Just doing my job, suga! Busting truth where truth should be busting, |
Yes, I am wearing the Traditional Igbo tribe dress. He made sure my booty is covered I wanted it to hike up in the back, winks! He into natural look and I am blessed where I do not have to wear make up or anything, sometimes I wear it just to get reaction but most of the time I don't wear it and people always say what number make up is that, I say NATURAL NUMBER 1. I am not in England girl, I am in the big USA! We just decided to get marry somewhere else, England. We are going to Nigeria after the wedding to go to the village. Sisters will then prep me on the cooking and stuff. They are so happy I don't look American, whatever that mean. I didn't ask. I will definately try to sneak in some fake eyelashes! They are so cute! Of course get these barking dogs of my toes pedicured! I am getting me some fresh microbraids in June so it will be fresh and clean! |
I got a thumb up! OOOOWHOOOO! ![]() |
Hell Nawl on the public invite, but you and Ayetty are welcome to come, We getting married in at his brother hometown, Liverpool, that where many of his family and my family will be at. I will have to squeeze two more spots in the reception hall. May have to eat with the cooks! It soooooo fugggggin stressful and I almost said FUGG IT! But, I am okay now! |
People use common sense, not everyone have the skills to obtain a job. If you do not have the skill to obtain the job to make money or does not have any working experience, you will not get a job. No one will hire a incompetent person. I encourage women all the time go to school and obtain a degree in a skill of your choosing so that you can fall back on it if you need to. But, they dreamed of being a housewife and depend on husband to provide all the time. This is a new day and age, DO NOT RELY TOTALLY ON YOUR HUSBAND for everything. As you can see the poster tired of supporting the family entirely. Hmmph! |
Hello! I am Black American and my fiance is Igbo. He always crack me up when he trying to "talk American" and I tell him all the time. Just be you and speak English the best way you can. One day we were having a conversation and I think he was trying to say I am very ambitious. But, it sounded like he was calling me a BIIITCH. I started taking off my earrings and tightened up my sneakers. I said you said what bruh? He was so confused and didn't know what was going on. I said you called me a Biiiiitch? He was like oooooh nooo baby I was saying ambitch. I laughed and had to help him pronounce it right. It was fun and I have a blast with my fiance. Cultural learning can be fun if you open your mind. English is not that hard to learn. My fiance often write it exactly how it sound and not what it should spell. |
^^^^^Don't think my baby would like that. (I am engaged) Smile. I think Ayetty's available. |
My Nigerian sister said, she don't understand why POSTER having issues with the girls dating interracially. Nigerian men do it all the time dating white, asian, and hispanic women. What the different with a woman doing the same thing? It a double standard if you ask me. Grow up poster and find a woman for you! |
Just wondering, |
The definition of a supportive wife is a wife that stands by the husband and support the family based on her available resources and abilities. Now, if you want a wife that help financially that does not mean supportive. It important to know the accurate definition of things before you speak because then you sound silly. There are men who want a woman to work AND TAKE CARE OF THE FAMILY. Hmmm, if you want the wife to work then you then you will need to pick up a mop and cook as well! |
Awwww (blowing nose loudly) It was so beautiful! (calling baby at work) |
^^^^^^U okay suga? |
Remdan:According to some of these nuts, if you can marry ANYONE to get a green card the sympathy marriage shouldn't be any different. Hmmph! |
I guess this must be an individual thing because most of my African friends, who are female and male said that you are not suppose to bring your ex around your mate or even bring them up because they are your past. Once again, I am chilling, |
So harsh, so cruel, He could truly love her and the age is a lil bit uhmm but anyway, He could possibly love you and just cos he doesn't ask for money don't mean he is genuine then again, FOR YOUR SAKE, I HOPE HE IS you sound like you loooove this man! |
Oooooh yes lawd, my fiance is protective and a bit demanding, but I understand him. He always asking me let me know if my African's ways getting to you, I told him when I give him a dead eye be warned. I haven't gave him the dead eye, YET! HE DOING GOOD, and he so accommodating and spoils me rotten! Sighs! I am trying to not let the spoiling get over my head, hey I am human! He always make sure when we go to bed we go to bed on happy terms and I love him for that. I never went to bed upset yet! |
There are many Africans who are doing that and not just Nigerians. I believe that THERE ARE SOME GOOD AFRICANS who marry these women out of Love and if you come from TRADITIONAL AFRICAN family, you will not disgrace your family and divorce is a disgrace in some AFRICAN FAMILIES. Men, who start a family are planning on staying with the woman they married or otherwise they would not have children with a woman they have no intention on staying with. I find Nigeria culture amazing, but then again who am I? My fiance is Nigerian in every sense of the way and pursue me for a long time. I finally gave in cos it was time, SIGHS, Karma have a way of coming back around and biting harder than a chew, BE CAREFUL! |
Poster, My fiance is Igbo and we decided to name our children Christian name and his Igbo name that way the children have both. When my fiance first told me his name I was like huh what huh? Now I can say my new last name like a pro! Chea! |
Well, I have a lot of African friends from every corner of Africa. I learned just because a person is from Africa does not mean that they all share the same culture. The same for Black Americans. Many black Americans feel that they are African in every sense of the way. Because of the DIS-TRIBALIZATION if you will, many Black Americans do not know what tribe or African country they originated from. Many Black Americans look at Africans as role model believe it or not. It interesting how SOME Africans feel that Black Americans do not take advantage of the available resources. South Africa went through the same thing that Black Americans went through during the 50's and 60's the displacement of social status therefore strip the Black Americans the right to equal education, housing, health care, and employment. The media is responsible for how they pit Black Americans against Africans and vice versa. I always tell people believe LESS WHAT YOU HEAR OR READ and more what YOU SEE OR EXPERIENCE. The experience is the most accurate indication of an event, a person, and an idea. There are a lot of Black Americans, who are successful, educated, and hold prominent careers. The media is not favorable of Black Americans in America. The marketing strategy and subliminal manipulation is to place Black Americans in a different specimen level as if they are lab rats. I have a friend who is from Kenya and she always say why do blacks complain all the time. They have it made and complaining. I asked did she study Black History when she was in Kenyan University? She replied No. I simply said of course, you didn't. Black America History is not readily available to the mass population. Black Americans have be conditioned to believe that Africans are murderers, HIV-Positive laden, kidnappers, women beaters, child rapists, uneducated, poor, cult worshippers, and lazy people. However, many of Black Americans do not believe that and actually embrace Africans with understanding that we have to fight against Media manipulation. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Black Americans and White Americans who believe Africans are demonic people with machetes. The movies and Media does not paint Africa in the light it needed to be. It sad and horrific. Every time I hear stereotypical comments from a person who either African or foreigner, I always say be careful what you are saying because someone's else thinking you are the same way. I also add, "Put yourself in the person's shoes, how would you feel if you are the person being stereotyped based on the color of your skin or where you come from?" It works all the time. Stereotype of another culture, race, creed, gender, social status, and education level is wrong and often misleading. Think about it, Hope that helps! |
Angelheart:THERE ARE SOME GOOD NIGERIAN MEN AND I AM ENGAGED TO ONE OF THEM, EACH TO THEIR OWN, |
Hello Lovely! I am an African-American woman engaged to an Igbo man myself and child, HIS FAMILY LOVE THEM SOME OF ME! If your boyfriend is open then you shouldn't have any problem. I have met few of his family members and they all gave him the go ahead and nudging him as well, which is a good thing seeing that they are very tight-knit family. My fiance love to eat so cooking is a must for me. It not much of a difference and the only thing that seperate you and your boyfriend is that You was born in America and he was born in Africa. Well, I can only speak for me and my fiance. We get along like white on rice and we understands each other. Cultural differences shouldn't be a hinderance, but a blessing. I am learning so much about his culture and he learning so much about mine. One thing I MUST ADVISE YOU never talk about or even imply another man's name whooooweee girl, I made a mistake of talking about my best friend's ex boyfriend and I was talking about how good he was, THE LOOK ON MY MAN'S EYES! I HAD TO QUICKLY TELL HIM THAT WAS MY BEST FRIEND'S MAN NOT MINE, HOWEVER LEAVE UR PAST IN THE PAST UNLESS HE ASK YOU. CHEA! |
