They were in charge of distributing the tithes to the poor widows and children instead some of them were stealing. Let's not use this verse out of context. Plus this is OLD testament. We are under a New covenant.

We are to give offerings joyfully. Pastors are usually paid a set contracted salary.

I read the Scriptures like most everyone. I believe in speaking in tongues through the Holy Spirit. Why? Because it happened to me years ago and have not happened since. I was at a service and we were praisng God. I stood there thanking him for bringing me through my trials. While praising I felt the peacefulness of the holy spirit and my tongue took off on its own with no self control as it spoke in an unfamiliar language. I knew what I was saying and conveying to God but I had no control as my tongue seemed to take off in another language. I was not faking. After the service while riding home my friends said I was speaking in tongues during the praise service. I knew it but wasn't sure whether or not they were able to hear it so I had planned to be quiet about it. I didn't understand why it happened at the time. That was over 30 years ago and although I have felt the holy spirit moving I have never spoken in tongues again. Yes I feel some people fake it in an effort to bolster their "holiness", popularity, and offerings. Some have crept in uawares. Speaking in tongues when one is filled with the holy spirit, is real. If one is truly living in the spirit and not fleshly it's easy to recognize people who are faking it. God gives us the spirit and gift of discernment. We must remember God is a spirit and the only way we can serve him is in spirit and truth.

Some believe the Igbos are a remnant of their tribe. Some practice Kemetic spiritualism. Others identify themselves as Moorish. Contrary to popular belief there were many free Blacks in America during slavery. Mixing between European and African Americans is on the increase thus producing lighter offspring. Too many Christians are using this as a cover for selfishness while pretending to be righteous. The first verse of this scripture does not say Jesus said. It says, IT HAS BEEN SAID(man). The Scriptures clearly states that He said if you divorce your wife you are responsible for making her an adulteress, unless she was already sexually promiscuous in the marriage. And if you marry such a divorced adulteress then you are automatically an adulterer yourself.
You can't use a legal documents to cover up a moral failure and disobeying His word.

You spend more time talking about what you are against, not what you are for.
Pharisee love to spend their time convincing others. If they had to list the actions and issues they are against, the pencil would run out of lead. But turn around and ask them to list what they are for? The pencil would not have to be re-sharpened.

Modern-day Pharisees believe God needs them on His team. They believe God is dependent upon them.

Let me be real with the modern-day Pharisees. If God needs a human being for His church to survive, He is not a God worth serving. Or worshipping. Or following.
You think your salvation is based on your works, not on Jesus.
Modern-day Pharisees believe in their works. That’s why they love James 2:14-26. But they skirt around passages about grace. Oh, yeah. They believe Jesus died on the cross for their sins. But they turn around and mock the cross by trying to earn their salvation.

All Members of your Congregation act just like You. No one is allowed to be different.
Pharisees are exclusive. They pick and choose who enters the group. But Jesus never valued exclusivity. Just look at his chosen twelve. A tax collector (Matthew). A doctor (Luke). Fishermen (Peter and Andrew). A Zealot (Simon). That’s a conglomerate of guys from many different backgrounds.

So, look around at your group? Is it essentially a collection of men and women cut from the same mold?
For modern-day Pharisees, Christian living is not so much about transforming into the image of God. It is more about living up to the standard of God. And no one can live up to God’s standard. Except Jesus.

This is a Pharisee trademark. Before non-Christians can be considered “part of the group,” they must conform to a certain lifestyle. Stop all of the cursing and drinking. And stop doing all the stuff “bad people” do.

Once potential followers “fix their lives,” modern-day Pharisees gladly welcome these people into their family. Just don’t revert back to “sinning” again. Membership in the group is always conditional.

Instead of meeting people where they are, modern-day Pharisees force people to come up to their level. And until these people live up to the standard, they will be on the outside looking in.

You read the Scriptures to substantiate your convictions, not to be shaped into God’s image.
During the time of Jesus, no one knew more Scripture than the Pharisees. They studied the Scriptures relentlessly.

Modern-day Pharisees do the same. But they turn around and use the knowledge to convince others why they are wrong. The Bible is their personal weapon. Modern-day Pharisees use it to throw rocks at all the misguided, evil sinners in the world.

To modern-day Pharisees, the Scriptures are not a means to grow into the image of God. It is a means to convince the world of fallacies and misguided theology.

JW don't celebrate Christmas but will never turn down those Christmas bonuses in their paychecks. JW is not scriptural and the cult was formed in 1870 no blacks allowed for years. Christianity is biblical and mentioned at Antioch. Their Bible NWT has been revised for their own beliefs. I feel so sorry for the people who are blindly misled by this cult. I tried to warn a friend who had been raised as a Baptist about joining this cult. Despite warnings she joined and eventually lost her mind to schizophrenia, felt bugs crawling on her, felt someone was stalking her and breaking out in rashes. She wasn't allowed to go to her mother's or siblings funeral service when they died and spoke ill of them for being lost Baptist. She became obsessed with her children joining and went into a deep depression when they joined the Baptist church and denounced JW warning her to leave the organization. When she lost her mind, Not one JW visited her in the hospital despite her devotion to this cult and only friends from other Christian denominations were there. Five years she was in a nursing home without one visit from the Kingdom hall or fellow JW yet she held on to JW false doctrine. When she died no JW there for service and the Kingdom Hall offered no service despite her devotion. When JW knock on my door I don't answer. If they leave a watchtower I throw it in the trash.
