viodemus: forget logic, igbos are winning the dna numbers in Brazil. No logic is bigger than that. Let me shock you, there are more of them that trace back to modern day cross Rivers and akwa ibom, than a majority tribe like yoruba. Don't forget to tell us that the orisas they are worshiping in Brazil like Shango/xango, Babaluaye, Yemoja etc are igbo gods. They also come from Brazil every year for annual Osun festivals at ezu river in anambra. |

DamnnNiggarr: Egwusi had it's original from Igbo or should I say it's more of a coincidence, because Yoruba and Igbo have many words in common. Our forefathers and ancestors ate egwusi soup even before the rise and fall of civilization. Are you aware that you don't grow/plant egusi in SE? How can you claim ownership/originatorship of foodstuff you imported from somewhere else? |

Very bad jealous people To copy isn't a problem, but not to acknowledge the original source or claiming ownership of what you borrowed or copied or stolen from somewhere is aberration. |

No offense intended You can't even afford Yoruba food. Yoruba foods are the healthiest and most expensive. Elubo is more expensive than semo, wheat, rice (both local and imported). |

zebszebs: And what is the point you are trying to make?
You are implying that Iwo too will be "up there" soon?
There is no prize for being first to comment without saying anything reasonable. Because you people have being configured to always see and hype negative stories. Yes, if Qatar, UAE etc could turn from a desert status to become what they are today, there's hope for Iwo too to be up there someday. |

And we wonder why Europeans look down on us and relate with us from a condescending position?
We never were, and never will be in the same league with them.
Here is a picture of London in 1938 Story. Qatar & UAE were far worse than this in 1938, but today they're up there. |

I'm not sure if @OP is telling the whole truth here. May be only some indigenes of Ilorin who have never stepped out of Ilorin may want affinity to norther Fulani (Some Ilorin indigenes with Yoruba names are actually d descendants of Hausa/Fulani settlers). But all other Kwara indigenes from Ofa to Erinle to Oro to Igbomina even to Okun people of Kogi state see themselves as SouthWesterners and Yoruba. All the indigenes of Ilorin in diaspora see themselves as SouthWesterners and Yoruba as well. |

Ray369: The man you're talking about took part in majorly all the coup de tat in Nigeria since independence..he's we'll know for it ..no Igbos will forget the role he played in the civil war if you don't know ask questions..the likes of gowon, muritala , Obasanjo, buhari , ibb and abacha knew him because they all worked together...he knew what was coming for him when the coup against IBB failed in 1987 ..so he did the needful as a strong man ...he didn't want to face the disgrace the likes of obj, diya, adisa & co faced after the failed coup de tat against abacha... The man we are talking about was involved in almost all the military govts till 1979 when shagari took over and they all planned to remove him via coup de tat in 1983 which was successful , so IBB knew who he was dealing with ... Don't defend who you don't know ...don't judge a book by its cover . So when the "coup" failed, as per your irrational submission, who were the co-plotters arrested/killed? Abi they all took rat poison? Abi it was a one-man coup? Mention the names of the remaining coupists and what eventually happened to them. |

Ray369: He was involved..take it or leave it! It's only an irrational mind and a foooool that will believe that a 78yo retiree, a civilian for that matter, planned a coup against a sitting military president. Ibb, Abubakar, Buhari, Bamaiyi etc are retired military generals and former coupists, who are currently about the age of Awolowo when he died. Can any of them plan a coup today? Think! |
