I said it is the best within its class e.g AR15, Tavor21, M16 etc
I understand Sir, I get ur point already... But I'm not convinced it's better than M16... As far as I'm concerned, it's a Win-Win comparative analysis

It's the best weapon in its class.
Civilian General Sir, I refuse to Agree with this 100%... It's no argument that it's one of the 2 most Popular Assault Rifle in the World and ONE OF THE BEST...

As far as I'm Concerned, its disadvantages Aren't Forgivable.....
(1) Its Accuracy is very poor and highly unsatisfactory at a Distance more than 400m
(2) It's heavy.. Has an approximate weight of 4.8kg with a Loaded 30-round Magazine
(3) Its shooting Velocity ain't that spectacular (Approximately 700m/s)... M16 for example has a value of 900m/s

WHICH AMONG THE ADVANCED COUNTRIES IS USING AK-47 AS THE OFFICIAL ASSAULT RIFLE FOR THEIR ARMED FORCES?? Even Russia sef where it originates from, their soldiers currently carry the AK-74M assault rifle.

That's Y I keep saying it, RESEARCH WILL FOREVER BE THE BEDROCK OF ANY FORM OF ADVANCEMENT, BE IT TECH-WISE, ADMINISTRATIVE OR LEADERSHIP-WISE.. At least for him to have bn Successful with the 10m distance limit, Definitely in a Matter of Some time Now, Necessary Modifications will be Introduced to Further Increase the Allowable Distance

Its quite Pathetic that As far as the Nigerian Army is concerned, they Now see EZUGWU MRAP as One special Unique Invention, something that both ARA AND ARA-2 MRAP (BUILT TO MEET GLOBAL ANTI-BALLISTIC MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS STANDARD WITH INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION) IS ALREADY BEEN PRODUCED IN NUMBERS BY PROFORCE AND ALREADY IN USE BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY SINCE 2018-2019. Now this is my question::

WHAT ARE THE SPECIFICATION SUPERIORITY EZUGWU MRAP HAS OVER ARA-2 MRAP ALREADY BEEN PRODUCED IN NUMBERS BY PROFORCE TO QUALIFY ITS PRODUCTION AS A SPECIAL ONE??

This is One Area where I Salute Research Enthusiasts, U CAN'T just Present ANYTHING for them and Not Receive heart-shattering Criticism... ALL IS WELL

Also, the Mseries are very expensive and harder to maintain...you need special oils to even clean them unlike the AK 47

The AK-47 also has a longer range...only disadvantage is the recoil, so it isn't as accurate as the M series weapons
(1) THE AK-47 IS MORE USER FRIENDLY, EASIER TO MAINTAIN AND DOESN'T JAM

The AK-47 is an easily operated rifle and it is perfectly suitable for poorly trained or untrained recruits.

The M16 is a different story. It’s design and technology make M-16 a more modern and more advanced weapon than AK-47 but works best in the hands of a well-trained soldier, not really easy to use and maintain as AK-47 and therefore it’s not suitable for recruits and poorly trained soldiers.

(2) THE M16 HAS A DECISIVE ADVANTAGE IN THE MAXIMUM EFFECTIVENESS RANGE.

The AK-47 assault rifle is chambered in 7.62 mm caliber. Its maximum effective range is limited up to 400 meters. In fact, this weapon is not really meant to shoot at a range of more than 200 meters.  Beyond that, it will hardly hit anything.

The M16 weighs half as much with the full magazine than the AK-47. It is because the rifle is chambered with a slimmer 5.56 mm bullet. This bullet travels really fast. As a result, the M16 is more has a longer range and is more accurate than AK-47. Because of that, the M16 has a maximum effective range of 400-500 meters.

(3) THE M16 HAS AN ADVANTAGE IN CALIBER WHICH MAKES IT A MORE ACCURATE WEAPON, BOTH IN SEMI-AUTO AND FULL-AUTO MODE.

When it comes to accuracy, the M16 is a much more accurate weapon than the AK-47. M16 has less recoil and it is a much smoother-operating weapon which means it can be easier controlled during full-auto fire. The recoil of the M16 moves the weapon very little due to its internal design and the 5.56 mm caliber. Also, its buttstock is lined up with the barrel. This feature additionally reduces the muzzle climb.

On the other hand, the AK-47 is much heavier and poorly balanced with a more powerful cartridge. Because of its internal mechanism, the AK-47 recoil is slightly out of the center. Furthermore, internal mechanisms of the AK-47 assault rifle are essentially big chunks of metal that move violently after each shot. Also, this weapon has a traditional position of the buttstock (depends on version, fixed or foldable buttstock). All of these features combined cause muzzle climb after each shot. It makes the AK-47 very inaccurate during full-auto fire.

(4) THE AK-47 IS SUPERIOR IN TERMS OF PENETRATION.

The AK-47 uses a 7.62mm round with a heavier bullet. It’s a bullet that is slower and less accurate. But its share power is indisputable. This weapon is superior in terms of penetration and stopping power.

On the other hand, the M16 uses a lighter 5.56 mm round. It has a slimmer bullet that travels faster. However, the punch of the M16 is not that strong, but as it is mentioned it is faster, more accurate and with better range.

(5) THE M16 IS A LIGHTER WEAPON.

As the US Military required a lightweight weapon, the low weight of the M16 was the driving emphasis of the whole design. The M16 benefits from lightweight materials in its construction. Also, it uses lighter rounds. As a result, the M16 can weigh around 30% less than the AK-47. It is more comfortable to carry around and the shooter can carry more of its ammunition. So lighter weapon is better, especially if you are the guy that has to carry it. It is estimated that if a user of AK-47 carries on 6 mags, the operator with M16 can have 10 mags.

On the other hand, the AK-47 uses little weight saving methods.

(6) THE AK-47 IS A MORE DURABLE WEAPON

The AK-47 is an enduring weapon with a robust design. It can take any misuses that soldier can throw at it. If the battle moves into hand-to-hand combat you can really smack your enemy with the AK-47s buttstock.

On the other hand, a fiberglass buttstock of the M16 is not durable as a wooden buttstock of the AK-47. So low overall weight of the weapon was a trade-off at this point.

(7) THE AK-47 IS A MORE RELIABLE WEAPON

The AK-47 has a malfunction rate of 1 per 1 000 rounds fired.

The M16 has a malfunction rate of 2 per 1 000 rounds fired.

(cool THE M16 IS SUPERIOR IN TERMS OF ERGONOMICS.

It seems that ergonomics was the last thing that bothered the developer of the AK-47. This weapon is poorly balanced. Also, its controls are not well thought-off and are stiff to operate. It takes more time to change the magazine on the AK-47 than on the M16.

On the other hand, the M16 was intended with ergonomics in mind. All of its controls are well designed, well-positioned and easily used. Also, it has a built-in carrying handle on the top making it easier to carry. The M16 is considered one of the most ergonomic weapons in the world. In terms of ergonomics, it is superior to the AK-47 in most respects.

(9) THE M16 HAS BETTER SIGHTS AND BETTER ACCURACY.

From the design of the sights, it is clear that the M16 was designed to be more accurate from the very start. The American assault rifle has a little ‘peep’ sight on the back that can be flipped for ‘short’ or ‘long’ range. The front post sight is called ‘bunny ears’. Similar sights are used by Americans since World War II.

Sights of the AK-47 are very crude. It is clearly not as good as that of the M16. It has an adjustable notch on the back that can be set to a range of up to 800 meters. However, it is more of a psychological boost for untrained recruits. In reality, the maximum range of effective fire is limited to 300-400 meters. Beyond that, it will hardly hit anything.

(10) THE AK-47 IS THE MUCH CHEAPER RIFLE TO BUILT THAN THE M16.

Although many variants are available for both the rifles, when comparing the base models, the AK-47 is significantly cheaper than M16. The government price of the AK-47 can range from $150 to $200, depending on manufacturer and contract.

The government price of the M16 was $673 per new unit as of the U.S. Army’s 2012 contract.

OVERALL.....

TO SUM IT UP, BOTH M16 AND AK-47 HAVE THEIR OWN STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. BOTH OF THESE WEAPONS CONTINUE TO DEMONSTRATE THEIR EFFECTIVENESS. AND BOTH OF THESE WEAPONS REMAIN IN DEMAND. THE M-16 HAS TECHNICAL SUPERIORITY IN 3 KEY AREAS, INCLUDING RANGE, ACCURACY, AND WEIGHT.

THE AK-47 HAS A REMARKABLE ADVANTAGE OF SIMPLE AND EASY TO MAINTAIN CONSTRUCTION. SO, I GUESS IT IS A NO-WIN SITUATION. IT DEPENDS ON THE USER, WHAT HE WILL CHOOSE.

I saw different designs all of them are made from Kevlar material, I even saw a design that was made of Kevlar, they settle for Kevlar and other associated materials since they are also effective in stopping fire arms.
.
MOST ANTI-BALLISTIC MATERIALS used in bullet-proof jackets or explosion-proof blankets are MADE OF KEVLAR, TWARON or DYNEEMA FIBERS, which stop bullets from penetrating the surface by SPREADING AND ABSORBING THE IMPACT OF THE BULLET'S FORCE. These products were a significant step forward, but often still result in the target suffering from BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA, SEVERE BRUISING or DAMAGE TO VITAL ORGANS. THIS IS BECAUSE THE FORCE FROM THE BULLET REACHES THE WEARER EVEN WHEN THE BULLET ITSELF IS STOPPED.

AND AS FOR KEVLAR::

(1) Despite being such a Tough Material, it gets broken down and Damaged when exposed to sun having High content of UV Rays and We All know that The Northern Nigeria is a Perfect Example in this Scenario.

(2) Kevlar by itself only makes soft body armor. Other materials such as steel, ceramic and Polyethylene are used to create stronger armor plates that reinforce it.

(3) Kevlar fibers quickly absorb moisture. Although Kevlar is strong and tensile, its ability to cope with compression is fairly poor....

(4) KEVLAR IS COSTLY TO PRODUCE AS WELL.....

ABC-Matrix (A Cheap and Highly dependable Material) that is just as tough as Kevlar is the MOST PREFERRED MATERIAL OF CHOICE the World is turning to NOW. The material, which is waterproof and flame retardant, can withstand 3,000 rounds of fire from an AK-47 rifle.

SIR UGO4U, CAN U NOW SEE WHY KEVLAR ISN'T ACRUALLY THE BEST IDEAL MATERIAL FOR BODY ARMOUR FOR OUR TROOPS AND THIS IS WHERE MY QUESTIONING THE SERIOUSBESS OF SON comes in.....

The army won't issue a substandard bullet proof vest to their personnel, infact before it leaves the factory it's usually subjected to varying degrees of test and SON have to give their approval before it can used.
I have been opportuned to visit DICON's factory in Kaduna, the guys there are thorough bred professionals made up of ex-servicemen, servicemen and civilians. I saw different designs all of them are made from Kevlar material, I even saw a design that was made of Kevlar, it kind of had a compartment in the chest and ribs region to place titanium sheet. Even a .50cal can't penetrate titanium sheet, because titanium is very expensive that design is not produced enmass, they settle for Kevlar and other associated materials since they are also effective in stopping fire arms.
There is a video on YouTube where the army were testing their ballistic vests and it performed well.
Thanks for the Enlightenment Sir... During my Undergraduate days, we were Made to believe that Any Engineering Manufacturing Industry that wants to Have International Value must be fully approved by ISO... But Since DICON nah FG parole, so such recommendation might be Easily Waved and Ignored..

My initial postulation about them Was coz NO WHERE on their Official Website Was it Written that THEY HAVE ISO CERTIFICATION and As an Engineering Graduate, I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO UNDERMINE AND QUESTION WHATEVER THEY SEEM TO BE PRODUCING THERE, That's Just the Engineering Ethics in the Academics... USE OF UNSUSPICIOUS ANIMALS FOR LANDMINE DETECTION: AFRICAN GIANT POUCHED RATS AS A RELIABLE CANDIDATE

(1) Trained dogs, while commonly used, are EXPENSIVE AND TOUGH TO TRANSPORT. These critters are LIGHT ENOUGH TO WALK OVER THE MINES WITHOUT SETTING THEM OFF, AND USE THEIR NOSES TO FIND THE EXPLOSIVES QUICKLY. They've Also Got an EXTRAORDINARY SENSE OF SMELL

(2) Finding these hidden explosives is challenging and dangerous: PEOPLE WITH METAL DETECTORS NOT ONLY RISK THEIR LIVES, THEY WORK SLOWLY, STOPPING TO INVESTIGATE EVERY SUSPICIOUS PING.

One African Giant Pouched Rat can search over 2000 square feet (200 square meters) in 20 minutes, an area that could take a human up to four days... Making reference to A 2018 LANDMINE MONITOR REPORT, THESE FURRY SUPER-SNIFFERS HAVE HELPED CLEAR 13,200 MINES FROM MINEFIELDS IN TANZANIA, MOZAMBIQUE, ANGOLA, AND, most RECENTLY , in CAMBODIA.
