I know for the fact that the mans was the the 5th of all food basket before he was elected in 1998. Call me dumb but supply food to 20 millions + home is worth far more than your N20,000 accusations.

The OBJ was indeed on of the richest man in West Africa before 1998. (I did not say he didn't help himself with is position as a president. I can name over 200politician that didn't help the country with their stolen money.)

Nigeria have a population of 130 millions+ .  According to CNN report 93,000 lives in Hoston thereafter making making 2% of the population of the city. In the state penitentiary Nigeria again represent 2 % of total inmate. For fraud charges Nigeria is whopping 23%(CNN report) does that makesaverage Nigerians a fraud?


Assuming there are 1 million Naija living in North America, and they are all fraudulent that is not yest 1% of total p[population of Nigerians. Again I will use CNN report which indicated that 3/4th of Nigerians in the USA are highly educated, what is the statistic of those intergrated into work force of this volume? CNN report do confirmed there are Doctors, lawyers, engineers, accountant, etc. they even show a couple that are both doctors and practicing in Houston henceforth validating the credibility of most Nigerians fraudulent activities.


CNN and their BBC counterpart went on with the "Nigeria are fraudulent" campain without realizing their mistake. Is it fair for a rapist to call a victim wicked? Since our forefathers were enslave 400+ years ago to build the west economy, what did they (the west) do about it up to now?

Is the average Colombians are drug lord?

is the average Muslims are terrorist?

Is the average Americans are liars?

Is the average British are racist?

Is the average Pakistanis are Jihadist?

Those are just the media propaganda ! a nonsense !!! How many people in the west knows about Malawi before the media report about Madonna's child adopotion? How many in the west knows about Namibia before Angelina Jolie and brat Pitt's Daugherty? How many in the west ever have second opinion wrongful accusation of  saddam's WMD's?

When USA spent $250BillionUSD in the first 6 month in Iraq to kill hundred of thousands of innocent citizen in Iraq, where was CNN report? when they did the same in Afghanistan where was CNN report?

Right now, as of last week, USA house of rep. are saying OPEC of which Nigeria is a major player is illegal . Where is the CNN report for Boeing 787 and airbus A380 monopoly with other American merchandise monopoly ?

Nigeria is a country that evenly divided by dedicated Muslims ans Christians. The last time I checked, there is sharia law in the Northern Nigeria, showing their dedication to Islam, are they average fraudulent too?

I read the comments of others naija here saying yes. Are your mother, father, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, cousins, niece, nephew , grandparents are average fraudulent

reading your post from many thread in this forum vividly indicate you just got out from naija. There are many naija that left the country far back as  years ago.  should you asked them they will tell you know place like home. I don't care if you have EU +USA+whatever adopted nationality !!

hmmmmm, last time I checked  Nigeria naira is more than Japanese yen, Italian lira and many yet those are 1000% far more developed and better than naija.  Your GB pounds vs USD is silly( mind you I don't say you are silly, i don't even know you i 'm only referring to your argument).

I have lived in the USA for a while Love the country but hate their foreign policy on world politics because it doesn't benefit  neither me nor my country !

I read the tread with lot of interest.  The whole issue make me sad, some comments are funny while most are facts from both side. About 12 years ago we discussed This issue in New York " why those naija guys in UK are stingy, while naija babes over there are just the opposite" I guess no one can really tell ! You have to go to London to see for yourself! whatever the situations is only God knows. is not like we don't pay tax here( North America). we do have bills to pay too just as much as you guys do in UK. Nethertheless the question to the topic still stand? ( I know there got to be a reason for everything, the studies shows that 90% of UK based naija are just OK to take care of themselves and not others hencefort making others think they are stingy). Other European based naija are somewhat better respond to their fellow naija at home. I don't have to tell you about north American based naija, you no the deal !!!

Please note that there are many naija at home that are far doing better than those in abroad. Stop the "naija at home are beggers talk" A decade ago my brother in-law in naija  gave me $1000UDS when he found out that I wanted to relocate from USA to Canada. I don't even ask him! This was some one I gave nothing but true friendship / in-law relationship to.(his sudden death still piss me off.)

I have a high school friend that calls me every week from naija, Just last week I had to apologized to him for never the one that call him. I made him understand my time management, and gladly appreciate his comprehension on the issue. Trust me, he never ask for anything, he just want to talk about old time and my well being. Now this is a friend.

OTH(on the other hand) The last time I went to Lagos, my very best friend (who I I've help in many occasions to contributed to his uni. ed. when I was still in naija) just ditched me for disouraging him not to rely on his big brother who won visa lottery to USA 2 month earlier for every little thing. up to now i didn't know what i did wrong to him. I gave him the very best of true friendship.

I guess what I M trying to say is although there may be some guys that always seems to call and beg for money but not every old friend in naija do that. There are some that can even help you out financially in respective where you live, however those UK based naija should have the courage to responce to some true friend calls and tell them the way it truly is with them.

I remembered vividly I was told Canada speaks just english and it's a cold country(when I was in school in NY), no one warned me about the strong quebecois Language. My buddies and I relocate from USA about a decade ago to Montreal, QC, they left quickly because of the language issues. I still can't figure out what in the world I'm doing here. Montreal is kind of very cool (if you are not a christain), they party here in summer like no other place in the world !


Oh yeah, the weather is just as the same as in NY for all seasons.

My observations

100% of posters contributed to this thread live/ visit Lagos at one time or the other.
93% currently lives outside Lagos
80% live in Europe/ USA
100% agree the city look bad

How do we solve the "smelling" problem?
Can / should we as a forum member, make an official complain to the government?

I remembered back in NY , my brother suggested to get a hair cut brofe going to school the next day, so I settle for the first babers shop I not I found, , the look on those white dude faces should have been a clear warining but proceeded ahead anyway, dude started with a comb and clippers and mess my hair up so bad it look like I have map of naija on my head, he was trembling and afraid to say anything, I was trembling, couldn't waut to get home!

I became the joke for weeks for my brothers and their 'acatas', i should have known white dude hair are cut differently from blacl folks.
