PoliticsRe: South East Is The Next For Senate Presidency by QuotaSystem: 10:38am On Mar 03, 2019
There is no ranking 2nd term senator from the SE so none of the APC senators are eligible according to the Senate house rules. So you stubbornly resist the APC in your region and sabotage it's candidate, but somehow you expect APC will graciously pull out the 'doctrine of neccessity' to favour the South East? The height of delusion grin.

Fact is the SE has no significant stake to claim in the APC especially for the 3rd highest office in the land, so I doubt much if your wish is possible.

Northerners are smart enough to never play such myopic politics of putting all eggs in one political basket. This is a lesson the SE has stubbornly refused to learn due to hatred for Buhari.

As you can see we are always evenly spread across both parties so that question is invalid as it is a practical impossibility.

PoliticsRe: Video Of Hausa-fulani Beggar: Matters Arising by QuotaSystem: 1:30pm On Mar 02, 2019
So since the cowards have decided to throw away all sense of morality to channel their hate and frustration towards the few unfortunate beggars that they assumed voted PMB leading to Obi's crushing defeat, what do they plan to do to the hundreds of thousands of northern millionaires that actually funded, campaigned and ensured President Buhari won?

The little sympathy that people were starting to have for these easterners is beginning to erode with their activities in the past few days. I had to refer an Igbo High Chief I highly respect to this video and the almajiri trend on twitter yesterday when he was just going on and on and on about the need for a government of national unity to soothe tempers. He was speechless in shame.

You will need these same people in 2023 and beyond. You will need northern support to amend the constitution to restructure or secede. You cannot get either by force without military power. Continue and be assured you will generate enough resentment to make deliberate sabotage of eastern interests an official Government policy. You are starting what you cannot finish.

Not that I'm surprised at the degree of hatred and frustration, just ensuring this is said for posterity's sake.

Corrinthians:
I would cut straight to the chase here because I have never felt so appalled by such brazen display of HATE in my whole life.

The 2019 elections have come and gone, and expectedly, there are the victors and the losers, and those whose mighty egos have been bruised, somewhat irreparably. Unfortunately, those who pride themselves as the beacons of literacy and civility have been the ones displaying the worst signs of barbarism and illiteracy.

A video has emerged of a guy, presumably an Atiku/Obi supporter, rebuffing a beggar who approached him, simply because the beggar is of Northern origin! More surprising than the brazen display of hate towards a destitute, are the comments which have trailed the video, especially on this forum. To those who seem to applaud the callous and shameful display of RAW HATE, the beggar deserves it because they aided the reelection of Buhari.

Now, the following questions arise, and these are questions a human with the heart and brain of a human, should ask themselves.

1. Majority of those who claim the election was a sham and that the actual winner is Atiku/obi, what more evidence does one need to prove they dont believe themselves when they say that?

If indeed you believe Atiku/obi won the election, isnt it then likely that AT LEAST 40% of those northerners voted them? We are talking about millions of people here. Allow that sink for a moment.

Therefore, if millions of those people did vote Atiku/obi, then, chances are there's a healthy probably that person towards whom you are directing your hate actually voted the same candidate you voted!!! How then do you justify your HATE for him?? Can you see how hate blinds reason?

2. If you claim Atiku/obi won but rigged out, what exactly concerns a beggar with rigging? Would someone who rigged an election be on the streets bagging? Do you think any of those people seen in those disgusting videos where folks were thumb printing rims after rims of ballot papers would have anything doing in the streets begging? Do the people you saw in those videos look anything like these beggars to you?

3. We take pride in our religion as Christians and those who are seen applauding the barbaric act are same folks who claim to be Christian's and speak of some phantom islamization agenda. Now, what I would like to ask is, what part of our religion encourage such acts of wickedness and hate? Isnt LOVE itself the greatest virtue of Christianity? Or is there some other brand of Christianity out there which we are oblivious of?

As a matter of fact, both frontline contenders to the office are from THE SAME REGION AND RELIGION, so why have we chosen to become so embittered by the loss of one of them? Or is the reaction born more out of Obi's defeat than it is Atiku's?

We thought we had seen it all as per the hate these folks are capable of after jonathan's loss, but from what we are seeing, it is instructive that we the good citizens of this country brave ourselves for the worse. Unfortunately, those pushing us to the precipice happen to be the most dispersed people across this country. There is hardly any corner of the country where you dont find their kith and kin doing business. What then do they think would be the fate of their loved ones if shiit hits the fan? What exactly is there to gain from this show of shame?

The APC endured opposition for sixteen long years under which period they suffered needless damages and oppression by agents of the state. We never saw them demonstrate such vileness. Why then is it so difficult for the pdp and her supporters to stomach just FIVE YEARS of opposition? Had the supporters of APC acted the way we see these guys act today, would there really be any country left to scramble over today? What is there to gain from burning down a country to whose leadership you aspire? Are you planning on ruling over her ashes?

I think it is time the government of the day uses all the resources within her powers, especially with the incoming NASS, to bring some sanity into the social media space before it consumes the country. China is doing it and heavens have yet to fall!!! As a matter of fact, one is tempted to think Nigerians aren't civilised enough to have access to social media if the things we see there every day is anything to go by. Ironically, the people who boast of being civilised are the ones pushing the boundaries of hate on the internet!

There should be a clampdown on those propagating hate in whichever form. If they can't learn to accept defeat like civilised humans do, then they should have no business having their inflammable opinions broadcasted to the general public. Let them keep that pollution to their nuclear families. angry angry

Thank you.

Someone yesterday also wanted a logical reason why people voted PMB and got his responses.

Now I want any Atiku supporter to also kindly and logically answer the following questions without insults or derailing.

1. How can you so easily agree that an old man like OBJ would suddenly go against EVERY negative thing he wrote in his much celebrated book on how Atiku is unbelievably corrupt, is disloyal, relies on marabouts etc? You think OBJ was sleeping when he wrote the book? Is that the kind of person you want the north to vote? We are not daft.

2. How can you not notice that all the old big thieves from IBB to Danjuma to OBJ ganged up against him at the last minute. Did you ask yourself why?

Nobody is pretending northerners or other northern leaders voted for are white as snow, but Buhari carries the values which we admire and aspire to (honesty, integrity, purposefulness) and we will NEVER choose a renowned crook like Atiku over PMB except the other contestant is the likes of Late Lawrence Anini.
PoliticsRe: Why I Was Confident Buhari’ll Win – Sokoto Campaign DG by QuotaSystem:

“Sokoto people have always come out strongly to voice their support to President Muhammadu Buhari.

On why he had such confidence, he replied ‘’because of people that are involved. I am a politician, every single politician knows when he is going to win election and when is going to lose.”
He just hit the nail on the head.

Honestly I had ZERO doubt that PMB would win this election by a significant margin as soon as the PVC collection figures were released for each region.

I outlined the reasons in October last year, why he would lose massively in the North which had the highest recorded numbers of PVC collections and lowest voter apathy as thus;

QuotaSystem:
To put it plainly, apart from Taraba, Benue, Plateau & Nassarawa States, President Muhammadu Buhari is poised to sweep the votes of the remaining 15 northern states, for the following reasons:

1. The "Amana" factor.

A lot of southerners often wonder the basis of the cult-like following PMB commands in the North - the reason is not far fetched.

The Hausa-fulani people in particular, place a huge value on the concept of "Amana" (trust/to hold in trust), a value which Buhari's track record of integrity (whether disputed or not) is clearly aligned with. Despite media propaganda, most of these people who are more politically informed than their average southern counterparts, are aware that not a single charge of corruption has stuck on their revered PMB, amidst corruption allegations among his cronies. Atiku loses massively in this respect because of his track record of corruption (BPE, Haliburton, $16b power scam, unexplained source of wealth etc.) which presents him as an untrustworthy leader to most northerners.

Furthermore, PMB's seemingly north-centric agenda regarding appointments, infrastructure projects (roads, rails, ports) and focus on agriculture assures most northerners that their interests would be well protected under his administration, in contrast to Atiku who is perceived to be likely to make concessions and appeasements to the East whose support he is mostly riding on going by recent trends. Atiku also loses big in this regard.

2. The South Eastern VP Factor

If Atiku gives in to the clamor for his running mate to emerge from the East, then he stands to lose massive votes from the core north for obvious reasons.

Firstly, the deep political antagonism and anti-north stance from Igbos, which has characterized the national space and been amplified since the defeat of Jonathan and rise of IPOB/Nnamdi Kanu and their hate speech, will deeply hurt Atiku's chances because not only will it mean the North would be taking the extreme bigotry, insults and political antagonism from the East right on the chin with no consequences, it would also mean the possibility of an Igbo successor to Atiku - a people known for their contempt for Nigeria's unity and secessionist aspirations.

In addition, a SE VP will also cost Atiku significant SW votes - a sub-region with the second largest number of registered voters (14 million).

3. The Boko Haram Factor

In sharp contrast to the generally held notion among some in the south that Atiku would sweep the NE because it's his home region, the strides recorded by PMB in the fight against Boko Haram heavily neutralizes that effect. I am not talking about social media noise, but the perceptions of people directly affected by Boko Haram activities and are experiencing a gradual return to normalcy since PMB took office.

Yola (Adamawa) for example, Atiku's own home capital, has experienced peace since PMB's onslaught on BH like they never saw since Boko Haram emerged under the past PDP administration - this was formerly a ghost town that used to suffer deadly BH attacks daily with dusk-till-dawn curfews, which has since been lifted and attacks reduced to suicide bombings and guerrilla attacks on soft targets, which are reducing on a monthly basis. This was a state that had several LGA's under Boko Haram's rule during PDP's administration and the people aren't quick to forget the corruption that marred the fight against BH in Dasuki fashion.

Maiduguri is back to it's bustling state with dozens of NGO's providing humanitarian services to help with the ongoing rebuilding efforts, people are now free to watch El-Kanem FC matches in the township stadium, and trans-border economic trade (mostly fish) is gradually being restored. The return of the Chibok and Dapchi girls also adds points to PMB's profile in the sub-region. If by God's grace the FG is able to secure the release of Leah Sharibu then that would be a hat-trick. I personally spoke to a "Kube" (traditional hausa cap) dealer from Borno recently and these were the exact sentiments he expressed as he professed support for Buhari's candidacy.

Final Note

It is very valid to permute that the votes from the 4 excluded northern states (Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa, Taraba) will be shared by both candidates as federal might will play out (both parties will rig anyway). With 19 million registered voters in the North West and 10 million in the North East which are largely homogenic, it is safe to say anyone who loses these key regions has lost the 2019 elections. With another 14 million registered voters in the SW which is APC's stronghold and Atiku's slant towards choosing a SE VP, his campaign team should be very worried.

Note that this is not to say Atiku will not record a sizable number of votes from the Northern States, but the ratio will pale in significance to Buhari's potential landslide victory in the region. - Q.S

Atiku is unelectable in the North. Read that again.

I wonder the kind of jazz he used on you people that makes you all forget his past stained with fraud, graft, looting and his failure as a VP after 8 years (NITEL, Pentascope, Siemens etc.

If only Atiku had listened and pulled out when he had the chance... undecided

I guess his defeat was programmed from birth.

The scam and criminal Atiku that claimed to be a Democrat will never listen and take the path of honour.

No be Atiku?
