My Uniport brothers and sisters, please gather round oo. I need clarification.
So after the ICES wahala with Uniport, I started sending them mails to know the status of my ECA or refund. They replied one of my mails saying they'll likely refund me.
I woke up this morning to a message from UPS saying I have a package from ICES. I'm in shock o. Could it be my money in that package or my ECA? Meanwhile, my profile now reads application complete.
Please has any Uniport person gotten this feedback from ICES recently?
PS: My WES evaluation is already in progress, I'm just curious. |

Thanks a lot! He does not want to use the self employed route because of its requirements. The letter head downstairs not carry his name as director. His fear is the background checks that cic might run. Won't it show that he is a director? ladymarshall: It depends. If he wants to go through the self-employed route as a co-owner, he will have to get recommendations from clients, not just tax proof. Since the company has not been awarded any contracts, getting clients recommendations could be a challenge.
I think its better he uses the employed route since he gets a salary. His supervisor will write the letter for him. It is only reasonable to expect that the other director supervise his work before paying him his money.
Does the letterhead show that he is a co-owner? if yes, he has to declare co-ownership as a director. If no, let him use his managerial portfolio only. |

Good evening seniors, Please I have a question that needs urgent attention.
If one jointly owns a company that was registered in 2015. That is the person is one of the directors. The said company has been pursuing government contracts but has not been awarded any. Money has not passed through the official company account but this fellow has been working hard to make this happen.
The company has been paying tax.
The other director has been paying him some money for the hard work.
Can he use such a job to claim points for work experience if his job description fall under the right noc code?
If yes, who will sign this reference letter? Is he supposed to declare that he is a director in the company doubling as a manager? |

GozyNA: I'll suggest you wait till ICES concludes your evaluation. You can send them a mail though, just to get some reassurance. Graduates of UniPort have been getting their credentials evaluated without issues so I believe that case is peculiar for reasons we don't know. Ok, thank you |

Ifeoma77: So sorry about that. Shake it off and evaluate with another body. Eyes on the prize, it will end in praises This is not good news... I've been waiting patiently for my ICES evaluation and just when I feel like I'm getting close to the mark, this news comes to destabilize my evening. The degree I'm trying to assess is from Uniport. I am about 8 weeks gone but I haven't received any email from ICES. Please house, what do you suggest I do? -Send ICES an email to find out if they'll assess the degree? -Register with WES and spend more money? -Wait to see if they'll send a similar mail to me after 14 weeks? |

The decision to migrate was made in early 2017.
Evaluated my master degree with IQAS and hubby's ND/HND with WES.
We wrote IELTS 9 times (mine 8 and hubby 1)
I passed IELTS at the 5th attempt with LRSW - 9777
Unfortunately, this placed us at 439 and went for two more with 0.5 deficiencies in writing.
I then took the last test on 1st December 2018 and had LRSW - 8.5, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5. This breakthrough in writing came when Dr Benson offered to teach and review my write-ups. Our CRS score then moved to 445
I never got tired of writing the exam as it was the only mountain before me that needs to be leveled for us to have ITA.
My utmost thanks goes to the God Almighty !!! Congratulations!!! This is a huge encouragement to all IELTS hopefuls. Your breakthrough is just around the corner. You can do it! Don't give up! Yes, you can! |

Biometrics can be done anywhere irrespective of the location. Ok, thank you. A wedding certificate was issued, I just want to be sure it will be recognized. About the biometrics... duely noted! Good morning house, I have a few questions.
- My (church/traditional) marriage is about 3.5 years old but we haven't done court marriage. I hope it's not too late to get it done this month for the purpose of this immigration. Will it raise any suspicion? We already have two kids.
- Is it possible for the PA to do biometrics in another country e.g Denmark, while your family does theirs in Nigeria ?
PS: The PA won't be in Nigeria by then and may not be able to travel back for this purpose. |

A typical masters program is usually about 120 credits. What you selected is just a single course which when combined with other courses will make up a program. |

Hello house, Please I need your advice. I recently got admitted to the University of Gothenburg and I hope to begin my application for student residence permit in May. My account is currently empty. Is it ok if my spouse or other people pay in the lump sum I need, will it raise suspicion? Secondly, how many months proof of funds are we to prove? I intend to apply with my family of 4. Thank you for your anticipated response. |

duchessgoddess: Hello everyone, please I need your help; in registering for ICES assessment, it is required that I upload a copy of my certificate. Thing is, I haven't received my certificate yet. Can I upload only my statement of result? Or must I go get my certificate? And then for my int'l passport page, it expired in January and I haven't renewed yet. Do I upload like that since the reason they need it is to verify my age?
Cc: Queencyco You can upload your statement but it is important that your school sends a copy of the statement along with your transcript. Please renew your passport, I don't think the expired one is acceptable. |

duchessgoddess: thank you so much Queencyco. So ICES is it then. Which is better to ask them to do though, post by email or courier? When you say "go with enough money", do you mean I must be physically present to start this process? If you're sending someone, please send someone who is proactive and capable of lobbying people to get the job done. Also give the person extra money for tips. He/she may need to tip the typist, registrars sec, computer center people, etc. Email is faster but do both to be on the safe side. You won't be charged for the email as long as you've paid your normal transcript processing fee. Just request that they email the transcripts before posting and they will do it. |

duchessgoddess: Hello everyone. Anyone attended ABSU (Abia State University) here? Which is better and more common to use for ECA? WES or IQAS?
Cc: Tojued I'm sure of WES and ICES. I really don't know about IQAS. You should know that ABSU can send your transcripts to ICES by email and also post it via courier if you want it that way. If you however, pay for your transcript and post it to WES, and then come back later for verification, you'll be required to pay another fee for verification (30k). Rest assured, ABSU knows the process very well, the only problem is that their charges are high plus the tips. Just go with enough money sha |

Topsmamen: Yes, she can claim points for 3 years as her total work experience exceeds 3 years. She only needs to get reference letter in one of the jobs where her work experience is at least 1 year. Please shed more light on this. Do you mean for example that if I am claiming points for " secondary school teacher" and "administrative assistant" , I only need to bring reference letter for the primary NOC? Meaning I don't need to prove the secondary NOC by providing a reference letter for it? |

raspberry88: Please I need help o,
My profile on ICES just changed to "Incomplete File, (Documents Required).
I have uploaded all my documents and paid my school to send my transcript to them. Please which documents do they still want or is it the verification? What it probably means is that they are yet to receive your official transcript from your school. Kindly reach out to your university to ensure it has been sent. If possible, get the tracking number and follow up. You can also email ICES and ask them what documents they need. |

ojsamuel: Processing time has been extended to average of 14 weeks. They also raised concern on receipt of fraudulent documents so I guess verification appears very key now. That's not even a problem, my concern is that ICES doesn't inform applicants when they send verification mail to their schools I tried to solve this verification issue with ICES by persuading my school to send my transcript / statement to ICES via email. They received my documents way before the hard copy got to them. I am hoping that with this, they won't need to send any verification email.i did this for hubby's ABSU degree and my Uniport degree. My advice: If you're using ICES, lobby the admissions officer in your school to send your documents via a valid email and still do courier. This MAY save you from verification. |

Please, is it ok to sign up for the EE now, yet to do ECA or IELTS for wifey who will be the PA, or should I wait till everything is ready before I sign up on the site? No, it is not okay. Please get the eca and ielts done first. I advise you also do yours to get more points from spouse (ie if hers alone won't give you a high score) |
