Well, I am telling you what was obtainable just before the CBN banned foreign payments with Naira MasterCards entirely.

a) You receive Moneygram or Western Union: you MUST receive the cash in Naira at the official rate. In other words, the banks buy it off you at maybe N198 to $1.
b) You use your foreign cards on a Nigerian ATM. You are paid official rate or even less (Payoneer is about 193). So the banks again, have earned dollars on the cheap as the foreign banks must settle the transaction in USD.

Now it gets interesting.

a) You make a PayPal payment from Nigeria. You are billed at N283 (what UBA charged me last week of December.
b) You make a cross-border payment on a POS or website. You are billed at black market rate.

So when the Nigerian banks now have to settle the foreign merchants, they do so using your acquired dollars they got at official rate and sold to you at black market rate. So the banks are making a killing off the differential.

Until a banker comes here to counter what I have said, this is my understanding of the situation.

well banks are out to make money and I believe they are to be blame for our exchange rate problem. Also I won't risk using my Wells Fargo bank Atm card in a Nigeria atm machine if I visit Nigeria. Its more profitable to withdraw all the money here and convert it when I get to Nigeria. I am really surprise that western union convert at official rate so I think its better to get paid in dollars or don't western union pay in dollars anymore? I would also want to know the rate western union charges if someone want to send money from Nigeria to oversea

that means the banks are selfish. I'm not in Nigeria sha but I was charge the official rate when I withdrew money from my Nigeria account 13 months in US. I don't have any money in the account anymore so I don't really know. But I do know they usually charge the official rate last yr

how do you make profit selling your goods when the value of naira is crashing? You know Nigerians like pricing the cost of goods down without considering that most of the goods are imported and are brought with dollars. Anyways, I pray it rise to like 220

it doesn't matter if Gistmo is in US territory. A US court has order for their release by the US government refused because they feel they are too much of a security risk. Those detainees are covered by US laws because they are been detain by the US govt

The federal government can detain anybody as long as they want if they are charge with terrorism and treason. do you know how many millions of Boko haram suspects that are lavishing in jail since GEJ presidency. They have been branded enemy of the state and are change with treason and terrorism just like Nmandi Kanu. As for Gistmo the US courts has also order the release of the detainees but the US government have continue to deny them the right for a trial and has not release them. As long as they are detain by the US government they are protected by US laws

Davido has not stop taking responsibility. He allude the baby mama was given 500k this December above what she's entitled to.

The kid need medical attention abroad and this is also geared towards helping the mother raise the kid. Has Davido stopped being the father to the point he'll harm the kid in his travel overseas?

The point is that you don't expect Davido to include his baby mama in his abroad itinerary when she's the one causing him financial drain and emotional trauma. Baby mama cannot eat her cake and have it either way she should take responsibility for her actions.

I still believe the child will be returned to her after the treatment since the child is still suckling but now due to her insensitivity she'll lose all her monthly handouts after embarrassing Davido and his family

We don't know the full details of the case but from the look of it. it seems like Davido family is trying to kidnapped the child from the child mother. Also you can travel abroad with a child without the consent of both parents. he should have get permission from the child mother before taking her abroad.
