GenoMI: Ore mi @MerryMom, how is your wkend? grin Same here @ first timer, though I plan to go at 36 weeks so I can maximize my 3 months leave sad. Also trying to figure out the timings especially when to fly back with baby so that I have enough time to settle in back home before work starts. God dey.
Why can't maternity leave be 6months sef. I plan yo go at 35 weeks either to Phoenix or Houston. Men, Dserious this ur POE experience was grande.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 12:56pm On Sep 17, 2014
Banner maternity package isnt smiling. 24hr stay+epidural is $4, 012. Uncomplicated CS is $7k+ and these are just hospital fees. No physician and other provider fees added.

nefertitiram: Dear All,
I wish I could post a POE story, but I developed severe complications on the day I was to leave for US. I am sure my friend @dinawe who we were supposed to travel together must have been confounded by my disappearance at the airport.
I started bleeding a few hours to my flight, and was rushed to a hosp. I had lost so much blood so they had to carry out an emergency surgery to save my life.
My babies were born at 27 weeks and are currently in an incubator. I am in recovery as well.
In all things I can only give thanks to God, things could have been much worse if I had gotten on that flight.
@dinawe, please reach out to me when you arrive phoenix. This is why I didn't show up for our flight, but I and the babies are safe and sound.
Pele Nef. I pray you and the babies a swift recovery.

Phema: For those going to Phoenix; I tried calling other Hospitals in Phoenix and non has an all-inclusive maternity package like MIHS. They could only tell the hospital fees which is about $3k for almost all of them. You will have to get your own Dr, pay him/her, also pay for epidural, Paediatrician, Aneasthesiologist, laboratory test etc.

However, I got one hospital (Northwest Medical Centre) in Tucson, AZ which offers a maternity package plan (again, just hospital fees) for $1800 and $350 for epidural. Excludes Dr's fees, Paediatrician fees, lab tests etc

This is me, signing out on the searching game. Will just have to wait till I get MIHS new price to make a decision between MIHS and Doctores Para Ti.

Chei! I speak English tire today. From Naija accent to fake American one to even middle eastern one sef, sotey my credit finish. I load another one again, them finish am. I don try! angry
Pele Phema. Na sotay search I do today and couldn't find a 'sensible' package. I have decided to chill too till that October.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 12:32pm On Sep 16, 2014
Phema: I guess your going in January? A higher rate starts from January 1st.

I made a reservation, but just cancelled. Want to be sure of where I'm headed.
Yeah I'm headed in January. I didnt book too cos of all these brouhaha with upping rates. I have started looking for alternatives just that most hopspitals don't have these info online like MiHs and el paso. So that means several calls.

I am going to begin my search from arizona and texans because they are border cities.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 12:21pm On Sep 16, 2014
Phema: Call them on +18003987829 and tell them you want the extended stay program for Crossland Economy Hotels, McDowell Rd, Phoenix. You should get same rates.
I did call and got rates of 2k+. Have you made reservations yet?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 9:07pm On Sep 15, 2014
Phema: Abeg, who has tried booking Crossland Economy Hotels through the Extended stay route? Just made a reservation for 60 nights and it ain't cheap at all. I've just 24hrs to cancel the reservation or a 3 night charge will be applied. undecided

Got it at the rate of $26.24 per night till December 31st and $28.49 per night as from January 2014. Total for 60 nights came up to $1626.30 with additional tax of $199.55. Everything summed up to $1825.85. Also, a refundable service charge of $150 on checking in.

Any cheaper option in Phoenix with same facilities as Crossland?
I called on sunday and they said they dont even have the 60 day extended prog anymore. I plan to call biltmore tomorrow.

Tvegas: You and your husband can retrieve submitted forms and fill new DS160 forms as late as a day to the interview . If you submitted the first application not more than 30 days to the day you attempt to retrieve your application. By following these steps

Go to the DS160 page, input your old DS160 code and retrieve submitted forms. Click on cancel old application . The old form submitted will appear, change all the necessary details and print the new confirmation page with the new code. You dont need to tamper with your appointment confirmation. Go to the embassy with the new DS160 confirmation page, the old DS160 confirmation page and the old appointment confirmation initially booked. You should be fine.
God bless u mega. Thank you.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 10:39pm On Sep 14, 2014
MadameU: @ phema and toitoi, let's actually wait to see what reviews may have been applied, and the conditions attached. In the mean time, I suggest we begin searching out alternatives.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 10:30am On Sep 14, 2014
toitoi: Phema and freshface check this link you will find it. http://mihs.org/patient-information/price-and-financial-policy.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 10:28am On Sep 14, 2014
Dammiecouture: okay

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 1:50pm On Sep 13, 2014
Phema: Crossland rooms smell of smoke?? Wow! I hate odour of any kind ooo. I thought there was a "non smoking policy" in the hotel? angry Anyways, how much did they charge per night? How long will you be staying there? Were you given a discount and for how much?

Did the POE Officers at San Francisco ask for your Dr's appointment letter from MIHS? I'm just a little concerned since MIHS no longer gives Dr's appointment and also refuse to provide an email correspondence.
Mihs doesnt give appointment letter again? Wahala dey o. No wonder dey have been posting me saying dey will mail my appt and dey avnt.

Please a quick question, in filling my visa app form do I put the hospital as my contact organisation?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 7:46pm On Sep 09, 2014
IyawoToBe: Hello all. For those who applied and was granted visa as a family, do we have to fill the proxy form to collect your passport? We were given just one collection form, so I want to know if I am expected to sign the proxy form since my hubby was the primary applicant.
My hubby and I intend to apply together and I paid separate visa app fees for us. How do then apply as a couple?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 7:37pm On Sep 09, 2014
Phema: That can't be difficult na. Fill exactly how long you intend to stay (in days or weeks) and where you intend to stay (name and address of hotel or a relative's place).
Thanks Phema. Was thinking I'd have to put i like the two year visa.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 3:33pm On Sep 09, 2014
Please I need some clarification. A question in my ds-160 form asked how long I intend to stay in the US and where I'd be staying? What should I fill there?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by raii: 3:26pm On Sep 09, 2014
oawele: To God be the glory, my wife delivered our set of twin at MIHS last week. I was present throughout the whole birth process and i would say they were welcoming, nice and professional.

My wife had a VBAC which went very well and from my experience, the nurses were nice and wonderful, most expeccially the nurse that was in charge of my wife during labour.

In all i like their services and i wuld use them again if i had to........but in the mean time family planning mode activated wink

Thank you all ......
Congrats oawele. Activate am well o
