AgricultureRe: Nigeria Overtakes Egypt As Largest Rice Producer In Africa’ by QuotaSystem: 8:33pm On Mar 04, 2019
So Nigeria now accounts for over one quarter of Africa's total annual rice production? Impressive

The sleeping Giant of Africa is awakening...NEXT LEVEL things cool

This is a great feat and a testament of the efforts President Buhari is making in agriculture, particularly rice production.

I rather have Fayemi than that fake Pastor...

However, it will be very IMPOSSIBLE for Yemi to even win APC ticket or get the blessings of the power bloc in the north due to obvious reasons.

Quote me anywhere
Tonye don't join them in sitting in Bayelsa/FCT and be telling northerners what will happen in Katsina.

That contributed a lot to Atiku's defeat with the 'northern divided votes' delusion.

It is a already a foregone conclusion up north that the Presidency is going south in 2023. Anyone that PMB endorses is sure to get northern bloc support regardless of him being a Pastor.

PMB just defeated & has shattered the myth of the "northern power bloc" (corrupt rtd. generals and politicians who were actually behind Atiku) and will continue to do so till 2023.

[s]You think Politics is PlayStation 4 abi?

Which structure that PYO has to run a successful Primary election? Do you think Tinubu structure that js restricted in parts of SW and is being challenged in Osun, Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo states is enough to deliver him?

I hope you aren't expecting PMB to stick head for PYO or endorse him?

NB: Rochas and Amosun will DEFEAT Yemi Osinbajo in any FREE AND FAIR APC PRIMARY.
Lol it isn't PS4, but between the both of us, we both know who's been on a winning streak wink

PMB will endorse PYO barring any conflict in the future, and as long as he has Tinubu's nod; that's all the structure he needs to win both primary and main elections.

warped thinking! so i must go with northern choice in any elections? this must be almajiri patterned democracy. jonathan never got significant votes from the north core, but did dat stop him from running an inclusive govt?did it stop him working to endear himself to the northetners thst kept referring to him as kafir and infidel?did it stop him from building lots of schools to take vagrant kids off the streets of northern nigeria? buhari is simply a divisive ruler. i pray nigeria heals from the effect of his divisiveness in the nearest future after he leaves the scene..
You are missing the point. More like warped understanding.

The point is your extreme hatred and constant attacks on Buhari contributed a lot to the divisiveness, so the SE is also to blame.

You don't have to agree, but it is a fact.
PoliticsRe: Why We Need An Osinbanjo In 2023 by QuotaSystem: 7:35pm On Mar 04, 2019
I just discovered a startling irony on this thread.

Everyone really doesn't mind VP Osibanjo & thinks he is alright...yet he was head of the Economic Management Team, ably assisted by Godwin Emefiele as CBN Governor who's been receiving praises on his retirement thread...yet PMB is blamed for the economy because he is a 'dullard'.

President Buhari was indeed vindicated by his landslide victory.

With Buhari, the SE is as guilty as he is for any accusation of bigotry, hatred or antagonism.

If you think constantly attacking & bloc voting against the North's favorite candidate twice in a row is not divisive, then you're not ready for a real discussion.

PYO will bridge and soothe that animosity on both sides.

Actually it's Kano feeding Akwa Ibom in this case.

Ganduje is helping the company remain in business using Kano money by bulk purchasing their power generated. Which means dozens of AKS families don't have to go hungry from loss of jobs as the company was already struggling.

Lol which one is CCN again?

All I see here is the usual PDP propaganda machine, in a somewhat more sophisticated format, that typically clearly and deliberately avoids analyzing the REASONS behind the poor economy Buhari inherited because it points directly at the writers sponsors.

NIGERIA’S UNFOLDING CATASTROPHE
For most of the world, the catastrophe phase is not underway yet, so perhaps a look at Nigeria, where it is well and truly underway will be instructive. A poor economy dependent on a single export resource looks set to continue on its self-imposed implosion, driven by generous subsidy regimes, ridiculously unsustainable social intervention programs, rapidly ballooning foreign debt and a growing annual recurrent expenditure bill that it cannot hope to afford.
Thankfully, the core of the article which is their usual doom prophecy of an imminent catastrophe is dead on arrival due to already recorded successes in economic diversification away from a mono economy with agricultures contribution to our national GDP has almost tripled in the last year. The subsidy will also naturally die with Dangotes local refining capacity coming online soon. All is not glowing for us yet, but that catastrophe they predicted is just NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

To me, I believe we need a fresh breed of leadership
Its not about what I want, it's about what's possible in the shortest time.

You'd be surprised what eliminating an average of US$40 million per day petrol import bill will do to our exchange rate and economy. The significant fall in demand for USD will lead to a dramatic fall in fx rates, triggering favorable multiplier effects in the economy..

http://thenationonlineng.net/fuel-import-costs-15b-yearly/

Right now I personally believe PMB is the one that has the discipline, focus and determination we need to get there.

Bros you no pity we Nigerians? But I'm glad you acknowledge his failure to address security challenges.

But are you in Naija so?
Yeah returned last year.

Economic recovery is not an overnight affair, and the effects of some of the major policy changes that will expand it - Dangote's refinery ending daily dollar bleed to petrol importation creating unnecessary demand for USD thus increasing exchange rate, and increased balance of trade through manufacturing and export focus for instance, will have been manifest by then. The agricultural value chain is also expected to have grown and evolved with the current efforts.

We will all be alright bro. Politics aside.

The economic fundamentals (rising GDP, robust reserves, import substitution, export focus, increasingly diversified economy) indicate so, trust me.

I assure you that by 2021 our exchange and inflation rates would be much better and the common man will finally smile. Nigeria will work.

It is really the major reason I supported PMB despite all the nauseating insecurity which tempted me otherwise.

My mistake

Next level for sure
Always remind pained trolls that no matter the situation of the jungle, an Almajiri will NEVER descend to the sub-human and satanic level of stealing their wives pants or using them for human sacrifices as is rampant in the south just to escape poverty. They will never engage in cannibalism or mine skulls for money, neither will they transform their daughters wombs to baby production lines - just to escape poverty. God forbid, our values are much higher than that.

They will rather preserve their humanity and beg for alms like destitutes all over the world from Europe to Australia smiley

I am not here to rub some peoples ego.

I noticed that a certain phrase "I am North" has been circulating after the election, saw that some people have been bragging with it while mixing the positivity and negativity of the phrase without giving in much thought.

I don't have problem with the positive aspect of it, my problem is with the opposite, it really baffles me to see how some of us are celebrating something that is not worthy of celebration such as Almajiri system of education, begging, other petty jobs etc. We ought to condemned the aforementioned problems, we should cover our face in shame rather than bragging with it the earlier we start calling a spade by its name the better for us, I think is better to face our fear rather than shy away from it if we didnt face it definitely it will continue to eat deep down like cancer.

Sincere speaking In some aspect I like the ambition of our southern counterpart their zeal and positive thinking. You will never see them begging in northern streets like our folks are doing down south. The annoying thing is how the beggars and the almajiris thinks that they are entitled in whatsoever you wanted to give them out of righteousness.

Few days ago I watched a video trending, how a Southerner was mocking a northern begger, I felt indifferent about the video because they are the ones that chose to be object of mockery, you will see a healthy man begging in the streets is it laziness or what? The question we should ask ourselves is are there not old men and physically challenge people in the South? Why are they not in the street begging? The funny thing is most of the beggars saved a lot of money throughout their begging career but they will not quit because they think it is an easy or quick money scheme, forgetting that they have lost their self worth and self esteem.

I know that some will agree with me while some may not, whichever maybe the case that's the bitter truth and we must face it.

Lastly to the southerners I like your ambition but i detest your lifestyle.

#Iam a productive North!
This article could have been better timed and themed, but unfortunately you took the bait of the sore losers.

The Almajiri system as we know it, is knitted into the fabric of the northern society not just because it is practically encouraged by Islam as a way for poor children to acquire Islamic education, but also because their teachers and politicians have found they are a profitable way to get money or votes, and this explains why the problem is endemic and efforts to change the system is met with hypocrisy. Unfortunately these children grow up to become burdens on society and end up travelling down south to constitute a further nuisance.

I don't think anyone was trying to defend the system, the defence was more about pointing out the hypocrisy of the southern antagonists who were clearly lashing out at Northerners in the anger and frustration of Atiku's defeat. The hypocrites who were previously crusaders for democracy suddenly became green livered soulless beasts that started hurling insults at northerners for exercising their democratic rights.

The same people who are struggling with the same poverty as the Almajiris (as can be seen by their online begging even here on NL and sub-human pant stealing and satanic yahoo human rituals) instantly mounted their paper high horses to castigate beggars who are victims of society, which is what prompted the #IAmNORTH movement to show that we are NORTHERN and PROUD and cannot be gullible enough to fall for their cheap sifia chest pain & frustration driven blackmail cool cool.

We showed trolls like livebynight that with our population we can determine our own leadership and have ZERO apologies for anyone bitter about that. We showed that we are likely better educated and enlightened by the quality of our twitter exchanges. We showed that even though the North is challenged by poverty like the rest of the country (albeit to a higher degree because scarce resources over a larger population will logically spread thinner), we proudly lay claim to successes like Aliko Dangote - the greatest industrialist & richest man in Africa - intellectuals like Dr. Amina Mohammed (UN Dep. Sec. Gen), inventors like Jelani Aliyu (Chevy Volt/GM/) etc. We also asserted that we are ALSO dominant in the military, civil service and wield the kind of unity and political power other regions can only dream of.

You see, the point is to stop feeding their disappointed souls by paying attention to their blackmail; instead remind them why we are FORMIDABLE opponents or ignore their pained rants and focus on moving to the NEXT LEVEL with the choice of the MAJORITY of Nigerians.
