Easier said than done. Tinubu is obviously overwhelmed by the current situation on ground. His mentality from onset was that it was his turn to be president. He never sat down to analyse the problems and challenges of ruling this country.
Even the removal of subsidy on his 1st day in office was spontaneous. He neither thought about the far-reaching consequences nor thought about proactive measures to cushion the effect of the FS removal. |

He once swore to Ojukwu that he will never leave APGA for PDP. He declared religious war but currently donating borehole and breaking fast with almajiri. He is a politician afterall and understands the game. Nobody is arguing about Obi being a Politician. But was Tinubu himself (not even his supporters) not Bitter and Angry when he declared that he did not believe in One Nigeria and called for a Revolution?

HilcomTech: A good candidate can never ever emerge from SE because they are neither intelligent or emotionally mature for the task of leading a multi religious and multicultural country like Nigeria.
Merit and excellence were never considered by SE when they voted because they voted the worst presidential candidate in the history of Nigeria in the person of Obi. Only a mad person will vote for a man like Obi threatening religious war. Only a demented person will vote such a bitter, hateful, corrupt and incompetent liar like Obi
Nigeria will make meaningful progress even though SE work against us. We have defeated before and we will continue to defeat them |

Our fundamental problem in this country is that Ethnic Interests are considered ahead of National Interests.
Even if a messiah emerges from Igbo, some Nigerians will rather vote a dunce who is their tribesman. Even if the president is running the country aground, they are OK because the president is their tribesman. This is not directed at one tribe - all the tribes are guilty.
Merit and Excellence have been sacrificed on the altar of Nepotism and Quota System.
Nigeria can not make any meaningful progress like this. The earlier we tell ourselves the truth and act on it, the better. 🤔 |

ONE NIGERIA remains a Scam. Nobody including President Tinubu believes in One Nigeria. Everybody is just out to grab from the centre and to satisfy his selfish or sectional interest.

LastProphet: Livestock development is a big deal in Nigeria, it will reduce the conflicts between farmers and herders as far as the agency will be run for the good of everybody. It's normal to create special agencies for issues like this The solution to conflicts between farmers and herders is to ban Open Grazing and encourage Ranching. That's how it is done in civilised countries. The creation of a new ministry for Cattle development when we already have Ministry of Agriculture, is a political move by Tinubu to pacify those Northern cattle rearers. |

Most Nigerians especially those in power, don't know or at least don't act like they know the meaning of Democracy.
Democracy is Government of the People by the People for the People. Democracy is all about the People meaning those in power should be Servants to the People.
So Cutting of Coat should be done first and even more by those in power. |

nairalanda1: Maybe, but the problem with the oil sector always has been selling petrol below what it costs to make it, or what it costs to import it.
Subsidizing petrol is a very expensive thing. That's the real reason why protests don't work. Even the famous 2012 protests did not work because at the end fuel prices still rose... because subsidy costs in 2011 were thrice that in 2010. If GEJ had not removed subsidy partially, by 2014 he would have been using the entire budget to pay for subsidy. And, that is not funny.
Even if we protested now, and tinubu listened and set prices at 100 naira, subsidy costs would exceed 1000 per liter. Over 70% of our budget would go to paying subsidy. The resultant deficit would need loans to cover. More loans. Already the subsidy we have now is forcing govt to take more loans.
Not everything is tribe. If obi was president today, the same issue would be there.
All in all, you sell at a loss, problems start. In 1984 government was forcing people to sell sugar , milk and bread at knock down price to help the poor. Result, people selling could not make a profit to buy new stock, scarcity resulted. We don't have that today because subsequent governments did not repeat that mistake Protests is not a Solution, but it's an indication that there are serious issues that need to be addressed by Govt. The problems of Nigeria are beyond Obi or any single individual, as long as Tribal, Religious and Sectional interests are prioritised over National Interests. Apart from those who believe Obi would have made a better President (arguable), the clamour for Obi was also for Sectional interests - to give S/East sense of inclusiveness in National affairs. Agreed, prices of goods & services in a free Capitalist Economy ought to be determined by forces of Demand & Supply, but the consequences in Nigeria would be dire for a commodity like Fuel. But fundamentally, Nigerians owe far greater allegiance to their Ethnicity than Nationality, and are not ready to unite to build a Nation. I rest my case. |

You sell something at 720 that cost you 1000 naira to bring in, and you don't expect there to be issues? Tribalism is the single reason why protests have not erupted across the country. |
