CelebritiesRe: More Clearer Photos From Tomi Ashimolowo Church Wedding by quiverfull(m): 1:18pm On Jul 30, 2014
@Op, please remove the "more" from the topic; the word "clear" already has "er", hence, adding the word "more" makes the topic grammatically incorrect.
Nice pictures though.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan, Alison-madueke, Okonjo-iweala Involved In NNPC Diversion Of $50 Billio by quiverfull(m): 6:13pm On Dec 10, 2013
I look at the way some of those Nothern governors disrespect Jonathan openly, and it shows they know how utterly corrupt he is. Tambuwal has the balls to openly accuse the president of corruption. Now Sanusi has opened the real DRUM of worms. I want to see how Jonathan will survive this.
Christianity EtcRe: Does Nigeria Have A Pastor(living Or Dead) Like Mandela? by quiverfull(m): 5:19pm On Dec 10, 2013
Pastor Tunde Bakare comes close...a man that has spoken out against every oppressive government in the last 20 years, from IBB, to Abacha, to Obasanjo. He has been arrested a number of times by the SSS and soldiers, and has refused to keep quiet. He has led marches and protests for the constitution to be upheld...one of which ensured Jonathan became president. And he's willing to die for his beliefs; a good example is the last Petrol Subsidy protests he organised. And to see the change he so desires in his country, he accepted to run with a honest muslim Notherner to contest the presidential elections.
TV/MoviesHow DSTV Rips Nigerians Off by quiverfull(op): 7:31pm On Nov 13, 2013
Ever wondered why your DSTV decoder gets scrambled whenever it rains? And no matter how important the programme you are watching is, it remains scrambled until the rain lets up? This will continue until there are credible competitors to challenge DSTV's monopoly in that sector. It is only the entrance of credible competitors that will force DSTV to upgrade its facilities and equipments.
Remember how MTN kept insisting it was not possible to implement the per-second-billing system until GLO came unto the scene many years ago? Yeah, that's right, when Nigeria gets a better alternative, DSTV's rates will fall, and they will improve on their services.
And then I wonder why other corrupt government officials do not invest their loot in the Nigerian economy like Tinubu is doing....

Threads like this one made me join Nairaland...just soliloquising.
And to think that many states in Nigeria still cannot pay the N18,000 minimum wage.
PoliticsRe: Bakare Threatens To Mobilise Nigerians Against N’assembly by quiverfull(m): 5:52pm On Jul 23, 2013
Okija Juju: "Im sure the open minded people who died protesting during the OCCUPY NIGERIA campaign died for something..
I have said my own.. If Bakare wants to go and protest at the National assembly, he should feel free, but we the Nigerian youths and peoples would nto be used by him or any politician anymore. The protest at Tahir Square wasnt led by any politician or pastor (who had something to gain), but by ordinary citizens."
"Ghandi led a one man protest when he went on a hunger strike.. Bakare can borrow a leaf from him.. You dont need a crowd to have a good protest."

No insults intended, but this is constipated thinking at best. Nobody died at the Ojota rally organised by pastor Bakare. But wait a sec, was pastor Bakare also looking for cheap publicity when he rallied Prof Soyinka and others to storm Abuja to protest and force the Senate to enact "the doctrine of necessity"...to make Jonathan the Acting President in the days of emperor Turai? And please, don't compare Pastor Bakare to Ghandi, they have different styles of operation.
And i say without blinking, no Nigerian Pastor till date has confronted and spoken truth to power like Pastor Bakare.
PoliticsRe: Bakare Threatens To Mobilise Nigerians Against N’assembly by quiverfull(m): 11:08am On Jul 23, 2013
@Okija Juju et al, how can you blame pastor Bakare for the abrupt end of the Occupy Nigeria protests? Was it not your labour leaders that betrayed us? Pastor Bakare was there at Ojota the Friday of that protest week saying the FG must revert to the old pump price or nothing, and yet that evening labour leaders Omar and Esele announced the "suspension" of the strike because the Jonathan govt. had agreed to N97 per litre of petrol. The NLC thought it was going to be the usual strike-for-3 days-and-bargain-to-get-some-Ghana must go bags protest. They did not expect pastor Bakare would organise the protests as properly as he did.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Devalue Naira As External Reserves Dwindle by quiverfull(m): 10:11am On Jul 23, 2013
When Pastor Bakare said last year that Jonathan's destiny is to "balkanize and bankrupt" Nigeria, and that he must be stopped, many called him a sour loser. Here we are just one year on!
PoliticsRe: NNPC Took Illegal N1.4tn Fuel Subsidy –NEITI by quiverfull(m): 3:48pm On Feb 01, 2013
When pastor Tunde Bakare said last year that Jonathan's destiny is to balkanize and bankrupt Nigeria, people accused him of being a sour loser. Here we are; just two years into his first term, and we can't seem to get enough of scandals and rubbish. I even just confirmed that his wife wants a N4 Billion "missions" building...the greedy lot! Everyone who voted for Jonathan in the last election should repent and ask God for forgiveness so we can be forgiven and rid of this malaise.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Report: No Cover-up - Jonathan by quiverfull(m):
Dieziani Madueke received the FINAL copy of the report of the committee last month, and for over 3 weeks she did nothing about it. Somebody on the committee sensed the FG was dragging their feet just to cover up the report, and quickly released it to the international media just to force the FG to acknowledge receipt of the report. This is what made the SNG to accuse the FG of a cover-up.
Now Dieziani comes out to tell us it is just a DRAFT copy that still needs the "input" of the FG (the same people indicted by the report). Importantly, the report has raised some very salient questions that need urgent answers:
1. Within the last 20 months, who DASHED out 3 oil blocks, Jonathan or Dieziani?
2. How come Bola Shagaya (a very close associate of Patience Jonathan) was one of the recepients of the oil blocks?
3. None of the oil blocks were bidded for, what criteria did the FG use to arrive at this decision?
4. Who received, and in whose custody is the $180 million Dollars given to the FG by Oil companies as signature bonuses?

Some of us have lost all respect for this government that is very loud on rhetorics and too low on accountability and transparency.
PoliticsRe: IGP Receives $620,000 Subsidy Scam Video by quiverfull(m): 5:30am On Oct 15, 2012
This is my biggest grouse with Jonathan. Nigeria's biggest problem is corruption, and what we need now is not some lilly-livered leader who is too afraid (and involved corruption himself) to rock the boat. If 70% of the time any goverment official is alleged to to have mismanaged or stolen money from the national treasury, they are brought to book, we will see rapid development in the country. This case is a classic example of why Nigeria is in a mess. It's been over 5 months now, and the IGP is just getting the tape? What is the Attorney General of the fed. doing? And there are many more cases like this: the Haliburton case, the Siemens case, the subsidy mess, the Malabu case...just too many. And the consequence of not prosecuting these cases is that other officials are getting more and more brazen in stealing public
funds.
PoliticsRe: Tunde Bakare Pushed Buhari To Failure With Ambition - Acn by quiverfull(m): 11:48am On Oct 09, 2012
I don't think pastor Bakare is a politician. He is a pastor who understands that the church being the salt of the earth and the light of the world cannot afford to remain within the walls of our church buildings and keep praying and hoping change will come. Light can only shine in the midst of darkness, and salt that is still seen is not working, it must be mixed to bring about change. And this is where grace and maturity comes in: there can be contact without contamination as explained by the book of Jude in the Bible. And i remember listening to his explanation about the whole CPC thing: he has always been speaking out for change in Nigeria. And when Buhari offered him his platform, he thought he just as well might be the change.
ACN handed Buhari a post-dated letter of resignation that pastor Bakare must sign before they agreed to the merger, and because they wanted to really destroy the man's integrity, they released a copy with a forged signature to the press without knowing the man would refuse. And Buhari simply told pastor Bakare he would support him whatever decision he took. Now we know what sort of people they are if they could sell Ribadu's presidential ticket for $100 million USD.
PoliticsRe: Ondo Elections: Pastor Tunde Bakare Prophesies Mimiko as Winner Oct 20 Poll, by quiverfull(m): 11:01am On Oct 08, 2012
@Crazy Man...who told you pastor Bakare prophesied in 1999 the Obj would die before being sworn-in? What he said was " Rejoice not yet o land, or your joy will be temporary, Obasanjo is not your messiah, he is king Agag, the prophetic axe will come upon his head before May 29" And even if you chose to interprete that to mean death to Obj, let's take the issues that arise from this. The book of Jonah has revealed to us that repentance and prayers can change prophecies. Jonah prophesied that Nineveh would be overthrown, but when the people repented, God relented. The Bible records that, from the king to young children, all of them fasted. Even their animals were not given food. God saw their repentance and relented. Nineveh was spared. I know for a fact that after that prophecy in 1999 Obj assembled some of the biggest names from the church to pray for him. That's a story fro another day. And don't forget, this prophecy came when Nigerians were still hopeful, but looking back at Obj's tenure, hasn't pastor Bakare been vindicated?
And for those spreading the lies that pastor Bakare's prophecies never come to pass, tell me just ONE that hasn't, besides the one above that you've totally misunderstood. And because i know that prophecies are like guided missiles, Nineveh was eventually overthrown in the book of Nahum when the people went back to their sins. What legacy has Obasanjo? A man known to have slept with his son's wife.
I understand though, most of the prophets of old too were reviled by the people of their time. Let's wait and see who's right.
PoliticsRe: Ondo Elections: Pastor Tunde Bakare Prophesies Mimiko as Winner Oct 20 Poll, by quiverfull(m): 8:03am On Oct 08, 2012
@rasputinn...how is Pastor Bakare a false prophet? You know, because he is not in the mould of your "User-friendly" and "Seeker-sensitive" men of God, you call him false. With all the rubbish going on in Nigeria, where are the "true" men of God who should be God's mouthpiece and act as the salt of the earth and the light of the world?

^^He meant Ondo.
PoliticsRe: Ondo Elections: Pastor Tunde Bakare Prophesies Mimiko as Winner Oct 20 Poll, by quiverfull(m): 7:46am On Oct 08, 2012
The truth is simple. Pastor Bakare is not in the mould of those pastors who are wining and dining with the crooks in power. This in itself affords him the right to speak truth to power. And if anybody will be sincere, this man speaks the truth as he sees it no matter whose ox is goad. When Turai hijacked power in her husband's last days, Jonathan was too scared to do anything, and the National Assembly was going round in circles, this man convened the Save Nigeria Group with other like minded activists and marched the streets of Abuja and Lagos. This forced the NA to declare the "Doctrine of Necessity" whatever that means. And he said it then that he didn't march the streets for Jonathan, but for the truth (in this case our constitution) to prevail. And when the same Jonathan began to tow the path of his corrupt fathers, Bakare went in company of others like Yinka Odumakin to Abuja to warn him. When they were leaving, Jonathan offered them $50,000 USD (Jonathan is yet to deny this), but they summarily refused. And before they arrived in Lagos, the news was leaked to the press. This was when trouble started. The grouse some people have is that he shouldn't have gone into politics, but then how do you effect the changes you want from the outside when those in power are not listening? He simply communicated to Nigerians that he was willing to lead by example...that he wasn't an arm chair critic.
Say whatever you like, Pastor Bakare didn't start today. From the days of IBB, he has been consistent in saying the truth fearlessly...and he has been arrested a number of times. In the days after Jesus died, all His Apostles were arrested at different times. What we should be asking is why is Pastor Bakare the only one being arrested?
PoliticsRe: Patience Jonathan Leaves German Hospital, Checks Into Hotel by quiverfull(m): 11:40am On Oct 04, 2012
No serious person should take this government seriously. The president and his handlers are only consistent in telling lies. We were told the woman went for a "moment's rest", but we all know better. What else does one expect from a government that lies to it's citizenry in a national broadcast? If this Government cannot handle the information about the health of the first lady properly, then WHAT can they handle properly? And please, don't tell me that rubbish that she's a private citizen, not when everything she does is paid from our national purse.
PoliticsRe: Okupe May Hire Keyamo To Defend Him by quiverfull(m): 4:47pm On Aug 29, 2012
It is amazing that president Goodluck hasn't terminated this man's appointment. I struggle to find words to describe this. A man was awarded contracts in 2004, and it comes to light in 2012 that he didn't execute the job and he still remains a spokesperson for him! Now he is saying he wants to refund the monies. Just like that? Haba! Jonathan just seems to have an endless supply of obviously corrupt people: the customs boss Dikko with forged credentials, the minister of petroleum resources Dieziani who spent over 200 Billion Naira on Kerosene subsidy without appropriation, and there is Oteh...that one is even strange and inexplicable . The secretary to the FG in the letter he wrote to re-instate her after it was obvious she had bribed federal lawmakers and mismanaged public funds, grudginly admitted that she was incompetent...i can go on, the list is so long. I pray that pastor Bakare's prophecy comes true that there will be an election before 2015. This utterly cluesless and stinkingly corrupt administration needs to be changed.
PoliticsRe: Reuben Abati: The Jonathan They Dont Know by quiverfull(m): 10:53pm On Aug 26, 2012
I actually took my time to read this particular article by Dr Abati and i felt sorry for what he has reduced himself to. President Jonathan is just a bad commodity to embellish no matter how had you try. A president who talks about transformation and fighting corruption yet surrounds himself with some of the most corrupt sycophants. A good example is the case involving one of the chief financiers of his election and his close associate(Otedola) openly confessing to bribing one his party's strongest men (Farouk Lawan)in the National Assembly. And after having the two men open different cans of worms for over two months in the media, both are still walking free. Another is the case of Dr Okupe his new special adviser who has admitted that he got paid to execute contracts for the states of Imo and Benue, and after absconding for 8 years he is now negotiating with those states to refund the monies. These words of Pius Adesanmi sums it all up: "If he (Jonathan) does not appoint scurrilous characters, he clings to the ones he inherits, no matter the level of national outrage. Witness his clinging to Diezani Alison Madueke, despite the enormous work done by the defunct NEXT newspapers and Premium Times to reveal the level of the woman’s rottenness. Witness his clinging to Arunmah Oteh even when the letter written to reinstate her by his own Secretary to the Government of the Federation grudgingly admitted her incompetence. Witness his clinging to Alhaji Abdullahi Inde Dikko, the ethically-dented and morally-damaged certificate forger who heads the Nigerian customs service."
Christianity EtcRe: Northern Christians To Pastor Bakare: Timothy II 2:24 by quiverfull(m): 5:31pm On Aug 10, 2012
Pastor Caleb says Goodluck Jonathan is a Christian (I laugh in Ijebu)...the same way Obasanjo (Ebora Owu), a well known Ogboni member said he was born again and later that he was waiting for God to speak to him whether to seek a second term when in power. Abeg, leave Pastor Bakare joor, let him continue to speak out against corruption and bad governance. He has remained solidly against every wicked and corrupt government, from IBB to Abacha, from Obasanjo to Tur'ai.
Christianity EtcRe: Bakare: Only Rich Men Should Rule by quiverfull(m): 10:51am On Aug 08, 2012
@ Naturalwaves...your post is so accurate

I hate the fact that,I have to talk on this over and over again!....Like I said earlier on in d previous post on PTB,Tunde Bakare's intellectual level(being a sound lawyer of high repute) is just too high for a lot of Nigerians to decipher and this is obvious from from d funny conclusions being drawn from his statements even by d Sahara reporter. It is also very funny to see how d so called Sahara reporter structured people's thinking and thoughts with the first sentence of d report before quoting Bakare and a lot of peoole fell for it (bad journalism).

FIRST OF ALL, There's a diff. Btw saying; "WHEN A SHOELESS TAKES OVER" and "WHEN THE SHOELESS TAKES OVER".The first statement( when a shoeless takes over)is a general statement. However, the second statement which was said by PTB(when d shoeless takes over) refers to a particular person which in this case is Jonathan. The statement doesn't mean that people of low background can't make it.ok?
EXAMPLE......WHEN A FOOTBALLER STEPS ON D PITCH,HE SCORES GOALS(general statement).WHEN THE FOOTBALLER STEPS ON D PITCH,HE SCORES GOALS(This is specific and directed towards a certain footballer)and sensible people will ask Who? I.e which footballer am I referring to?.Therefore,Bakare's statement was directed specifically to Jonathan and he isn't saying people of low backgrounds cannot make it.
POINT 2....Since the subject is already known, the rest follows...WHEN SUCH MEN OF LOW ESTATE FIND THEMSELVES IN POWER,TERRIBLE THINGS BEGIN TO HAPPEN.This statement is directed also to d subject and it means when people of Jonathan's mentality(CLUELESS persons) takes over, terrible things happen.QED.
Moreover,I guess the OP pasted this to provide a misleading twist to the previous topic which was well won by the PTB supporters and I am so dissapointed at the Admin/Mods for bringing this on for d 2nd time in less than 48hrs.I guess this was done basically for selfish profit making reasons and that's not good enough!

This BEAF character IS A PAID AGENT OF THE GEJ GOVERNMENT. And he employs the same tactics as this present administration. Whenever there's a negative post or story about this government, BEAF and his clones come here to distract everybody from the crux of the matter either by insulting anybody who goes against the government or by using "the-others-have-done-worse-so-let-it-go" argument.
