FamilyRe: I Am 30. Should I Marry Him by ragdollz: 10:05am On May 07, 2011
OK, don't marry him to give his baby his name: marry him because OBVIOUSLY you love him and can't imagine yourself with someone else. How do I know this? Even after all he's done to you, you are already one month to marrying him. So why trouble us when you've made up your mind already?? SMH

Fantastic news! She should drop the headscarf though, you know how Americans feel about extreme religiousity grin grin grin. And OF COURSE she's Nigerian. What are the odds that she's NOT?? Nine out of ten black pple in the US are Nigerian in origin anyway grin grin grin.

Did you miss the part where he visits prophets and gambles his life away?

What happens when they tell him to bring his first son for sacrifice  huh  undecided

And don't think that a man wanting to marry a woman is for any reason a 'good sign' . . . . maybe he thinks that will assure his daily meals even after a baby has been added to the family!  undecided
Like I said, he's bad news. No denying that. But no one is beyond redemption and you know what they say: the devil you know. . . . .
FamilyRe: I Am 30. Should I Marry Him by ragdollz: 2:54pm On May 06, 2011

marriage is not some experiment you get into to 'test waters' . . . If you are not at least 80%, no need to even try!

If women could accept that marriage doesn't change people, many won't be having the problems they are having now.

If she marries him now, she'll keep worrying about her real baby and her baby husband.

She's 30, single and pregnant . . . at least she's not married to some loser! undecided
That's true. But you're still only thinking about secondary stuff like he's jobless, unfeeling etc. But raising a baby without its father is not good at all. With all his faults, he's ready to marry her. That in itself is a good sign. He also wants to claim his child. Another good sign. And marriage CAN change some men. First of all she can spend less time writing long stories about her life and focus on working on her man/future marriage.
RomanceRe: There Is Nothing Special After You Have Had Her Again And Again by ragdollz: 2:49pm On May 06, 2011
Orikinla:
If you have laid a babe twice or more and you have no plan to marry her, there is nothing special in just sleeping with her again. As we say in Pidgin English "Nothing dey there again". It is waste of time and money keeping a girlfriend who has nothing special to offer you, except "meaningless sexual intercourse".
Exactly, grown men have found that se-x is better when there are feelings involved. Or when the se-x is so great that even though you don't love or even like her, you freaking adore her pu-ssy, and so even when you get married or find someone you love, you'll never resist going back for a reminiscent fu-ck grin grin grin

Why is this phone so problematic?? I have a pal who wants to sell hers after just three months. She already has a Bold for a replacement and just wants to get rid of her troublesome Storm. Push screens can be such a bummer!! Lol, you try sha for selling it so cheap with the charger.

There is a 'father' and there is a 'sperm donor' . . . In this OP's case, the child has the latter!

A man like him can NEVER be a true father to his child! IMO.

Besides, what's in a name . . . undecided
What makes you think marriage and fatherhood won't settle him down?? A baby has a way of healing a lot of wounds. He just might be redeemable. If she doesn't try, she'll never know. And guess what? She can always leave if she wants. That's the up side!!! If she doesn't marry him, it'll always be a matter of "what if"??

Besides, she's thirty and pregnant. Not exactly able to be choosy, or what do you think??
FamilyRe: I Am 30. Should I Marry Him by ragdollz: 2:21pm On May 06, 2011

A bad father is worse than none . . . . No child should be made to pass through such an unstable situation.

And guess what? the baby already has a name . . . hers!

Damn chauvinists!
Lol. Ever heard of the word BAST-ARD?? How's that for a name? Some kids grow up wishing they knew their father, or had one, or have been acknowledged by one. They are a month from the wedding and she's having cold feet, so what? Things could get better. And if not, there's the option of leaving. But if she decides not to marry him, she has no options at all.

And if thinking every child deserves to bear their FATHER'S FAMILY NAME, makes me a "chauvinist", then I'll gladly become one!!

Ujujoan:
shocked shocked shocked

You are kidding . . . right huh undecided
Not! Women in worse situations have married the man!! This guy is bad news but he fathered her pregnancy and that baby needs a name! Trust me, single motherhood is a bad place. At least a separated/divorced mother doesn't sound so bad and the child gets to keep his dad's name! He/she will thank his mother one day for the sacrifice!!

Or, do you have a better suggestion?
FamilyRe: I Am 30. Should I Marry Him by ragdollz: 1:47pm On May 06, 2011
I'll advise you to marry him. If worse comes to worst, you can always walk out, but at least your baby will have a name. Close your eyes and do if for your child.

There can never be another Nairaland and it would be hard for some other website to be able to replicate the winning formula. I agree that this site takes on all-comers but that's the world wide web for you : faceless and unaccountable. The OP you just need to take the good with the bad, and retrieve what ever important data you can from the debris you see around you undecided

Hmmmn, this is gonna be harder than I thought.
How many designers do you think sent her their designs to wear for the MET GALA?!!!! How many do you think she would have 'insulted'?
I don't really want us to argue indefinitely over nothing: all I'm saying that if Beyonce had ANOTHER dress to wear to the Met, don't you think she'd have worn it? Her mom run a freaking clothing line, OF COURSE Beyonce had hundreds of clothes to wear, but to that Met do, she had one pick and one pick only. Any other "choices" she might have had in the closet would have just not been good enough to her and at such notice.

And the whole talk of Genny getting married to D'banj is plain hogwash. So these lot can keep frothing at the mouth.  cheesy

Funny society we live in. A 32-year-old lady is too old for a 31-year-old boy?  undecided You need help!
I guess because of his "stature" he can still pass for 22  grin grin grin. Seriously the babe is too much for him to handle, no matter his talent and mega-bucks. I wish she'd find a millionaire hunk like that dreadlocked actress <Dakore>  grin grin

Chai. See ignorance o. grin grin grin
Even for acting roles, they are usually presented with dozens of options for each particular scene before they go on the scene. Same applies to awards and shows. They have dozens and dozens to choose from before they decide to make their final appearance. Bear in mind that this event was the MET gala (one of the most prestigious in the fashion calendar for the year) and designers are fighting tooth and nail to get starlets, actors and actresses to appear in their designs (as a promotional tool) and even in many cases, these actresses get the clothes for FREE.
Why do you think many of them turned out in designs by Alexander McQueen? It was in his honor, dear. So first and formost, Beyonce must have had a wide array of McQueen designs to choose from before she settled for this Emilio Pucci dress which left her with little or no room to breathe because it was made for a smaller woman.
Add also the fact that she's a designer herself. So don't gimme that kini of this being her ONLY option to the MET gala.
So check this: a designer finally gets Beyonce to pick his dress to wear. How on EARTH can she change her mind at the last minute and risk insulting the designer? She picked ONE out of the "dozens", and that one just wasn't good enough. My point>>>> there can only be ONE dress on THE DAY. You are INCAPABLE of changing your mind at the last minute. Logistics!! LOL.
RomanceRe: Am I Not Enough For Her? by ragdollz: 11:58am On May 05, 2011
Lol, the guy is obviously not hitting it right!! Self-service ONCE a day?? That's weird!! That means she does it daily!! Gosh, the guy needs to do his "homework'!! Take more time with pre-intimacy and other non-penetrative activities. You should learn to freak her out more and not just fu-ck her, jeez!! How can a girl like self-service more than the real thing? There's a problem there sha.

SHE DOES NOT FIT DBANJ. DBANJ SHOULD LOOK FOR A YOUNGER GIRL WELL OFF HIS PROFESSION. THIS CLASS OF GENEVIVE IS NEW CLOTH ON SPOILT BODY. ALSO DBANJ IS WEAK COS HE IS SUFFERING FROM THE SPIRIT OF LUST AND THEIR MARRIAGE CAN NEVER WORK, NO MATTER HOW THEY PATCH IT.I HOPE DBANJ HAS PARENTS AND THEY SHOULD NOW HELP HIM SETTLE DOWN IF HE NEEDS
There is NOTHING wrong with Genevieve ok?? What ever you think you know about her past, she is still a human being. I only want her to be happy that is why I'd advise her to marry someone older and more accomplished in life, girls like Caroline Ekanem Danjuma made the right choice, the man may not be too gorgeous or young but at least you have security unlike marrying a playboy like D'banj. Look what happened to 9ice's marriage!!

Genevieve needs a more mature, accomplished MAN!! D'banj is not even CLOSE to a compatible match! She should marry someone in the 35-42 age range, there still some single, handsome rich guys in that category who may/may not have been married before. A single mother herself, she can't afford to be choosey. D'banj is an ok boyfriend but make handshake no pass elbow abeg!!

Lai lai. There's nothing like 'too late to wear something else' in the life of a superstar like Beyonce. She chose the dress knowing fulling well that it was super tight and felt she could manage the situations.
Fact is, over the years, if its not tight, shiny and flamboyant, Beyonce is not interested.
Lol, obviously you don't know much about celebrities grin grin wink. The biggest stars plan for weeks, even months, what they will wear to an occasion. When it's ready, they try it on and there's always adjustments. Obviously Beyonce was careless this time. But when it comes to THE dress for a special event, there can never be a good enough "back-up" dress or plan. It would be logistically impossible!
