I have dual citizenship and I choose to live in Nigeria.

What do you say about that Sir?

Most Nigerians that haven't been around much won't understand you but I do. I'm doing exactly what you did and I'm loving it.

I first left Nigeria in 1992 to NY traveled back to naija in 2012. A lot have changed and I couldn't help it but felt sad for myself in many ways because I can't just ignore the fact that those little boys I send $100 here and there have their own house and me "boda obodo oyinbo" have got nothing but all those expensive material things only. LORD! That was the beginning of a new Journey for me. I moved to Calgary and started working 2 jobs + weekend part time when available. After dropping about N200m+ on my project and just got tired of working all those years and need to take a break. I relocated back to naija 2 years ago to enjoy the fruits of my hard labor not knowing Buhari will turn the country to hell. What's the significance of living in a mansion in hell?

The thing is... the quicker you accept that nothing works in Nigeria is the beginning of wisdom!

Of course I can dust off my blue kpali and return back to America any time I want. However, when you own your business and run it with determination plus God's grace in Nigeria is still better than $80,000/year salary in the N. America. The fact is that there is no limit to the growth of your business if you decided to bend the rules in your favor in Nigeria. You can't do this in a sane country like Canada. Moreover, the peace and the joy of putting smiles on other people faces is just priceless.

Yes, there are many regrets but... Naija sweet die!

You see what we are saying, you hv dual citizen and u are not dwelling in Nigeria, how can we be contend in country like Dix? You that hv dual citizen I blv you know your reason for doing that. Many pple want to leave Dix country with different reasons best known to them, how many Europeans are struggling to get Nigeria visa? The country where ur life is at d mercy of hoodlums and bandits, no basic amenities, how many will I say and leave others, oga if dat place u are staying is dat bad come and stay in Nigeria and see the difference, simple undecided

I relocated to Lagos two years ago.

I also pray that may God answers your prayers. Only you know what you want and you deserve for your dream to come to pass.

My Broda why did u leave Nigeria if Dix place was okay 4 you? No mata wat U can't compare U.S.A to Nigeria nal, I ll gladly stay dat area u talking about Dan staying in Dix shit hole sad

One thing I found out about most Nigerians is that they are NEVER contented with anything. Firstly I'm a dual citizen and I have the right to leave and go to any country as I wish without anyone asking me "why?"

I'm not comparing anything, I was just saying you will be surprised that all that glitters are not a gold. Is it too much to say my opinion again?

The so called shit hole you are referring to, is heaven to others, maybe not to you but definitely to the likes of Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga etc. They all have multiple visas and perhaps western countries passport too, yet they decided to live and reside in this heaven that you called shit hole.

Life is like a door. What it shows to face you might not be what it shows others.

Make what is available Comfortable if what's comfortable is not available... Trust me your life will never remain the same again.

You are not bind with the rules of law in Nigeria. That means you can do any foolish thing and get away with it.

Those that are not foolish use the opportunity to bend the rules and make billions of naira. If you know, you know.

MODERN CAPITALISM: You have two cows, you sell one and buy a male. You multiply your cows and you buy those of your neighbors. The latter become your shepherds, you pay them in monkey currencies and they die poor.

AMERICAN SOCIETY: You have two cows, you sell one and you have to make the other one to produce milk like 4 cows. By dint of producing beyond her capacity, she dies. You take a consultant to understand this death.

FRENCH SOCIETY: You have two cows, you go on strike because you want a third.

brother.. Tell him to go do Bsc and write Ican along with it.. Hnd is highly discriminated in the accounting world in Nigeria even with Ican.

Yeah... But I thought Nigerian government came up with a law that deals with the HND discrimination?

I'm not worried about him working in Nigeria. I just want him to maximize his potential in Canada.

Your input is well appreciated. Thanks your sir.

If you can advise him to write ACCA and accept option of Btech in Accounting from Oxford Brooke's University, UK then he may not need to enrol for Bsc again ... He should be able to proceed to Canada for MBA afterwards using his ACCA and Btech as entry requirements because HND doesn't enter MBA oo ... I doubt ! ..

I know for sure HND doesn't enter MSC!

Thank you very much. God bless you.

I'm a Canadian citizen I just want to know how I can help him to get to where he needs to be. I will prefer him to go to Canada to write equipment of the Btech there, rather than in the UK. I'm not sure even if this is possible. I'm not very familiar with nigerian education systems but I wrote my WAEC in Lagos.

Thanks again.

Make enquiries from schools or Canadian studies agencies if it is possible for him to gain admission for MBA in Canada with HND.
If this is not possible, let him do BSc (conversion), it will not take more than two years. He should write any professional exam during his programme (he may or may not become chartered in this 2 years of course), after which he can go to Canada for any programme.

Noted thank you.

He most likely won't work in Nigeria. More importantly, I can't wait for the additional two years again just for the professional cert he won't need in Canada. Thanks again.

Option 1
1.Go for BSc Economics, since you already have HND in Banking and Finance.
2. Write and pass the CFA exam (if you have money) Or sit for the useless ICAN where you will be told to learn a craft/trade during your induction.
3. Prepare to study Economics up to PhD level (if you fail number 2)

*Note*
BSc Economics alone without additional qualifications in Nigeria is useless.
YOU WILL SEE THAT MOST PEOPLE TELLING YOU TO DO BSC IN ECONOMICS ARE ALSO SAYING YOU SHOULD WRITE ICAN. WHY WASTE 4 YEARS STUDYING A COURSE THAT WILL BE USLESS TO YOU.

Option 2
1. Go for BSc Accounting.
2. Write and pass ACCA or CFA (if you have the money)
3. Go for MBA.

-----------------------
Save this on a word file and print it out.

HI, I'm asking this question on behalf of my son. He will finished his HND accounting next year. Should I advise him to write ICAN and skip BSc. or should I tell him to go for MBA in Canada? (I'm not sure if this is possible without a B.sc tho.)

Thanks

It’s a lie for Canada but you UAE it can be true. Canada have unemployment benefits for residents if they are unable to get a job. They have both federal and province unemployment benefits plus they have food bank for people needing free food. You are just lying. Plus you hardly find a gangster in Canada because Canada is a reserve society. Those gangster stuff is mostly USA plus there is low racism in Canada. Either your friend or whoever is just lazy or they are disturbing him from his village to come back to Nigeria. Because there are a lot of jobs in Canada especially if you are in the IT or medical field plus Canada government can give you light loan to start up a business if you have a good proposal.

You're 101% on point.

I don't know people come here to lie as if their lives depend on it.

It's not always the money, standard of living and peace of mind count too.

Why is it that northerners don't move abroad?

For almost 3 decades I live in North America, the only time I ever saw a northerner was in the Nigeria house (Nigerian embassy) on 43rd street in Manhattan, NY. (I can't remember the address again.) in 1996. I saw some Northerner again in London in 2014. Although heard there's one Hausa lady in Scarborough ON., but I've never met her. My guess is there are probably a few northerner that resides outside Nigeria but they are well blended with Yoruba or Igbo that you can't easily identify their tribes.

Smh...

So you think you the only one that have been to Canada or resides there? Hello! Reality you cannot take away. The topic is all over the Internet.

The opportunities in Canada are limited and the "Canadian Experience" factor plays a big role.

When we talking bout the potentials in US, UK, Australia or New Zealand, can you bring Canada to the table?

Or you want to deny Canada is not a wildlife? A country with vast land mass and less than 50 million jostling for limited opportunities.

I am not in the class of people you will be telling you spent 26 years in Canada. And so? Is their a trophy for it!

I'm won't insult you like you just tried to shade me. To God be the glory. We have Google these days.

For others that are reading this. Try as much as possible to do your research before you trust any man that want to limit your prospects and potentials. Google is your friend. BTW the last time I checked, Canada is about 36 millions in population with 50 millions jobs opportunities.

It is always better to try to do at least a little bit of research by yourself on Google and Wikipedia before coming out here to imbibe any fallacies.

To answer your question... Is there any trophy for it?. The answer is yes. It's called the blue passport.

Enough said.

Canada is a shocking world. Hit Quora if you want to make an argument.

The Express entry is a profit making venture that has failed to consider the opportunities within Canada.

Argue with the facts

I don't need to waste my time arguing with you. I've lived 26 years of my life
in Canada. I know lies when I hear one.

I have ability to take 2 people to Canada every year and I was almost tempted by your lies to consider you just to make you eat your words. People just talk about what they don't know here. Damn!

Good day Nairalanders..

I am in dire need of support from people who have travel experience.
When I say travel experience, I mean people who has relocated from Nigeria completely.

I will be 30 next month, single (have always hated the idea of marrying any lady in Nigeria because I have been unlucky with most of them i met as they seem complicated, inconsequential, dishonest and inexposed).

To make this short, I spent a lot of my youth working so hard to save enough money with the mindset to relocate from Nigeria as Nigeria depresses me alot.

I have been able to save nearly 20 million naira, excluding investments running in millions i wish to put on cargo to ship wherever I wish to relocate to.

Now, my problem is finding a suitable location or environment where i can relocate to without stress and problems.

Note that, I do not intend to work for anyone as I have my own skills.

United States, United Kingdom are out of my plans as I have realised their system are not built to favour me or my type of person and seem more like stress and a slavery environment to me.

I applied for Canada visa with hope to get work permit but has been on hold for months as they have been on lockdown since.

Having lived in South Africa before for a short while and felt like home there, I had it as an option but I am at crossroads, if I can have better suggestions from experienced people here.

Also, if anywhere in Europe is advisable (remember I do not wish to work for anyone except part time, in my field or if must require me to get a work visa)

Please I need advice.

Gimme the N20m and I will give you my Canadian passport with all others documents you need. grin tongue grin
