Reno Omokri challenged anyone to debunk his statement that poverty level doubled in Anambra during Peter Obi's tenure as Governor of Anambra state. He offered a prize of Naira equivalent of 10,000 dollars.
A twitter user has debunked the claim by Reno Omokri and Reno has not responded since 2024.
Now notice how Reno Omokri didn't mention poverty level doubled this time around. He is now saying it was a 29.7% increase.
Please how is 53.7%- 41.4 %= 29.7%?
Reno Omokri can't even do simple maths.
Tinubu was governor from 1999-2007. From the NBS report of 2003-04 when Tinubu was still governor, poverty rate in Lagos was 69.4%.
Tinubu gave Lagos a poverty rate of 69.4%. No wonder he's replicating same on national level Don't cry yet, we need the tears in 2027. It's a very hard task defending that fraud from Agulu Poverty rate before Gbajue took over was 41.4%, what's the poverty rate in Lagos before Tinubu took over?.. Politics › 2027: Diri, Senators, Asari-Dokubo, APC Stakeholders Endorse Tinubu by Putindbutt(op): 2:21pm On Jan 07 |
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, under the leadership of Governor Douye Diri, yesterday, endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
At a special stakeholders meeting of the party convened by Diri at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, the Senator representing Bayelsa Central, Dr Konbowei Benson, moved the endorsement motion, which was seconded by a former Speaker of the House of Assembly and former deputy governor, Peremobowei Ebebi.
Chairman of the new caretaker committee of the party, Dr Dennis Otiotio; Senator representing Bayelsa East, Benson Agadaga; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri; Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Sam Ogbuku; Managing Director, Niger Delta Basin Development Authority, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, as well as the ex officio member (South South) of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), Godbless Diriware, were among stakeholders at the well-attended meeting.
It was the first expanded meeting convened by the governor since becoming a member and leader of the party in the state in October 2025.
Diri expressed delight that the Bayelsa APC, as one big family, has resolved to work together to deliver Tinubu for another term.
He underscored the need for members to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, humility and rise above politics of bitterness and divisive tendencies for the sake of peace, development and progress of the state.
Diri also urged members to play by the rules and engage in politics of consultation, stating that those interested in political offices in the next election should shelve their ambitions for now.
He said: “Here we are today in a very big family of the APC. Let me use this opportunity to appreciate the old members of the party for the reception accorded to me and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members who crossed over. It was a welcome like no other.
Also, former Niger Delta militant leader and activist, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has pledged support for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Asari-Dokubo, now a paramount Ruler in Degema Local Council Area of Rivers State, pledged when Wike paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Degema.
Expressing appreciation for the visit, Asari-Dokubo said Wike stood by him during difficult periods of his life, stressing that it was time to reciprocate the gesture.
Recalling his past struggles, he said, “As far back as 1992, I did not imagine I would be what I am today. You are my friend, and whatever is going to happen, I will stand by you to ensure success.”
Earlier, Wike explained that his visit to Degema was part of efforts to sensitise the people of the area on the decision of his political family to support Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, adding that it was also important to pay him a courtesy visit.
Meanwhile, the Rivers Elders Council has also endorsed Tinubu for a second term under the platform of the “Renewed Hope Family,” an initiative championed by Wike.
Chairman of the council, Ferdinand Alabraba, declared the endorsement during Wike’s “thank-you” visit to Akuku-Toru Local Council Area of the state. https://guardian.ng/politics/2027-diri-senators-asari-dokubo-apc-stakeholders-endorse-tinubu/

Politics › Defection Not Betrayal - Shekarau Defends Governor Yusuf, Faults Kwankwaso by Putindbutt(op): 1:50pm On Jan 07 |
Former Kano State governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has dismissed claims that Governor Abba Yusuf would be guilty of betrayal should he defect from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), insisting that political realignments are personal decisions shaped by prevailing circumstances and consultations with followers.
Shekarau, in an interview with an online platform, DCL Hausa, faulted recent remarks by the leader of the NNPP, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, who suggested that Yusuf should relinquish his mandate if he leaves the party.
According to the former governor, such a position contradicts established political precedents, including actions previously taken by Kwankwaso himself while in office.
“I listened to some of my brother Kwankwaso’s remarks. To me, Kwankwaso has either forgotten what happened in the past or he thought people have forgotten,” Shekarau said.
He recalled that Kwankwaso defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during his tenure as Kano State governor without vacating the governorship seat.
“When he was in PDP, he left with the governorship seat to APC. Why didn’t he drop it for PDP? The way he took PDP’s seat to APC is likely the same way Abba will take the NNPP seat to APC,” he added.
Shekarau argued that if such actions are now considered offensive, then the precedent had already been set long ago.
The former governor also revisited events surrounding the formation of the NNPP in Kano, attributing his eventual exit from the party to unresolved disagreements over power-sharing arrangements.
He said that after he and Kwankwaso left the APC for the NNPP, several meetings were held in Abuja and Kano to agree on the sharing of elective positions and appointments among stakeholders.
A committee was subsequently constituted to work out the formula, with Governor Yusuf appointed chairman because he was to secure the governorship ticket.
“Abba spent about three months without delivering the assignment. Suddenly, a list came out and there was no single person from our side except me,” Shekarau said, adding that Kwankwaso openly queried the development in his presence.
According to him, the failure to resolve the matter led him and his supporters to set up a 30-man committee, which eventually recommended their exit from the NNPP.
“I rejected the arrangement because I could not take a senatorial ticket alone while my people got nothing,” he stated.
Shekarau maintained that political decisions, including defection, should not automatically be framed as betrayal, stressing that leaders often act after wide consultations and in what they consider the best interest of their followers.
“In life, one chooses for himself. If you have tangible reasons and the people you are with are okay with it, that is all,” he said.
He concluded that Governor Yusuf should be allowed to make his choice without being demonised, noting that Kwankwaso himself had defected severally — from the PDP to APC, back to PDP, and later to the NNPP.
[b]“If Abba has his own reasons and those around him agree, I don’t see any betrayal here,” Shekarau added. https://leadership.ng/defection-not-betrayal-shekarau-defends-governor-yusuf-faults-kwankwasos-stance/

I will never turn my back against Wike. Wike could be very temperamental and seems to have an aggressive approach but do not forget he's a lawyer who picks his fights wisely. Wike hardly fights on the wrong side. Fubara ran into APC for protection, Wike didn't run to Tinubu for protection, he supported Tinubu from day one when everyone else was hiding. He stood by the President gidigba during the hardest period and pulled the chestnut out of the fire. The issue is that Fubara is a very stubborn man, he surrounds himself with enemies of Wike in Rivers State, those who did nothing for him to become Governor. Many of them sitting down with him to share dinner did not even support him during the election but Wike put his life on the line for him. However, since the peace deal was brokered, Fubara has refused to honor the agreements. How can a Governor refuse to work with the state lawmakers and LG chairmen?, how can you run governance alone?. That's the issue Wike has with Fubara. Wike needs nothing from Fubara, he is the FCT minister, he has his own budget, he doesn't need Fubara to get money. When Fubara refused to pay the 27 lawmakers, Wike was responsible for their welfare. He was also carrying PDP until Makinde destroyed everything. Wike's demands is simple, work with the lawmakers and chairmen, if you don't, you won't get a second term.. simple!. How can you ignore those who worked for your election and you dinning with the enemies of your godfather?. I hope when the President comes back, he would talk to Fubara to honour his own side of the agreement otherwise, his second term is at risk. |

The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, has mocked the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ajibola Basiru, over interference in Rivers State politics.
In a post on his Facebook page, Olayinka said Basiru, who failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Osun State, wants to wade into the political tussle in Rivers State.
According to Olayinka, Wike’s influence will secure more votes for President Bola Tinubu in Osun State than Basiru.
He said, “Someone that wanted an APC Governorship ticket, but couldn’t get it.
“Na him wan come another State come help another person.
“In Osun State, Wike’s influence will still give President Tinubu more votes than Ajibola Basiru.
