My question is, what has Hamas gained by holding down these hostages, causing the death of several thousand and wanton destruction of the city, and at the end of the day releasing the balance of hostages after much destruction has been done?

I sometimes do not understand the way some people reason. Anyway, kudos to Trump for using his wisdom and capacity to get the hostages released which has been Israel's condition for peace, something Biden lacked the balls to achieve.
