal is understandable, but saying he doesnt improve our midfield is just blowing hot air from azz. is he not better than cleverley? so what are we shedding tears for? his late runs into the box, added attcking and defensive ariel assurance, ability to keep the ball while shielding opponents is a plus to ball retention and reduced pressure on the team generally, something no midfielder we have now *maybe anderson* can do. we have players who can dribble and create chances in januzaj, lingard, van persie, kagawa, wayne, nani, zaha, evra, rafael. moyes should cup his b.a.l.l.s and play them regularly... not out swinging young or grandpa!Bros, you never hear ni? ![]() http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/football-united-miss-coentrao-deal-055620053.html |
lol, at the start of every season, there always seems to be various opinions and analyses upon analyses about how United are on their way down because of so and so. I'm so loving all these knee-jerk reactions, nay-sayings, and outright pessimism from the opposition fans and even our own fans. Will certainly make the victory all the more sweeter at the end of the season. ![]() |
Just stumbled on this thread, & i must say, it's pretty interesting. Nigeria has a theistic foundation, so to speak, to the extent that you can't hold a public office as an atheist. Worse still, discrimination is almost certain if you openly declare your 'un-believer' status, same you'll get as an indigenous believer. It's sickening & annoying to say the least.
A few weeks back, my mom called from Nigeria, and in her usual fashion, asked whether I had eventually "found a church" (she's been asking this same question for the past 3 years now). As usual, my response was 'No'. Usually, she would just sigh and encourage me to keep reading my bible and pray fervently. However, this time, she was genuinely worried. She then asked, "Are there really no churches there? Or is it a Muslim country?" In her mind, it's either Christianity or Islam. I'm 100% sure she has never heard the word "atheist" in her entire almost 6 decades of existence. |
Other [Spanish] sources are saying Herrera has been signed on a 5 year deal. This twitter nor go kill pesin. ![]() |
HumbledbYGrace: Have you ever read this: Religion: Share your faith and belief in God or higher powers here. His question... "WHY ARE MODS INTOLERANT TOWARDS NON CHRISTIANS AND ATHEIST" Just so you'll know, there are hundreds of millions of non-Christians that do believe in higher powers or God(s). Christianity and Islam aren't the only religions, you know? Pagans and satanists have just as much right in this section as Christians or any other religious group for that matter. In the same vein, atheists DO discuss religion and religious matters. Or isn't that what this section is about? Yes, the tagline of the Religion board states, "Share your faith and belief in God or higher powers here", but your insinuation would only make sense if it stated more specifically that, "Share ONLY your faith and belief in God or higher powers here." So that brings us back to his question: WHY ARE MODS INTOLERANT TOWARDS NON CHRISTIANS AND ATHEIST, ISNT THIS SUPPOSED TO BE THE RELIGION THREAD [CHRISTIAN, PAGAN, ATHEISM, ETC EXCEPT ISLAM]..... SO WHY ARE THEY HATING ![]() ?? |
jmoore: because that's what your low mental faculty can come up with.Says the fellow who compares homosexuality with r@pe and murder. Your brain would be more useful to scientists in helping to study the causes of chronic stupidity in humans. |
lol, I can't believe you folks are still peddling this "news" about, after 2 whole months since it was first published on the satirical news blog, Daily Currant. You so desperately wish it were true that you just have to circulate it as much as possible until people begin to literally believe it. Typical religionists. Well, I've got news for the OP and the fellow above me: The story isn't true. It's completely made up. It's satire! Sorry. ![]() Here's the original source: http://dailycurrant.com/2013/07/01/nasa-finds-message-from-god-on-mars/ |
^^ Haha, so this is the response of the "born again Christian mod" that Seun has gifted this section? Interesting times lie ahead indeed. ![]() |
jmoore: can you be a christian and still be a serial murderer? This is an exceptionally idiotic comparison. |
^^ Well said! |
nitrogen: Fuckkkkk Moyes! Why? Because Fergie never lost matches against Liverpool? Or never played even worse football? Or never started Giggs in big matches? Cut the man some slack FFS! |
I suspect we'll soon begin to read various rants here about what SAF would have done or wouldn't have done. |
A very revealing interview with Rene Meulensteen. On David Moyes' appointment of his own backroom staff: "I felt very strongly that the picture painted to us [by the club] was not the one that came out in meetings with David Moyes... I said to him: 'David, with all due respect, you’ve done a fantastic job in the Premier League with Everton but do you realise you’re going from a yacht to a cruise ship?’ Ferguson, the captain, had a good crew with coaches like me. I felt David wanted familiar faces which he is entitled to but it would have been absolutely no problem if he said: 'I definitely need Jimmy Lumsden as a sounding board but, hold on a minute, this cruise ship has been sailing successfully with this crew for the last five years so I might as well sail along with them for a season and see how it goes.’ It saddened me leaving... I had the best job in the world there. I loved every aspect of working with those top players. I know the team inside out, the club inside out." On United's loss to Barca in 2009 UCL final: “In Rome, it was a closer game but we didn’t utilise the qualities we had at our disposal. We had Paul Scholes, one of the best midfielders in the world, on the bench. With Barcelona, you need players who can keep the ball." On United's loss to Barca in 2011 UCL final: "At Wembley, our preparation had been brilliant but we lost it in half-time. There was an argument going on too long between players. I don’t think we used half-time to reiterate what we’d done all week. Look at the first 15 minutes of the second half, that’s where Barca try to kill off teams. They did. We didn’t start the second half the way we should and it cost us. People forgot what we’d done all week. Keep the ball." On United's loss to Madrid last season (Rooney, tactics and Fergie's slow reaction): That Champions League tie caused much discussion and angst after Wayne Rooney was left on the bench by Ferguson and Welbeck deployed in the hole to stifle Xabi Alonso. “The manager asked Wayne to do that role many times before, sometimes he’s done a perfect job, other times he hasn’t. It was such a big game. We felt sometimes if we do start Wayne, he used up so much energy that coming to the end of the game he was running out of steam a bit. Asking a player to constantly drop back on Alonso takes a lot of energy. “Of course, Wayne can perfectly play with Robin. The ball against Aston Villa sums it all up. Wayne’s been an excellent player for United over so many years but if you want to see Wayne at his best everything in his world needs to be stable, on and off the pitch. The year we beat Arsenal in the semi-final of the Champions League was the best I’ve seen Wayne: powerful, full of desire and determination, sharp finishing. He was unstoppable. “But we thought, 'let Welbeck take the sting out of the game, and then bring Wayne in, then have the Red Arrows flying forward’. I was just discussing [in the second leg] with the manager that 'this is a good time now to bring Wayne on’ and then there was that stupid incident of Nani. The card was absolutely ridiculous. The manager went down to have a go at the fourth official. He knew 'this is my last season’. I was sitting there, thinking 'hold on a minute, no matter what happens, that card is there. How do we deal with it? We need to kill that width’. “What I was trying to get across was to put one guy in to create a defensive line of five for 10 minutes to re-establish ourselves. We didn’t react properly. I couldn’t get through to him [Ferguson] to get it done. I saw Luka Modric coming on [to change the game for Real]. Mourinho reacted." On his very brief spell at Anzhi: “It was good for my experience and contacts. Obviously the money was good. “There were good players like Willian, a player who can make a difference, a player that people come to the stadium to watch. A good character too. I made United aware of him straight away when things were going belly-up. 'Have a look at him,’ I told them. At the top level you need to refresh at the right time. Like Van Persie with us last year. "We were really lacking that quality, that powerhouse up front, bringing others into play. If he hadn’t come we would not have won the Premier League." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10263639/Manchester-United-v-Chelsea-Rene-Meulensteen-on-his-fantastic-12-years-of-doing-the-best-job-in-the-world-at-Old-Trafford.html |
I seem to be the only United fan not expecting any new additions to our squad. If it happens, fine. But no expectations from me at all. |
