PoliticsDreaded Militants Join IPOB, Orders FG To Release Nnamdi Kanu - Zubby Blog by queentell(op):
A dreaded militant group in the Niger Delta region, the Egbesu Water Lions has warned the Federal Government of Nigeria to release the Radio Director of Biafra and the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd.) in the next seven (7) days without
hesitation and unconditionally.
In a statement by General Torunanawei Latei, who is a Creek Network Coordinator, the dreaded body further asked the Federal Government to direct the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to restore the accounts of Chief Government Ekpemupolo (a.k.a) Tompolo within the
same period or else they are going to shut down every oil and gas activities in the region.

“Federal government approached Chief Tompolo for his land to be used
as Maritime University and he sold his land to the government based on
agreement, humanly what is wrong in that for someone to sell what
belongs to him, is it a crime in Nigeria now?

“It is also extremely important to note that the engine room of the
National interest is the Executive obedience to COURT ORDERS and
protection and preservation of the citizens’ constitutional liberties.
Justification of executive disobedience to court orders as a
protection of national interest is abominable.
It is also a deliberate ploy to bend the law and suspension of the
1999 constitution. Federal government disobedience to court decisions is one of the dimensions of corruption and seen as gross abuse of office, contrary to section 15 (5) of the 1999 constitution.
“We ask, is President Muhammadu Buhari has any legal capacity to
declare anyone as a criminal? Disobedience to court orders is an act of executive rascalities in the country.

PoliticsEFCC Raids Ex-customs Boss Residence, Searches For Money - Zubby Blog by queentell(op): 8:30am On Jan 09, 2016
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday invaded the residence of the immediate past Comptroller General of Customs, Abdulahi Dikko, in Abuja.

The EFCC operatives stormed Dikko’s residence with two white Toyota buses marked RSH 555 ABJ and BWA 645 GA at Ahmed Musa Crescent, Jabi, Abuja.

This, it was gathered, was the second time in three days that the EFCC personnel would invade a residence of the former Customs boss as the agency was said to have searched his house at Maitama on Wednesday.

It was learnt that the search might not be unconnected with the Federal Government’s investigation into revenue generating agencies, including Customs and Nigerian Maritime Administration Agency over non-remittance of revenues into government coffers.

A top official of the EFCC confided in Saturday PUNCH that operatives who searched the two houses were specifically directed to look out for a large sums of dollars allegedly kept in the residences.

On Friday, an operational van of the Nigerian Customs Service on guard duty at the resident was sighted a few meters away from the besieged residence.

Our correspondent observed a heavy deployment of security operatives comprising armed riot policemen attached to the EFCC and gun-wielding plainclothes operatives.

Some of the armed operatives took positions at the gate of Dikko’s residence, while their counterparts were discussing in groups. Our correspondent could not confirm whether Dikko was in the residence or not as of the time the EFCC stormed the place.

But a relative of the ex-customs boss, Mohammed Usman, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the EFCC operatives arrived at the residence at about 7am.

PoliticsDickson Desperate To Win But I Will Stop Him– Sylva - Zubby Blog by queentell(op): 9:03am On Jan 06, 2016
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Bayelsa State governorship election, Chief Timipre Sylva, has described the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Governor Seriake Dickson, as an embattled, desperate and divisive person.

The former governor, who was reacting to Dickson’s press conference on Monday where he referred to Sylva as a violent politician, spoke through the Director of Media and Publicity, Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organisation, Chief Nathan Egba.

Dickson had said, “The party, the APC, is desperate. Their candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva, is desperate. I hear they want to expand their empire across the Atlantic.

“Although Sylva is my friend and brother, I do not like his brand of politics of violence. I will roundly defeat him (Sylva) and the APC again and again.”

But Sylva, in his reaction, said even before he (Dickson) uttered the first sentence, anybody that was familiar with his public speeches since last year could guess fairly and accurately the things, if not the exact words he would use.

He said the governor had no other issue to discuss other than that Sylva and the APC perpetrated violence and used security agencies, the Presidency and other top federal officials to influence the outcome of the election.

Sylva stated, “In the same breadth, he is claiming an unassailable lead, according to him, having won in six out of seven local government areas results so far declared and that he has the total support of the people of the Southern Ijaw LGA.

“At this point, one really wonders why he is still embattled and running from pillar to post, holding press briefings and radio broadcasts almost on a daily basis. Why did he go to beg the Presidency to be allowed to win in the Southern Ijaw LGA in return for defecting to the APC?

“Bayelsa State has never had a more deceitful, dictatorial, wasteful and divisive governor such as Seriake Dickson, such that instead of campaigning on a pan-Bayelsa platform, Dickson has set about whipping up core-Ijaw and non-core-Ijaw ethnic sentiments within this small Bayelsa State.”

PoliticsThe 7 Months Doctrine By Salihu Ayatullahi - Zubby Blog by queentell(op): 8:38am On Jan 05, 2016
Being a political sycophant is more, or less, being an idle being, why should you shout, injure and kill yourselves because of a politician, who don't and wouldn't want to know you!, Those were my thought whenever i saw people contending on political issues but with time, after carefully observing for about six consecutive months, i saw the need to refract my mentality about this political thought to one more germane to the country's present situation.

In no time i came up with a new thinking epistemic of which the one am about to talk on belongs, Is it Perceptible by the senses to 'judge' a man, repairing 16 (SIXTEEN) consecutive years 'DAMAGES', within 7 (Seven) months? well! it may mean nothing to sycophants of the opposition parties! but for me and other cognizant Nigerians, we believed and will continue believing, the change mantra of the current administration! Even though to every political administration there should be critic and condemnation but should it shouldn't, in extent, be more than the eulogise and commendation! Pointing out some few things which have change during this said seven (7) useless MONTHS! will convince the reader's comprehension! 1.

Security: Boko haram being the 'main' security threat in the country is technically defeated; (note the word technically), our gallants troop are making victory over the sect; but there is no way an injured dog wouldn't bake back, that's the issue of the recent attack which signify victory! 2.Corruption reduced drastically! 3.Reduction of ministers and appointing himself as the petroleum minister; because of Nigeria economic state! 4.implementation of (TSA) to reduce corruption in public services! And host of others. If all these are implemented within THE SAID 'SEVEN USELESS MONTHS'; THEN WE NEED MORE OF THIS USELESS MONTHS! President Muhammadu Buhari.

Two suspected pipeline vandals, who were arrested weekend in Isolo area of Lagos by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Anti Pipeline Vandalisation Unit, have alleged that soldiers aided them to load their truck in a creek in Ijedodo area of Lagos.

The suspects, Moshood Jubril 40 and Friday Joseph 37 were arrested at the verge of conveying a 33,000 truck laden with the siphoned petroleum product to Ibadan, Oyo state ,where a petrol station owner was waiting to receive the product. While Joseph, driver of the truck with plate number XA 898 ABC drove ahead, Jubril, an escort, reportedly drove behind in a Toyota Camry car with plate number AAA 208 DU.

Explaining how they were arrested, the officer in charge of the Unit, Mr. Valentine Olumese said when information on activities of pipeline vandals reached him, he directed the Lagos State sector commander to go on their trail.
The vandals according to him, were trailed right from Ijedodo to Isolo where Joseph was accosted.

When asked to produce the bill of laden, he (Joseph ) reportedly told the operatives that his colleague, Jubril was with it, unknown to him that Jubril had been arrested .

I get N300,000 for each trip —Joseph
In his confessional statement, Joseph said “We work for one Timothy, owner of the truck. But our major receiver is in Ibadan. He owns a filling station. We bought the product for N85 per litre and intended to sell it at N120 in Ibadan.

“Timothy is the owner of the Toyota Corolla. He bought it as an escort vehicle. He pays me N300,000 at the end of any successful trip while the escort gets N50,000. On this day, we set out with the truck from Ibadan. We stormed Ijedodo, where one Ann, girlfriend to one of the commanders in the creeks, called TK, collected the money for the product on behalf of T.K.

“As we set out in the bush, we saw some soldiers who asked where we were going. We told them we were going to carry out repairs on the truck. They followed us. Out of fear, we told them that we were going to the creeks and they led us there. On reaching the creeks, they (soldiers) brought out a power generating set and a hose.

PoliticsAllow Me Enjoy Bail Granted To Me By Federal High Court Dasuki Tells Buhari by queentell(op): 10:52am On Jan 01, 2016
Former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki, yesterday pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to allow him enjoy the bail granted him by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Meanwhile, lawyers yesterday took divergent positions on Buhari’s explanation of the continued detention of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki and pro-Biafra agitator, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu despite different court orders admitting them to bail.

Buhari said during his first presidential media chat on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) on Wednesday that Dasuki and Kanu could not be released because they would jump bail, describing the charges against them as serious.

Speaking with Daily Sun on the development yesterday, counsel to Dasuki, Alhaji Ahmed Raji (SAN), said: “I would want to appeal to Mr. President to please allow my client to enjoy the bail that was granted to him. I want to beg him in the name of God. I cannot join words with the president. I have the greatest respect for him, both in his official and personal capacities. My appeal is just that I am begging him in the name of God to allow my client to enjoy his bail.”

But former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Prince Lanke Odogiyan said Buhari’s stand was a manifestation of dictatorship.
The president’s refusal to release Dasuki and Kanu, he warned, was a slide into lawlessness. He urged the NBA, human rights organisations and other non-governmental groups to call the president to order to prevent the nation from sliding into anarchy.

His words: “It’s disobedience of court order and if it’s not checked, it can lead to consequences beyond our imaginations. It’s a manifestation of dictatorial tendencies and it should not be encouraged. The president must be advised by his legal handlers. If he is not satisfied with an order of court, the appropriate thing to do is to appeal. But he can’t disobey it, he can’t ignore it.

PoliticsDasuki's Wife Begs DSS To Arrest Her So That She Can See Her Husband by queentell(op): 6:28pm On Dec 31, 2015
There was a mild drama at the headquarters of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) on Tuesday night when the wife to the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki begged top officials of the agency not to allow her husband die in custody.

She and other relations had waited patiently for Dasuki to meet the last peg of his bail conditions, a surety with about N250million property.
But immediately Dasuki was released at the prison, he was re-arrested by the DSS.
After several hours of trying to locate her husband, she returned to the DSS office and demanded for him or in the alternative, she should be locked up with him.
She reportedly said:
Quote
“Nigerians should help me beg the Federal Government, the DSS and other agencies to release my husband who did his best to serve this nation. He is ill, he needs medical attention, he is not pretending. I implore the DSS not to allow him to die in custody.
“I saw my husband and I felt dejected. He is not just well. Nigerians should assist him to get a reprieve. We(myself, the children and relations) are all destabilised. We don’t know what is happening because three courts have granted him bail. Why are they after him? Let those concerned respect the court by releasing my husband.

“There is no way my husband will run away from the country under any guise. They should please follow the rule of law and uphold his right to bail.”

A source said Dasuki’s wife was allowed to see her husband.
Quote
“We have followed the rule of law , the ex-NSA is in safe custody. He was once in DSS custody and he was never maltreated and he had access to medicare,”

the source said.
A judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Justice Peter Affen last Wednesday banned the EFCC from re-arresting Dasuki, ex-Minister Bashir Yuguda, former Director of Finance at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Shuaibu Salisu, Sagir Attahiru and former Governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa.

President Muhammadu Buhari has given reasons why his government has refused to release a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and the coordinator of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, despite several court directives.
Mr. Dasuki, who is facing trial for allegedly diverting and sharing over $2.2 billion dollars meant for arms procurement for the anti-Boko Haram war, to politicians and cronies, was on Wednesday re-arrested by the State Security Service after he had been granted bail by three different courts.
Mr. Kanu, who is spearheading the quest for an independent nation of Biafra, was earlier granted bail by a Federal high Court sitting in Abuja, but he was also re-arrested by the SSS, which slammed a fresh charge of treasonable felony against him.

Speaking during his first presidential media chat at the presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr. Buhari said the two accused persons cannot be allowed to enjoy any form of freedom due to the enormity of their offenses.

“”If you see the atrocities these people committed against this country, we can’t allow them to jump bail,” he said.

Mr. Buhari said Mr. Dasuki was simply sharing government’s money the way he liked.

“They would just say to Central Bank give so and so, 40 billion naira just like that; 40 billion,” he said.

Kaduna based renowned Islamic scholar, Dr Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, yesterday reflected on the recent deadly between the Nigerian Army and Islamic Movement in Nigeria, also known as Shi’ites in Zaria, saying he had earlier warned the sect’s leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky against blocking the highways during Arbaeen.

He said the Shiite leader had been running a parallel government in most parts of the North in the past 40 years just as he described the confrontation between the movement and security forces over two weeks ago as ‘divine intervention’ to prevent what he termed a catastrophe in the mould of Boko Haram.
The Islamic scholar, who expressed these views in a chat with reporters in Kaduna yesterday, alleged that the Shi’ites had been undergoing military training and producing military cadets and soldiers, adding: “They are operating a state within a state”.
According to Sheikh Gumi.

Quote
: “The Islamic Movement of Nigeria does not recognise the corporate entity of Nigeria and the group is not registered, they operate above the law and they get direct foreign aid”.“Former President Umaru Yar’Adua had told me of the massive importation of ammunitions and weapons to different parts of the country, the president had mentioned Iran as supplying arms to the Shittes.

PoliticsReasons Why We Are Agitating For Biafra- MASSOB by queentell(op): 3:52pm On Dec 29, 2015
New leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Solomon Chukwu has given reasons groups are agitating for self-rule in the South East. He said the fact that the people from the eastern region could not find peace in Nigeria was the major reason MASSOB is agitating for a state of Biafra.

Chukwu, who spoke through MASSOB’s National Director of Information, Sunny Okereafor said it was better for Nigeria to stay apart and survive than to be together and perish in the process.

Chukwu, a native of Ikwere in Rivers State, restated the determination of the people from the East to have a state of their own. He also said the people of the Niger Delta area and South East are part of Biafra, and remain committed to its actualisation.

He dismissed reports that the people of South South states like Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and Cross River are not Biafrans, adding that the former eastern region has refused to be deceived by what he described as Federal Government’s divide and rule policy.
“Anybody who says Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and Cross River states are not part of Biafra is deceiving himself. These are Biafran territories. Biafra encompasses all the states of the former eastern region, including Anioma clan in Delta State.
