The players were scheduled to travel back home on Tuesday morning (today) but missed their flight after refusing to leave their hotel until they get their bonuses. Antonio Conte has been named Inter Milan new boss, replacing the sacked Luciano Spalletti. The 49-year-old returns to work in Italy after being dismissed by Chelsea at the end of last season. He spent two years at Stamford Bridge, where he won the Premier League and FA Cup, having previously claimed three Serie A titles as boss of Juventus. Under Spalletti, Inter finished fourth in the league and qualified for the Champions League. The former Juventus and Italy midfielder told the Italian club official website: A new chapter in my life is beginning, I'm really excited. Through my work, I'll try to repay all of the trust that the President and directors have placed in me. I have chosen Inter because of the Club it is, because of the project's sound basis and how ambitious it is. Because of Inter's history. Winning Wednesday's Europa League final would be worth at least £90million (N40.9billion) to Arsenal - even if they don't advance beyond next season's UEFA Champions League group stage. In an illustration of how qualifying for the Champions League sets a booster rocket beneath clubs' earnings, the Gunners would earn as much from simply participating in it next season than winning this season's Europa League. Though victory over Chelsea in Baku would come with the prestige of a trophy, the incentive of an automatic place in the 2019-20 Champions League is just as strong. Arsenal stand to pocket around £43.4m (N19.7bn) in prize money if they defeat their London rivals and that would rise to £47.5m (N21.59bn) if they beat either Liverpool or Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul on August 14. But simply appearing in the group stage of next season's Champions League would see Arsenal almost double their money, with over £20m (N9bn) television money, a hefty coefficient payment and a 'starting fee' of £13.4m (N6bn) just for participating. If Arsenal were to replicate their Europa League group stage record of five wins and one draw from this season in next season's Champions League, they would add another £21m (N9.5bn). Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly in contention to succeed Ernesto Valverde as the next manager of Barcelona. Valverde's future has been called into question following a run of three losses in five matches to conclude the 2018-19 campaign, including defeats in the Champions League semi-final and the Copa del Rey final. Mundo Deportivo claims that Barca chief Josep Maria Bartomeu will make an announcement in the coming days, with his decision possibly being determined by the strength of the candidates available to replace the 55-year-old. Belgium manager Roberto Martinez is rumoured to be the surprise leading contender to take charge at Camp Nou should Barcelona bring an end to Valverde's two-year tenure, while Emery is also being considered, despite a mixed first campaign at Arsenal. Departing Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri, Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman and Laurent Blanc, formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, are the other rumoured names in the frame. https://www.queensmail.com/2019/05/arsenal-boss-emery-contender-to-replace.html Source: QUEENSMAIL.COM

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Naby Keita 'has no chance' of being available for Liverpool's UEFA Champions League final clash with Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old suffered an adductor injury in the Reds' 3-0 defeat against Barcelona on May 1 and has not been used since. However, Keita travelled to Marbella with the rest of his teammates last week to take part in a warm-weather training camp, giving hope that he would be available for Saturday's showdown in Madrid. Liverpool boss Klopp has ruled the Guinea international out of contention, though, telling reporters at Tuesday's press conference: [There is] no chance for Naby Roberto Firmino is in line to start against Spurs next weekend, meanwhile, having recovered from a muscle strain that has ruled him out of Liverpool's last three matches. https://www.queensmail.com/2019/05/liverpool-bosss-klopp-confirms-naby.html Source: QUEENSMAIL.COM

Barcelona could reportedly be prepared to sell Luis Suarez in this summer's transfer window. Suarez joined the Catalan giants from Liverpool in 2014 and has scored 177 goals in 247 appearances in all competitions, winning four La Liga titles, four Copa del Rey crowns and one Champions League during his time at Camp Nou. The 32-year-old contributed 25 goals in all competitions during the 2018-19 season but was forced to miss Barca's last three La Liga matches and the Copa del Rey final after undergoing knee surgery. Manchester City are reportedly preparing to offer manager Pep Guardiola a new five-year contract worth around £100m (N45.9bn). Guardiola has established City as the dominant force in English football during his three-year reign at the Etihad Stadium, winning back-to-back English Premier League titles and leading his side to an unprecedented domestic treble this season. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich head coach still has two years remaining on his current deal, but Man City are eager to tie him down for longer and the Daily Mail reports that they are preparing fresh terms which would keep him at the club until 2024. The proposed contract would see Guardiola's annual salary rise from £15m (N6.9bn) per year to £20m (N9bn), which Man City hope will be enough to stave off interest from Juventus. Guardiola has never stayed at a club for longer than four years in his managerial career - his stint with Barcelona from 2008 to 2012 - but recently insisted that he is committed to at least seeing out the final two years of his current deal. After clinching the English Premier League title away at Brighton, Pep Guardiola expected business as usual when he arrived at Manchester City's training ground on the Monday morning. City cruised to a 4-1 win on the final day to beat Liverpool to the league title by a single point and for many at the club it was a weekend dominated by title celebrations following a long season. And according to the Times, as Guardiola arrived for his usual Monday morning breakfast, the Catalan could not be served as the cook was too hungover to come in. After the 4-1 win over Brighton, Guardiola gave his title-winning players the Monday off, so staff at City's training base did not expect anyone to be around, particularly not the manager. But the report reveals that Guardiola had agreed to meet City directors Txiki Begiristain and Manuel Estiarte for breakfast - it was a meeting that they undertook every Monday morning. Ferran Soriano, the chief executive, is a regular attendee but he was away on business. One staff member, who was on duty at the facility, frantically called the first-team chef, but he was said to be exhausted having celebrated Sunday's title win on the south coast. 'I'm too hungover,' he said down the line, according to the Times, leaving the member of staff to rustle up some eggs on her own for the trio. Jose Mourinho says his struggles at Manchester United were down to the "players, organisation and ambition" of the club as he denied suggestions Paul Pogba was to blame for his sacking. Mourinho was axed as United boss back in December following a dismal run of results and a public falling out with record signing Paul Pogba. Although the Red Devils’ form picked up once Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as his replacement, their performances dipped again toward the end of the season and they ended up finishing sixth in the English Premier League. And when asked whether Pogba was the biggest problem at Old Trafford in an interview with French paper L'Equipe, Mourinho offered a definitive analysis about the deep-rooted issues at the club. Asked by L'Equipe if he was a victim of Pogba, Mourinho said: No, no. The problems are there, you can imagine that the problems are the players, the organisation, the ambition. I will only say that I cannot say 'yes' when you ask if Paul was the only one responsible. I said nine or 10 months ago that after winning eight championships, finishing second with United may have been my greatest achievement. Now people understand. I do not always do my analysis publicly on Manchester United. I do not want to talk about it and I have the feeling that I do not need to speak, that time gives explanations. About United I want to say only two things: One is that time has spoken. Two is that the problems are still there. The supporters of Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune appear to have got their wish after manager Chris Coleman was sacked. A banner reading 'Hello Mr Coleman, please go home! You're fired" appeared in the stands during a 3-2 home defeat by Henan Jianye which left the club second from bottom of the table. Coleman, 48, had endured a torrid start to life in China with Hebei winning once, drawing twice and losing six times in their opening nine games, leaving them in the relegation zone. Barcelona star Lionel Messi has reportedly named the three players who we wants the club to get rid of this summer. This comes after the Spanish champions were dumped out of the Champions League by Liverpool at the semi-final stage on Tuesday. The Catalans had led 3-0 going into the second leg at Anfield but a 4-0 reversal saw them bow out 4-3 on aggregate. Ernesto Valverde’s men continue to extend their domestic domination after claiming another La Liga title and could lift the Copa del Rey in a couple of weeks. But the former Athletic Bilbao boss’ obsession is with winning the Champions League - something that has been a failure in Catalonia for the last four seasons. Messi is locked on four Champions League wins in his career while Ronaldo has five after winning the competition in four of the previous five years. And another season of failure has led to drastic measures, according to Spanish publication Sport. Messi has now asked Barcelona to get rid of Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti. Neymar has been banned for three games, with two more suspended, by the French Football Federation following an investigation into his altercation with a spectator after Paris Saint-Germain's Coupe de France final defeat to Rennes. Neymar, who appeared to hit a member of the crowd while on his way to collect his runner-up medal after the defeat on penalties, could have faced a ban of up to eight matches for the incident. The punishment means the Brazil international will miss PSG's final home game of the season against Dijon, the campaign-ending trip to Reims and the Trophee des Champions against Rennes in China in August. PSG have yet to comment on Neymar's suspension. He was banned for three European games for insulting match officials on social media after PSG were eliminated from the tournament by Manchester United and will miss half the group stage next season. Eden Hazard is on the verge of agreeing personal terms with Real Madrid after lengthy negotiations between the club and the player’s representatives, according to a report. Hazard, who has 12 months remaining on his contract at Chelsea, is determined to join Madrid this summer and has rebuffed the Blues’ attempts to make him the highest paid player in English Premier League history. The Independent reports that negotiations have not been altogether smooth but with the summer window drawing nearer both camps are keen to reach a resolution and increase the likelihood of any deal being passed in the summer. Chelsea will play hardball over Hazard and demand a fee of £100m (N46.7bn), but with his contract ticking down the club’s hand is limited and they have reluctantly accepted that the Belgian looks set to leave after seven years in west London. Danny Rose says he cannot wait to see the back of football because of the racism which blights the modern game. The Tottenham defender, who was among the England players targeted with racist abuse in Montenegro last week, hit out at the ruling bodies for failing to tackle the problem. He branded the current situation a 'farce' and does not expect it to change when football's authorities continually fail to punish the offenders. Rose said: "I've had enough. At the minute, I programme myself to think, "I've got five or six more years left in football and I just can't wait to see the back of it". Seeing how things are done in the game at the minute, I just want to get out of it. That's how I feel. I've five or six more years left and I just want to enjoy football as much as I can. There's so much politics and whatever in football and I just can't wait to see the back of it, to be honest." Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has added to his extensive tattoo collection with a lion, eagle and gloved hands inked onto his back. Below is an eagle to the left, dragon on the right and then some goalkeeper hands catching a football above a very detailed image of a lion's head. Ederson's back was still slightly red after the final session to tattoo the lastest designs Inch by inch, the 25-year-old seems to be covering his whole body. As part of their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria U17s on Wednesday beat Kaduna based Mutunchi Academy 7-0 in a friendly played at the Abuja National Stadium. Two days earlier they struggled to a 1-0 victory over John Utaka Football Academy. With less than three weeks to the start of the competition in Tanzania, Golden Eaglets coach Manu Garba says without the conduct of the MRI test, he cannot say he has a team yet. Manu Garba said: Obviously we have players who have not got the opportunity to play that can make the team to Tanzania, that is after the MRI. We don't know who is who now until after the MRI has been conducted, why I didn't give those new players a chance to play is the fact that all the players that played today for us have passed the MRI before and we are sure at least 90 percent will go to Tanzania. I must say that there are a lot of players that can displace some of the players that played today. This team can only get stronger with the inclusion of those players I'm talking about especially in the offensive and midfield sector. We have submitted our list to the Federation, we are just waiting for the Federation to give us the date but it appears we are getting behind time because we are expected to submit a provisional list of 25 players two weeks before the first game. We have more than 20 players that are capable of displacing some of the players on ground, like I said earlier it's MRI that will decide first. Remember before we went to Niger, we had several unverified players and we don't know if they are going to be retained. That's why we want the MRI to be done, so that we can know the players we have on ground, the MRI is really holding the team. The MRI tests are expected to cost the Nigerian Federation around N4 million and the NFF are well known for giving less attention to the junior national teams. https://www.queensmail.com/2019/03/2019-u17-afcon-eaglets-boss-manu-garba.html Source: QUEENSMAIL.COM

Barcelona are prepared to sell Philippe Coutinho this summer. Sport says Coutinho hasn't adapted to Ernesto Valverde's system, and he's not working well in an inside position. Selling the player won't be easy though, and he will not be let leave for anything under €100m (N40.7bn). With Ajax whiz Frenkie de Jong awaiting his move, the club are aware that Coutinho needs to move on. Ivan Rakitic has also been considered something of a makeweight, but they would rather see Coutinho leave and see his exit as more probable, knowing they can sell him for more than the 32-year-old Croatian. Manchester United and Arsenal have been touted as possible destinations, though his relationship with Neymar makes Paris Saint-Germain another he could join. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed the quality of football in the Premier League was exactly as he expected when he signed for Manchester United – overrated. After leaving his native Sweden, Ibrahimovic played four seasons in the Netherlands' Eredivisie, seven seasons in Italy's Serie A, four seasons in France's Ligue 1 and a year in Spain's La Liga, winning 12 domestic titles in total. The 116-cap Sweden international finally made the move to the English top flight in July 2016, aged 34, and he explained how he anticipated he would need to adjust to the Premier League. Ibrahimovic netted 17 goals in 28 games during his first season at Old Trafford and the striker, now at LA Galaxy in the United States' Major League Soccer, can only imagine what would have happened had he arrived in Manchester 10 years earlier. Ibrahimovic, who slammed Manchester United legends, told the Mirror: "It was exactly like I thought it was. It was very hyped, it was very intense, the pace was very high, it was good but the quality is a bit over-rated. "Over-rated from a technical point of view. But it is high pace and intense and if you cannot handle those two things, you cannot survive. "I don’t regret not having longer in the Premier League. I think everything that happens was meant to happen. "The only thing is imagine if I came 10 years before I came. It would be a different story. But I am more sorry for the fans for not coming earlier because they would have seen a different animal." Zlatan Ibrahimovic didn’t hold back with his thoughts on Manchester United’s famed Class of ’92 and the constant public criticisms of how the club has been performing in the post-Ferguson era. The famed group of United legends, which included David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes, helped lead the club to new heights, winning a number of trophies under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson. Even after their departures, the group is still very much associated with the club, with several routinely analysing the team in their role as pundits on the television. The Swedish super star slammed the group and keep taking shots at how the club is run. He urged them to instead accept a job at the club if they want things to change, instead of ‘complaining on TV’ incessantly. Ibrahimovic told the Daily Mirror: "They are not there any more. They are on TV and complaining all the time because they are not active in the club. "If you want to work in the club, go and search for work in the club. "So you cannot be on TV and always complaining and criticising. Yeah, okay, you’ve had your time, we know it." Ibrahimovic had a close relationship with Jose Mourinho, who regularly came under fire from the famed group. https://www.queensmail.com/2019/03/go-and-get-job-so-you-cant-be-on-tv.html Source: QUEENSMAIL.COM

Manchester United boss Solskjaer is furious seeing his image used by a betting company for promotion. Solskjaer has told NRK the matter is with his lawyers after learning Paddy Power had used his image without permission. A devout Christian, Solskjaer snapped: "If there is anything I should not have anything to do with, it is a betting company. They are going to have big problems with me. What I promise you it will be sent in by my lawyer. That they are going to look at this is a hundred percent certain." Indeed, Solskjaer's lawyer Erik Flagan says the English business community has long known the Norwegian's stand. He said: "This case has been handled by our English partner for many years. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has agreed terms with Juventus, it is being claimed in Italy. According to Italian journalist Luigi Guelpa, Guardiola is so keen on a move to Turin that he has given the club his word and agreed in principal to sign a four-year deal. Guelpa claims his information has come from the same source who last summer broke the news that Cristiano Ronaldo was leaving Real Madrid for Juve. Guelpa told Radio CRC: "I've learned that Pep Guardiola already has reached a verbal agreement with Juventus for the next four years. It's the same person who told me that Ronaldo was going to Juventus. John Obi Mikel has advised players under the age of 30 to think twice before considering an offer from Chinese clubs that they should not be tempted by the money. Chinese teams are luring outstanding players from top European Leagues by offering them huge financial incentives, and Mikel cashed in when he ended his more than ten-year association with Chelsea in January 2017. After only two years in China, Mikel mutually terminated his contract with Tianjin Teda in the winter transfer market, citing the need to be closer to his family as the reason for his decision, before penning a short-term deal with Middlesbrough. He said: "My advice to anyone thinking about going has a long think about it, you have to go at the right time. "I certainly wouldn’t say to anyone under the age of 30 to go there, they will regret it if they do. "It’s worth doing for a couple of years if only to learn a different culture, to give yourself an experience that takes you out of your comfort zone, but do not be tempted by the money if you are young. "Do your research, check what sort of club you are going to over there. "You should wait until you are approaching the end of your career, the money makes the move tempting, we’re only human, but do not be tempted by the size of the cheque if you are in the prime of your career, It’s not worth it." Maurizio Sarri will take charge of Chelsea’s Europa League match at home against Malmo on Thursday and is set to continue as manager for the Carabao Cup final on Sunday but defeat by Manchester City at Wembley could lead to his dismissal. The 6-0 defeat at City this month and the FA Cup exit against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Monday night have left Sarri clinging to his job after less than a season. A decision on his future will be taken by Roman Abramovich. The owner appointed Sarri and will choose whether to continue with him, rather than assigning that decision to Marina Granovskaia, the director who oversees much of Chelsea’s day-to-day business. Abramovich has not attended a game this season. On Monday Chelsea fans turned on Sarri in large numbers, chanting “f**k Sarri-ball” and eventually joining in with the United supporters’ refrain of “You’re getting sacked in the morning”. Chelsea take a 2-1 lead into the second leg of their Europa League last-32 match against Malmo. If Sarri survives the weekend he faces a English Premier League game at home against Tottenham next Wednesday. https://www.queensmail.com/2019/02/chelsea-boss-sarri-could-face-sack-if.html Source: QUEENSMAIL.COM
