radeke2017: Hi everyone - I wanted to share that I was able to fly to the US and then Canada without any issues. I already had a visit visa to the US so I had that advantage, I stayed for a day and travelled to Canada by air and I didn’t have any issues. Sharing this for anybody that might have a US visa and COPR that might be interested in this long journey alternative
Thank God you had a smooth landing.
If you don't mind, please how recent did you travel?
Please could you share what airlines you used and what airports (from Nigeria to US, US to Canada) you flew out from/in to.
What was the border experience when leaving US and landing Canada especially since there's entry restrictions in place?
This will be very helpful for some here whose CoPR is near the end and are yet to land. Thanks.

Looooong Silence and No update on my profile
Found out my VO was Accra after 5months+ when I emailed IRCC/CIC (March 2020)
1st GCMS Note 9th July 2020 2nd GCMS Note 12th November 2020 Medical Extension Update 24th November 2020 Review of Additional Document 10th December 2020 Request for Document (Passport and Photograph) 8th January 2021 Final Decision/PPR/Counterfoil Issue 1st February 2021
Gist (Pardon the grammar)
I have been a silent reader on this thread since somewhere in part 9, so I thought to share my experience.
I have always wanted to live abroad, I got used to UK lifestyle after my masters and I was hoping to stay back afterwards. But........ A few people told me about this Canada immigration but I didn’t take it serious until sometime around mid 2019, I decided it was time. Then I started to research and take action.
WES: This was seamless took about 4 weeks, I have Master’s degree from UK university. IELTS: Wrote in July, and aced it in one trial (L8.5 R8 W7 S8) PCC UK: Was also straight forward, and a little more expensive than Nigeria. Got it in about 2 weeks. PCC Nigeria: It was also easy but dramatic, paid 10k for it.
Then I created an EE profile and four days later I got ITA with the next draw. Cut off was 454 and I was at 478. I proceeded to do my medicals and gather all my documents.
After about a month plus from getting ITA, I submitted my application.
SILENCE
At this time, I didn’t know much about VOs then on the thread, I started reading/hearing of Accra. Five (5) months into an application that is supposed to normally last 6months, still no update + COVID-19. Then I sent a few web forms to inquire about my VO, lo and behold.... It was ACCRA. Chai, I had mixed feelings oooo.
Applied for 1st GCMS note in July through someone in Canada, it came back after a month; eligibility and criminality passed which was not shown in my profile. MEP was the only thing that passed from the initial period of application. Officers assessments also showed everything was good.
SILENCE
Ordered for 2nd GCMS note in second week of November.
Fast forward to 1year+ AOR, I got first update which was that my medical was extended and two weeks later, Additional document was been reviewed according to my profile. I was hoping for a Christmas Miracle at this time but instead, I got a New Year gift; Email that my application is approved YAY!! But they added that I may not be allowed to travel now due to COVID-19. Anyway, I was asked to send in my passport photo and Int’l PP. Same day I got email that my application had been approved was same day the 2nd GCMS note returned. But it didn’t matter because I had gotten a better NOTE (Lol) and I’ll add also that nothing was different from the 1st and 2nd GCMS notes or maybe I didn’t read it well because at this time, I didn’t care about the notes.
Counterfoil was issued on the 1st of February and all the remaining section on my profile were subsequently passed that same day. Security section passed with a date sometime in May 2020 (just wondering why it wasn’t update when it was actually passed).
I saw on this thread someone suggested that London VFS will be better since Accra is always slow. Though someone argued that because of Coronavirus surge in England, it wasn’t the best idea. I went ahead to contact VFS and they were prompt in replying. It gave me hope that at least they were still in operation/business. So, I trusted God and I went ahead to DHL to have my documents sent to London VFS. It got to them in 2 days and they dispatched to IRCC same day they received it. Then I got counterfoil update in about two weeks after my documents reached IRCC. My PP was then sent back to VFS and I was notified. So, I had to arrange for pickup and I wrote a consent letter as well. It took about 6 days for PP to be returned to me because VFS designates 2 days for courier pick up to be done and also shipment fell around the weekend (turnaround time for my COPR and PP from London VFS+IRCC was 3weeks).
IT ENDED IN PRAISE!!! THANK YOU JESUS!
For all those still waiting......Hang in there, your miracle is coming, I believe God will not leave us alone in this journey, Amen. Thanks to all those who contribute to this thread.
I hope I can share my landing gist when I arrive/settle.
Okoyeebows: Kemi may be crazy but she doesn't lie.
Because of her werey, people don't listen to her but she dey carry confirmed gists.
I remember when Linda was denying she was pregnant till Aunty Kemi opened her yansh.
This is how people twist the truth up and down. Linda said she was pregnant, your darling hero said it was fake, she later changed her story to surrogate delivery.
midolian: I hope Cecilia ibru is Yoruba or Hausa oo.. cos I fear if she's Igbo, my Igbo brothers will soon begin to hate sanusi and start supporting Ganduje
Ah!!!!! Where did you see 'Igbo' in what you read? See how people just bring ethnic divisions where it doesn't dare exist. You're a bloody tribalist. May God have mercy on you.
ekestic1976: In Yorubaland, the properly raised youth don't talk down on elders. They respect them no matter the infraction committed by the elders. When a youth raises his voice to abuse elders, two things must have happened to him whilst growing up. One, either his parents were too busy to train him or, two, he was too busy doing his own thing to bother about home training. You must have encountered one or both of these scenarios, explaining why you must talk about your elder and your president to boot, this way.
If the elder were to be Goodluck Jonathan, would he still be accorded this same respect you talk about?
RedboneSmith: Perhaps you didn't know this, but there's a difference between continuously interrupting someone giving a speech and asking questions and follow-up questions during a press conference.
There's a difference between sending a heckler out of a hall and revoking a journalist's press pass because he asked you questions you were uncomfortable with (even though you tried to make it look like it's because he attacked your aide --- another ridiculous charge, by the way; we all saw what happened).
In any case, the judge who ruled against the White House is not a liberal, but a conservative. And he was appointed by Trump himself. When your own man tells you you are wrong, just know you are wrong.
Thank you. He claimed it was a journalist, only for me to watch and see that it was a common heckler.
Oga!!! Fake news will not help you. That is not a journalist. That is a common heckler. That wasn't a press conference but a reception. Haba!!!!. That was constant heckling. When you find the video of the journalist he sent out, please share with me. Thanks once again boss.
lilbest4: Obama sent out a journalist for interrupting him the liberals didn't say a thing. If Trump should greet the liberals "good morning" they will sue him for not adding "sir" or "ma"
Please give us a news link or youtube video to this claim. Thank you.
lilbest4: Useless judge I watched that press conference the Jim Acosta lacks respect completely you can't even try that with a local government chairman here
Those of you quoting me I guess you didn't watch the press conference. CNN is hypocritical fake news media. There were over 100 journalists present in the conference and each were entitled to a single question Jim Acosta didn't ask a question but rather he was interviewing Donald Trump on the moral behind his banning of illegal immigrants arguing with Trump that they were not invaders. He completely disrespected Sarah by refusing to hand over microphone to her while other journalists were struggling to have a chance to ask the president a question
I haven't said this online before, but (no offence intended) please, Shut Up!!! There's a difference between your culture of unmerited respect and a democracy. I hope Nigerians learn this. Addressing the matter at hand, you should watch press conferences of U.S Presidents dating back to Bush or Clinton before you come and start talking about conduct. It's an every day style, just feed yourself with some journalist questions at Obama press conferences (on youtube), then come back to read what you wrote. Thank you.
Please how were you able to construct this grammar? This is too much. I spent valuable time deciphering what you wrote. "Am I = I mine" 7th wonder of Nigeria
timidapsin: video was too long. Halfway through it, I got hungry so I left it playing and went to the kitchen to fix my self a toast bread. But then I found out that I'm out of mayonnaise so I went to a store.
There, I saw the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my whole life. But I'm really a shy person so I took up a three-year personality development course so I can introduce my self. She was very friendly and all, but unfortunately, she has a boyfriend. So I said, all good, I'm a mature person.
I want the best for her and I harbor no illusion that I am the best person for her and she seems happy with her boyfriend, so I did not bother her anymore. But we kept in touch and we became friends and I got over my crush on her. Then she broke up with her boyfriend, we drank some alcohol because of it, I told her she'll be fine and I wished her well.
I still think she's the most beautiful woman in the world, but like I said, I am over my crush on her. It was like five years already when I first saw her. Besides, I am quiet happy with the friendship I developed with her. It was more important than a crush. So we kept hanging out, drinking, having coffee, and all. I had a girlfriend, she started dating other guys. My girlfriend wants to live some other life without me in it, so I said, okay, I want the best for you and I want you to pursue your happiness.
My lady friend and I drank alcohol about it, and she gave me the same advice I gave her when she was in that position and I became okay with the breakup immediately. But we were really drunk, so she spent the night in my apartment. I only have one bed, so you know what that means: She took the bed and I slept on the couch. But on the couch, I really can't sleep.
Something was bothering me. So I tossed and turned for about three hours, then I finally can't take it anymore, I stood up and went straight to my room where she's sleeping. I approached the bed, gently sat on it and I reached for her shoulder to pull her closer to me. She stirred and woke up. She asked what's up.
I told her, you know, the first time I saw you, I was watching a video and left it playing to get my self a sandwich then went to the store to get some mayo then I got distracted by life that I forgot to finish the video. She said, you know what, I've been wondering about a weird noise in your night drawer.
So we opened that drawer, and lo and behold, there's my phone and this video still has 30 seconds of play time on it.
Not hating bro. But, people have called you a genius and you have garnered a lot of likes. Why not tell them you got it off facebook. If you ever watch a foreign video on facebook, there's a 90% line that you'll see a comment that starts with 'video was too long...'
Same story everytime. 'Serious' nations taking part in major sporting events ensure their athletes are well prepared and properly motivated. Nigeria chooses to be different everytime.
agabusta: If a someone is able to successfully make himself the President of a country of millions of intelligent folks on two different occasions, you must actually be the greatest dullard for u to think such a person is dull.
Btw Those Sacked are as follows:
Dr. Mohammed Ado Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA)
Femi Akingbade Acting-Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)
Professor Karniyus Gamanie Director-General of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD)
Yetunde Oni Acting Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC)
Professor Innocent Ujah Director-General of the National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR)
I can confirm there are three Southerners there out of 5.
How come you have not deemed it fit to criticise the Southern President who made these appointments?
Return to google to be sure of who and who made all those appointments. Even if I know nothing else, Paul Orhii (Benue state) was NAFDAC DG when Buhari assumed office. It's a different name up there.
