Oh, didn't realise you were talking about oz, a colleague/classmate travelled to oz, I knw she wrote IELTs but I didn't ask her the remaining details. We are not so close and she didn't seem to want to discuss the process.

My school sent the transcripts themselves not NMC, then I sent my certs and WES said they sent NMC the certs for verification (of course, its only NMC that can verify my certs and licence since they were the one that issued them and not school). So I am just wondering if they have used some other means to do the verification, if not, what else could be a reason for my WES status to change from waiting for verification to review in progress? Really, I am just wondering, watching, waiting and hopeful while working on other things to.

So how did u pay WES?

Yea. I know I can start the registration process from here that's why I am planning to write both the academic and general version of IELTS, I can then move to the next step after that.

I paid for wes online with a GT master card.

As for NMC, I called and they said their charge is N8,750. They said they will contact me with details of how to make the payment and I am yet to hear from them.

But then, my wes status changed from waiting for verification from institution to review in progress so I don't know if they have used somne other means to do the verification without contacting me.

I emailed wes about 2-3days ago, got an automated response and another donotreply response. Waiting for a response that addressed the issues I raised in my mail.

They should...you sent d certs and council sent their transcripts, right. I know a woman that will soon start this process but she has B.SNc from National Open University of Nigeria. That is 21 for sure. She called me today...I told her Australian's is harder with visa cash, no points from work when u studied, their IELTS' point allocation and license.


I hope u r only required to get licensed when in Canada...d issue for her is getting cash that reflects her family of 6. OZ's subclass 189 does not require showing cash availability.

Yea. School sent transcripts, then I sent certs and licence. They sent a mail to say they have forwarded the certs to NMC for verification and I think they should be rounding up with all of that by now cos it's really taken a long time.

I guess all I'll need to practise in canada is to get registered with their own board which is usually not such a big issue. For Us you write their board exams and in Uk, you just for a 3-6month over seas nursing program plus write the academic version of IELTS and score a minimum of 7 in all the parts. I'm sure canada's won't be so different.

As for IELTS, here's the result R-6, W-6.5,S-7.5,L-6 (that's about 19points from what I gathered, right?)

Haven't come across anyone that accessed RN and RM cert, that would have given me an idea of what to expect

My dear eh, no be small calculating very well. That's actually part of the reasons I am delaying registering for another IELTS as I am waiting to hear from wes and see what my certificate was evaluated as.

Meanwhile, see what I calculated. Help me cross check and see if its possible for this to earn me the required points

Age- 12 less than 35
Work experience -45months
Education- 19-21 ( really don't know what my qualifications will be evaluated as)

I am not sure you need to write nclex. Its not part of the requirement for FSWP but that doesn't mean you will be able to practise in canada with your licence here as you are only licenced to practise in Nigeria. Canada has it own board responsible for registration of nurses. When we get there, we will worry about that.

Meanwhile, I am looking at writing both the general and acadmic version of IELTS cos the academic version is needed for registration with canadian board

Chichii, I am a nurse and like Solomonwise said, the process is same. i have written IELTS and have sent my credentials to wes for evaluation, waiting for their response. Reference letters for past work experience wont be difficult to get as i've had good working relationships with all my previous employers.

So, go on register for IELTS, approach wes for evaluation of your credentials

Meanwhile, how far with your sunderland application? i have an offer from both sunderland and bedfordshire for september, still working on how to make it possible.

Lol, well, i am a nurse, have written IELTS and had 6 and above ( though i am planning to write another one because i really need that 24points to be able to earn 67points), have sent my documents to wes for evaluation and waiting for their response, so dont say we seem okay here. One person is not enough to draw conclusion. Though, i do have colleagues that i introduced to this but they just see the process as one mighty task so i minded my business

Meritl: If you are sure that your institution has sent a reply back to WES, and your status changed to "review in progress", it means they are doing a final review after which, they'll post your verification to you. The final ECA report could be sent via UPS between 3-5 days. Quite frustrating but surely.

Well, I don't know if my institution has replied wes or not. I contacted them severally and they said they didn't get/havent gotten anything from wes, that was when I decided to explore the option of using courier service for the verification.

Let me wait and see if wes will contact me sooon

Ok, guys, I nEed you people to help me understand this my wes situation.

When I first sent my documents, my status read ...Documents recieved- review in progress.

Later, the status changed to -waiting for verfication from institution (they sent me a mail to notify me of this).

I just checked today and the status now reads ...documents recieved- review in progress.(They didn't send me a mail)

What does this mean? Does it me they've gotten verification from my institution? Does it mean my evaluation is almost done?

This evaluation has taken so long. I've sent mail to ask for directives to use courier service to do the verification from institution and I haven't gotten any response

I am kinda more concerned about your wife. Her bp needs to be monitored closely and chances that she'll have a C/S has increased with this elevation in Bp. I hope you have enough money saved should she need a C/S.

1.U have to be a registered nurse in TEXAS.there are some international exams for nurses that ease their quest for licensure in the US. U need to find out if Texas accepts such exams and do it. I think u can do d exam in abuja.pls google it
2.U need to do the SATs and score well. Also TOEFL. U shd know that these criteria SEEMS to be for students applying from texas.requirements for international applicants mayb slightly different.
3.Send ur transcripts and let them determine if u did enough course work.

Yea, I told them I'm an international student. They did mention something about completing some courses in government, Economics and History, dont also know how I'm gonna do that since I'm here in Naija. Besides, I already did Economics in sec school but didnt do government cos I was science inclined. About the history, I think it should be US history. I will google the exams as u said. Thanks.
