A-40:You feel me A-40, Carlos Vela is the way forward,he needs a lot more playing time than he is getting,so his confidence-level can grow. The guy is quite sharp in front of goal.In the absence of Eduardo,Vela can fill in for him.Bendtner`s ball control is so pathetic. If Vela gets half the chances Bendtner gets,i can bet you he`ll convert 98% of them. I so much beleive in that guy.Can u imagine the sitter Fabregas dashed the keeper,Vela would have buried it with his left foot. If anyone is in doubt, watch the sheffield game on tuesday, where i beleive he`ll have a full game. Some friends were arguing that Bendtner has been in the scheme of things longer than Vela, and as such understands the team better, but i totally and completely disagree. It is not about how long one has been in the team, but one that can get the job done. Yeah we need Rozzi back and soon too,but if my eyes are not deceiving me and i see Eboue improving the way he is doing, and polishes up his last ball,Rozzi will really need to fight his way back to the team. |
mystikal:I agree with you.Our defence is not yet a compact unit,i don`t know if we need to buy or work on what we have. |
All these are long stories. All the dog needs is whiskey!,whiskey!!, and more whiskey!!!.Then you would have created a lion out of it ![]() |
nyabinghi:I`m no Chelsea fan but i know that bridge of theirs has refused to cave in since 06, and it`s not looking like it`ll do so anytime soon. come to think of it na Julius Berger build dt bridge ![]() |
Man U. tried, but Villareal came with a game plan and it worked. If my records are right, the last time Villareal held u guys at OT, u failed to go thru the group stages. ![]() |

I don`t support any of the two, but going by the way United are playing currently, they might not survive this one.I just want to enjoy a good game. In any case, may the best team on the day win!!! |
It was an okay game for me,but for some reason i felt we had a plan to play safe and get at least a draw because if we had raised our game just by 10% more, we would have mauled those guys.Kiev were just an okay team on the night, not the type we should be struggling against, contrary to pre-match opinion. My hero of the night was Denilson, before now i felt he was too `shy` to be brazilian, or rather there was something unBrazilian about him,but i guess the guy is proving me wrong by the day.He needs more games and he`ll be way up there. Adebayor is yet to warm himself back into my heart.Goossh!!the guy should be converted to an attacking midfielder. Song did just well,he didn`t need to be substituted. Fab4 was shadowed on the night by Denilson. Walcott was also a class act,if he keeps those sterling performances up, and improve on his weak areas,England might actually be witnessing the emergence of another legend.Don`t forget, players like him come once in a generation. Gallas, thanks for the goal, but i didn`t feel him,not with those Sanderos-type blunders. RVP-what was Wenger thinking, letting stay that long on the pitch.Beleive me Vela is the way forward, because at the moment,he is more clinical. Please can someone tell me what Bendtner is still doing in the 1st team-that Giraffe is a reserve team material,Vela is way ahead of him (Not in height though) Mukina, i`m beginning to feel your boyfriend Ebouezza is really beginning to impress me.Only if he can work on his final touch,he`ll still be relevant to the set up.In all twas okay, though it could have been better. The rest of the guys just did enough. |
Please move it to the jokes section or rather create a forum for insults ![]() |

'Fearless' Walcott needs protection, says Cole By Timothy Abraham Wednesday, 17 September 2008 Joe Cole has warned England and Arsenal fans not to burden Theo Walcott with unrealistic expectations after his impressive performances for club and country recently. The teenager gave a glimpse of his prodigious talent with a hat-trick against Croatia to help England to victory in the second game of their World Cup qualifying campaign. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger was then expected to rest Walcott for their Premier League fixture with Blackburn at the weekend but he started with the youngster who went on to play an influential role in the 4-0 win at Ewood Park. Chelsea midfielder Cole is wary of expecting too much from Walcott so early in his career. "We have to remember that he's still only 19 and there shouldn't be too much pressure on him," Cole said. "In Wenger and [Fabio] Capello, he's working with two of the most experienced and respected managers in the world, who'll both help mature him as a player. "Though, to be fair, scoring three goals against Croatia in the Maksimir Stadium – probably the hardest stadium in Europe to go to – shows he's pretty fearless already. He's got great touch and fantastic ball control, so he's definitely got the ability. "What's so special about Theo is that by getting down the wing and picking out players, he's got the potential to set up as many as he'll score." Walcott joined Arsenal from Southampton as a 16-year-old in a deal which will eventually be worth up to £12m to the south coast club. And Cole also admitted it was Walcott's pace which made him such a difficult proposition for defenders. "We've all seen for a while how fast he is, and it's not just his short bursts of pace – he can do it for the whole length of the pitch," Cole said. "Pace is something that strikes fear into any player, even the top ones at international level. "It's difficult to defend against and the defender will always be scared of making a foul because you can't get near him. Once he gets into the box, he's a defender's nightmare. "He's only 19 and those three goals will have given him bags of confidence, so he'll be even more likely to take shots in the future. If he gets a run in the Arsenal side, I can see him scoring quite a few goals this season – his shooting accuracy is among the best I've ever seen." http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/internationals/fearless-walcott-needs-protection-says-cole-932898.html Bentley should really be ashamed!!! |
Cristalz:Get this shitty sermon out of the gunners thread, nobody is impressed!!!! |
yommys01:I feel u man! I strongly beleive that this team will shock a lot of pundits. |
David Bentley did not enjoy Walcott’s hattrick After a bit of a blog break, I thought it time to reflect on the past couple of weeks, and talk about the one thing that really struck me amongst the furore around Theo’s international hattrick. And that was David Bentley’s reaction. If you get another chance to see the highlights, take a look as Walcott is substituted. The camera pans across the bench where, to a man, the players are warmly applauding as the hero leaves the pitch. There is one exception - Bentley is sitting there, looking as sulky as is humanly possible, clear annoyance and bitterness on his face. Now of course Walcott’s emergence threatens Bentley’s place in the side, but a true professional desires team success over personal glory. Contrast his reaction to that of the oncoming sub, David Beckham, whose international career Theo is helping to close. Beckham is grinning from ear to ear, congratulating the man on his fantastic night’s work. Say what you like about Beckham, but there’s little doubt that a) he is an absolute professional, and b) he is desperate for England to succeed, even if it means his own appearances are limited. Bentley, on the other hand, has the best years of his career ahead of him but once again seems to be reacting extremely poorly to competition, much like he did at Arsenal when he demanded to leave because he couldn’t oust the Pires-Ljungberg combination. He also recently suggested Walcott do the same for the sake of his career, clearing missing the point that Walcott is a) a brighter prospect and b) a more level headed individual. Players who respond to adversity positively succeed. Walcott himself has, after the difficult period following his World Cup call up and the pressures that brought. Bentley is from the Diarra school, a self-important man who will probably never fulfil what is undoubtedly huge potential. I know which one I’d rather have at the club. http://www.thebeautifulgroan.com/2008/09/16/david-bentley-did-not-enjoy-walcotts-hattrick/ The guy is a bloody `beef burger` |
Who remembers Tarila Okorowanta and Totty Okoro Totty |
At least we`ll defend the world cup we won, to me that is more important!!! |

Some nairalanders neve cease to amaze me.A simple question is asked and you start abusing the poster.I equally heard that he had an auto crash, and as such any concerned fan would want to know the state of the guy`s health, because rumours are definitely bound to fly. I`m equally interested in knowing how the guy is faring. The abuse is not necessary please!! Idupaul, Wande is second from the left

Leave the grammer first, look at the ingenuity of the cartoonist-I simply love it.Splendid!!!! |
Why would one risk his /her life because of those onion-smelling small-stout-bottle-sized humans. Growing up,my Dad virtually beat up a chinese guy that threw his briefcase away, from his assigned seat on a Nigerian Airways plane.I watched in utter disbelief,as i had never seen him react so violently. If not for the intervention of the cabin crew , he was bent on having the chinese guy pick up the briefcase as the only way to appease him.It was much later when i was much older he told us of the near-inhuman treatment the Chinese meted out to him and his colleagues, when he went on official duty to China in 1984 or so.After he gave us a detailed account of what they went through,i equally developed a personal bias against the Chinese. It`s just that God heals all ill-feelings. I intend to visit China someday soon, but beleive me it`ll be strictly for business and leisure. |
