SportsHow Much Alexis Sanchez Has Earned Sitting On The Bench Revealed by queenonyebiri1(op): 12:07pm On Aug 28, 2019
Alexis Sanchez is set to end his Manchester United nightmare by signing for Inter Milan.

The Italian giants have agreed a loan deal with the Chilean forward, with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte keen to team him up with Romelu Lukaku, who also left Old Trafford this summer.

Inter do not have an option to buy at the end of the loan, however, with terms not yet agreed over the amount of his astronomical wages they will pay while he is on loan for the season.

Sanchez has endured a torrid time in Manchester, after a blistering Arsenal spell.

The 30-year-old scored a quite brilliant 80 goals in 166 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, at almost a goal every other game.

But since joining the Red Devils in January 2018, as part of a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan - who has failed to set the world alight at Arsenal - Sanchez has managed just five goals in 45 appearances.

It has been a disastrous spell, and one which has cost United a hefty sum of money.

According to research in April, Sanchez had been paid more than anyone else in the English Premier League for sitting on the bench, something that will have brought a wry smile to the faces of anyone connected with Arsenal.

At that time he had been paid almost £5million (£4,881,014) just to sit on the bench – having sat on the bench for 15 hours and 17 minutes, at £5,323 per minute.

SportsCarragher: "Mane Is The First World-class Liverpool Left Winger In 30 Years" by queenonyebiri1(op): 4:13pm On Aug 23, 2019
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Sadio Mane is the first world-class left winger for the Reds in 30 years.

The Senegal international has been delivering outstanding performances since teaming up with the Anfield outfit from Southampton in June 2016.

In his debut season with Jurgen Klopp’s men, the forward scored 13 league goals. He then built on those efforts in the 2017-18 season by scoring 20 goals.

Last season, the 27-year-old notched 22 league goals to emerge as the Premier League joint-top scorer. He racked up 25 goals in all competitions.

The forward’s contribution helped Liverpool win the Uefa Champions League for the first time since 2005.

Carragher believes the Senegalese player is one of the best left wingers along with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard.

Carragher told the Telegraph:

It has been the consistency of performances, especially in the last 12 months that, to my mind, means he genuinely now merits the world-class description.

As left-sided attackers I would rate Mane, Raheem Sterling and Eden Hazard as currently the best, especially now that Ronaldo has become more of a striker and the struggles of Neymar since the World Cup.

I also think that Mane is Liverpool’s first genuinely world-class winger since John Barnes and the club’s best wide left player for almost 30 years.

SportsMost Valuable Players In The World: Salah And Sterling Outrank Barcelona's Messi by queenonyebiri1(op): 2:53pm On Aug 16, 2019
Raheem Sterling and Mohamed Salah are ranked as two of the three most valuable players in the world according to the Football Observatory, putting them both above Lionel Messi — while England star Jadon Sancho is hot on the Barcelona man's tail.

Ranked third is Sterling with the Manchester City forward priced at £190million (N84billion) and he is just behind Salah whose value sits at a £200million (N88.6billion) following two stunning campaigns at Liverpool.

Both though trail Kylian Mbappe who tops the list of 100 players, with the Paris Saint-Germain star well out in front at £230m (N101.8bn).

Perhaps surprisingly Messi's value falls well below the trio with his £153million (N69billion) tag only good enough to rank him fourth.

The CIES Football Observatory list is based on an algorithm produced with around 57 variables including age, contract, position, minutes, goals, international status and team results.

Transfer values are also based on the potential recruiting club.

All of Liverpool's front three feature in the top 10, with Sadio Mane sixth and Roberto Firmino ranked eighth.

English Premier League stars make the majority of the top 10 with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Manchester City's Leroy Sane also featuring, while there is a space in fifth for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho with the England international's value just £8m less than Messi's.

Antoine Griezmann, who moved to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid for £105m (N46.5bn) this summer has already seen his value increase by over £25m (3.5bn) to make him the ninth most valued player.

Outside of the top 10, Paul Pogba and Neymar (both £114m/N50.5bn) are ranked 16th and 17th respectively, but below Philippe Coutinho and Romelu Lukaku.

Squeezing into the top 20 is Cristiano Ronaldo (£108m) just behind Eden Hazard (£110m/N48.7bn) and Marcus Rashford (£113m/N50bn).

Virgil van Dijk may be a strong contender to win the Ballon d'Or but he is not even ranked the most valuable defender, with that honour going to 13th placed Trent Alexander Arnold (£119m/N52.6bn).

Van Dijk is instead valued at (£102m/N45bn) and down in 22nd spot. Liverpool also boast the most valuable goalkeeper with Alisson a further two places down at £98m (N43bn).

TOP 10 MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD:

1. Kylian Mbappe (PSG) £230m (N101.8bn)

2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £200m (N88.6bn)

3. Raheem Sterling (Man City) £190m (N84bn)

4. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) £153m (N69bn)

5. Jadon Sancho (B. Dortmund) £145m (N64bn)

6. Sadio Mane (Liverpool) £144m(N63.7bn)

7. Harry Kane (Tottenham) £143m (N63.5bn)

8. Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) £132m (N58bn)

9. A. Griezmann (Barcelona) £131m (N57.9bn)

10. Leroy Sane (Man City) £125m(N55bn)

Sports[most Successful English Clubs]: Manunited Remain England's Most Successful Team by queenonyebiri1(op): 6:51pm On Aug 15, 2019
Manchester United are still England's most successful club, even after Liverpool's win in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night.

With Liverpool's UEFA Super Cup win over Chelsea on Wednesday night, they are now closing in on the trophy haul of their rivals United.

The Super Cup has raised Liverpool's tally to 61 trophies, while Manchester United are still slightly ahead with 66.

United fans will point to their superior league trophy count, while Liverpool fans will remind them of their total 13 European titles, and the rivalry will continue.

Manchester United lead the way in terms of domestic trophies, winning the top English league on 20 occasions in their history. However, Liverpool are only two behind on 18.
Adrian lifts the Super Cup trophy after his heroic save won them the penalty shootout
They've also won more FA Cups than Liverpool, with 12 compared to seven, however Arsenal actually lead all the teams in this category with 13.

Liverpool come out on top more often in the League Cup though, with eight wins to their name, compared to United's five. They've also got a Sheriff of London Charity Shield, which only ran until 1907, and the one-off Football League Super Cup to their name.

When it comes to the FA Community Shield, formerly known as the Charity Shield, Manchester United are currently runaway leaders, with a huge 21 wins contributing to their overall total of 66 trophies. Interestingly, if you did not include this trophy then Liverpool would be ahead of United by one.

But European competition is where Liverpool really shine, winning more of the top trophies than any other English club.

They've got 13 overall, with six Champions Leagues, three Europa Leagues, and four UEFA Super Cups.
Meanwhile, United have three Champions League trophies, one Europa League, and one Super Cup.

Arsenal are next on the list of total trophies earned by an English club, but a long way back with 46.

They've done well domestically, with 13 league wins, two League Cups, and 15 Community Shields added onto their 13 FA Cups, but they falter in European competition.

They've never won either of the big competitions, but they did win a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

Next up on the list are Chelsea, who have a total of 31 trophies. Their Europa League win this year was their sixth European honour, with a Champions League, a Super Cup, a second Europa League, and a couple of Cup Winners' Cups to their name.
Arsenal have won the league 13 times, and have 13 FA Cups along with 15 Community Shields
They also have 25 domestic trophies: 6 league wins, eight FA Cups, five League Cups, four Community Shields, as well as two Full Members' Cups, which was discontinued in 1992.

Fifth are Spurs, with 26 total trophies. They've won three European trophies and 23 domestically, albeit only with two league wins.

Aston Villa and Manchester City are both level on 25, although it seems likely City will pull ahead of that total sooner rather than later.

SportsLa Liga Strike Last-minute Deal With ITV To Allow Matches To Be Shown In Britain by queenonyebiri1(op): 6:20pm On Aug 15, 2019
Spanish La Liga have secured a last-minute broadcasting deal with ITV for games to be shown live in Britain this season.

ITV have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with La Liga to be their broadcasting partners for the upcoming season, which begins on Friday night.

The La Liga curtain raiser between Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona will be shown on free-to-air TV on ITV4 and ITV Hub LIVE from 8:00 p.m. BST (UK).

It has also been announced that one game from the following two match weeks will be shown live on ITV.

Barcelona's home clash against Real Betis on August 25 was selected as the game for the second week while matchday three's game will be Real Madrid's trip to Villarreal on September 1.

Thursday's announcement follows ITV4's coverage of the final months of the La Liga season last term alongside subscription-based TV channel Premier Sports.

Streaming service Eleven Sports, owned by Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani, had secured the rights to broadcast La Liga last season, but the deal had to renegotiated after far fewer British consumers signed up to watch than when Sky Sports controlled the rights.

A number of broadcasters made bids for La Liga at the end of the season but Joris Evers, head of communications for the league, claimed none were 'satisfactory'.

La Liga chief Javier Tebas was keen for the league's games to be shown in Britain this season but resisted lowball offers for the UK rights after securing lucrative deals in the United States.

There was plenty of ambiguity around the situation with no deal in place but an agreement has been struck with ITV just in time before the season kicks-off.

Boxing legend and cannabis fanatic Mike Tyson has been enjoying the relaxing life during his retirement.

Speaking on the Hotboxin' podcast, as reported by The Mirror, Iron Mike revealed just how much weed he smokes each month.

He said:

What do we smoke a month? Is it $40,000 (N14.7million/£33k) a month? It's $40, yeah, $40,000 a month.' Former NFL offensive tackle Eben Britton, Tyson's co-host on the podcast, then revealed: 'We smoke 10 tons of weed at the ranch a month.

The former world heavyweight champion owns a 40-acre cannabis ranch close to California's Death Valley, which he decided to open after the US state legalised weed.

The 53-year-old has his own school for prospective weed growers at the ranch called 'The Tyson Cultivation School'.

Tyson even admitted to smoking marijuana before he beat Andrew Golota in 2000, which he won after Golota failed to answer the bell for the third round.

SportsCoutinho's Agent Arrives In Barcelona For Talks Amid Neymar Saga - Report by queenonyebiri1(op): 6:34pm On Aug 14, 2019
Philippe Coutinho's representative has arrived in Barcelona to continue negotiations surrounding the Brazilian's departure.

According to Goal, Giuliano Bertolucci landed in the Spanish city on Wednesday morning to discuss the midfielder's potential exit.

His trip to Spain came following a flight to France, where he had talks with representatives of Paris Saint-Germain, and a quick trip to Lisbon to hold talks with Brazilian side Flamengo over the future of another client, Mario Balotelli.

Coutinho's future is the agent's biggest concern at the moment, though, as two possibilities remain on the table.

The former Liverpool star could still move to PSG as part of a deal that would bring Neymar to Barcelona, while a loan to Bayern Munich with an option to buy also remains on the table.

SportsSalah Disagrees With Pep: "UCL The Biggest Competition In Football" by queenonyebiri1(op): 2:52pm On Aug 14, 2019
Mohamed Salah has responded to Pep Guardiola's claims that winning the English Premier League is most important each season, instead claiming that the UEFA Champions League is the trophy everyone wants to win.
Salah and his Liverpool team-mates came out on top in Europe last season, winning the club's sixth European Cup with victory over Tottenham in the final in Madrid.

Guardiola, meanwhile, guided Manchester City to an unprecedented domestic treble in England, but came up short in the Champions League as his side were knocked out by Spurs in the quarter-finals.

Despite being widely regarded as his generation's finest coach, the Catalan has not won the continent's biggest prize since 2011 with Barcelona, with City having not made past the last-eight since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium in 2016.

Upon that defeat to Tottenham in April, Guardiola claimed that success domestically meant more than in Europe, saying:

The Champions League is seven games, you can win the Champions League but the league is every three days in the same month.

I'm sorry but it's much more important what these guys have done the whole season."

But Salah, who scored the opener in June's final at the Wanda Metropolitano from the penalty spot, does not agree with the City boss and feels that they would both choose the Champions League given the option between that and winning the Premier League.

Salah told CNN:

Honestly, I didn't know that he [Guardiola] said that, but I think if you give him a choice to choose which one, he would choose the Champions League.

That's my opinion. I'm not talking about him, but my opinion. It's the biggest competition in football, so everyone wants to win it.

Every coach, every player wants to win it, dreams of winning it. So, of course, the Premier League also is something big, but still the Champions League is the biggest competition.

SportsKlopp's 2018 UCL Final Team-talk That Had Liverpool Stars In Stitches by queenonyebiri1(op): 2:29pm On Aug 14, 2019
Gini Wijnaldum has revealed how Jurgen Klopp gave a pre-UEFA Champions League final meeting in Cristiano Ronaldo underpants prior to their 2018 clash with Real Madrid.

The pressure was on the Reds as they headed into their first European Cup final since 2007, while Madrid were looking to claim their third title on the spin.

But, aware of the nerves his players might be feeling ahead of the game in Kiev, Wijnaldum has revealed how Klopp insantly lifted the pressure by arriving for a team meeting wearing Ronaldo-branded boxers.

The Dutchman told The Athletic:

We saw he was wearing the boxer shorts of Cristiano Ronaldo. He did the meeting with his shirt stuffed inside his 'CR7' boxers. The whole changing room was on the floor laughing their heads off.

That really broke the ice. Usually in those situations, everyone is serious and concentrated. But he was relaxed and made this joke.

He’s done hundreds of jokes likes that. If you see that your manager is really confident and relaxed, it will have an effect on players. He is a father figure in those things for the players. With his jokes and his body language, he takes the pressure off players.

Despite being on the losing side on that occasion, with two goals from Gareth Bale helping Madrid to a 3-1 win over Klopp's side, they would go again in 2018-19 and claim the trophy this time around, beating Tottenham in the final.

SportsEPL Clubs SMASH Summer Spending Record With Almost £1.44BILLION (n634bn)in Deals by queenonyebiri1(op): 5:44am On Aug 09, 2019
English Premier League clubs have smashed the summer transfer spending record with almost £1.44billion (N634billion) in deals.

Transfer deadline days have invariably been the dampest of squibs in recent years but it this turned out to be a zinger.

Following the transfer deadline on Thursday evening, the 20 English Premier League clubs had spent £1.438bn (N633bn)gross on new players this summer.

Arsenal led the way (£150m/N66bn gross) with Chelsea the biggest net gainers so far (£80.6m/N35.6bn) following David Luiz's switch across London to the Gunners.

The previous record spend by the English top-flight clubs combined in one window was the £1.425bn (N627.6bn) of summer 2017.

If you think this is all exciting, a word of caution. The Premier League is the only major league in Europe where the value of domestic TV rights has gone DOWN this season, so quite a few PL clubs will be seeing flat or even reduced income in 2019-20.

And yes, the overall TV income haul will be up because foreign rights have grown.

But that will principally benefit the biggest clubs under the new and increasingly iniquitous way the foreign TV revenue will be shared.

SportsEverton Confirm Signing Of Arsenal's Alex Iwobi On 5-year Deal by queenonyebiri1(op): 10:07pm On Aug 08, 2019
Everton have confirmed the signing of Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi on a five-year deal, after the Nigeria international agreed personal terms with the club.

Iwobi, who rose through the youth ranks at the Emirates and joined the first team squad in 2015, played 149 times for the Gunners, scoring 15 goals and contributing 27 assists largely from the flank.

And, in a statement on their official website, the Merseyside club confirmed:

Alex Iwobi has signed for Everton from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee after agreeing a five-year deal until the end of June 2024.

Meanwhile, Everton boss Marco Silva explained:

Alex was one of our main targets for this window and I believe he is a fantastic signing for Everton. He is a direct and skilful winger and attacking midfielder who always works very hard for his team.

He is still young but already with a lot of top-level experience – 100 Premier League matches, more in Europe and many international games.

It was important for me to have one more quality option for our attacking positions to add to what we have with Richarlison, Bernard and Theo Walcott.

Alex fits exactly the profile of player I want in my model. He is hungry to join Everton and take the next step in his career, to help us compete with the strongest teams in the league and reach his potential at our club.

Speaking via Arsenal official website, Unai Emery said:

Alex has made a big contribution here at Arsenal. He worked hard in the academy where he was an example to many young players and has been an important part of our squad. We wish Alex every success in the future.

SportsDavid Luiz Attempting To Force Arsenal Move - Report by queenonyebiri1(op): 8:46pm On Aug 07, 2019
David Luiz reportedly did not train with Chelsea on Wednesday as the centre-back looks to force a move to Arsenal in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.

The departure of club captain Laurent Koscielny is expected to see Arsenal enter the transfer market to sign a new central defender before the deadline passes.

According to the Daily Mail, Luiz did not train alongside his Chelsea teammates on Wednesday as he attempts to force a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

The report claims that the Gunners are yet to make a formal offer for 32-year-old, although Unai Emery's side are expected to launch a bid 'imminently'.

Luiz, who re-joined Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2016, made 50 appearances for the Blues in all competitions during the 2018-19 campaign.

Frank Lampard's side, who take on Manchester United in their season opener this weekend, would be unable to sign a replacement for the Brazilian in the final stages of the window as the capital outfit are currently under a transfer ban.

SportsEx-Arsenal Striker Danny Welbeck Joins Watford by queenonyebiri1(op): 4:53pm On Aug 07, 2019
Watford have completed the signing of out-of-contract England striker Danny Welbeck.

Welbeck, 28, left Arsenal in June after five years at the club.

The Hornets believe Welbeck, who has 42 England caps and was part of Gareth Southgate's 2018 World Cup squad, can have a major impact providing he can stay fit.

He was restricted to 14 appearances for Arsenal last season after signing from Manchester United in 2014.

SportsGuardiola Picks Up First Ever Manager Yellow Card Against Liverpool by queenonyebiri1(op): 6:10pm On Aug 04, 2019
Pep Guardiola became the first manager ever to receive a yellow card during the first half of Manchester City’s Community Shield clash with Liverpool.

As part of a series of English Premier League rule changes, managers can now be shown yellow and red cards for misconduct.

And Pep Guardiola became the first coach of the season to be cautioned by a match official.

The Catalan was incensed after a clash between Liverpool defender Joe Gomez and David Silva which left the Spanish play-maker down in pain.
Pep Guardiola.

The pair had both attempted to play the ball, with Gomez catching Silva’s foot after the Manchester City star got there first.

But Guardiola was convinced Gomez had intentionally kicked out at Silva.

For his protestations, the 48-year-old was booked.

Match officials are able to issue cards to anyone occupying the technical area across all levels of English football.

Four yellows to one person across a season will lead to a one-match touchline ban.

If a manager accumulates eight cards, that will be doubled to a two-match suspension.

SportsFinally, Arsenal Smash Their Transfer Record To Sign £72m (n31.6bn) Pepe by queenonyebiri1(op): 5:37pm On Aug 01, 2019
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Nicolas Pepe in a £72million (N31.6billion)) deal.

The Ivory Coast international becomes the club’s fourth signing of the transfer window and the deal smashes the club’s transfer record, which was previously set by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s £56m (N24.6bn) move from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.

Pepe has been in England since Tuesday morning when he travelled to Arsenal’s training centre at London Colney to undergo a medical and meet his new team-mates.
And - despite a slight delay in finalising the paperwork - the Gunners have officially announced the capture of the 24-year-old from Lille.

The forward, who will wear the number 19 shirt, said:

Being here is very emotional because it has not been easy for me. I have come a long way and struggled a lot and so signing for this great club is a big reward. It was important to make the right decision and I am convinced that Arsenal is the right choice.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery said:

Nicolas is a highly-rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe.

Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I'm delighted he's joining.

He will add pace, power and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team.

SportsJuventus Star Dybala Demands 'ozil Money' To Join Man United by queenonyebiri1(op): 7:44pm On Jul 31, 2019
Juventus striker Paulo Dybala is demanding huge money to leave for Manchester United.

The Daily Mail says Dybala has told United he wants £350,000 (N155million) per-week to join them from Juventus and enable Romelu Lukaku to complete his move to Italy.

An agreement on Dybala's personal terms will be the final piece in the jigsaw for one of the summer window's most exciting transfers.

His representatives have made it clear they are looking for a significant increase on the £6.5million per year he takes home after tax in Turin.

Dybala wants £9million (N4billion) a year after tax at Old Trafford which would launch him into the highest tier of Premier League earners alongside Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.

This is more than United were hoping to pay although it is early in the talks about personal terms and the difference is not expected to block the transfer.

SportsArsenal Drop Biggest Hint Yet Over Lille Forward Pepe by queenonyebiri1(op): 6:25pm On Jul 31, 2019
Nicolas Pepe is set to become an Arsenal player and his new club and future teammates have taken it upon themselves to add a bit of mischief while fans wait for confirmation of his arrival.

After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang borrowed the Ivorain's goal celebration after finding the back of the net against Lyon at the Emirates Cup he traded Instagram messages with his strike partner, Alexandre Lacazette, in which they both repeated the hand gesture.

On social media, Granit Xhaka and other members of the first team dressing room have been spotted liking updates on the progress of the deal to being the 24-year-old to the Emirates Stadium.

The club went one step further ahead of kick off against Angers with a update on their official live blog that was anything but subtle.

In an update posted ahead of team news, the Arsenal feed added:

It's been a promising pre-season, with plenty of players catching the eye during our games in the United States, a couple of new additions joining the ranks recently...

...and, who knows, maybe more will follow in the not-too-distant future.

Kieran Tierney is another signing who could follow the three first-team captures this summer following confirmation of Pepe's move.

The Manchester United striker is said to have agreed a contract worth €9million (N3.6billion/£8.2m) per year.

SportsSuper Eagles Players Embark On Pay Strike, Boycott Mandatory Pre-match Press by queenonyebiri1(op): 11:49am On Jun 25, 2019
The Super Eagle player representative boycotted the mandatory pre-match press conference held at the Alexandria Stadium on Tuesday morning ahead of their second group match at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations against Guinea tomorrow at 15:30.

The Super Eagles players were having an in-house meeting as the press conference was ongoing.

According to Allnigeriasoccer, a source confirmed that the reason why the players are having a meeting and one player did not show up at the press conference is because funds supposed to be credited to their accounts on Monday is being delayed by the Nigerian Federation.

It has been suggested that the money has been approved but the players have not received the payments due to bank issues.

The players are angry and disappointed with the Federation, and that's why a nominated player refused to come for the press conference.

The three-time African champions are scheduled to train at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport on Tuesday afternoon, starting from 1630 hours.

SportsPogba Set To Pocket 'loyalty' Bonus Of £3.78M From Manunited Despite Madrid Move by queenonyebiri1(op): 11:45am On Jun 19, 2019
Paul Pogba will receive an astonishing £3.78million (N1.7billion) loyalty bonus from Manchester United, despite claiming it might be time to leave Old Trafford in search of a 'new challenge'.
Pogba's bumper pay-out is due on July 1, just two weeks after he made the startling admission about his future while on a promotional visit to Tokyo.

The unsettled Frenchman's loyalty payment has gone up from the £3.46m (N1.5billion) he received last year under the terms of his five-year contract at United.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola — who banked £41m (N18.6bn) from the player's then world record £89m (N40bn) return to Old Trafford in 2016 — has been in talks over a move to Real Madrid and his old club Juventus this summer.

Spain is thought to be Pogba's preferred destination and Madrid believe it would take a bid in the region of £150m (N68bn) to bring United to the table.

United maintain that the 26-year-old World Cup winner is not for sale and expect him to be playing for them next season. Pogba is under contract until 2021 and the club have the option to extend it by a further 12 months.

United wouldn't comment on Pogba's loyalty bonus on Tuesday night but some fans may feel the payment is undeserved in light of his comments in Japan at the weekend.

SportsMourinho Drops Huge Hint About His Next Job Amid Chelsea Links by queenonyebiri1(op): 11:29am On Jun 19, 2019
Speculation over who will replace Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea will continue right up until the point that a decision is made.

Frank Lampard is the overwhelming favourite to replace the Italian at Stamford Bridge, after just one year in management with Derby County.

But the Championship side have yet to receive an offer for their manager, and will stand firm over the £4million (N1.8billion) compensation package they will demand should the Blues come calling.

A number of former Chelsea managers have been linked with a return to the club - namely Jose Mourinho and Rafael Benitez.

Blues legend Tony Cascarino even suggested that Mourinho could come in as an advisor to Lampard, should he be given the job, although he did suggest this was unlikely.

And Mourinho has delivered an update on his managerial future - suggesting any links with Chelsea are purely speculation.

The Portuguese hasn't managed since he was sacked by Manchester United last December, spending much of his time doing punditry work for BeIn Sport.

But he is keen to return to management now.

Speaking to Eleven Sports, Mourinho said about his future:

I think about the World Cup and the European Championships.

For a long time I have had the desire to try out such an adventure.

Right now, I see myself more at a national team than with a new club.

Is Portugal the right team for me? Not necessarily.
