Agreed, but to clarify, nobody here hates Somalis, all things that are said about Somalis are in defense. Axum and Ajuran are always coming here and causing trouble. I dont see any threads started bashing Somalis, in fact most threads that are pan-african are very positive, but it is the destructive Somali minority that appears and causes enough of a commotion to drove people mad to defend themselves.

Both KenyanLady and BlackKenichi are ridiculous for continuing this argument. How are you gonna argue over which people are more attractive than others? Everyone has different opinions. There's no objective truth to this.

Everyone i'm sure can agree (even Axum) that there are beautiful East African people, beautiful North African people, beautiful West African people, and beautiful Horn Africans, and South Africans and Central Africans and beautiful Caribbeans, and beautiful African Americans and beautiful Brazilians and beautiful Koreans and Russians and whatever. Who cares which group of people is "on average" the most attractive? I won't lie to you, being from East Africa, for a long time I bought into the stereotype that West African women were all ugly, then I met several beautiful ones, and even dated a beautiful one for several months. I didn't care if there's millions of ugly West African women in the world, because I was with a beautiful one.

This is how normal people work. Everyone buys into some kind of stereotype about other groups of people, but at the end of the day, most civilized people realize that if a person is attractive, then they are attractive, and that's all that really matters, and not so much where they come from. So Axum, if you're an ugly Somali, even if somebody thinks that the average Somali is handsome, they're not going to care and they'll still think you're ugly, how other Somalis look won't help you. Kenichi, if you're a handsome Caribbean man, then even people who think most black people are ugly will recognize that. Worry about yourselves people, at the end of the day you're arguing about who's prettier on the internet. think about that.

1. Lol using the middle east to uplift Somalis image. Somalis are not Arab, and dont speak Arabic. It is well documented the historic trade between Somalis and ancient egypt, Somali/Ottoman war with Ethiopia/Portugal, Islam's earlierest followers seeking refuge in what is now northern Somalia.

2. Somalia's objective on the international stage is more aligned with Muslim/Arab countries than it is with Africa, this is a fact. Pointing that obvious fact upsets you.

Do you even know what that objective is on the international stage? Can you be specific? And what is Africa's objective?

5. So I dont know what Bantulands your talking about. People like you try to attach yourself to Somalis by creating facts from thin air. Why would a Somali refugee opt to go to Bantu country if they can get a free ride to the EU, USA, CANADA. The Somalis in Kenya are in northern Kenya which is Somali where the U.N. is, majority of Somalis in South Africa are buiessness people, and there are no Somalis in West africa or central africa. The majority of Somalis who dont go to the west go to the middle east in yemen, egypt.

You know, seem to talk a lot about Somalia's connection to the Middle East. Sure you share a reglion and sure you traded with them for centuries, but so did the Swahili people of Tanzania and Kenya, and yhe Songhai Empire of West Africa, heck because of global trade the richest man who ever lived was a muslim black West African man (Mansa Musa)... but you don't see Malians rushing to lick the booty of Arabs the way you do. And honestly I know several Somali families and none of them do this.

I think you're using the Middle East to uplift your image. Everyone knows that SSomalis in Egypt and Yemen and Jordan are mistreated just like Ethiopians are in Israel. I hate to say it, but in the 21st century Somalia will not be in any position to be leadin Africa in anything except poverty.

The past is the past. Once upon a time the Middle East and North Africa were the most advanced regions in the world and Europeans were still tribal, now the West seems to be enjoying an unattainable level of prosperity while the Middle East struggles with instability and once great Egypt has even fallen behind several Sub-Saharan economies. All empires fall axum. You have a 13th century mindset of claiming superiority through oppression rather than the 21st century mindset of prosperity. It doesnt matter what Somalia's military looks like, if you try to reclaim land in Kenya and Ethiopia you will be hit with sanctions that will send Domalia's economy so low your people will starve until they start eating their own families. And then the international media will bury your name so much further in the dirt than it already is that Somalis in the West will pretend to be from Djibouti.

Don't believe me? Look at what happened to Russia during this whole Ukraine nonsense.

My pictures were to show that the average Somali looks a certain way which is true. If you were posting pictures to show that Bantus have dark skin that would make sense. I showed thousands of pictures of just Somalis to show that the average Somali looks better than Bantus, which is true.

You simply took two individuals to show who women would prefer, that is subjective my good friend.

Basically everyone who is throwing dirt at either somalis or bantus about looks is just crazy. It's a fact that beauty are in the eyes of the beholder and there are unattractive people and attractive people in every country. I'll post some bantu men and women that I think even Ajuran can admit he finds attractive. No pictures of somalis simply because you've taken every opportunity to show us good pictures of your people. (and by the way only two of them have fake hair, the other just relaxed and straightened hers (the one lying down).

The truth is, not every Somali is attractive, in fact, most are not. Likewise, not every bantu is attractive, once again, most are not. That's based on the many Somalis and bantus I have seen. Now, In my own personal opinion, I believe that the average pretty Somali woman will have a better face than the average pretty bantu woman, but will have a worse body. Conversely, the average pretty bantu girl will have a better body (shape, breasts, booty) than the average pretty somali girl. Now both the bantu girl and the somali girl are pretty, so it really comes down to wether you want the bantu girl's raw sexiness or the somali girl's beauty and facial charm. As for men, I think it's mostly the same story, although I would say that in this category Somali guys are on average suuuuper scrawny, not just compared to other African men, but almost every other ethnicity I can think of. Once again, it's up to the woman to decide what she wants.

Pretty is pretty and handsome is handsome regardless of a person's heritage. I'm a handsome bantu and I know many beautiful bantu women. Firstly, I'm not restricted to dating inside my own ethnicity so it doesn't really matter, but even if I was, I wouldn't worry about how many ugly bantu women there were. I could just focus on the ones I found attractive like most well-adjusted human beings do.

genetic variation on the continent of Africa is due to land mass being so huge. You guys are amateurs

Well Africa is only the second largest continent. Why isn't Asia the most diverse then? Also, good job for ignoring the tragedy of Somalia's near lack of genetic diversity

Ajuran:

diseases dont care which land masss you are in. You simply conflate your afrocentrism with science and genetics and have done so many times before.

Being in a landmass called has no correlation with anything especially disease.

You're right, the landmass has nothing to do with this, but he's still right. It just so happens that it's been proven that Africa is the most genetically diverse continent and black people are the most genetically diverse racial group, thus meaning that there is differing levels of susceptibility to disease. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/30/AR2009043002485.html

As an example, because a black person from Kenya and a black person from Nigeria are more genetically different than a white person from England and a White person from Greece, if a disease affects a British person it is very likely to also affect a Greek person in the same exact manner, whereas if people are affected by a disease in Kenya, Nigerians may be resistant to it. In this way, if a fatal disease is spreading throughout Europe and affecting the white population, it is likely to kill every single white person around the world if it is not contained, however other ethnicities may not be affected, this is the same for Asians and Arabs, this is also why so many Native American tribes died of small pox while Europeans did not. Black populations are different however, because it's less likely for all black ethnic groups to be affected in the same way by the same disease.

Now on to your stupid comment about Somalis only dating other ethnic Somalis... this is on a genetic level, incest. Obviously all humans are distantly related. In any given country in the world, if you are dating or married to someone from your own ethnic group there is a 1 in 5 chance that you and your partner share a relative fewer than 10 generations ago. Now, that goes for all people, but in the case of Somalia where there is a culture of dating exclusively within your ethnic group, and this has been a practice for hundreds of years, it is FAR more common to find couples who have a common ancestor only 5 generations ago, which is only about 100 years. And because it's a known fact that ethnic Somalis are such a homogenous population, if one Somali is infected by a disease, there is a good chance all of them will be infected if the disease spreads without containment, and then Somalis will be left in numbers that are similar to the Cherokee.

Hopefully this will never happen, but my point is the "Fufu Nation" is scientifically much less likely to disappear because of disease than Somalia. We already outnumber you and your Habesha friends by a ratio of 7 to 1, we are more diverse and more economically progressive. It seems like you have your priorities backwards. I don't care if you don't think black people are attractive. If I were a Somali I'd be jumping at the opportunity to be associated with such a talented and inspiring group of people (blacks).

At the bolded - Whay would anybody take pride in having Arab blood? Arab men are scrawny, whiny, insecure glass jawed/chinned fuckboys of the highest order!

I'm going to start off by saying that I've seen dozens and dozens of strong Arab men with regular jaws and strong jaws. I don't think what you're saying makes any sense.

Moving on, some Swahili take pride in the non-African side of their heritage because their racist and believe that being black is something to be ashamed of or looked down upon on a certain level. This is of course only when it suits them. In the U.S. the flip-flopping of their identities is really annoying. Like many Somalis and Ethiopians in the states they have a tendency to align with black people when famous black people are being praised for being the best in a certain field like Michael Jackson or Serena Williams or Idris Elba or Lupita Nyongo or Nelson Mandela. They will also jump on the "black people are the best dancers, musicians and athletes (even though the Somali is almost always the skinniest person in the room out of any ethnicity and could not pass for any type of athlete other than a distance runner, but even then Kenyans are at the top of that sport)" bandwagon whenever it suits them. However, these same people tend to change their tones when black culture is being criticized or looked down upon. Suddenly at that moment they aren't black anymore, they're "Somali or Habesha or Swahili".

I saw it now. That guy is Somali. Look at his nose and the baby face, they are Somali. No Bantu ever looks like that. How many Bantu muslims wear that clothing in that region?

Why is it every time a Bantu uses a Picture of someone who doesnt look Bantu, there is never 100percent proof they are Bantu, but you guys claim them on the off chance they could be bantu when in reality their are no Bantus with such features, and if they are they are mixed.

Clearly that guy with the child is Somali, look at his nose, desert background, the baby face. Give me the link I can even research it

Here are some bantu people from Rwanda, they are not mixed and this is a common look in that country. The second picture is the first lady of Rwanda and the last picture is the president. Research their genealogies. Feel free. They are not mixed with Somalis.

Ajuran:

So you admit that Swahilis are not pure Bantus. I thought you were saying that guy was a pure Bantu. That would be absurd cause the guy can pass as Cushitic.

I will admit that a large portion of ethnic Swahili people are mixed or just not black at all. But Bantu is not a race or ethnicity. Bantu is a language family, like how Germanic is a language family. I think Somalis and perhaps Habeshas use the term bantu to apply to sub-saharan Africans other than themselves (you can call us black if you don't consider yourself black, although I know some Somali individuals who do).

The Somali definition of Bantu is not the one that we're using on this thread. You won't see any West Africans on this thread witht he exception of Cameroonians. You also won't see any Khoisan southern Africans. The man in the picture is Swahili. He's not a Somali who speaks Swahili, but he is a Swahili person which is a distinct ethnicity unto itself.

Like many Swahilis will admit and take pride in, they often have great grandfathers who were Arabs. But they are still classified as Bantu. And since I know how people on this forum have a habit of derailing threads into lengthy terrible discussions on genetics and race and all of that nonsense (see my first and only thread ever) I'll just reiterate that using the actual literal definition of bantu, which I think we are using on this thread judging form the pictures I've seen posted, it doesn't really matter what a person looks like as long as they are a part of a tribe or ethnic heritage of people who natively speak a bantu language. I don't care if that man looks like he's from Somalia, or that his ancestor was probably an Arab slave trader, Swahili culture was formed as a blend of different cultures from around the indian ocean in Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. What he looks like is irrelevant because a Kenyan Bantu will not look like a South African bantu or an Angolan bantu or a Cameroonian bantu or a Congolese bantu, but we can agree that they are all legitimately Bantu, regardless of features.

There is definitely a bantu look which is totally distinct from any other look in Africa. And the bantus genetics have been shown to be significantly different from the west Africans or the horners genetics. So it doesn't make sense to say that bantus are genetically west Africans. For sure,as Africans,we must have something in common. But to think that all Africans are the same is a fallacy. Moreover,as I already put it,I don't fancy the mixed bantus at all:I find them neither attractive nor physically fit! When you try to melt together a Somali look with a bantu look, the result is a weak individual with a "rat" face ;DIs that to look good?

Why focus on eastern bantus like we're the only ones who dont look like central Africans? Neither do southern Africans. Obviously Africa is so big that different people from different regions will obviously look different, so if someone from Rwanda, someone from Cameroun, someone from Swaziland and someone from Angola met they would all look different, but they would all still be bantu. And by the way, most bantus dont have that "classic bantu look" anyway. There are more bantu people in southern and eastern africa combined than in central Africa so central africans dont represent the "popular" look of modern bantus

Bantus aren't west Africans!Dont claim what doesn't belong to you! grin There is a classical bantu phenotype(the congo phenotype) and I can pick a Congolese person among any group of Africans. If anything, mixing with so many other races ,has destroyed bantus uniqueness.By heavily mixing with cushites and nioltics, the eastern bantus (kikuyus,luyas,bugandas...) have lost a lot in terms of good genes. There is no genetic benefits for a bantu to mix with a Somali,a Fulani,a Nilotic....And this is mostly noticeable with men:The kikuyus men for example are ways weaker than the Congolese or the camerounese men. They cant even produce a decent footballer ;DThis is a result of mixing with masais,somalis,ethiopians......And even in terms of beauty, the eastern bantus cant no longer produce splendid specimens like congo or cameroun people do.

There are a total of 800 Million people in ALL of Africa, 100 Million of those are North Africans, and another 100 Million are in Somalia/Ethiopia/Eritrean/Djibouti

No. Axum, take a look at the screenshot below.

Now, if you do your research there are about 195 million people in North Africa (I've provided another screenshot if you don't believe me or are too lazy to look this up)

And there's slightly more than 100 million people in the Horn of Africa (see attached screenshot)

Now, if you do the math and subtract 295 million from 1.1 Billion you get 805 million (yet another screenshot attached but you can go ahead and double check any of this if you must)

I think I'm about to unfollow my own first thread ever. Every day I wake up and see 30-100+ new posts on the things I follow and 90% of them are from this thread and they're all just people arguing over genetics and history.

I can understand Somalis coming in here to defend themselves from the slander being thrown at Somalia and Somali people. However, we've gotta remember that people (on this thread at least) were only saying positive things about Somalia until Axum showed up and started calling people monkeys and telling them to die of AIDS and spouting bullshit like Somalia is better than all black African countries, which everyone knows is far from the truth even despite the improvements that Somalia has made in recent years.

I can't deny I've said some very rude things about Somalis to defend myself and all of us non-horners here from Axum. But I think that it's time to stop this. I'm not going to attempt to "babysit" people on this forum and tell everyone to play nice, but there are now over a dozen threads on this site that started off nice and were constructive and have been completely and utterly derailed by Axum and have never recovered and gotten back on topic.

So to appease everyone, if you are Axum or another Somali who thinks that all black people are ugly and look like monkeys and are all going to go extinct from black women abusing wigs, or if you are a black person who thinks Somalia is the worst country in the world and Somali men are all skinny and awkward looking and live in the past and are completely removed from reality as far as how the world views them, then I have something for you to do.

Go and make a damn thread in the culture section called "Somalis/Cushites VS Black People" and then you guys can fight there forever and nobody will care because you're not ruining anyone else's threads. Thank you.
