(D) RECOMMENDATIONS TO NIGERIA'S MILITARY AND DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS:

(1) Persuade the federal government on the need for deep, comprehensive and sustained military reform, including by providing relevant assistance, the flow of which is dependent on genuine steps and benchmarked progress.

(2) Support the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) by offering training, equipment and other aid that boosts their capacity to monitor, investigate and prosecute corruption and human rights abuse in the defence sector more effectively.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by QuadrilAyinde(m): 3:36am On Jul 09, 2020
(C) RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE DEFENCE MINISTRY AND THE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS

(1) Improve administrative capacity, including by organising more training for civilian staff in such areas as procurement management, project monitoring and evaluation and operation of payroll systems, as well as accounting and auditing.

(2) Improve training in military institutions by ensuring adequate instructors, more relevant modules and more modern equipment.

(3) Improve equipment and logistics by conducting more frequent and intensive equipment audits, ensuring better maintenance of existing assets and encouraging private companies to respond to basic procurement needs
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by QuadrilAyinde(m): 3:34am On Jul 09, 2020
(B) RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY:

CARRY OUT APPROPRIATION AND OVERSIGHT RESPONSIBILITIES MORE EFFECTIVELY BY:

(1) Improving the expertise of members and committee staff on security matters, through better training and exchanges with similar committees in the parliaments of more developed democracies;

(2) Scrutinising military leadership nominees more thoroughly to ensure that only competent officers are appointed to head the defence ministry and the services;

(3) Organising public and expert hearings on formulation of a comprehensive military reform program, including a new, more relevant national defence policy; and

(4) Conducting oversight visits to military establishments more diligently to add value to the defence establishment as a whole and administration of the armed forces in particular.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO REFORM THE MILITARY

(A) TO THE PRESIDENCY AND THE EXECUTIVES AT LARGE:

(1) COMMIT TO FORMULATE AND IMPLEMENT COMPREHENSIVE DEFENCE SECTOR REFORM WHICH WOULD INCLUDE:

(a) Initiating public and expert dialogues to analyse and agree on the security and defence challenges and lead to initiation of a comprehensive defence sector reform program that clearly identifies those challenges;

(b) Developing a new defence and security policy and structure to address them; and

(c) Improving leadership, oversight, administration and accountability across the entire defence sector

(2) ESTABLISH AN ARMED FORCES CAPACITY MONITORING AND EVALUATION UNIT UNDER THE PRESIDENT'S DIRECT SUPERVISION.

(3) IMPROVE FUNDING OF THE MILITARY BY:

(a) Ensuring that at least 80 per cent of all money from participation in peacekeeping operations is invested in the armed forces;

(b) Channelling to the defence budget all funds previously paid to former Niger Delta militant leaders for so-called pipeline security arrangements.

(4) IMPROVE LOCAL PRODUCTION OF BASIC MILITARY ITEMS, PARTICULARLY BY CREATING AN INVESTOR-FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT AND ENCOURAGING PRIVATE SECTOR INVESTMENT IN DEFENCE-RELATED INDUSTRIES, WHILE WINDING DOWN THE DEFENCE INDUSTRIES CORPORATION OF NIGERIA (DICON), WHICH HAS PROVEN TO BE A WHITE ELEPHANT.

(5) CURB CORRUPTION AND IMPROVE ACCOUNTABILITY BY PROBING ALL FORMER MAJOR DEFENCE CONTRACTS, SANCTIONING INDICTED OFFICIALS AND GIVING THE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION (EFCC) A STRONGER MANDATE TO INVESTIGATE CORRUPTION IN THE DEFENCE SECTOR.

(6) STRENGTHEN, THROUGH A STRONGER MANDATE AND BETTER RESOURCING, THE CAPACITY OF THE NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION (NHRC) TO INVESTIGATE AND REPORT VIOLATIONS BY MILITARY UNITS AND PERSONNEL.

@Jelraj

(1) There is 95% guarantee that U will be posted to either Armoured, Infantry or Artillery after ur SSC Passing Out Parade... Course of Study No Matter at all in as much as Nah SSC u opt in for, that's Y it's generally referred to as THE MULTITUDE CADRE
(2) In my Opinion, from what LtChisom has just explained few minutes ago, it's obvious that FOR DSSC, U JUST HAVE TO TRY ALL UR POSSIBLE BEST TO FALL IN THE 1ST CAGE DURING THE RACE, NO ISSUES WITH OBSTACLE CROSSING + OTHER PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES ALONGSIDE EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE DURING BOARD INTERVIEW... With That, there shouldn't be any Course of Worry as per the DSSC... I think Getting Shortlisted is Rather the Hardest Part of bn successful as a DSSC Applicant due to the Lower number they do shortlist for their Screening

LtChisom:
(1) I didn't score well in race as I made the 3rd cage, guyman can't come and kill himself.

(2) For the pressup and situps, most of us were helped

(3) though i failed the current affairs question of how many geopolitical regions that is in Nigeria, out of tension I couldn't guess right.

In all, I feel it is not my time.
Thanks for the honest response... I don grab wetin I wan know... Las Las We go ALL dey Alright... Seriously I think this is the Part some people do Ommit when narrating their experience of Not making the Final Shortlist after Scaling through Medicals, thus making the whole Parole appear 100% Political

It actually ends in premium tears.
Ssc 44... I was evicted on medicals cos of umblical hernia
Dssc 25... crossed medicals but didn't make final list.
?? ... Next one may be my time but am not forcing it.
Bossman, I go like ask some questions oo... Since U were Lucky to scale through the Almighty Medicals, HOW WELL CAN U SCORE YOUR PERFORMANCES IN THE RACE, OBSTACLE CROSSING AND THE SELECTION BOARD INTERVIEW?? Do U think You are Being LeftOut Unjustly or U weren't too surprised based on ur Performance??

no medicals. Just screening headed by officers from outside the country. Mostly it's base on doing something base on a specific given tym. Like carrying cement and running with it to the finish line in some given tym.
The question Is how will those who will Participate in the Screening Comoetition be selected??

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by QuadrilAyinde(m): 8:09pm On Jul 06, 2020
But from what I'm able to obtain online (DailyTrust Article):

(1) It’s tricky to report Special Forces operations, owing to a tradition worldwide which sees such units’ activities cloaked in necessary secrecy. Some experts say it is that cloak of mystery, however, which makes them Efficient.

(2) At the 2018 COAS Conference in Maiduguri, Lt. Gen. Buratai told the Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF) that THEY ARE SELECTED SPECIALLY AND DEPLOYED TO THE NORTH-EAST, AFTER SPECIAL TRAINING, AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE CALLED ‘SPECIAL FORCES’. He added: “IF THERE WILL BE ANY CHALLENGE IN TERMS OF CAPACITY, I BELIEVE YOU WILL FILL THAT GAP, AND YOU HAVE ALL IT TAKES."

So from these quotes above, I will like to probably assume that THE SELECTION IS BEING DONE BASED ON ONES PERSONAL ACTIVENESS AND DOGGEDNESS AS DOCUMENTED BY THE VARIOUS OGAS AT THE TOPS OBSERVATION AND NOMINATION ACROSS THE UNITS AND CORPS

Oga calm down, make I reply ur rant... There is ntn actually bad in a Prospective Applicant Expressing his or her mind as regards how he or she feels he can contribute his or her quota to the Stability and Development of the Organisation he or she wishes to Join SOON... In my own view, I see all the Expression of desires and Interests as a means of Mental Preparation towards giving a Meanigful Answer when asked WHY DO U WANT TO JOIN THE NIGERIAN ARMY during the Screening Exercise...

And point of Correction Old Man, No one talked about Going into Bullet proof research coz that's already been produced by DICON and PROFORCE... The Subject of Thought is THE POSSIBILITY OF THE NIGERIAN ARMY PRODUCING A QUALITY BATTLE TANK FROM AVAILABLE LOCAL MATERIALS WITHOUT NECESSARILY IMPORTING FROM ADVANCED COUNTRIES..... This is Actually My Line of Thought Coz IT IS AN AREA YET TO BE TOUCHED OR RATHER YET TO YIELD AN OUTPUT YET

Brother, 14.20 billion Naira was the Total amount Earmarked for the Capital Expenditure from the Total 438.23 billion budgeted for the Nigerian Army Last year... Are We now saying 14.20 billion is ABRUPTLY USELESS in securing Battle Equipment and Machineries for the Army??.... Just like blueelf have earlier said, What About Carrying out a Thorough Audit on how the Army have spent the Allocated 14.20 billion Naira
In the like manner, 408.40 billion Naira that was Equally earmarked for personnel cost (Salaries, Wages, Commission etc etc) sef get big question Mark coz How we wan take sure sey THE KILLED-IN-ACTION OFFICERS AND SOLDIERS SALARIES AREN'T BEING SIPHONED BY THE HIGHER AUTHORITIES......

And SirUgo4U, as for ur Claim that NOT ALL THE QUOTED FIGURE IN THE BUDGET WAS APPROVED, I Seriously doubt that coz I'm Not Sure THERE WAS/HAS BEEN ANY FORM OF OUTCRY BY THE ARMY on Social Media....

The NA don't have the financial muscle to fund the establishment of a fully functional combat aviation unit, the day politicians deem it fit to prioritize our defence budget that's the day things will start to change for good, most of our defence budget e.g 2019 went on recurrent expenditure just a fraction is for capital projects and acquisition of equipments, even at that not all was approved.

It has been said that Mraps and helicopter gunships should be the standard for transporting troops into the front lines so that ambushes cab reduce
Funny Enough, report has already declared that 9ja Armed Forces get Enough MRAPs as per its Custom Mass Production by PROFORCE In Ogun state and susbsequent Patronage by the 9ja Army... But the question is DOES THE WHOLE PRODUCTION PROCESS CONFORM TO THE ISO9001 STANDARD?? Seriously this country Ehnn, We s have a long way to go

And as for the Helicopter Gunships transporting Soldiers, Former 7 Division GOC once said it's presence in the battlefield will easily giveaway the Troops Location to the Enemy coz of its Loud Noise and thus The Reason why there has been Inadequate Supply of Welfare Packages to the Gallant Men in the Warzone...
