pcachuks: I need help oo
Hello everyone,
I need some assistance. Has anyone experienced this before?
I placed my order on January 17th, and my account was charged a total of 394,700 Naira. This includes 378 Naira for the device and a 32,000 Naira deposit, minus 16,000 Naira for shipping, totaling 394k. However, the invoice on my Starlink account only shows a deposit of 32,000 Naira and does not reflect the entire amount debited from my debit card.
I have submitted a support ticket, but Starlink is insisting they only took 32k from my account. I even attached the receipt of the transaction from my Kuda account, which clearly shows 394k. I cannot afford to lose my money, and I am still waiting for the device due to capacity issues. I was considering asking them to switch me to roaming since I have been billed for the device since January, but they are not being cooperative. Speak to your bank and ask for a tracer. Should be pretty easy to see how the money moved and where it is currently at. I know for sure Starlink would only take the deposit and not the full sum UNLESS there was a glitch in which case your bank can do a fund recall. |

Pictures full Google (Nokia wifi beacon 1.1) There are newer versions. Should cost you right now about 95k before shipping. Couldn't find it in Nigeria unless you perhaps go via network providers. |

lukfame: Good evening my people. I finally got delivery of my Ethernet cable. Can someone help out with how I can run the connection with my Tp link with or without bypass mode.
Thanks Very easy! The ethernet adapter plugs into the Starlink router. Then an ethernet cable is plugged one end into the ethernet adapter and the other end into your router. In my case it's a Nokia Beacon. There is really no need to turn on bypass mode. In my case, I renamed the SSID of the Nokia beacon to the same as the Starlink. This allows devices to seamlessly switch between the main Starlink router or the Nokia Beacon depending on where they are and signal (not network) strength; without having to manually switch wifi networks. The most important thing to do is split your network (if you haven't done so) into 5GHz and 2.4GHz from the Starlink app settings. if your TP Link supports splitting, do the same. Enjoy |

udatso: Now that starlink has increased the price of the device from 378 to 800k, I won't be surprised if the criminals here who call themselves resellers increase it from 900k to 2m. Even though they are ultra-greedy; cant blame them one bit. I blame the "lazy" ones who cannot take out just 5mins to read and follow instructiosn as clear as day. It doesn't even take up to 5mins to process the order. Even the installation itself is plug and play. So what gives? But my people are too lazy. In my case. Starlink mentioned reduceds speeds due to roam as residential has more priority. Yet, I get speeds in the 200+ from anywhere in the building.

pcachuks: What do yo mean paying for roaming ? Does that help you get the device quicker ? I have been waiting since Jan 07. You've been waiting for the "Residential or Standard Plan". For now no space; so you have to wait until (only Starlink knows) I paid for "Roam or Mobile" plan; 11k extra per month it would cost; but I didn't have to wait; plus you can always take it anywhere in Nigeria as against the former which is tied to one location. I should get the device tomorow. It's already in town and that's about 1 week thereabouts in transit. |

Leun: i have split my connections, my area currently has been cloudy since we launched today as its looking like it going to rain and my test results keep varying like i said earlier. This is lovely. MTN used to give me 500+Mbps on good day and about 130Mbps on bad days. But they were not unlimited; ripoff to me. Airtel brough the unlimited but maxed at 60Mbps or so Local fibre is charging 50k for 25Mbps; when starlink roam is giving you 100Mbps averagely, for 49k and even 200+ for cheaper (residential) Patiently waiting for delivery. Don't know what to even do with these relics I have, airtel, mtn, swift, etc |

Fuadeiza: Thanks. After buying the via the roam option, where/how do pay the 32k to join the residential plan waitlist ? Nah mate! You have two options once you land on the website. 1. Residential pay the full price and get your kit. But for Lagos, Abuja and Kano, you have to wait for a while after paying 32k deposit due to capacity issues. 2. Roam: pay the full price and get your kit. But the speeds are reduced compared to residential but you have the advantage of moving it around the whole country and even pausing your subscription ( you cant do that on residential) Nonetheless; the speed on roam is faar better and consistent that what Nigerian ISPs would give you. Nigerian ISPs do give and take. You get it now. Just go to the website and follow the prompts. Make sure to read cos its plainly stated there before you add your card. Goodluck |

Leun: Results vary as they connect to various networks when online. Impressive. Currently paying 50k for 25Mbps and 20k for 20Mbps (backup) So paying 49k for 50 - 125Mbps (roam) is a no-brainer. Patiently waiting for tracking number |

Fuadeiza: Hi. Please What do you mean you’re on queue for residential plan ?
Are you going to get another dish to switch plan ?
And how do you specify which plan you want while ordering ?
Abeg no vex for my plenty question, I want to get starlink too. But I’m not sure what’s going on. It means that a location is at capacity (filled up) and no more space for new users. So you gotta pay a deposit 32k and a spot is reserved for you. When somebody leaves that location; or more satellites are deployed; they will start adding people from the waiting list (queue). Unfortunately, you're not given a number; so you never know when it's gonna be your turn. It could be some months or years; nobody knows. Yeah I will switch plan without buying a new dish. One the homepage, you can either choose Roam or Residential |

Leun: Well this could be tied to specific locations, let's say Ajegunle for example is clustered, I don't think Ajah would be suffering the same fate. The whole of Lagos has reached capacity. I am sure he ordered for the regional roaming plan. I am also on the queue for the residential plan but ordered for the roam (for now). Before you ask, ALAT Mastercard

I can see you fond it hard to differentiate between megabits and megabytes no cause for alarm I won't argue with you. I change my location from time to time and I can state it anywhere you cannot get a speed of 100 megabytes / second on MTN 4G Glo Airtel or LTE Wateva they have rebranded the fake network into. I did not say I am God and I don't know why you are pained. You people like misleading people. sprints1: is this one even speed all I see is 1mb/ secs this una readings na complete fake pls always clarify the highest 4G MTN can go in Naija is 18MB/Secs and its very rare. Most times is 12MB/secs downward. All this one na lies. Optic fibre goes for 1GB/Sec that's in Abroad seeing 250MB/Secs just dey make laugh which MTN wan give that kind speed if u like sleep on top of their mast u no go see pass 18MB/secs You are very d!mb because: 1. You don't understand the difference between MB/s and Mb/s. A primary 4 student knows this already these days. 2. You're in your tiny hole in one dead street and you seem to know what happens to everybody else in a country with at least 213 million people. Sheybi you are God and you can be everywhere at the same time? 3. You're also d!mb not to know that network speed is affected by many things; most importantly location. You see how stup!d you sound ? |

GloriousGbola: All this mbps is marketing wayo and does not translate to real world value.
What is your actual measured download speed.
How long does it take you to download a 1gb file.
That is the koko You are smart by half. A download is a download be it a speed test or downloading a movie. Whatever speed you get during a speed test will be the same when downloading any other stuffs. You are only limited by the site where you are downloading from as some of them don’t have the capacity to keep up, thus giving you slower speeds. |
